Um...This was meant to be another Christmas gift for me. I wanted to write an Adrigami version of my fanfic "Wedding Roses" but I am late...I hope this doesn't suck sorry.
I promise to finish the rest later like I did with my older fanfic but right now I got other projects to work on. See ya later!
Kagami returning from her trips to Japan was always an event for Adrien. Kagami was starting to think it was growing ridiculous with the big "Welcome home Kagami!" displays and the huge bouquets of red roses. But then she would see her boyfriend smiling at her like he was seeing the sun for the first time, and Kagami would forget the world for a moment and run to him in her pointy high heels.
This time, Kagami returned to France during winter, when all of Paris was decorated in beautiful snow stared in awe as her plane slowly landed. As much as she counted the moments until she and Adrien could meet again, she enjoyed seeing Paris as a winter wonderland from above. And when she finally landed and worked off the jet lag, she anticipated what grand gesture Adrien would make for her return.
Except there wasn't one this time…
Kagami made her way through the crowd. Her tall, handsome blonde boyfriend immediately recognized the fiery dragon lady's presence as he turned around and smiled.
He waved innocently and softly said, "Hi, dragon girl!"
Kagami waved back before Adrien walked up to her, holding his arms out. Kagami ran up and hugged him while popping her leg and giggling. Adrien wrapped his arms around her and made her feel warm before twirling her around and setting her down. Kagami wrapped her arms around his neck and gave him a curious look and a smirk.
"What? No grand gesture this time?"
Adrien chuckled under his breath. "You seem kind of disappointed, Kagami." And Adrien had to admit the light blush on her face was priceless. "No, not today, because I learned that big things come in small packages…"
"Hm?" Kagami felt that was a touch strange, considering Adrien was all about big gestures for those he cared about, being "extra," as some people would say. But she didn't press him more about it when Adrien took her cold hand tenderly with his gloved hand.
"Now, shall we head to your favorite restaurant?" Adrien said suavely.
Kagami giggled. "Of course!"
Of course, when the young couple finally exited the airport, the snow was piled up on everything and didn't look like it was about to stop; it all seemed so playful. Adrien and Kagami squeezed each other's hands, ready to brave the snow, but they both slipped when they thought they could weather it. Kagami noted that at least the snow was as soft as powder, but Adrien didn't seem so pleased as he groaned from the snow getting everywhere, like the stubborn black cat that he is.
Not to mention, he gasped when Kagami unapologetically fell on the snow. He was in such a state of panic that he overlooked her giggling and went to brush the snow off her face. But Kagami shook her head and started making a snow angel, and Adrien gave her a dumbfounded look in response. But she was so beautiful—his dragon princess, his snow angel, his everything.
Adrien followed suit and plopped on the snow next to Kagami. Still, his teeth chattered momentarily as he smiled, although once he got used to it, he started making a snow angel himself. He had to admit it was ethereal to see the clouds above him drop delicate snowflakes on him while he printed his own little snow angel on the earth. Not to mention, Kagami took a moment to look at him, and her face flushed from the cold and her being in awe of him.
Adrien suddenly went into protective boyfriend mode again and tenderly pressed his gloved hands on her cheeks, causing her to giggle most adorably. Kagami had to assure Adrien that she was just fine, but Adrien had to tell her that wouldn't stop him from worrying about her. Kagami ended up cupping his cheeks too. The two of them got lost in each other's eyes and couldn't help but move in and kiss each other while lying in the snow.
They may have made themselves look like fools in front of the people leaving the airport, but for Adrien and Kagami, it was such an ethereal moment. Although they realized they couldn't stay in the snow forever, they pulled themselves out and rushed to find warmth, leaving their two snow angels behind.
Kagami felt bliss as the steaming hot pot warmed her face, and Adrien felt the same. It was also lovely to kiss her soft pink lips above the hot pot like nobody else in the restaurant. Adrien made the offhand remark that it made him miss steamy nights while she was gone, and Kagami couldn't help but softly slap him on the cheek.
They could warm each other's bodies in a private hotel room later. But after slurping up all that hot pot, the two of them felt the need to cool down again in the snow. The snow sparkled like diamonds at night, and the world was quiet as the snowstorm finally calmed itself. Adrien and Kagami were more than content holding hands and walking through Paris while it was peaceful and covered in snow. Kagami was quite surprised her beloved boyfriend was starting to enjoy the snow…
"It may not be a sunny beach, but it's beautiful," Kagami noted. And she thought to herself how Adrien didn't suggest that they spend Christmas on a tropical island.
Adrien grinned. "Well, as much as I would love to see you against a tropical backdrop," Kagami blushed and took a moment to shove her boyfriend's arm. Then Adrien's peridot green eyes shined as he smiled down on his short girlfriend.
"I'd rather enjoy all the snow with you," he put simply.
Of course, Kagami wouldn't mind a little island sand and sun, but her boyfriend was quite the charmer, as usual.
"Oh, Adrien!"
Adrien chuckled under his breath and placed her hand over his heart. "I'm serious Kagami. You're my best friend and my partner in crime. You were always there for me, even when I wasn't at my best. You saw I wasn't the perfect prince the media made me out to be, and you loved me anyway. And you made me realize what it felt like to love something for all its imperfections. I realized not even being rich could give me everything I want, but you gave me everything I need."
Kagami gasped and felt time stopped or something. That this was all a trick of the snake or bunny miraculous, but Adrien laced her hand in his again and cleared his throat as if he were trying to convey something meaningful.
"And I hope you can accept this amazing proposal from me as well…"
"Hm?" Kagami said before she looked in disbelief at Adrien getting down on one knee and pulling a small box out of his pocket.
The sweet look in his eyes as he opened the box and gave her a dorky smile that signified. "I meant it when I said big things come in small packages."
"Kagami Tsurugi, will you give me the honor of being the bride of a scruffy Cheshire cat like myself?"
Adrien was nervous out of his mind. Sure, he felt the absolute thrill, but simultaneously, he wondered if he was dreaming because he never thought he would work up the courage to propose to Kagami.
Instead of taking the ring, Kagami took Adrien's hands and looked at him deeply with her dark brown eyes, as she usually does when she is completely and utterly enamored with him.
"The handsome, charming black cat I fell in love with…I would love to marry you, Adrien!"
Adrien couldn't help but rejoice but quickly calmed down to place the diamond ring around Kagami's strong finger. He could celebrate with drinks with the guys later, but when he put the ring around her finger, he kissed her hand, and a tear fell down Kagami's eye as she stifled a happy scream.
"Getting married to the love of my life is all I could ask for," Kagami said, attempting to wipe her face, but Adrien was sharp enough to catch her tears.
"I am thankful a screw-up like me was fortunate enough to find true love," Adrien remarked happily.
Without saying anything, Kagami wrapped her arms around Adrien's neck and kissed him as Adrien picked her up. The snow started again and gently landed on them as they made out. With how long they dated, they could make out for loud periods. Still, when they broke their kiss for air, they giggled from the snowflakes that covered their faces and rested their foreheads together.
The two of them ran hand in hand, giggling and eager to celebrate more in the hotel room. They finally felt comforted by the heated hotel, and Kagami sighed in relief. Although Adrien had a sly look in his eye and was super excited for their upcoming wedding. He scooped up Kagami in his arms and carried her bridal style as they headed for the elevator. A few people stopped and stared at the young couple. Kagami coyly showed off her sparkly engagement ring before Adrien whisked her away. The strangers beamed and wished Kagami and Adrien congratulations on their engagement.
When they got to the bedroom, Adrien and Kagami happily fell on the bed, and Kagami cupped Adrien's face to kiss him again. But there was also popping a few too many bottles of champagne and playfully wrestling until Kagami safely nuzzled against Adrien. Adrien turned off the lamp to sleep beside her.
"I love you so much Kagami…" Adrien whispered.
Kagami's eyes fluttered for a moment as she looked down on her diamond ring. She kissed him on the cheek lightly before resting her head back on his chest and drawing patterns on his chest with her finger.
"I love you too, Adrien."
