[Mission: Obey Master and Complete the Book of Darkness. Master's orders are absolute.]

[Program Name: Phantom]

[New Program complete. Standby for construction.]

"With our new master passed out, who is the new program?"

It was the first thing this phantom heard. He knew he was on his knees and kneeling before his new master, but hadn't yet opened his eyes yet. A young voice had called out to him which wracked a bit of familiarity inside him. The knowledge of who it belonged to- being part of his new being made by the Book.

A stern voice followed soon after, "A program recently made by the Book. Based off this world's supposed greatest soldier."

The young voice retorted, "What for? Are we not good enough? The Book never made new programs before. There's a soldier great enough here that even the Book of Darkness made an exception just for him?"

"He is a temporary program. He's not as strong as us, if the book deemed it necessary to create him, then there is nothing to fret over."

"Even if he doesn't originate from Belka?"

"A soldier's worth is determined on the battlefield."

He could agree to that wholeheartedly. While he is a program that originated from Earth, these Belkan value's almost matched up with his own. As long as soldiers were needed, he will be on the battlefield.

A third gentle voice popped in, "It's interesting how the Book didn't mend his injuries. Wouldn't it be detrimental to have so many scars?"

Injuries was putting it lightly. He knew what he looked like from the outside. An eyepatch was adorned on him, pieces of shrapnel were inside and outside of him, most prominent being a single horn on his forehead, and perhaps the most obvious being his red bionic arm.

The stern voice replied, "The Book of Darkness created us with the intention of being at our peak. If this program really is based off the greatest soldier of Earth, then perhaps this was his greatest outing?"

"Who was the greatest soldier then?"

"The Book denies access to that information. Only our master is allowed to know." There was a lull in the conversation, "Phantom, arise. You have permission to speak and act as you please for now."

He opened his one eye and counted his allies. Their figures allowing him to immediately identify who they were. The stoic grey haired guardian beast, Zafira, stood in the corner of the room watching over everything. To his immediate right stood Shamal with a gentle look as she examined his "injuries", The fiery red, and small, Vita stood by a bed looking rather unamused at the whole debacle. And the pink haired knight herself, Signum stood right in front of him. She stood tall and proud to signify that she was the one who held the most authority in the room. All of them, including him, wore simple black clothing. He and Zafira wore black pants and tank tops, while the rest wore simple one piece dresses, if it could even be called a "dress."

He instinctively got up and saluted, "Yes, bo-General." His instincts wanted to call her boss, but he corrected himself. Even if he did call her boss it would be wrong for some reason.

"He might be a good match for you, Signum." Vita commented on the salute.

Signum didn't take her eyes off him. Are you able to telepathically link your mind to ours?

Yes.

No response.

Are you able to telepathically link your mind to ours? Signum repeated in his mind. He could've sworn he responded.

Yes.

Another pause.

Wait. He tapped his earpiece and held down a button. He heard vibrations in his ear only he could perceive and he whispered in a way that would make his voice be heard only to those who could also hear him.

"Roger that."

Signum nodded.

"What's the point of that? If he can hear us just fine, then just cut out the radio-like transmission." Vita questioned.

"It's possible that he needs to acclimate. The transceiver he has must be a conduit to slowly get used to telepathic communications." Shamal took a guess at the reasoning for his radio.

"My frequency is 120.85." He answered without prompt. It was an attempt at making a joke of course. Or was it?

Any further conversation would be doused as a small groan was heard. He looked to the bed to see a young girl begin to rouse from unconsciousness. His new master, as programmed into him from the Book of Darkness.

He took a knee alongside his allies as their master became fully aware.

"Greetings Master." Signum took the lead as she was the designated leader, "We, Wolkenwritter, serve as your knights and guardians as long as you hold the Book of Darkness. We shall do as you command. I am Signum, the rest are Vita, Shamal, Zafira...Phantom." She had a slight pause, no doubt not used to listing out more than 4 names.

The young girl jumped a bit at the sudden introduction and backed away as quickly as she could on her bed. Phantom noted the way that her legs were immobile during it and quickly concluded her lack of mobility. His instincts immediately kicked in when she misplaced her hand and slipped off the side of her bed.

He sprung into action as he literally dived from his crouching position to catch the poor girl. She landed right on top of his back, "T-thank you."

"Be careful, Master Hayate." Shamal said after the fact.

"H-how do you know my name?"

"The Book of Darkness informed us of our new master as soon as we were created." Zafira spoke up for once.

Vita took her time to help the girl off Phantom's back and put her right back on the bed. The man then proceeded to get up without much issue. If it wasn't for his instincts as a med- soldier she probably would've hit the ground hurting. Though, if it wasn't him, then Signum would've been the one to catch her. He noticed that she was halfway through her own leap when he went off.

"Book of Darkness?"

This was gonna take a while.
