Hi guys! So I'm gonna be reuploading these chapters with a few changes maybe...from my old account maybe 1-2 chapters per week :) For those who have already read up to chapter 8, welcome back, and those who are just starting reading, welcome :)
So, first things first, a lot of characters will be OOC. I am very aware of this...don't flame me for it :)
(Apollo and Artemis are not born yet, Athena is 1, Hestia still has her throne)
(also in this chapter there is going to be a lot of time skips so pay attention to those)
Chapter 1:
For as long as she could remember, as Hestia wanted was a child. She had her throne, she had her power, she had her (albeit slightly dysfunctional) family of brothers and sisters and nieces. However, she never had a child of her own. She scoured through ancient laws, through traditions, through anything she could find, but she still had no idea how to have a child of her own without breaking her vow of maidenhood. She decided to ask Poseidon and Hades for help.
"Well, I really can't think of anything, it's tricky really," Poseidon said
"Actually, there might be a way, of course, it has never been done before, but perhaps if you use the power of the hearth to create a child it could work," Hades said
Hestia's eyes widened, "Of course, how did I never think of it? Thank you so much!" she said, then ran to the throne room.
"Sister Hestia," Zeus asked as she ran in, "what's put you in such a rush?"
"I want to try something," she said, then sat on her throne and called on the hearth. The flames shot up in front of her, as a surge of power ran through her. She ran all her power through the hearth and compelled it to bring life. Then she winced as she felt her power drain out of her, and pain coursed through her veins, but she kept going. She was close she felt it. She wasn't going to give up now. Suddenly the flames died down, and in her hands were two children.
Hestia smiled at the two bundles in her hands as happiness surged through her. Suddenly nausea, made her head swirl, and she fainted.
Zeus, who was watching this whole process, jumped out of his throne and took the two children from his sister's hands. He smiled, an uncharacteristically happy feeling spreading through him. He was happy that his sister finally had the children she had wanted for so long.
Hestia finally woke up again. She saw that Zeus was holding her two children on his throne and smiling at them. She grinned, it was surprising to see him so happy, he was usually very grumpy, and honestly a bit annoying. She got up off her throne and stumbled, god, that took a lot of energy out of her. She would have to sleep for a while. She walked up to Zeus who smiled at her,
"What do you want to name them?" he asked
She thought, what names should she give them? She thought for a moment, before saying, "Perseus and Bryan".
Zeus nodded and handed them back to her. They both had black hair and red eyes. They were beautiful. 'Thank you,' She thought to no one in particular and a small tear of joy left her eye as she walked to her palace.
(time skip, 15 years later) still 3rd person POV
Percy and Bryan walked together to the Olympian council room, along with their best friends Artemis and Apollo. Their parents had summoned them to the council for the meeting.
"I wonder why they called us," Artemis said
"Probably to tell us how awesome we are" Apollo replied
"Or to get mad at us for pranking Athena," Bryan said
"Wait what? Do they know? Who told them!" Percy asked
Bryan just laughed, and soon all 4 of them were a laughing mess. Suddenly Hermes flashed in front of them.
"What is taking you guys so long!" he said, "Zeus is getting impatient!"
"Ummm...we got lost," Percy said lamely, while Artemis looked at him incredulously
"Really? Out of all the excuses you could have used, that's the one you chose?" Artemis asked
"Look I didn't ask ok!" Percy said
They started a pretty intense argument, mostly consisting of who asked and idiots, and other things. Hermes slapped his forehead.
"Cmon guys," he said, then flashed all of them to the throne room.
Percy and Artemis were still arguing, while Bryan and Apollo had an innocent look on their face.
"NO! I JUST TOLD HIM THE FIRST THING THAT CAME TO MY HEAD" Percy said
"Well you are not smart" Artemis replied
"You're not smart"
"No, you're not smart"
"No, you're not smart"
"No, you're not smart"
"Ok children that's enough," Zeus grumbled.
Percy and Artemis, both now just realizing that they were causing a scene blushed bright red then pointed at the other and said "She started it!" "No, he started it"
Hestia gave both of them a pointed look, stopping the argument before it started.
"My apologies uncle," Percy said
At this point, Bryan and Apollo couldn't hold it in anymore.
"BAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA" they both fell to the floor laughing, clutching their stomachs.
Artemis kicked them both in the stomach, successfully and finally, shutting everyone up.
"OK! Finally, now, for the actual reason that we called you here. You 4 are immortal gods, we shall give you your domains, and you will be given time to train. When we believe you are ready, you shall be given thrones on the olympian council."
All 4 of them stared at him with their mouths open. Then bowed respectfully, "thank you uncle," Percy and Bryan said, while Artemis and Apollo said, "thank you father"
He smiled at them, "Artemis and Apollo step forward"
Percy gave them an encouraging smile as they stepped forward.
"Apollo from this day forward you are the god of archery, the sun, poetry, healing, and medicine," Zeus said
Apollo started glowing and a bright light shined throughout the room, making everyone cover their eyes. Everyone (or maybe just Artemis, Percy, and Bryan, but no one knows) gasped at Apollo when the light subsided. He was now 2 inches taller, had a lot more muscle, and just looked better in general.
"Artemis, you are now the goddess of the moon, archery, and the hunt, which will be a band of hunters of your choosing."
After Zeus said that the same thing happened, Artemis was now taller, had more muscle, a bow on her back.
"Perseus and Bryan!" Zeus called
They stepped forward, getting an encouraging smile from their mother, and stood in front of Zeus.
"Bryan you are the god of fire, battle strategy, and loyalty, Perseus you are the god of fire, swordsmanship, and loyalty," Zeus said
Percy and Bryan both glowed with power as energy surged through their bodies. The glow dimmed as 4 new gods were made.
"I'm so proud of you," Hestia said as she hugged her two children.
(Time skip 5 years) (Percy POV)
I slashed my sword up just in time to block the spear coming at my face. I held it there and grinned, "well, this is fun"
Bryan grinned back, "Enjoy it while you can,"
I spun around and swung low, aiming for his legs, where he blocked me again. Then he did something I didn't see coming. He dropped the spear and pulled a dagger out from his side and held it to my neck.
"Yield?" he asked, grinning
"Yield," I sighed.
Bryan dropped the dagger from my neck and put it back in its sheath. Then he put his spear on his back. I put my sword in its sheath as well. Applause burst out from our spectators, Artemis and Apollo. Bryan mock bowed.
"Your turn now," Bryan said, "No way you two can put on as good of a show as we did,"
"Watch your tone, we will destroy you," Apollo said mock seriously
"Sure you will," I said laughing as we made our way to the stands and sat.
"You can't talk, cause you lost," Artemis said winking at me as she took her position across from apollo. I stuck my tongue out at her real mature-like. Bryan just shook his head and grinned at me. We watched as they fought spoiler alert Artemis won.
"Alright, another day of training done" Artemis smiled, "Let's go get some food."
I nodded and we all stood up, walking together. I saw Bryan playing with his dagger, and remembered the day when our mom gave us our weapons.
(start flashback)
Bryan and I walked up to mom and hugged her. She smiled at us,
"You both make me so proud," she said, "Today I will give you both weapons specific to you. What weapons have you used in the training area?" she asked
I let Bryan go first, "Well, I liked the spear. Also the daggers." he said.
Hestia smiled at him, then nodded, and closed her eyes. Suddenly a spear and a pair of daggers appeared on the ground in front of Bryan. The spear was dark black, with shards of red running through it. The blades were curved, with a circle at the end which he could use to spin the daggers around his fingers.
"Pay attention both of you, " Mom said, "this applies to both of you. These weapons are enchanted to always fit your desired weight. They will change as you do. They will also always be with you. You can summon them at any point. Also, you can make them disappear at any point. Basically whenever you want you can make the sword appear/disappear. This will apply to your weapons as well Percy."
Bryan and I nodded before Bryan picked the weapons up and smiled. He swung the spear around then made it disappear. Then he twirled his daggers around his fingers before making them disappear as well.
"Good Bryan," Mom said, "Try recalling them back."
"Do I just...imagine having them back?" Bryan asked
Mom nodded, so Bryan focused for a moment and his spear appeared back in his hands in a burst of flame. He smiled and made it disappear again. Then mom turned to me and nodded.
"Well, I liked the sword obviously, and also I liked the throwing knives."
Hestia nodded, then summoned a sword. It had a long red and black blade, similar to Bryan's spear, and the hilt was a standard hilt that felt great in his hand. At the bottom of the blade, there was a symbol of the hearth and its fire. I twirled it around in my hands, then made it disappear. Hestia then gestured to my belt, where a knife was in its sheath. I pulled it out, then frowned as there was still a knife in there. There were sheaths on both sides with throwing knives on both sides. I looked questioningly at my mother, and she said,
"They are unlimited. You can throw as many as you want, and you will always have more."
I smiled, as Bryan and I both hugged our mom. She hugged us back and whispered in both of our ears, "I love you so much"
(end flashback)
By this point, both Bryan and I had made our weapons disappear. We stopped at Artemis' favorite restaurant, where they served vegetarian options. (she isn't vegetarian, she just likes vegetarian food) To say me, Bryan and Apollo were disgusted would be an understatement.
"How do you like this food?" I asked as I held up my sandwich which had bread, lettuce, tomato, and literally, that's it.
"What do you mean, it's delicious!" Artemis said. She had ordered for all 4 of us so we all had the same thing.
"No, it really isn't," Bryan said. Artemis looked at Apollo for support but he just shook his head.
"Are you even vegetarian?" I asked
"No, I just prefer vegetarian food." She said
"Gods, what are we even doing here then!" I exclaimed
"IT'S GOOD FOOD!" Artemis yelled
"NO, IT'S NOT!" we all yelled back
"You guys are impossible," she said, shaking her head and getting up out of her seat. We all followed suit, walking out to spend the rest of the day laughing and bickering together.
(Last time skip and the longest by far)(6543 years later)(Percy POV)
"What in the world? Camp half-blood?" I asked incredulously, shaking my head
"I suppose it would be ok to go and see our parents' half-blood children," Artemis said
"Yeah, we could completely school them in fighting, I think," I smiled
Artemis smiled as well, then we continued our walk through Olympus in silence. However, something was bothering me. I needed to know, and I wouldn't get a better time than this.
"Arty, why did you make one of the rules of your hunt that they have to be eternal maidens? Why did you make that vow?"
"Well, I've seen in the mortal world that men have done horrible things to women, and I figured it would be good to have a group that is meant for women who don't want anything to do with men," she answered
I nodded, it made sense. I had also seen many things, including rape, labor with less pay, and in general, it was unfair.
"I agree, that makes sense. I've seen those things too," I sighed. On the inside, I was slightly hurt though.
"Are your hunters going to hate me too?" I asked since I haven't ever met them.
"I don't think so, you are a god of course," she said
"They hate Apollo though," I said laughing
"He's a flirt, you know that. My imbecile brother treats women inappropriately, so it's understandable they hate him. I know you aren't like that," she said
I smiled and nodded. Maybe meeting them later today wouldn't go so bad, at least I hope not.
Yeah, saying it went bad would be an understatement.
If you didn't already know, this is going to be a pertemis story. I mostly used this chapter to explain some things that are going to be important in the story, then some more comedic parts and slight bonding at the end.
Hope you enjoyed it :)
Peace
