"Darling don't forget to dress more casual tonight. We have a plan activity after dinner." Adam called from the kitchen. The couple had returned from their walk and the fresh air had really done a wonder for the couple. "I know baby! Doing my hair now and then I will get dressed." Kim yelled from the bathroom. She was trying to get ready in a decent amount of time and this was not helping. "Kim were expecting anyone?" Adam asked walking closer to the bathroom. "No why?" Kim replied while looking at him through the mirror. "Someone is at the door. I will get it just wasn't sure if you were expecting someone or not." Adam left once he saw Kim nod. Adam got closer to the door hearing the knocks getting louder. He grabbed his side arm just in case.
He looked out as he only slightly opened the door. The building security has been updated that you needed a car to open the door or be buzzed in by a tenant. "Pops what the hell are you doing here! I almost shot you!" Adam was startled by his father appearance at his door. "Adam my boy! Aren't you gonna invite me in?" Bob replied. "Yeah not sure that is the best idea. How did you find this place let alone get in?" Adam was confused by this. "I went to your old place and they told me you moved here. And someone held the door for me. Got to say the building is shit Adam. How can you live in this dump?" Bob tried to explain. "Well the apartment is state of the art. And the outside looks that way for a reason. Less likely for someone to break in. Why are you here?" Adam asked again. "Can we go inside I don't need your neighbor hearing this." Bob urged. "Fine but I don't live alone. Be nice." Adam opened the door wider to let him in.
"Alright your inside what do you need?" Adam asked roughly watching his father look around his home. "Look I got into some financial problems. I need help. You are the only one that can help me." Bob looked stressed and scared. "Pops I don't have money like that. And what I do that probably isn't enough. So I don't know what to tell you." Adam was disappointed knowing this was why his father reached out. "Come on Adam, look at this place. I know you have money. Please I need help." Bob begged. "This is Kim's place. I don't own it. She does. And after your little visit with her last night I doubt she would help you. Where do you get off telling my girl I'm gonna get bored and leave her? Where do you get off making it sound like I'm using her? You have to be nuts coming in here asking for help." Adam yelled at his father.
Kim heard the commotion and ran towards the voices. "Adam you need to calm to down. Look at me. Yelling isn't gonna change anything. I'm okay and so are you." Kim held his face forcing him to look straight into her eyes. "I'm trying but it's hard. He hurt you. He made you cry. He made you doubt yourself, as well as me. That's not okay." Adam was trying to regain control but he was heated. Angry at his father. "He makes you think your not good enough but he's here in our home asking for money. It's not okay." Adam looked to see tears in her eyes. "Baby I'm okay. Yes it hurt but I need you to calm down. We can talk this out but I need to know if I move from holding you that you won't attack him." Kim asked and when he nodded she let go. "Patrol Officer Ruzek. Lovely to see you again. For the record my turn signals work. You were completely out of line. And you aren't getting shit from me. I worked hard for everything I have so it's not a hand out. And now that we cleared that up you can leave. We have dinner reservations soon." Kim kissed Adam before returning to their room to finish getting ready.
"Well I think you got your answer. Have a good night dad." Adam walked towards the door to open it. "Adam let me explain." Bob begged. "You need help. Get it and then we will talk. Good night dad." Adam pointed for him to leave. He watched until he was gone for good before closing the door and locking it again. But he wasn't going to let his father ruin his night. "Darling are you ready?" Adam called out. "Yup just getting my shoes on. You okay?" Kim asked while buckling her shoes. "Um yeah. He just doesn't get it. He doesn't get us. I still don't know what he was thinking by insulting you but he's not getting a dime from me again. Last time was only a couple hundred but this seemed like more. I'm not sure why but it sounded like way more. He looked scared, worried, stressed. But either way I don't have the money to bail him out." Adam sat down with a heavy sigh. "I do. I can if you want. But it would have to be clear that I would never do it again." Kim offered knowing Adam wouldn't allow it.
"No Kim. That's your hard earned money. You deserve it. I can't and won't let you do that. He just needs to figure it out alone. I'm done with him until he gets help." Adam hugged her. "Okay well let's get going then. I'm dying to see what we are up to tonight." Kim smiled while giddy with excitement. "Me too. Never been to either place so I'm excited. The restaurant Came highly recommended by both Jay and Erin. And the activity I saw online and it looked fun and completely different than anything I've ever done before so I booked it." Adam was proud of himself for this one. It was completely out of his comfort zone, maybe hers too but it looked like fun. So he hoped it went well.
As they left the building Adam looked around to make sure his father wasn't around. They entered Adams Jeep as they headed to the restaurant. The drive was quiet but full of excitement and anticipation for the night ahead. As they pull up outside the restaurant Adam parks the car and helps her to exit the vehicle. The walked hand in hand into the restaurant where they were seated right away. Adam noticed the eyes an his girlfriend but she didn't seem to notice much. Her mind caught up in the night ahead. She couldn't wait to see what he had planned for their activity. He gave her no hints wanting to surprise her completely. "So how am I doing so far?" Adam asked her. "We could have gone to a diner and I would be thrilled. I just want to spend time with you, together. It's really the simple things you know that." Kim replied holding his hands. "Sometimes I feel like it's not enough. I can't give you the things you deserve being a cop. But I love you so much. And I will try everyday to make you the happiness women ever." Adam admitted shyly. "I already am. And I love you too, so very much. But most importantly I have everything I could ever want here and now with you. Because you are enough for me." Kim replied knowing he needed to hear the truth.
"Thank you darling!" Adam leaned over the table to kiss her softly. Kim smiled softly. "Next week is going to insane with rehearsal and then training the dancers from New York. So tomorrow I want to get the studio set up with extra water bottles, towels and foot care supplies. I want to make sure they are taking proper care of their feet before we start. That can make or break them too." Kim wasn't sure how much Adam knew about it but she knew he would help anyway he could. "Sounds like a good plan. Do we need to shop of extra supplies?" Adam wasn't sure how much extra stuff she already had. "Um I think I have enough stuff. Hopefully they used the proper protection items. If not then I will supply it for now. Really it just prevents bleeding and cracked nails and broken toes. So this should be interested." Kim replied before ordering something to drink.
After Adam ordered his drink they both discussed what to order. They decided on several small plates to share. That way they could try multiple things that all sounded good. "Are you excited for the training? Teaching?" Adam asked as they waited for their food. "Um yeah I'm excited but also nervous. I have taught before. Just a class here or there but these kids need me to make them better. It's a lot of pressure. I have a feeling they are not training at home and have lazy habits that lead to poor footwork and bad execution. So we shall see when we meet them." Kim shrugged a bit. "You will be great. I know it! They are lucky to get this opportunity of a lifetime with you. I know it's scary but you are doing something amazing for them. And with any hope they will learn everything they need to improve and be successful. And maybe the ballet company will become a success as well." Adam hoped he was calming her nerves. He wasn't sure but she seemed more relaxed.
"I know you probably have no interest in being there while I'm teaching but can you the first night at least? It will help me relax knowing you are home." Kim asked a little embarrassed. "Of course Darling! Maybe I will invite Kevin over to watch a game. That way I'm there but I'm occupied during the lesson." Adam offered knowing he would be bored without her. "Thank you I appreciate that! It's gonna be crazy I know that but I'm so thankful you will be there." Kim squeezed his hand before pulling away as the food was placed on the table before them. They spent the next almost hour trying the different foods before them. Taking turns feeding each other. It was truly a date night for the loving couple. After dinner was finished the couple headed to the next destination. Kim asked questions the whole way trying to guess the location but she was never gonna get it. As they arrived Kim looked confused she had never heard of this place. "So its a pretty cool concept here at Bicycle Artworks. You don't actually paint anything. The paint goes on a canvas and then based on how fast your ride the bike determines how fast the canvas spins and the paint swirls. It looks really. Ready to try it?" Adam explained the concept. "I love it! This sounds so cool! Let's do it!" Kim jumped up and down dragging Adam to the door. Adam laughed whole heartedly as they move towards the door. "Hello. Welcome! Are we ready to make some artwork?" The employee stated. "We are. We are very excited to try this." Adam shook the guys hand. "Great I'm gonna ask you to put on some coveralls to cover your outfits. And then we can start." The guy offered them something to put over their clothes. Once they were set they headed over to pick colors.
"Now that you have chosen your colors you are gonna get on the bike and start to pedal. The faster you go the faster it spreads. I suggest start off slowly and see how you like it before you go too fast. The coveralls will protect you from the splatter. Have fun." The guy leaves them to start pedaling. "Adam this is so much fun! We have to do this again some day!" Kim pedaled at a decent speed loving the art she was making. "Yeah this is definitely different and fun. I can make a mess without you yelling at me." He laughed knowing that's exactly what would happen. "Yup. But seriously this is fun!" Kim laughed like a child. Adam knew he wanted to give her all the childhood things she never got to experience. This was only a small step but the laugh and look on her face was worth it to him. He would do anything to see that look again.
Once they were satisfied with the job they had done they stopped pedaling. Adam helped Kim off the bike before taking the canvases over to the desk. "These look great! While you both change out I'm gonna put these in the rapid drier. They should be done in 10 minutes." The employee showed them where they could change our and clean up as their art dried. Adam paid the bill and they waited for the final product. After it was dry the employee took a photo of the couple with their art for them to post online. As they left they put the art in the trunk and drove towards their home. "Besides the night in AC this was the most fun I've had in a long time. Outside our bedroom obviously." Kim blurted our as Adam drove. "Well then my plan worked perfectly!" Adam was pleased with himself. "Yeah what's your plan?" Kim was very curious about this plan. "Make up for the childhood you missed out on. Bring out that smile that reaches ear to ear, hear you laugh like a child and see you completed happy. Tonight I saw a smile I never saw before. I would hate to wreck the Jeep in a compromising position if you know what I mean." Adam chuckled as she huffed. "Not a rejection darling. Just a delay." Adam promised as he continued to drive them home. The rest of the ride was full of tension, sexual tension.
