"Okay so we just have a few questions for you guys and then we can get out of your hair." Voight stated as he entered the room. "Have either of you had any threats against you?" He asked them. "No I haven't had any. I mean nothing that I'm aware of." Kim shrugged. "I haven't either though they were yelling for me to come out of the apartment. Maybe someone I locked up?" Adam offered. He looked back though when Kim gasped. "What? Did you think of something?" He asked her surprised since she hadn't mentioned anything. Now take a shower while I make you something to eat." Adam kissed her head and headed to the kitchen to start breakfast. He heard the shower turn and decided to call Kevin while he cooked. "Hey Ruz! How's it going this morning?" Kevin was surprised to hear from his friend. "Hey. Um yeah I think we are Okay this morning. Just calling to see if there was an update in the case." Adam asked keeping an ear out for Kim. "Yeah um. Well I hate to tell you this but you were right. Kim was right. Your dad owes a ton of money to a loan shark. He took that loan to pay off his gambling debt. We are just trying to get a location on the head of the organization so we can take them all down. And then you both will be safe." Kevin held back some details though. "How much did he owe?" Adam sighed. "He owed 120,000. He just couldn't stop gambling. So now his payments are 10% a month. He couldn't make the payments. I guess he came to you to pay it off. But you didn't so they came after you to get paid." Kevin felt like shit having to tell his friend this.
"It's not your fault. Don't take it on yourself. It's his debt. His problem." Kevin knew Adam was stewing over this now. "Yeah but Kim could have been killed because of him. I could have been. God! I'm done with him. I want him arrested. I cant do this again." Adam sighed heavily. "Look man I got go. Kim just got out of the shower. I will see you in a bit." Adam hung up and looked over at Kim who was dressed in leggings and a long tank top. "So what did Kevin say?" She asked looking at him nervously. "Um that we were right. He owed 120k. Couldn't make the payments, so he stopped making them. I wouldn't give him money so they came after me. They know who they are looking for but need to find a location to take them down." He watched her process the information.
"Here eat up. You need it." He handed her the plate and a drink before sitting himself. "You will still have security at the door so you are safe here. Or you can come to work with me if you are uncomfortable. You would be in the break room alone all day but you would be safe too. So I will leave it up to you." He offered her an option not sure what she was thinking. "I think I'm gonna stay here for the time being. We have laundry to do and I have the two calls and then I have shopping to do. I was going to have my assistant buy the things I need but I can do it instead. I already told Steven I was staying home today which he was fine with. I can also get my calendar set up on my phone for events going forward and pair them on your calendar. And go through my work out wear and see what needs to go. I promise I will be busy with nonsense all day." She pulled out her phone to start placing the first order.
"See this one is simple since it's the same every month. And now it's done. One down tons to go." She smiled a little sad but silly looking. "Perfect. I want a fashion show when it all arrives. And if they have any good guys stuff that's not super short or tight grab me some. We can model together." That brought a big smile to her face. "Perfect! Thank you! When he came back out Kim had a to go cup filled with coffee for him. "Here you go. Be safe today. Keep me posted and I will do the same. Love you babe!" Kim reached up to pull him into a deep kiss. "Love you too darling! Don't go anywhere without your guards okay?" He watched her nod as he headed out. She locked the door right away and started to shop for their new gear. Adam arrived at the district around 20 minutes later. He buzzed himself up avoiding the front desk as best as he could. He reach the bullpen to see a man sitting at his desk in cuffs. He was shocked for only a second but realized they had brought him in so they could talk. And probably arrest him.
"Hey pops! Enjoy getting my fiancé almost killed?" Adam asked dropping his bag in front of the desk. "Adam why am I here? I don't know what your talking about!" Bob tried to lie. "Give it up Bob. I already know. And because of you Kim was nearly killed. You better cooperate with this investigation. And when it's over, we're over. You are dead to me!" Adam spat as he turned and walked away. Leaving a stunned unit but an even more stunned Bob.
