Kim woke the next morning safe and comfortable on top of Adam. She watched him sleeping peacefully. She admired him, how adorable he looked while he slept. How handsome he was, how attractive he was. But most of all how much she had missed him while she was away. She never knew she could miss someone so terribly but she did. And she would be leaving again soon for London but she was happy for the time together. She got up super slowly heading to the bathroom before returning to bed. She found Adam slowly waking up. "Hey baby! Good morning!" Kim laid down on top of him again kissing him softly. "Hey good morning. I'm so happy you are here." He held her close loving this time together. "Are you sure you are still okay with me going to London?" Kim asked unsure how he felt about it. "Absolutely! I know I can't go that trip but I really want you to go. I know this is once in a lifetime time thing for you. So yes, go, enjoy London. Take lots of photos. Just please keep living your best life. You only have so many more days before you start rehearsals again. So just enjoy life. I will be here waiting." He watched her smile wide.

"Thank you! I love you so much!" She hugged him tight. "You never have to thank me! You are always killing it. So enjoy your down time. Have a blast!" He sat them up moving them so he was up against the head board. "Are you wanting to stay like this for bit?" He asked loving feeling her naked body on his. "Of course! You know I love naked time with you." She winked leaning down to bite his lip, tugging on it. "Oh that's how it's going to be this morning?" He laughed kissing her. "Oh that's exactly how it's going to be." Kim squealed as he flipped them over. "You are so going to get it!" He laughed diving right in kissing her body all over. Enjoying the taste of her skin. "Do whatever you please!" Kim moaned loudly. "Gladly." He loved her body throughly long after multiple mind blowing orgasms. He knew time was running out so he carried her to the shower washing her body lovingly. She returned the favor washing every inch of his body.

They dried off slowly not wanting to break the beautiful moment, the beautiful silence. "Should we head out to breakfast before I have to leave for work?" He watched her nod happily. They dressed, Adam in his work clothes, Kim in her sponsor gear. They headed to a local diner where they had a lovely breakfast just enjoying each other's company. "What's the plan for today?" He asked knowing she was still lost in her mind some. "Laundry, weeding the garden, resting my mind and body." She watched him smile. "Are you sore?" He smirked. "No not really. Just multiple weeks of stress held in. Need to relax and continue to heal more." She laughed a bit. "Gotcha. Well please enjoy your mental health day. You deserve it." He leaned in kissing her sweetly. "Of course my love. Be safe. No getting shot!" Kim was stern with that order. "You know I try my hardest not just for you but also for me. I will see you tonight." He kissed her hard in the parking lot making a scene for sure but neither cared. The couple headed in different directions as Adam had to work.

Kim returned home heading to the dock to order groceries for delivery. She really wanted to take it easy today as she was still pretty tired mentally from her trip. As she finished the order she headed back inside to start a load of wash. As soon as it was started she headed right back to the dock to rest more. It was relaxing her and calming all her nerves. Adam arrived to work jogging in with minutes to spare. "Morning!" Adam stated as he dropped his bag. "Hey. How was your night?" Kevin asked knowing it was probably insane. "It was great! We talked a bit after she ate dinner. She was smiling a bit more. Spent a lot of the night working through the feelings and frustrations. But the lights back on in her eyes this morning. And she plans to take it easy today." Adam shrugged a bit. "Glad she's doing okay. She looked relieved to be home." Kevin followed Adam as they headed for coffee. "Yeah she's happy to be at the lake again. Relaxing, healing, breathing." Adam knew she would be fine with time. He just wasn't sure how long it would take.

They both noticed Erin and Jay joined them. "So what did you guys talk about?" Jay asked unsure where her head was at. "We talked about Jim. How he had visitors yesterday and how he was alert, focused on golf. He told them all that Kim had given him the bracelet he was wearing. She was very happy about that. Though she was sure he didn't remember the significance of it but she was thrilled he knew she gave it to him." He was smiling knowing how happy that made her. "What was the significance of it?" Erin asked not having a clue. "So Kim told me that the black bead has mud from the lowest point on earth and it's a reminder to stay hopeful when you feel hopeless. And the white bead is water from the highest point on earth and it's a reminder to stay humble when you feel on top of the world. She wears them everyday saying it's a good reminder in a crazy life. She ordered me one of the basic ones so I can support that as well. I think it's nice." He shrugged a bit. "I love that! Send me the info! I want to look into those. Are they expensive?" Erin asked wanting to look into in. "Nope most are under 25. They are silicone, they can get wet and they support tons of different charities and causes." Adam sent Erin the link so she could look for herself.

They watched Erin excited to shop which was rare but they enjoyed it. "I added a few to my cart already!" Erin laughed. "Kim will be thrilled. You can twin some days." Adam chuckled as he headed to desk. "Wow man! I'm surprised you came in today. I figured you would take the day off." Antonio was shocked. "Nah man. We have too many trips coming up to use personal days for no reason." He shrugged like it was nothing. "We figured you would probably be too sore to work." Antonio busted on him. "Oh please! You have no idea." Adam smirked sitting at his desk. "So how many rounds?" Jay laughed knowing it would be nuts. "Ha! Between last night and this morning she had 10, I had 8. I think." He heard Antonio choke on his coffee. "How the hell is that even possible?" Antonio was beyond shocked. "Really it's not that hard. And Kim's a big fan of the orgasm without penetration and I enjoy it too. So it's a good time." He paused for just a moment.

"You know you should really try it. Have a real, open, honest conversation with Brett. Let her take control some time. And stopping after one shouldn't be an option." He just tried to keep the conversation clean but honest. "Not to sound like a complete prude but how did you give an orgasm without penetration?" Antonio asked hearing gasps around the room. "Oh man buddy! Really? God damn!" Jay was almost rolling laughing. "What I married Laura right out of high school and only had a few people since then." He tried to defend himself but the laughing continued. "Okay let me try to explain as best I can without being too over the top. So you start by kissing. Then move your mouth down her neck to her breasts. Sucking, licking, nipping, biting them while your fingers play with the core area but not going inside. The two together cause a pretty crazy orgasm. Also you can just use your tongue, mouth and teeth on the core area. Flicking the clit, nipping it, licking it, sucking it also works really well. Does that help a bit?" Adam asked after explaining. He did see the shocked looks on most of their faces except Erin and Jay who probably play the same way.

"And Kim pierced her..." Jay wiggled his eye brows. "Right?" He finished. "Oh yeah. She was 15 in Amsterdam. She said it hurt like hell but doesn't regret it." Adam smirked knowing they all got the drift. "So you play with that too?" Antonio asked. "Yeah tugging on it with my teeth, pulling on it. Yeah it's a huge turn on for us both." He never realized how boring some people's sex life was. He felt bad for them but also grateful that he had a wife that loved to play. "Dude you need to step it up! Try new positions, outfits, whipped cream, cuffs, blindfolds. Don't be boring! Spice it up!" Kevin shook his head this time. "Something to think about that's for sure." Adam was thankful that was the end of the conversation. The team got to work on their current case. That was much more important than talking about anyone's sex life.

It was around 1 when Kim showed up at the district. She had cooked for the team like she had promised to do when they visited the house. "Hey Platt! Can you buzz me up please?" Kim had her arms full with a crockpot and bowls, spoons and napkins. "Yeah of course!" She helped Kim up the stairs holding the gate open for her. "Hope y'all are hungry!" Kim smiled wide knowing they would be surprised but happy. "Darling you cooked for us all?" Adam jumped up to grab the pot from her hands. "Well I did promise taco pasta one day so I made a double batch for everyone." She smiled happily. "You are amazing! Thank you for this!" He hugged her tight as the team filed in to get some lunch. Jay had texted Mouse who literally ran up the stairs to get some. "You got here fast!" Jay laughed. "You said Kim cooked. No way I missing this!" Mouse hugged her before grabbing a bowl and spoon. As everyone sat they drug in. Moans coming from around the table. "So damn good!" Kevin moaned as he continued to eat. "Really this is very good Kim. Thank you for cooking for us all." Voight was happy to see her back in Chicago but also that she cooked. He loved a home cooked meal and didn't get it often since his wife passed away.

"You are all welcome. I know I haven't been around much lately but I do appreciate you all keeping Adam safe while I was away. I know the emotional toll it had taken on him too. So I appreciate you all supporting us both." Kim was loving this family she had found in Adams team. "Well this is your family now. And this is what family does. We support!" Al knew she never knew a true family before. The team continued to eat as the couple just leaned on each other. "Did you finalize plans for London?" Adam asked knowing she was on the fence earlier. "Um I made my flight reservations today. The game tickets were already purchased and I got them from a friend who had someone bail. And that person already had a room booked so the reservation was changed into my name and my points were applied so the room is free essentially. So I got lucky for sure. The hotel is a five minute walk to the stadium. And there are shops and restaurants literally across the walkway. So I think I'm set for the most part." Kim shrugged a bit.

"Sounds great. I'm sure it will be a blast. What time is your flight?" He asked wondering how she planned it. "It's at 9:50 at night Wednesday night. And it lands at like 11:30 am in London. So hopefully I can sleep on the flight. I only bought business class. I couldn't justify 6000 for first class round trip. Even business class was 2300 round trip. My flight home leaves at like 6pm and absolutely not sold out so hopefully I can get an upgrade on the way home." Kim explained. "That's insane for a flight. But I'm happy you are going. You will have a blast for sure. Are you excited?" He watched her eyes light up. "Of course! I'm sad you can't make it but later in the month we have a trip together so it's all good. I will make you a promise right now." Kim held out a pinky finger. He laughed wrapping his finger around hers.

"I promise I will not buy a Birkin bag. In the home of the Birkin, I will not buy one!" She laughed but promised. "Well thank god for that! I've seen you looking at them and it's stupid expensive for a stupid purse. And I know it's a status symbol but you seriously don't need to spend that much on a stupid purse." He watched her pout but they laughed a bit too. "I know but it's a Birkin!" They both laughed but knew she really didn't need it. "Maybe once my promotion deal clears for a while. It's seriously is a huge status symbol. But I don't need it. I really don't. It's a pipe dream." She sighed wistfully. "I know. Maybe one day." He kissed her head lovingly. "Alright let me clean up so you can work and I can head home to relax again." Kim got up cleaning up after them. It was easy work for sure. She left the leftovers for whoever wanted them. "Let me help you to the car." He carried the dirty crockpot to the car for her placing it in the trunk.

"Thank you for this. It was very lovely. And delicious! Like you!" He kissed her hard not realizing the team was watching them from the windows. "See that dude?" Kevin pointed to them while looking at Antonio. "That's what you need to find. That fire. It's clear as day watching them." Kevin headed back to his desk leaving them all to do whatever. "Okay my baby. Be safe. Love you so much." Kim kissed him again. "I love you too darling!" He placed one last kiss on her lips before she left. He headed back into her work with a pep in his step. He got back to work not knowing they had all been watching them. Kim had arrived home putting the crockpot insert in the dishwasher running it right away so it would clean easier. She worked on the laundry before she headed right back to the dock to relax again. She could feel some anxiety but wasn't sure where it was coming from so she decided to meditate on the dock to calm whatever was brewing inside.

She felt better when she was finished but still hadn't a clue what triggered her. But she chose not to worry about it in the moment. She did notice her little buddy coming to find her. She opened the door allowing him inside the dock area. He jumped right up on her, purring and drooling on top of her. It was adorable and she truly enjoyed it. It allowed her to relax further, settling her mind more. Adams team caught a lead and they all headed out to the potential location. They were all decked out in black out gear and with bullet proof vests as they surrounded the house. They entered the home guns blazing. Gun fire was received and returned. Somehow the team managed to walk away unharmed. The main suspect was taken into custody and the house searched for additional evidence. They needed this guy to go away for ever not just a few years.

They finished up the case around 6, Adam headed straight home wanting to hold Kim tight. It had been a scary day for sure. He was just thankful to be heading home to Kim. He arrived practically running into their home. He found her right away on the deck staring at the water. "Hey darling!" He watched her turn excited to see him but saw he was struggling. "Hey what happened?" She jumped up to hug him. "Nasty shootout at a perps house. None of us injured but it was still very scary. Just need you to relax me, calm me." He held her close feeling his heart beat slowing. "I got you. And I'm thrilled you are safe and sound. It's okay to be shook up after that. But you are safe here always." She held him till he was ready to break contact. "How about we order some dinner and just relax on the dock?" She watched him smile. "Sounds great. Thank you." They headed in to order the food before heading to the bedroom to change. He needed to change out of those clothes to fresh ones to replace the memory of earlier.

They headed to the deck seeing Kim's little friend waiting for her. "Wonder how this is going to go?" She laughed a bit. "Hey my buddy. You missed me already?" Kim laid back on the lounger but they both noticed the cat never moved. "Oh are you nervous about him." Kim pointed to Adam. "He's safe buddy. But you take your time." Kim stayed where she was as Adam sat in a chair close to her. "Do we know his name?" Adam asked. "I don't know. I just call him boots since he has white feet." Kim laughed a bit. "Sounds about right." It took a few minutes before the cat moved closer to Kim laying on the ground flopping around. "Oh no little dude! That's called a trap! I'm not falling for that!" Kim laughed but Adam was confused. "Most cats hate their belly being rubbed. So most times when they do that it's a trap to kick and bite your hands. So not happening." Kim laughed watching the cat trying to grab her attention.

They both noticed how he grabbed Adam's shoe and started to bite it and kick it. "Hey not cool dude!" Adam was slightly pissed off. "Better your shoe than my foot or hand." Kim looked over. "True! I do agree but still. Is this normal?" He had no idea. "Yup. Completely normal." Kim shrugged a bit. "Cats are strange but they're sweet. They just have to be in the mood and on their time. Cats choose people based on their personality. They tend to find like minded people when you let them choose you." Kim explained. "Well if you ever want to get another one then we can go together to look for one." He knew she wasn't ready but he wanted to offer so she always knew. "Maybe one day when I'm not traveling as much. It's unfair to them to be alone all the time. I would hate to think they felt abandoned. Plus it's a lot of work if it# a kitten. And the vet bills when they are sick are insane. Then they pass and it kills your heart a bit. It's hard to explain." She was still watching their little friend. Who was now cleaning himself. "Yo little dude! I don't need to see your bum hole!" Kim laughed but so did Adam. "Not cool little man!" He laughed but the cat didn't care and just did his own thing.

"Dinner is here. Be right back." Kim headed inside watching the cat scurrying off. She thanked the delivery person and brought the food to the deck with dishes and silverware. "This looks great thank you. I really just need to crash after this case." He sighed, it had been scary but he was so grateful they all walked out alive. "How about a beer?" Kim asked knowing they didn't have hard liquor at the house. It was still at the penthouse. "Sure thank you." He would gladly take it today. They ate in relative silence but it was needed. Letting the couple sit with their feelings and process them. When the food was long gone Kim had an idea. "How about we grab the air mattress and all the stuff we need and sleep in the screened in porch tonight?" She watched the smile come over his face. "God I love that idea. Sounds perfect." The couple moved the leftovers inside, filling the dishwasher before grabbing everything they needed for the night ahead. Including a cooler with a few drinks.

Kim set up the mattress while Adam brought the extra fan down. It was June so it tended to be warmer and more humid. "This is really the best idea ever. Just what we needed." He hugged her then helped put the sheets on the bed. It wasn't dark yet but they still enjoyed lying watching the sunset over the lake. They took several photos of the view to share with friends. It was in that moment that Adam realized the place that was supposed to save Kim, heal Kim was saving him as well. He had never been more thankful for going along with a crazy, impulsive decision. Because that one crazy, impulsive decision was the best thing they had ever done and would be for a lifetime to come.
