In the UFO, Rubeus was once again in council with the Wiseman, who was using his crystal ball to predict Rubeus' future.
"Rubeus, there are two paths before you," the Wiseman said. "One path is one of glory that will lead you to victory. The other will lead you to death, the dark path of defeat."
The fiery-colored man, gulped nervously. "Glory or defeat?" he repeated.
"Rubeus, the way I see it, you only have one option of staying alive," the Wiseman went on ominously. "You must eliminate the Rabbit and the Guardians."
"I'm aware of that!" Rubeus snapped. "And I'm more than willing to sacrifice any of my remaining pawns to be able to grab the glory of victory!"
It was a sunny day in Juuban. Usagi and the gang, including Chibiusa, Koan, and Berthier, were all over at the Hikawa Shrine, raking the leaves around the area. Chibiusa was having great fun throwing the leaves into the air like confetti, much to Usagi's annoyance.
"Chibiusa! Stop throwing those leaves around! We just raked those!" Usagi barked crossly. "Why don't you pitch in and help us work?!"
"Says the person who shamelessly showed up only because Rei mentioned a baked potato party," Chibiusa shot back.
Usagi got very angry. "You can't talk to me like that! I'm older than you! As a child, you should learn to respect your senior!"
But Chibiusa only stuck her nose in the air and humphed snootily. Koan then noticed that there was a leaf in her hair and politely took it off.
"Thank you so much, Koan," thanked Chibiusa.
"Women must have beautiful hair," smiled Koan. "You have to take special care of it."
"You're so nice," Chibiusa grinned. "I wish that I had a big sister like you."
As Berthier swept up some of the leaves alongside Ami and Harusuke, she couldn't help but admire the scenery around her, marveling at the leaves fluttering about in the wind.
"I never knew how lovely this world is," Berthier mused. "I got wrapped in fighting so much, that I never really noticed what you have here. Not to mention, you're all such good people," A remorseful frown crossed her features. "I'm sorry for what we tried to do. What we were doing was wrong," she apologized. "We would love to make it up to you by fighting the dark force we were once a part of, but we don't know how, nor do we have anything that could help. We were nothing but puppets, blindly following our master's instructions."
"Come on, Berthier. It's okay," soothed Harusuke. "Please don't worry about it. You weren't in your right mind. I mean, why waste time dwelling over something that already happened?"
"Harusuke's right," said Ami. "Besides, we're all just glad that you and your sister Koan, are here and have become our friends."
"Thank you both so much," Berthier smiled. "I just wish our other two sisters could see things the way we do now."
After they all raked the leaves, Makoto soon started cooking the potatoes and was finished.
"Alright! They're done," Makoto grinned.
"Yay! I call first dibs!" Usagi cried joyfully. "Gimme, gimme, gimme!"
"Not so fast, Usagi," Makoto said, as she gave it to Chibiusa. "The first potato goes to Chibiusa."
"What?! No fair!" whined Usagi. "I deserve it! I worked so hard!" She then grabbed Chibiusa by the scruff of her collar as the pink ordango hurriedly munched away on it. "Chibiusa! Give me the other half of that!" she ordered.
"Usagi, take it easy, would you?" Harusuke sighed. "You're throwing a tantrum over a potato."
"Besides, you should be ashamed of yourself trying to grab a child's food right out of her mouth," Minako scolded.
"But she didn't do a lick of work! All she did was scatter the leaves around! Usagi countered. "Besides, it's too big for her!"
But Usagi was wrong, for right then, Chibiusa soon finished the potato in a matter of seconds much to the ordango blonde's surprise. Then, when Chibiusa swallowed, she rudely burped right in Usagi's face, which caused Usagi to let go of her out of disgust, after getting a strong whiff of her breath. Now Usagi was very angry. The two then began running all around Hikawa Shrine, Usagi desperately trying to catch Chibiusa out of revenge.
"Chibiusa! Why you little brat!" Usagi roared. "That was not only gross, but that was supposed to be mine!"
"Can't catch me!" Chibiusa mocked as she ran. "Catch me if you can!"
Everyone could only watch the two chase each other, exasperated and annoyed.
Back in the UFO, Petz and Calaveras were watching the scene from above, feeling disgusted with what they were seeing, mostly because their two sisters were a part of it.
"I don't believe this!" Petz seethed, as she pounded the mirror with her fist, cutting off the feed. "As the Black Moon Clan's elite Spectre Sister, it's appalling to see how far the youngest of us have fallen!"
"Are we just going to ignore those two, Petz?" wondered Calaveras. "They not only have disgraced us, but we could end up losing our credibility too."
Rubeus then appeared. "Exactly, which is why I'm extremely disappointed that two of the Spectre Sisters have betrayed our clan," he said, crossly. "It's completely unacceptable. Why did you two allow that to happen? Surely, you two didn't think you could get off scot-free?"
"It's not out fault!" protested Calaveras. "We had nothing to do with it!"
"Master Rubeus, let me assure you that we're nothing like our foolish younger sisters," said Petz. "We will eliminate them along with the Rabbit and the Guardians!"
Rubeus rose a brow interest. "Oh? You sure seem confident, Petz. Are you sure that you and Calaveras can?"
"Yes, we can!" assured Petz.
Calaveras was surprised, not expecting Petz to speak for the two of them. "But Petz, wait a minute-!"
But Rubeus cut her off. "Very good. In that case, allow me to present you both with some gifts."
He then snapped his fingers, and the black ball of energy he had received before, floated downwards shrank to a small size and stopped just in front of Petz. It then dissipated, revealing a strange wand. It was a rod with a crystal ball on top, the rod being purple with a yellow line wrapped around it, and in the ball was a green gem, like the one the droids had.
"What is this?" wondered Petz curiously.
"It's a special wand that will prove quite useful to you," said Rubeus. "It will amplify your dark powers tenfold. Its power comes from Prince Demande himself. Use it to eliminate the Rabbit, the Guardians, and your two traitorous sisters. If you fail, don't bother coming back. Understood?"
Calaveras was worried, but once again, Petz spoke before she could object.
"Understood!" Petz acknowledged. "We won't fail you, Rubeus."
"Very well, then. I wish you luck," Rubeus said, as he disappeared into the darkness.
When he was gone, Calaveras looked across to Petz,
"Should you have agreed so easily, Petz?" Calaveras asked. "You could have at least consulted with me first. It's embarrassing that you speak for both of us as if I'm not here."
"Get over it," scoffed Petz. "And while you're at it, make sure that you don't get in my way."
"What do you mean by that?!" Calaveras spoke indignantly. "You're the one who's always in my way with your lousy attempts to do better than me!"
"Look who's talking! I have to take the lead because of inept people like you, Koan, and Berthier!" Petz shot back. "And besides, I'm the one who received this wand, so it's only fair that I get to use it!"
The two then grabbed the wand and started fighting over it, both Spectre Sisters wanting the power for themselves. Petz then managed to take it back, and the two turned away from each other in a huff feeling cross at each other.
Usagi was overeating on potatoes while everyone else did their own thing. Koan was brushing Chibiusa's hair, Ami was playing chess with Berthier, and Minako, Rei, Makoto, and Harusuke were reading manga.
"Usagi, don't you think you've had enough potatoes?" Makoto asked. "You're going to gain weight."
"So what? I don't care," Usagi spoke between bites. "This is heaven on Earth!"
"You say that, but that kind of attitude is the kind that made someone dump you," Rei huffed snootily.
Everyone gulped as they looked at Rei disdainfully, and Usagi began to cry comically.
"Rei, can't you get through one day without insulting Usagi?" Harusuke groaned. "Honestly, sometimes I wonder if you're even friends with her at all."
"It's not my fault," Rei huffed. "She's the one asking for it."
"More importantly, Usagi, overeating has been proven to slow the mind and makes you very sleepy," said Ami importantly. "You really should watch your diet, so you can stay awake and study. You owe it yourself as a student, after all."
"And eating too many sweet potatoes can have another unpleasant effect," Makoto added.
"That's right. You might end up passing gas," warned Minako.
"Oh, be quiet! I don't care what happens!" Usagi replied hufiily as she bit into another potato. "I just want to eat my potatoes in peace!"
Then, at that moment, Usagi let out a loud toot, which was heard by everyone.
"Ew, that was gross," Everyone except Usagi said.
"Aw, come on, it wasn't that bad," Usagi said, blushing with embarrassment.
Harusuke, who just so happened to be close to Usagi, took a whiff of a foul odor. Immediately from smelling it, the poor boy's face turned green, and then, he fell to the floor practically fainting. Ami and Makoto rushed over to their friend, surprised as well as worried along with everyone else.
"Harusuke! Are you okay?!" Ami cried.
"Say something! You're not dead, are you?!" Makoto spoke as she sat him up.
Harusuke dizzily spoke. "Nope. I'm still alive, but I did see my life flash before my eyes just now."
Then suddenly, Usagi happened to see something in the sky that made her shoot up to her feet, dropping her potatoes.
"Hey, you guys! What is that?!" Usagi cried, pointing.
The others then looked up as well to see that high above them, was a strange green light, which remained where it was at first, and then slowly began to lower towards them. Then suddenly, it shone even brighter, illuminating the area and shooting vine-like beams of light straight toward Chibiusa. Reacting immediately, Berthier and Petz both jumped in the way of the rays shielding the girl, only for them to wrap around them, lifting them up and away.
"No! Koan! Berthier!" cried Chibiusa.
Koan and Berthier cried for help as the two were swallowed up by the light, then the light shot back up into the sky flew away into the distance. Everyone was shocked and well confused as to what had just happened.
"What the heck was that?!" cried Minako.
"I don't know, but whatever that was, it took Koan and Berthier!" Harusuke said. "We've got to rescue them!"
Usagi quickly hid Chibiusa in the closet, wanting to keep her out of danger.
"Chibiusa, I need you to stay here, and don't come out no matter what!" ordered Usagi as she shut the door.
As the pinkette ordango sat in the darkness, Chibiusa felt shocked, frightened, but she mostly felt more terrible for what happened to Koan and Berthier.
"They're gone... Koan and Berthier were both taken because they were protecting me," Chibiusa thought. "It's all my fault."
It was then that Chibiusa knew what she had to do, as she opened the closet door, running down the hall.
"I've got to contact the Guardians! They're the only ones who can help me save them!"
As Chibiusa came to the entrance of the shrine leading outside, she heard an unfamiliar voice.
"Everyone! Transform, now!"
Curious as to who the voice belonged to, Chibiusa peeked through the gate, in time to see Usagi and the gang raise their transformation items and much to her shock and disbelief, they transformed.
"MOON CRYSTAL POWER..!"
"SOLAR PRISM POWER...!"
"MERCURY STAR POWER...!"
"MARS STAR POWER...!"
"JUPITER STAR POWER...!"
"VENUS STAR POWER...!"
"MAKE UP!"
"BLAZE FORTH!"
Transformation Sequence: Usagi
Usagi holds up the Crystal Star brooch as it opens, revealing the Silver Crystal inside. Usagi waved her hand on the Silver Crystal, and it flashed in a bright short burst of pink light emitting a chime. It does this a second time, and on the third, it shines brightly enveloping Usagi in its glow. Usagi then holds the brooch above her head, suspending it in between her hands, drawing it to the center of her torso, flipping it once before placing it in the center of her chest. She then spins around a few times as the crystal begins to glow even brighter than before in pink light. She holds her hands up as a pair of wings spring forth from her back while pink ribbons came out from the crystal wrapping around Usagi's body, forming her leotard. The wings on her back disappear as more pink ribbons wrapped around her arms and hands, creating her white gloves and her red boots around her calves and feet. As the blue skirt appears around her waist, one more pink ribbon ties at her back as she does a kind of spread-eagle motion with one leg up, a glowing moon symbol appearing on her forehead. Her tiara, earrings, choker, and ordango covers materialize, and Usagi now Sailor Moon, finishes with her signature pose.
Transformation Sequence: Harusuke.
Harusuke holds up his hand as the stone on his bracelet shines bright in golden light. The stone lets out three pulses, the symbol of the Sun glowing inside of it on the third pulse. Harusuke is enveloped in silver and gold light as he jumps to into the air, his clothes disappearing. The symbol of the sun appears just above him and goes down phasing through his body, making his silver jumpsuit with gold lines on the sides materialize. Two smaller symbols of the sun go over his feet to his kneecaps, and his gold and metal boots, and silver kneecaps appear. Around his waist, a ring of light wraps around it, forming a belt with a gold belt buckle in the shape of an oval. Harusuke then spreads his arms out wide as two more rings of light envelop his arms and hands, making gold gloves appear. The symbol of the sun appears in front of him now, and crashes into his chest, making his chest piece appear the same as before, but was thicker and had shoulder guards. Finally, a helmet materializes above Harusuke's head, the design slightly different as he reaches and grabs hit, putting it on his head, not having a mouth protector. Harusuke opens his eyes, punches his hands together, and strikes his signature pose, the symbol of the sun appearing behind him with a star-filled background.
Transformation Sequence: Ami
Ami held up her hand as blue sparkles swirled around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright blue. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. The logo on it begins to turn, enveloping Ami in blue light. Then she sweeps the pen over her head as a stream of sparkling blue water begins to emit from it, forming her leotard, boots, and gloves. A sparkling ripple, as well as a flurry of bubbles, expands over her body, creating a small mist of water that formed the rest of her uniform the same as Sailor Moon's but the center bow, boots, and rims on the gloves were blue and bright blue. She turns around and then strikes her signature pose.
Transformation Sequence: Rei
Rei holds up her hand as red sparkles swirl around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright red. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. The logo on the stick begins to turn as Rei is enveloped in red light. As she held up her pen while spinning around, long bright tongues of flame erupt from her pen, forming several rings around her body. The rings of fire tighten around her body and in a brilliant flash of light, her outfit forms looking just like Sailor Moon's, but she is wearing red pumps along with a pair of red star-shaped earrings, the center bow is purple, and the rims of her gloves, her skirt, her choker, and collar are red. After that, Mars finishes with her signature pose.
Transformation Sequence: Makoto
Makoto holds up her hand as green sparkles swirl around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright green. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. It begins to turn around rapidly, enveloping Makoto in green light. As she held up her pen while spinning around, long streams of lightning erupt from her pen. It encircles her body, forming an atom of sorts before exploding in a brilliant flash of light. Her outfit forms, having to look just like Sailor Moon's, wearing green boots along with her pair of roses earrings, the bow is pink, and the rims of her gloves green as is her skirt, her choker, and collar. After that, Jupiter finishes with her signature pose.
Transformation sequence: Minako.
Minako holds up her hand as golden stars swirl around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright orange. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. It begins to turn as Minako is enveloped in yellow light. Then she sweeps the pen over her head as banners of golden stars emit from it. Minako then holds up the pen above her head as the banners of stars forms a spiral around her body. They disappear into the ground, forming a circle of stars and burst into more stars going upwards, enveloping Minako's body. Then Minako emerges wearing the same outfit as Sailor Moon's, the center bow, boots, and rims on the gloves colored orange, her back bow, yellow, and her center bow, blue. She then opens her eyes as she struck her signature pose.
The Guardians then took off running, on a mission to save their captured friends, unaware that Chibiusa had seen them, her face frozen with shock and disbelief.
"So what does the enemy want?" wondered Sailor Jupiter as she ran.
"To kill Koan and Berthier for being traitors, I bet," said Sailor Mars.
"Don't even say that!" objected Sailor Venus. "That's too cruel!"
"That may be so, but we have to consider the worst-case scenario!" Solaris said. "I wouldn't be surprised if Petz, Calaveras, and Rubeus were behind this."
"We mustn't give up hope!" Sailor Mercury said, as she pressed a button on her earrings, making her visor appear over her eyes. "I'm picking up an unusual energy reading coming from the west!"
"Hurry, everyone!" Artemis cried.
"In that case, I'm going to hit the skies!" Solaris panted. "I should be able to spot them from the air!"
"Once you do, try to stall for time as much as you can!" said Luna. "We'll catch up with you!"
Solaris then jumped shooting up into the sky as everyone else continued to run as fast as they could. As they did, they didn't realize that Chibiusa and Luna P were following close behind them in hot pursuit.
In the western part of Juuban, at a bridge under construction, Calaveras and Petz were there along with an unconscious Koan and Berthier, both of them being encased in a bubble barrier created by Petz.
"You know, Big Sister, I'm having a hard time believing that the Guardians would come to rescue these traitorous scumbags," Calaveras spoke doubtfully. "Why don't we just kill them now and be done with it?"
"Have a little patience," Petz chuckled. "They'll come just you wait."
"Whatever you say," Calaveras huffed, feeling annoyed. "But I must admit, that stick sure has awesome powers."
"Its infinite power is surging through my body," Petz said, reveling at her new might. "At this moment, I'm invincible!"
Calaveras leaned in close to Petz, inspecting her face. "And you know what else? Even your complexion is looking so much better! Let me have a try!"
But then as Calaveras reached for the wand, Petz immediately waved it and gave Calaveras a nasty shock of her black lightning, making her yelp in surprise and pain.
"Why do you have to be so stingy, Petz?!" Calaveras complained.
"Koan and Berthier already disgraced the Spectre name with their betrayal," Petz spoke coldly. "And I don't feel like I can trust you either."
Calaveras was surprised, but before she could protest, Berthier and Koan stirred as they finally started to wake up.
"Well, now. It looks like the scum have awakened," Petz smirked.
"Petz, Calaveras! What do you want with the two of us?" Koan demanded.
"We want you to tell us where the Guardians and the Rabbit are," Petz ordered.
Koan and Berthier didn't want to. However, they also wanted to try and reason with their sisters.
"We're only willing to do that if you promise to stop fighting with them!" Koan said.
"Why are you even suggesting such a thing?!" Calaveras exclaimed crossly.
"It's because we've realized the true nature of Rubeus and the Black Moon Clan," Koan said.
"It's a frightening clan that is willing to do whatever it takes to satisfy their evil ends!" added Berthier. "Including its allies!"
"That's the nature of Battle, dear sisters, where the victor is always right," Calaveras spoke coldly.
"And love and friendship mean nothing!" Petz added, as she aimed her wand at the two. "Now, the two of you can die!"
She was about to unleash her Dark Thunder when a ball of light shot out, forcing Petz to dodge it just in the nick of time. Petz and Calaveras looked behind them, to see Solaris coming towards them.
"Looks like I'm late to the party," Solaris spoke as he stopped, hovering in the air. "Mind if I join in?"
"Well, if it isn't, Solaris, butting in unwanted as usual," Petz growled, maliciously. "Just like a man to interfere."
"And you're just as pleasant as you always been, Petz," Solaris countered. "Petty with a side of Short Temper." He then looked across to Petz and Berthier, who, still trapped in their bubble. "Let Koan and Berthier go. I don't want to have to fight you two if I have to."
"In that case, sorry to disappoint you, Solaris, but we have no intention of letting these traitors go," Calaveras said, brandishing her whip. "They did the foolish thing by turning their backs to the Black Moon Clan, and will pay for their betrayal. And now, you will pay for not minding your own business!"
She was just about to pounce towards Solaris, when Petz cut her off.
"He's mine!" Petz yelled, as she aimed with her stick making it crackle with her power. "DARK THUNDER!"
A powerful blast of black lightning, shot out from the stick, and Solaris moved out of the way just in time, feeling the power radiating from it.
"This attack! It's nothing like the last time!" Solaris thought. "It's way stronger!"
Petz then shot another stream of light, and Solaris dodged again, then suddenly, a whip belonging to Calaveras cracked as it made to wrap around Solaris' waist. But Solaris dipped to avoid once again, hovering downward. Petz clicked her tongue in annoyance, realizing that this wasn't getting anywhere. Then she got an idea. A devious idea that made her smirk with sadism, as she pointed her wand at Berthier and Koan, releasing a blast of lightning which electrified the whole barrier causing Koan and Berthier to scream in pain, which made Solaris stop.
"Koan! Berthier!"
"Solaris, if you truly value the safety of these two, then stay right where you are," Petz smirked maliciously. "Otherwise, the next one will send them to their graves."
Solaris barred his teeth in anger as he glared, knowing full well that Petz will carry out her threat. At that moment, Peta then fired another stream of her Dark Thunder, this time it hit, making Solaris scream in agony as he was shocked by the volts, and fell to the ground, stunned and sparking.
Both Calaveras and Petz laughed mocking him, while Koan and Berthier were horrified, however, Solaris was able to get back up, albeit a bit shakily.
"What a foolish boy, you are, Solaris. Dropping your guard all for the sake of protecting our former sisters," mocked Calaveras. "It goes to show that friendship and love are meaningless and your greatest weakness."
Solaris looked up, his eyes leering bravely. "Say what you will, but I'm not about to put Koan and Berthier in more danger, and I'll do whatever it takes to save them, even give up my life to do so!"
Petz felt even more annoyed, and was about to unleash another blast of thunder, when a familiar voice called out from below.
"Not so fast! Hate to break to you, but you two couldn't be more wrong!"
Everyone immediately looked down and standing a few feet away on the bridge just behind Solaris, was Sailor Moon and the rest of the Guardians, much to Koan, Berthier, and Solaris' delight.
"We fight for the sake of this lovely planet!" Sailor Mars said.
"For kind-hearted people!" Sailor Mercury said.
"For the trees, flowers, and all of Mother Nature's creations!" Sailor Jupiter said.
"And for love, happiness, and a beautiful future!" said Sailor Venus.
"And you want to trample on all of that?!" Sailor Moon spoke crossly. "Not while we're around! And now, in the name of the Moon..."
"We'll punish you!" all five of them finished together.
"Well, now. It seems I was right after all," Petz chuckled. "How predictable. All of you Guardians came here on a fool's errand to rescue these two."
"Didn't you know or even consider this was a trap?" Calaveras asked.
"Yes, we did," Sailor Mars scowled. "But, we followed you here, anyway!"
"And we want our friends back!" Sailor Mercury said. "Now, give them back to us!"
"Your so-called friends? Our traitorous sisters?" Calaveras mocked. "What a laugh!"
"I've had enough of this nonsense!" Petz spat crossly. "I'll kill every last one of you!"
"Be careful, girls!" Solaris yelled. "Petz is even stronger than before! Don't let her hit you with her lightning!"
But his warning came a bit too late, as Petz released her Dark Thunder once again at the Sailor Guardians. Luckily, the girls jumped out of the way just in the nick of time, but the attack was so strong, that it blasted straight through the concrete, creating a large hole.
"Oh, wow!" Sailor Moon gulped nervously. "That was too close!"
Then, Petz let out a yell as she raised her wand, and from the shadows, a squadron of droids came out from the shadows, leering at them as they brandished their claws.
Calaveras was amazed as well as excited, wanting to try out the wand herself. "That was amazing, Petz! Now, let me try out the wand! I want to know what it feels like!"
But Petz growled at her sister. "It's mine! Back off!"
The eldest Spectre Sister then proceeded to attack the Guardians again and again with her Dark Thunder, as the droids attacked as well. Our heroes not only dodged the incoming attacks, but also took out the droids one by one. While this was happening, no one was aware that Rubeus was watching the whole time, as he hovered from above in the air, feeling very pleased.
"Petz and Calaveras," Rubeus said to himself, a red twinkle of malice gleaming in his eye. "When you two are unable to finish the job, I shall finish it for you."
As the Guardians managed to avoid another of Petz's Dark Thunder, Sailor Jupiter took her chance to counterattack.
"Let's fight thunder with thunder!" the Guardian of Jupiter yelled, as she clapped her hands together generating lightning in them. "JUPITER SPARKLING WIDE PRESSURE!"
Jupiter slung a mighty disc made of her thunder at Petz, only for Petz counter with Dark Thunder, which canceled out her attack in a manner of seconds. The blast continued on straight towards Jupiter causing her to jump to dodge, but as the attack hit the ground, a huge explosion erupted, creating a large cloud of smoke and sent Jupiter along with the other Guardians flying and to the ground hard along with the droids.
"Is everyone okay?!" Luna cried worriedly.
"We're fine, more or less," replied Sailor Jupiter. "She's several degrees more powerful than when we fought her last time!"
"But how did she?" wondered Sailor Venus. "And how are supposed to beat her?!"
"I don't know, but we'd better think of something quick," Solaris spoke grimly. "Otherwise, things are going to get worse for us, and I don't think I want to be those droids!"
Sailor Mercury then realized something. When she did, she activated her computer visor and gave a quick scan at Petz, and saw something important.
"Hey, you guys! I figured it out!" Sailor Mercury said. "It's that wand! My computer is picking up something an immense power coming from it! So if we're able to get that stick away from her, her powers should go back to normal!"
"In that case, leave it to me!" said Sailor Venus, as she summoned forth a chain of energy, firing it at Petz. "VENUS LOVE-ME CHAIN!"
But Petz saw Venus's chain coming and teleported out of the way, standing on one of the supporting chains of the bridge running down on it.
"She's moving way too fast!" cried Sailor Mars. "I'll get her! MARS BURNING MANDALA!"
Mars fired an array of rings made of fire at Petz, only for Petz to swat each and every one of them away like a bat with baseballs, as she ran at an incredible speed. Before anyone could counter or even try to defend themselves, Petz once again used the wand to unleash another Dark Thunder, blasting all of her enemies at once in a mighty explosion. When the smoke pulled clear, Koan and Berthier were horrified to see their heroes all on the ground in agony and pain as Petz landed on the ground, cackling in triumph and malice.
"I'll put you all out of your misery now," Petz smirked, as she aimed with her wand again.
"Please, stop this, Sister! That's enough already!" begged Berthier. "Stop hurting our friends and forget what Rubeus told you!"
"Once you do what he wants, he won't give you a second thought!" urged Koan. "He'll try to get rid of you just like he did to us! You can't trust him!"
"What is it with you two, anyway?" Calaveras scowled at the two. "Acting as if you both know better than us. Are you both trying to mess with our heads so we fail on our mission?"
"That's not it!" Koan said. "We're only telling you this for your own good!"
"Please believe us, Calaveras!" pleaded Berthier. "We're telling you the truth! Just listen to us!"
But Calaveras still wouldn't believe them. "Well, you two have outlived your usefulness, and I honestly don't want to hear about your stupid nonsense anymore." She then turned to Petz. "Sister, these traitors are getting annoying. Don't you think that it's time to get rid of them?"
Petz then looked up at them and flashed a smile of pure spite as she took aim with her wand. "With pleasure!"
She then unleashed a powerful bolt of lighting straight towards them, blasting not only Koan and Berthier, but also Calaveras too. The three sisters screeched in agony as Petz cackled in delight enjoying the show.
"Petz, stop it!" wailed Calaveras. "What are you doing?!"
"You have ridiculed and mocked me for as long as I can remember," Petz spoke with crazed malice. "But who's laughing now?! With this wand, my powers are infinite beyond compare! Soon, I will become the strongest in my clan, even going as far as surpassing Rubeus himself and becoming the new leader!"
The Guardians were shocked as was Calaveras.
"But why, Sister?!" Calaveras cried, wincing in pain. "What's gotten into you?!"
"You've all always disrespected me and put me down, but this time, I'm the one who's going to put you down. Perminately," Petz replied. "Besides, I don't need women like you who might betray me, Calaveras, so you can go to hell along with your traitorous sisters!"
Petz then amped up the power of her Dark Thunder shocking the three remaining sisters, even more, making them scream even louder in agony. The attack was so devastating, that the bubble that imprisoned Koan and Berthier popped, and the three, while still reeling from the attack, all began to plummet to the ground. Taking action immediately, Solaris, Sailor Mars, and Sailor Jupiter all rushed in to help them. Mars managed to catch Koan, Jupiter caught Berthier, and Solaris while jumping up to hover caught Caleveras helping her land on the ground safely.
"Koan, are you two okay?" Sailor Mars spoke worriedly.
Koan, who was still conscious opened her eyes. "We're fine. Thank you, Sailor Mars," she whispered weakly.
As she sat there on the ground, Calaveras sat there in disbelief, appalled as well as shocked with what Petz had tried to do to her. "I can't believe it," she murmured quietly. "My big sister tried to kill me too."
Then Sailor Moon walked up to Calaveras smiling kindly. "Are you all right?" she asked.
"That was a pretty nasty shock," Solaris said. "But I think you'll be okay, considering that you're still alive."
Calaveras looked at the two guardians now feeling confused. "I don't understand. We were threatening to kill you a few moments ago. Why do you both care?"
"Being concerned when someone's hurt feels like the right thing to do," Sailor Moon spoke gently.
"Is it common for people to do that sort of thing in this world?" Calaveras continued.
"Well, yeah. It's kind of what nice people like us do," said Solaris. "It's our thing after all."
Koan and Berthier then came over, each using Sailor Mars and Jupiter for support.
"What you're experiencing is the kind of love that humans possess," said Koan kindly
"It's something that we've all forgotten in the Black Moon Clan," smiled Berthier. "But thanks to the Guardians, they all reminded us about how wonderful it can be."
Calaveras then began to shed tears of emotion and remorse, her shoulders shaking with sobs. "I was so wrong with how I treated my sisters. Thank you for being so kind."
Then Petz rudely interrupted, ruining the touching atmosphere. "How pathetic. Then again Earth trash and Clan trash do blend in well with each other."
"Now you here, Petz!" Sailor Moon huffed crossly. "What you just did is going way past mean!"
"You're completely out of control, and we're going to stop you, right here and now!" Solaris added.
"How could you even attempt to kill your younger sisters like that?!" demanded Sailor Jupiter. "Are you that heartless?!"
Petz chuckled, not caring in the slightest. "They're useless garbage who can't do anything by themselves! They're nothing but just waste for me to get rid of, so who cares? All of you can just go to hell!"
The Guardians all glared crossly at Petz.
"Seems like there's no use getting through to her," Sailor Jupiter sighed.
"Wait! Don't give up on her just yet!" Calaveras spoke. "She's been completely taken over by the power of that wand! She's not normally like this!"
"But what can we do?" Sailor Mars asked. "We can't take the stick from her by ourselves!"
"Then there's only one thing we can do!" Sailor Mercury said. "And that's to combine powers! Everyone, follow my lead! MERCURY BUBBLE SPRAY!"
Mercury then released a flurry of bubbles which created a thick fog that blanketed the area, obscuring Petz's line of sight. Taking advantage, Sailor Venus used her powers next.
"VENUS LOVE-ME CHAIN!"
This time, when Venus fired her chain, it scored a direct hit, hitting Petz on her hand and forcing her to let go of the wand, making it fall to the ground with a clatter. Sailor Jupiter and Solaris then stepped up and attacked the wand at once.
"JUPITER SPARKLING WIDE PRESSURE!"
"SOLARIS ARROW OF SOL!"
Sailor Jupiter unleashed a disc of lightning while Solaris fired a golden arrow of light. Jupiter's attack blasted Petz out of the sky while Solaris' blasted the wand, making it fall into the water never to be seen again. Koan, Berthier, and Calaveras quickly rushed over to their sister, hoping that she'd be all right.
"Sister, are you okay?" asked Calaveras, as she tried to help her up.
Petz only swatted her hand away. "Keep your hands off of me! I don't want any of your pity!"
As the sisters were about to object, Rubeus suddenly appeared having to have seen everything. Thinking that Rubeus was displeased, Petz was ready to apologize as the Guardians prepared themselves to fight, but Rubeus was smiling.
"Well done, Petz. You've gathered the Guardians and the traitors into one place as I hoped you would," Rubeus spoke, a dark smile stretching his cheeks. "Even though I knew that I never believed that you could win in the first place, and had intended to take the glory for myself. Once the Guardians are out of the picture, I can handle the rest all by myself."
"But what about me?!" demanded Petz. "Where do I fit in?!"
"You don't," Rubeus sneered. "People like you are expendable, and can be easily replaced. You can go to hell with the Guardians and the rest of the trash!"
Petz couldn't believe her ears, as her eyes went wide. At that moment, something shot out of the water from below the bridge and appeared between the Guardians and the Spectre Sisters. It was the wand that once granted Petz with its immeasurable power.
"No way!" Solaris cried. "I thought I destroyed that thing!"
Rubeus then cackled. "Now you will experience the true power of the wand! You'll be sucked into the void between the dimensions!" He then disappeared.
The wand began to release a bright glow and turned into a gaping hole that began to suck in everything around it. Everyone quickly grabbed a hold of anything they could find to keep themselves from being sucked in while holding on for dear life, but the pull grew only stronger.
"If this keeps up, we'll be sucked in for sure!" shouted Sailor Moon.
"It's because of Petz using that wand!" Sailor Mercury yelled. "When she did it was giving off forward motion power! Rubeus must have somehow switched it into reverse!"
"So basically what you're saying it's now creating some kind of black hole?!" Sailor Jupiter called.
"Luna, isn't there any way to stop it!?" cried Sailor Mars.
"I'm afraid there isn't!" Luna shouted back. "He's created a dimensional tear, there's no way to fix that!"
"But there has to be something we can do!" Solaris yelled out. "We can't just sit here and do nothing!"
"Don't give up!" called out a voice from above. "It's not over yet!"
Everyone then looked up, and standing on top of a metal beam was a certain man in a tuxedo, cape, and top hat.
"Tuxedo Mask!" gasped Sailor Moon.
"Put all of your powers together, Guardians!" Tuxedo Mask yelled out. "I'm sure you'll be able to seal off the tear between the dimensions if you all work together!"
Artemis then had an idea. "He's right! We know the wand is creating tunnel-like space around it just like a black hole, which is trying to pull us into another dimension!" he called out. "However, if we surround it and project your combined powers to destroy it before you're sent to this other dimension, it should disappear!"
"That sounds a bit too risky!" Sailor Jupiter said. "In order for us to pull this off, we'll have to jump into the black hole!"
"I'm afraid that it's the only way!" said Luna. "It's risky, but I'm sure you guys can pull it off!"
"Luna's right!" said Solaris. "We've faced tougher odds before, and we shouldn't let this stop us now! Let's do it! We'll jump in on the count of three! Everyone ready?!"
Everyone nodded in response as they prepared to let go, and Solaris counted down.
"One, two, THREE!"
All of the Guardians then let go allowing themselves to fall into the black hole. Inside of it, the space around them was something out of a sci-fi film, the area a strange purple and pink, and the debris that it sucked in floating everywhere. The Guardians and the cats looked around trying to see any sight of the wand.
"Come on, where's the stick?!" Sailor Mercury berated.
"If we don't find it quick, we'll be thrown into another dimension!" Luna cried. "Hurry!"
Sailor Mars soon caught sight of the wand and pointed at it getting everyone's attention. "Over there! I see it!"
"Everyone! Grab each others hands!" ordered Artemis. "Focus all of your powers on that stick and power up!"
The Guardians all did so, holding hands in a circle, and beginning to glow in colorful light, focusing all of their power and strength.
"MOON CRYSTAL POWER!"
"MARS STAR POWER!"
"MERCURY STAR POWER!"
"JUPITER STAR POWER!"
"VENUS STAR POWER!"
"SOLAR PRISM POWER!"
"SAILOR PLANET POWER!" everyone yelled.
The glow surrounding their bodies glowed even brighter, and in the middle of them, a powerful pillar of light erupted shooting straight towards the wand which hovered from above. The light hit its mark, the wand cracking and crumbling before its might, exploding with a thunderous and blinding boom.
When the Guardians could see again, they found themselves back on the bridge the rift now no longer there.
"Did... did it work?" asked Sailor Moon.
"Yes! It did!" Artemis cheered. "The rift between dimensions is gone!"
"Alright!" Solaris cheered. "We did it!"
Sailor Moon then looked to the sky and saw that Tuxedo Mask was no longer there. "Thank you, Tuxedo Mask," she whispered. "Your idea saved us."
Then Koan and Berthier rushed over to Sailor Moon along with Calaveras. They all were worried.
"Sailor Moon, have you seen, Petz?!" asked Koan. "We can't find her anywhere!"
Sailor Moon and the Guardians all looked around trying to find Petz, but she was nowhere to be seen.
"I don't know," said Sailor Moon. "We haven't seen her either."
Berthier then gasped. "You don't think that she was sucked inside of that black hole, do you?!"
"I don't believe so," said Sailor Mercury. "If she did, we would have been able to see in when we were inside the rift."
"And even if she was, she would have been expelled out along with the rest of us," added Solaris, looking towards Juuban. "Which means that Petz must be somewhere out there."
"Oh, sister," Calaveras spoke biting her lip. "Why did you leave? Where are you?"
Koan and Berthier then hugged their sister reassuring and comforting her as she returned the hug in earnest.
"Don't worry, I'm sure that we'll find your sister eventually," Koan spoke kindly. "In the meantime, why don't you join us, Calaveras."
"We're more than happy to take you in," said Berthier. "Come live your life as a human, and live your life the way you want to."
Calaveras' eyes welled up with tears as she nodded in agreement. Seeing this as her cue, Sailor Moon took out her brooch revealing the Silver Crystal, and waved her hand over it.
"MOON CRYSTAL POWER!"
The crystal chimed three times glowing in bright pink light which shined all over Calaveras. Then, the second eldest sister reemerged, now a normal human being wearing normal clothing. As everyone felt happy that Calaveras had now joined their circle of friendship and was purified, Chibiusa peeked her head out from behind the crate just a few feet away from where Sailor Moon and the others were. She had seen everything and was still stupified, not believing what she had seen.
"Usagi has the Silver Crystal and is Sailor Moon?" Chibiusa whispered.
At the same time, Petz was watching from above now realizing that she was all alone when it came to being a Spectre Sister. She felt alone and somewhat betrayed, feeling that she had nothing else now, and not wanting to stay a moment longer as well as feeling guilty, she disappeared into the night.
