It was a beautiful and sunny day in Juuban, Tokyo. Usagi, Chibiusa, Harusuke, and Luna had just left the Tsukino household to go out into town, all of which were in high spirits.
"I'm glad to see that you're looking better, Chibiusa," said Luna.
"Thank you, Luna," Chibiusa smiled. "I feel better."
"And to celebrate, how would you feel if I took everyone out?" offered Usagi. "My treat and anything you want."
"Really?! You mean it?!" Chibiusa cried as she happily leaped into Usagi's arms. "I'm so happy!"
Harusuke and Luna were surprised by Usagi's offer until the ordango blonde embarrassingly cringed.
"Well, that's what I'd like to say," Usagi spoke flatly. "But unfortunately, I've spent all of my allowances. Do you want to go play in the park instead?"
Chibiusa was now pouting. "No fair! You said that you'd treat me!"
"I should have expected as much," Harusuke sighed. "However, you do owe Chibiusa, Usagi. Remember, you promised her that you would treat her after we've beaten Rubeus, and you can't go back on your word."
"I know, I know," Usagi sighed as she set Chibiusa down. "I'll figure something out."
Then as Usagi took a couple of steps forward, someone came rushing down the other direction and bumped into her. That person turned out to be Mamoru. The two, still estranged, looked at each other surprised to see one another, then Chibiusa rushed on over, feeling happy to see Mamoru.
"Mamo!" Chibiusa cried as she tackled him in a hug. "I missed you so much!"
"Hey there, Chibiusa," Mamoru greeted as she picked her up. "You're looking better today."
"You mean it? Thank you, Mamo," Chibiusa said. Then, an idea came into her mind. "Say, why don't we go somewhere together, Mamo. I want a new notebook, a pencil case, an eraser, and some donuts!"
"Whoa, hold on there, kiddo," Mamoru chuckled. "I want to celebrate your recovery, but I have to check my wallet."
As the two talked to one another, Usagi was seething with jealousy, glaring at the two, making Luna and Harusuke worry.
"Oh, boy. Here it comes," Harusuke said, rolling his eyes.
"Usagi's green-eyed monster is about to rear its head," warned Luna.
But as Mamoru glanced over at Usagi, she immediately stopped scowling and started laughing while grinning.
"Yeah! That sounds like a fantastic idea," Usagi said. "Why don't you spend the whole day with Mamo? I mean, me and Harusuke have got a ton of other things we need to do."
"We do?" puzzled Harusuke. "I thought that you wanted to- yeow!"
Usagi immediately silenced Harusuke by elbowing him hard in the ribs.
"As I said, Harusuke and I have a lot of stuff we need to do!" insisted Usagi as she pushed Harusuke along. "So we'll be seeing the two of you later! Bye now!"
And before Mamoru or Chibiusa could say anything more, Usagi and Harusuke were gone, with Luna following close behind.
Chibiusa was baffled as well as confused. "What was up with her? I thought that she was going to come with us, Mamo."
Mamoru couldn't help but agree.
Usagi didn't stop pushing Harusuke until they were out of sight from Mamoru and Chibiusa. Harusuke was a bit cross.
"Usagi! What's the big idea?!" complained Harusuke. "You didn't need to elbow me in the ribs, you know! And why did you let Mamoru go with Chibiusa, anyway? I would have thought her being alone with Mamoru was the last thing you wanted."
Usagi furrowed her brows and frustrations as she chewed her lip in jealousy while her eyes teared up. "It's just for today," she spoke while wailing. "Chibiusa can't go home to her mother, so I'll let Mamo cheer her up on a date! It's for the best! It's for the best!"
"Then why don't you just go with them?" suggested Luna. "And while you're out together, you can take this opportunity to make up with Mamoru."
"Because it kills me to see him spoil her and carry her around!" Usagi comically sobbed. "They're so cute; I hate it! It's so frustrating! ! !"
Then, because of her feeling so cross and frustrated, Usagi socked the lampost, only to have her shriek in agony as she held her fist, now red and swollen. Luna and Harusuke could only shrug as the two sighed with exasperation.
Prince Demande sat on his throne in the Black Moon Clan's headquarters in the thirtieth century, waiting for Esmeraude to report back to him. Soon enough, she appeared kneeling graciously before him.
"Prince Demande, preparations have been made," Esmeraude told her prince. "I shall be departing for the twentieth century shortly."
"Very good, Esmeraude," Prince Demande said. "But let me make one thing clear about something before you go. I suggest you not forget how your predecessor Rubeus died. So you must exercise caution."
Esmeraude laughed haughtily. "Please. I would never humiliate myself like that."
Saphir then appeared. "Don't underestimate the twentieth-century guardians. In fact, why don't you take a look at this one last time?"
Saphir directed his attention to the crystal projector-like cylinder with a wave of his hand, and a beam of light shot out, revealing a picture. It showed the numerous ships belonging to the Black Moon Clan surrounding Crystal Tokyo. As they flew towards it, four beams of light erupted from the crystal city, all colored red, blue, green, and yellow, and erected a barrier that shielded the city from the incoming army.
Simultaneously, a golden comet-like ball of light shot forth from the city and attacked numerous ships, destroying them left and right like it was something alive. The projection then showed inside the crystal palace, revealing four particular guardians standing around a glowing crystal, holding hands as they bathed in its glow.
"As you can see, even my brother is struggling to deal with these thirtieth-century Guardians, including the Golden One who keeps holding back our troops and wiping them out," said Saphir. "If Rubeus had completed our mission and filled the twentieth-century crystal points with Dark Power, they never would have been able to display this much power against us."
Then, Prince Demande made it disappear with a bright glare of his eyes, startling Saphir.
"Thank you for the unpleasant reminder, Saphir," the evil prince said. "But, I find it rather unsightly."
"And that display of yours is proof of Rubeus and the Spectre Sisters incompetence unlike what I have planned," Esmeraude spoke snootily. " Since I'm going to be working in the twentieth-century, I propose that we send all the Dark Power of the Malefic Black Crystal there, therefore infusing the twentieth-century with Dark Power. I think that will be much easier, don't you think, Prince Demande?"
"It does sound promising," hummed Prince Demande. "But with our current transfer methods, we cannot transmit that much Dark Power to the twentieth-century Earth. To do so would require a huge dark gate."
"Fear not, my prince. I haven't overlooked that," Esmeraude spoke while fluttering her fan. "Observe."
She directed her attention towards the projector and then pointed her fan, showing another picture. This time, it was of the twentieth-century of Tokyo, inside of a dank, dark alley. In that alleyway was a strange crystal statue made in Esmeraude's likeness. The figure began to glow with a dark black color as it slowly grew bigger until it towered over the buildings along with four others that were similar, as they all of them encircled Juuban as a ring connected them all. At that moment, a powerful explosion erupted in the middle of the statues blinding the screen for a brief moment before dying down. When the light dimmed, the entire town of Juuban was nothing more but an immense and smoking crater with only the statues left standing.
"As you can see, in this primitive twentieth-century world, there are sites known as Negative Points that are teeming Negative Energy," Esmeraude explained. "Which is a bit similar to the Crystal Points, but are different. If we can drive the Malefic Black Crystal's power wedges into these points, we can send Dark Power from the future and into the past. And once those wedges have absorbed enough Dark Power and fully matured, the Dark Gate will open. We'll send all the Dark Power from the Malefic Black Crystal to destroy the twentieth-century Tokyo before it becomes Crystal Tokyo and transform the world into a beautiful ebony planet!"
The projection then showed them the Earth slowly turning black due to the Malefic Black Crystal's power until the entire planet was dyed black.
Prince Demande was intrigued, but he was still skeptical. "It is an interesting plan. But, how soon can you put it into action?"
Saphir then held up his hand, and something shot down from above and into Esmeraude's hand. It was a small green statue of Esmeraude, just like the ones in the projector.
"I've already asked Saphir to create the Dark Wedges," Esmeraude said. "Those wedges are infused with the power of the Malefic Black Crystal."
"I think that these are in poor taste," Saphir scowled. "But I've shaped them in your specifications. I can make as many as we need, but try not to make me do unnecessary work as Rubeus did with his string of failures."
"Of course, Saphir," Esmeraude spoke sweetly. "I intend to keep this simple, as I don't want to be apart from my beloved for long."
"Very well, Esmeraude. I, hereby, grant you permission to carry out your plan," Prince Demande acknowledged. "Do not fail me. Is that understood?"
"Yes, my lord," Esmeraude replied, bowing. "I promise I will do my best to please you by making sure this plan is a success."
Esmeraude then let out her signature noblewoman's laugh making it echo throughout the throne room.
Back in the present, a big event was taking place at a cake shop downtown known as Maxi-5. A large crowd of women swarmed around it, admiring the cakes on display. Their excitement was because of a large sign above the Maxi-5 sign that read: GRAND OPENING SPECIAL: ALL YOU CAN EAT CAKES! Ami, Rei, Makoto, and Minako saw this among the girls in the crowd.
"That's awesome! An all-you-can-eat, grand opening sale!" Rei exclaimed.
"Sounds too good to be true to me," Makoto spoke skeptically.
"But it is!" Minako gushed excitedly. "My heart's racing so much, I can't stand it! It's so tempting that it's a crime!"
"Did you know that cakes are remarkably high in calories?" asked Ami. "Not only that, but they exceed the daily recommended intake, but they also lack nutrients or vitamins-"
"Yes, okay. We got it," interrupted Makoto.
"Come on, Ami. Cakes do have nourishment. Nourishment for the soul," Minako said. "I mean, we've been working hard saving the world. So I think that we deserve a treat like this to recharge our batteries."
"Getting fat is more like it," Artemis pointed out via a basket. "No matter how much you splice it, cakes are fatting and will do you a lot more harm than good. Furthermore-"
Minako quickly interrupted Artemis by stuffing the white cat into her basket and closing the lid. "Shush you!"
"Fine! But don't blame me when you get on the scale tonight!" Artemis spoke from inside the basket. "Then, you're going to end up making a big fuss!"
Ami then suddenly remembered. "You know, why don't we call Usagi, Harusuke, and Chibiusa?" she suggested. "Usagi and Chibiusa would love this, though I'm not sure about Harusuke."
"Well, I already tried calling them, but they didn't answer," said Rei.
"Then why don't we go on ahead?" Makoto asked. "Knowing those two, they'll probably catch a whiff of the smell of cake and come running straight here anyway."
"I agree!" Minako grinned enthusiastically. "So who's ready for cake?!"
"Me!" Rei, Makoto, and Ami said eagerly.
The four then went inside the cake shop. Not long after they went in, Esmeraude arrived, now wearing a black one-piece mini-skirt dress, a red jacket on top of it, and black sunglasses, under Human Disguise. As she walked on, many people couldn't help but stare at her, feeling charmed by her beauty, men and women alike.
"So this is a city in the twentieth century," admired Esmeraude to herself. "Primitive, but I find their savage energy a bit charming."
Esmeraude then unfastened one of her earrings off her ear and held it out. The prism at the end slowly began to drop, connected by a string. It started to glow as it circled a few times, as Esmeraude took notice of the cake shop, smirking with glee.
"Looks like I found the first Negative Point," Esmeraude cackled victoriously.
As more people came to the shop, a certain ordango blonde and her brother happened to take notice of this too. So naturally, upon seeing the cakes, Usagi began to drool as she squealed with delight.
"Oh, wow! Look at all of those cakes, Bro!" Usagi gushed. "I'm going to stuff my face and eat so much; this place won't have any left!"
Before Harusuke could even try to stop his sister, Usagi immediately rushed inside with Luna in tow. Having no other options but to follow, Harusuke went inside too. Indoors, all of the patrons, which of course, were female, all were enjoying themselves by eating as much cake as they could. Rei, Ami, Makoto, and Minako enjoyed themselves at their table, eating cake after cake while Artemis stayed inside the basket, much to his disdain.
"Ah! This is Bliss!" moaned Makoto happily.
"When I think about all the battles we fought, it was worth it just to get to this day!" squealed Minako. "I'm in heaven!"
"No kidding!" Rei agreed between bites. "I'm on my sixth one!"
"And I'm on my fifth," Ami said.
Makoto soon finished off her cake and stood up from her chair, about to go back for more cake at the serving table, when she heard a familiar voice.
"This is so tasty! I can't get enough of these cakes!"
Makoto and the others then looked up and saw a sight that nearly made their faces pale with embarrassment. Over at the serving table, they saw Usagi, Harusuke, and, unbeknownst to them, Esmeraude. Usagi and Esmeraude were stuffing their faces with cake, while Harusuke had his hand over his face, his face red with embarrassment, and the other patrons staring at them with shock and disdain.
"Usagi! Ease up on the cakes, would you?!" Harusuke cried, scolding. "You're making everyone stare at us!"
But Usagi didn't listen as she and Esmeraude continued binging on the cakes without a care in the world. Then, seeing that Harusuke needed help reigning Usagi back, Makoto and Rei quickly rushed over, each grabbing hold of one of Usagi's arms.
"Usagi, knock it off!" scolded Rei. "For crying out loud, have some self-control!"
"No way! Cake fills the void in my heart!" Usagi wailed as she tried to break free. "Now, let me go! Can't you see I'm depressed?!"
"You need to calm down!" Makoto said. "Cut it out!"
"Usagi, I get that you're depressed, but can you stop acting like a savage for just a second and remember your manners?!" Harusuke gasped as he tried to pull her back. "You're making a scene!"
"Shut up!" Usagi yelled as she managed to pry free from the three, pouncing on the cake once more. "It's none of your business! Must! Eat! Cake!"
Not expecting Usagi to have enough strength to push him back along with Makoto and Rei, Harusuke staggered back until he accidentally bumped into Esmeraude.
"Oops! Sorry about that," apologized Harusuke. Then he took notice that Esmeraude's cheeks had cake all over them. He looked on the serving platter, saw some napkins, and then handed one to Esmeraude. "Here. You got some cake on your cheek."
Harusuke then left, going back to the others to help calm Usagi down. Esmeraude was a bit surprised, not expecting Harusuke's act of kindness, and wiped her cheeks with the napkin gratefully. She was just about to reach out and grab some more cake when she caught sight of the other patrons. They were all staring at her while murmuring to each other, no doubt being judgemental about how she was acting. Esmeraude quickly retracted her hand and opened her fan, laughing as she slinked away down the hall, feeling most embarrassed. When she was sure that she was out of sight, Esmeraude growled in frustration, feeling angry.
"How could I lose my cool and get so carried away like that?!" Esmeraude scolded herself. "But those cake things were so cute! I couldn't help myself! Not to mention those twentieth-century humans were staring at me like I was some pig! Although, that one boy was very kind when he gave me those napkins. So very unlike those other girls!"
Esmeraude then decided as she changed back into her standard Dark Kingdom attire. "Fine! Those girls will pay the price for judging me! I'll make all of them the first sacrifices to the Dark Henge! OHHH HOHOHOHOHO!"
She then went to the back room at the end of the hallway, where all the staff members were busily at work. In no time, and with the help of her earrings, Esmeraude quickly knocked out all of the staff members before they all had a chance to react. When she was sure, they were out, pointed her fan, summoned forth her little statue of herself with a wave of her hand fan. Then while closing it, Esmeraude directed it toward the floor, making it hit it while piercing it. When it did, it began to glow in black crackles of light as it started its function, receiving the Dark Power via the future, causing it to grow bigger and taller.
"Yes, yes. It's working as I expected," Esmeraude smirked. "Dark Power is coming from the future. And to make sure it stays that way, come forth, Droid Marzipan!"
At Esmeraude's command, a Droid appeared via the Dark Power emanating from the statue. It was feminine, had brown chocolate-colored skin, bright green and yellow stockings with pink roses, a bikini top with swirls of frosting for the cups, and a veil of roses made of the same material. She also had spiky purple hair that jutted from all sides and had a green gem with the Black Moon Clan's emblem on top of it.
"It will take a while for the Dark Hedge to place a barrier on this place, but in the meantime, I want you to dispose of the girls outside, Marzipan, while I take care of a job," Esmeraude ordered. "But make sure that you're discreet about it. Understand?"
"Marzipan!" roared the Droid as it transformed into one of the female staff members disappearing.
Esmeraude then looked over to the cakes the staff members planned on serving and, using her fan, started fanning them as it released strange sparkles bespelling them.
Back at the tables, Usagi and Harusuke had joined the rest of the girls in eating the cakes, Usagi eating the most out of all the others as she tearfully told the girls why she was feeling so depressed while they ate.
"...and then Mamo picked up Chibiusa and got all cuddly!" Usagi complained, stuffing a cake into her mouth. "That little girl is using her tiny and adorable body as an excuse to snuggle up to my Mamo! It makes me so mad!"
"Well, you were the one who was so insistent on leaving those two alone for Chibiusa's sake," Harusuke sighed. "Luna tried to tell you to go with them, but no, who listens to Harusuke?"
Usagi then started tugging on Harusuke's cheeks as she wailed in frustration and jealousy. "Harusuke! Make it better! You're supposed to be the supporting big brother for these things!"
"Um, there, there, Usagi," Minako said, trying to be soothing. "It's going to be okay."
"Good grief. I've lost my appetite now," Rei sighed. "Too many tears and snot around here."
Harusuke, who had managed to pry his sobbing sister's fingers away from him, tried to calm her down too. "Usagi, come on. Don't cry anymore. Why don't you get some more cake? Since we're here, you might as well eat as much as you want to."
Usagi nodded, wiping her eyes as she got up. "Thanks, Bro."
As Usagi walked off, Harusuke let out a sigh in exasperation. "Man. Being a big brother, as well as a supporter, is hard work. Especially since I have a sister like Usagi."
"No kidding," agreed Ami, who had just come back along with Makoto with some more cake. "But regarding this, as Minako said, Cake is nourishment for the soul."
"Especially for Usagi's case," laughed Makoto. "Her soul really must be famished because she's eating everything in sight."
"You two are eating more cake?" Harusuke asked incredulously. "How many did you guys eat so far? Or rather, how can you all eat so many cakes?"
"Don't you know, Harusuke? When it comes to us girls, we have two stomachs," said Minako importantly. "One for normal food, and the other for desserts, and our dessert tummies are still feeling empty."
"Speaking of which, I'm surprised that you haven't gotten any cake yet, Harusuke," said Ami. "Don't you want any?"
"Well, yes and no. I'm not as much as a junk food binger like Usagi, so I'm trying to watch my weight," said Harusuke. "And there isn't any specific cake I like other than the cake mom makes for us, so..."
"Aww, come on, Harusuke. I'm sure you can cheat on whatever thing you got going on for one day!" Minako said. "Live a little! Have some cake! There are lots of different flavors for you to try!"
"Yeah! In fact, how about I show you some recommendations!" Rei said, eagerly taking Harusuke's hand. "Come on. I'll show you!"
"And I'll show you too," said Makoto as she took his other hand. "I've got a lot of cakes that I can cook if you like any specific ones!"
Harusuke felt awkward as he got dragged towards the serving table, but he kept it to himself. The teens and the cats then enjoyed some more cake, enjoying the many different flavors and exotic tastes. Just then, they heard a familiar little voice.
"Wow! Look at all the cakes, Mamo! I've never seen so many!"
Usagi and her group looked up only to see Mamoru and Chibiusa enter, and when they saw Usagi and the others, they came over to their table.
"Looks like the gang's all here," Mamoru said.
Chibiusa then saw the stacks of plates on their table, her eyes going wide with surprise. "Wow! You all ate this much?! That's amazing!"
"And why should it matter to you?!" Usagi barked, her jealousy reappearing in her demeanor. "Whose fault do you think it is that I'm stuffing my face, anyway?!"
"What do you mean by that?!" Chibiusa shot back crossly. "You were the one who just left without saying anything!"
"Don't act like you don't know!" Usagi snapped.
The two then stuck out their tongues while everyone else covered their ears, not wanting to hear the two argue.
Mamoru sighed, pinching his nose. "This was a mistake," he thought. "I never would have brought Chibiusa here if Usako was going to be here."
Then as Mamoru turned to leave, something quite startling caught his eye. Not too far away, two girls were munching on some cake when suddenly, the two girls were encased in white frosting, frozen in place like statues.
"Everyone! Look!" cried Mamoru. "Something's wrong!"
Usagi's group, along with Chibiusa, all looked up, and they saw the other girls in the restaurant suddenly freeze up with icing too. Soon enough, all of the girls were frozen encased with thick icing, leaving Usagi and the gang the only remaining group. Mamoru then saw a female staff member walk by, wheeling out a cart full of cake glancing at him. Immediately, as well as feeling suspicious, Mamoru grabbed a platter and threw it at the woman, only to have her duck dodging it and transform, revealing herself to be Marzipan.
"It's a droid!" Harusuke cried.
"That must be what caused the girls to end up this way!" Mamoru cried. "Everyone! Make sure you don't eat the cake! Especially you, Usako!"
Usagi's eyes practically turned into hearts as she squealed joyfully. "Did you hear that?! Mamo called me Usako! So that must mean he still cares about me!"
"That's not important right now, you idiot!" Rei snapped.
"Can't you see this is a serious situation right now, Usagi?!" Ami scolded, who was just as annoyed.
While transforming her hands into a pair of pastry bags, Marzipan went on the attack, unleashing a stream of icing from each one right at the teens. One stream shot towards Mamoru, Makoto, and Minako, forcing the three to jump out of the way to dodge, and the other shot towards Harusuke and Usagi, the two managing to move, making it hit one of the potted trees. When it did, the tree immediately transformed into a giant ice cream cone, much to the Tsukino sibling's shock.
"I know that it's okay to eat sweets, but I don't want to turn into one!" Harusuke cried.
"You guys get out of here with Chibiusa while you still can!" Mamoru urgently spoke. "I'll keep this thing busy!"
"You got it!" Minako said. "Come on, you guys!"
Usagi and the other girls quickly rushed out of the room to escape as Mamoru bravely stood his ground against Marzipan. Then, when they were sure they were out of sight, Usagi and the girls prepared for a fight.
"Looks like it's time to get some exercise to work off those cakes!" Rei grinned.
"Artemis. Luna. You two make sure Chibiusa's safe," said Harusuke.
"Good luck, everyone!" Chibiusa said.
The pink ordango girl and the cats took off, making their escape, as the teens transformed.
"MOON CRYSTAL POWER MAKE UP!"
"SOLAR PRISM POWER BLAZE FORTH!"
"MERCURY STAR POWER MAKE UP!
"MARS STAR POWER MAKE UP!"
"JUPITER STAR POWER MAKE UP!"
"VENUS STAR POWER MAKER UP!"
Transformation Sequence: Usagi
Usagi holds up the Crystal Star brooch as it opens, revealing the Silver Crystal inside. Usagi waved her hand on the Silver Crystal, and it flashed it a bright short burst of pink light emitting a chime. It does it a second time, and on the third, it shines brightly, enveloping Usagi in its glow. Usagi then holds the brooch above her head, suspending it in between her hands, drawing it to the center of her torso, flipping it once before placing it in the center of her chest. She then spins around a few times as the crystal begins to glow even brighter than before in pink light. She holds her hands up as a pair of wings spring forth from her back while pink ribbons come out from the crystal wrapping around Usagi's body, forming her leotard. The wings on her back disappeared as more pink ribbons wrapped around her arms and hands, creating white gloves and red boots around her calves and feet. As the blue skirt appears around her waist, one more pink ribbon ties at her back as she does a kind of spread-eagle motion with one leg up, a glowing moon symbol appearing on her forehead. Her tiara, earrings, choker, and ordango covers appear, and Usagi, now Sailor Moon, finishes with her signature pose.
Transformation Sequence: Harusuke.
Harusuke holds up his hand as the stone on his bracelet shines bright in golden light. The stone lets out three pulses, the symbol of the Sun glowing inside of it on the third pulse. Harusuke is enveloped in silver and gold light as he jumps into the air, his clothes disappearing. The symbol of the sun appears just above him and goes down, phasing through his body, making his silver jumpsuit with gold lines on the sides materialize. Two smaller sun symbols go over his feet to his kneecaps, and his gold and metal boots and silver kneecaps appear. Around his waist, a ring of light wraps around it, forming a belt with a gold belt buckle in the shape of an oval. Harusuke then spreads his arms wide as two more light rings envelop his arms and hands, making gold gloves appear. The symbol of the sun appears in front of him now, and crashes into his chest, making his chest piece like before, now thicker and having shoulder guards. Finally, a helmet materializes above Harusuke's head, the design slightly different as he reaches and grabs hit, putting it on his head, not having a mouth protector. Harusuke opens his eyes, punches his hands together, and strikes his signature pose, the symbol of the sun appearing behind him with a star-filled background.
Transformation Sequence: Ami
Ami holds up her hand as blue sparkles swirled around it, alighting her fingernails turning them into a shade of bright blue. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end and the symbol glowing. It begins to turn as Ami is enveloped in blue light. Then she sweeps the pen over her head as a stream of sparkling blue water begins to emit from it, forming her leotard, boots, and gloves. A sparkling ripple and a flurry of bubbles expand over her body, creating a tiny mist of water that forms the rest of her uniform, the same as Sailor Moon's, but the center bow, boots, and rims on the gloves were blue and bright blue. Finally, she turns around and then strikes her signature pose.
Transformation Sequence: Rei
Rei's hand is held up as red sparkles swirl around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright red. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. It begins to turn as Rei is enveloped in red light. As she held up her pen while spinning around, long bright tongues of flame erupted from it, forming several rings around her body. They tighten around her body, and in a brilliant flash of light, her outfit forms having to look just like Sailor Moon's, but she is wearing red pumps along with a pair of red star-shaped earrings, the center bow is purple, and the rims of her gloves, her skirt, her choker, and collar are red. After that, Mars finishes with her signature pose.
Transformation Sequence: Makoto
Makoto's hand is held up as green sparkles swirl around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright green. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. It starts to turn around rapidly as green light envelops Makoto. As she holds up her pen while spinning around, long streams of lightning erupt from it, encircling her body, forming an atom of sorts before exploding in a brilliant flash of light. Her outfit forms, having to look just like Sailor Moon's, wearing green boots along with her pair of roses earrings, the bow is pink, and the rims of her gloves green, as is her skirt, her choker, and collar. After that, Jupiter finishes with her signature pose.
Transformation sequence: Minako.
Minako's hand is held up as golden stars swirl around it, alighting her fingernails, turning them into a shade of bright orange. Her transformation stick appears spinning, and she takes hold of it, the star on end as well as the symbol glowing. It begins to turn as Minako is enveloped in yellow light. Then she sweeps the pen over her head as banners of golden stars emit from it. Minako then holds up the pen above her head as the banners of stars form a spiral around her body. They disappear into the ground, forming a circle of stars and burst into more stars going upwards, enveloping Minako's body. Then Minako emerges wearing the same outfit as Sailor Moon's, the center bow, boots, and rims on the gloves colored orange, her back bow, yellow, and her center bow, blue. She then opens her eyes as she assumes her signature pose.
Mamoru was trying his best to fend off Marzipan to buy time, but the Droid was getting close to overwhelming him as it tried to use its icing spray attack. But then, the Guardians rushed in, coming to his rescue.
"We're the Guardians of Justice!" said Sailor Mars.
"And our job is to bring down evil!" said Sailor Mercury. "
"You've ruined the dreams of innocent girls...!" Sailor Venus spoke crossly.
"...and trampled on their simple pleasures!" added Sailor Jupiter.
"For that, you will get punished for your wicked ways...!" Solaris proclaimed.
"And now, in the name of the Moon, I'll punish you!" Sailor Moon finished.
Marzipan responded by firing from her pastry bag arms at the Guardians. Everyone scattered to dodge, and Sailor Mars used her signature attack.
"MARS BURNING MANDALA!"
But as she fired her rings of flame, Marzipan jumped out of the way and fired a blast of icing from her nozzles, coating half of Sailor Mars' body with icing immobilizing her. Sailor Moon tried to rush in and help, but Marzipan fired her glaze again, coating her with it too.
"Sailor Moon! Sailor Mars!" cried Sailor Jupiter.
"It's... no use! I can't move!" Sailor Moon cried as she struggled. "I'm stuck!"
"We've been frosted like cakes!" Sailor Mars complained. "I think I'm starting to have second thoughts about sweets now!"
Feeling angry, Sailor Jupiter unleashed a Sparkling Wide Pressure at Marzipan, but the Droid countered by firing an array of cakes canceling out the attack altogether. Then before Sailor Jupiter had a chance to react, Marzipan fired donuts at the guardian of thunder, striking her and encasing her with donuts around her legs, arm, and waist. Solaris, Sailor Venus, and Sailor Mercury rushed over to their friend, horrified.
"Sailor Jupiter, are you alright?!" Sailor Venus asked.
"She's way too fast!" Sailor Jupiter spoke. "Not to mention that freaky sugar blast of hers, too!"
"Don't worry! We'll try and get you loose!" Solaris said. "Just hang in there!"
Solaris was just about to do so when Sailor Mercury suddenly yelled out.
"Solaris! Sailor Venus! Don't! Sailor Jupiter's body has transformed into the likeness of a pastry!" the guardian of water spoke urgently, revealing to have her visor activated. "If you bump into her with any amount of force will cause her to fall apart and crumble! The same thing goes for the other girls!"
"You can't be serious!" Solaris gasped. "Then how are we supposed to beat this thing?!"
Marzipan let out a roar as she unleashed an array of sponge cakes this time, only for Sailor Venus immediately counter.
"VENUS LOVE-ME CHAIN!"
The Guardian of Beauty fired her chain of light, canceling out the cakes, but Marzipan using her superior speed, jumped up, dodging the attack, and fired at Sailor Venus, striking her and encasing her in a large pastry, putting her out of the fight. Now Sailor Mercury and Solaris remained. Marzipan turned back towards Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars and released another blast of icing at the two, coating them in glaze even more. Seeing this, Solaris rushed forward in anger.
"Leave them alone, you overgrown cavity!" Solaris yelled as he began charging power into his fist, preparing to unleash his Nova Flare.
Marzipan then jumped up, going over Solaris' head, and landed on a table, unleashing another blast of icing. Solaris ducked out of the way just in time, only for the explosion to hit Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars once again.
"Hey! Enough already!" complained Sailor Mars.
"Yeah! Cut it out!" Sailor Moon spoke crossly.
Marzipan only laughed as she threw a pink flower made of icing at the two, hoping to finish them off, but then, a red rose shot down from above, piercing the flower and shattering it into pieces. Marzipan looked up to see that standing on top of the upper level was none other than Tuxedo Mask.
"Sugary delicacies are an art that nourishes a girl's dreams," said Tuxedo Mask. "These young girls admire their beauty and sometimes their passion which can melt their delicate hearts. While it's true that sweet treats can melt away one's worries, there are other times where the sugar melts instead."
Sailor Moon and the others were puzzled, but Sailor Mercury, on the other hand, understood and had an idea.
"I got it! He means the composition of their bodies, and it applies to the Droid too!" cried Sailor Mercury. "Solaris, back me up!"
"You got it, Mercury!" Solaris nodded as he bravely faced the Droid along with Sailor Mercury.
Marzipan, not wanting to give them a chance, fired a blast of icing at the two, but Solaris barred her way by turning around and shielding Sailor Mercury as the icing encased him with a thick coat.
"Solaris, no!" Sailor Mercury cried.
"Don't worry about me!" Solaris spoke, wincing. "Take out the Droid, now! Before everyone else ends up as a dessert!"
Sailor Mercury then seized her chance and aimed the Droid. "MERCURY SHINE AQUA ILLUSION!"
The Sailor Guardian of Water then unleashed a mighty torrent of water, clashing with the Droid's streams of icing. Marzipan struggled as she desperately tried to push it back, but as she did, the water from Sailor Mercury's Shine Aqua Illusion sprayed all over her drenching her all over her. Her body had now begun to melt as she grew severely weak, causing the sugary binds that held the other Guardians began to melt too until they were finally free.
"Sailor Moon! Now's your chance!" Tuxedo Mask said. "Take out that droid!"
Sailor Moon nodded as she took out her Cutie Moon Rod, taking aim and firing a blast of sparkles and light. "MOON PRINCESS HALATION!"
The blast struck the weakened Droid, causing her to shriek and scream as she was obliterated by the explosion, reducing her to a pile of ash and her crystal, which turned black.
Back with Esmeraude, her Dark Wedge, which had grown to a large size, began to shrink, growing smaller until it fell over, shattering into a million pieces. Not only that, but the workers that she knocked out prior had all begun to wake up, much to her shock and displeasure. Esmeraude quickly teleported out of the room, appeared behind the patrons' doors, and peeked out through them. To make her even more surprised, all of the patrons were eating cake as happy as they were before.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Esmeraude gasped crossly. "How was Marzipan defeated?!"
"You know, it's unladylike to spy on others," said a voice.
"Yeah. Especially, considering how suspicious you're looking right now," said another.
Esmeraude jumped and turned around, finding herself staring at the Guardians. However, upon seeing Solaris and Tuxedo Mask, she couldn't help but give the two a flirtatious wink.
"Well, aren't you two a couple of hotties," Esmeraude cooed.
Tuxedo Mask and Solaris cringed both of them, taking a step back, a bit repulsed.
"Hey! Knock it off!" Sailor Moon spoke crossly. "Don't you dare look at them like that!"
"You must be the one who was controlling that dessert droid, weren't you?" accused Sailor Mars.
"And you lot must be the Guardians I've heard so much about from Rubeus," Esmeraude countered. "You're all just skinny, pimply, schoolgirls, with flat-chests and flat-butts little girls."
"Who are you calling flat?!" Sailor Moon said indignantly.
"We prefer to think of ourselves as small but well-toned, old lady," Sailor Jupiter huffed.
Esmeraude scowled in anger. "Old lady?! You dare call me an old lady, you brat?!"
The Guardians each took a stance readying themselves to fight Esmeraude, but Esmeraude stopped herself, regaining her composure.
"Now, listen up, you pipsqueaks!" Esmeraude proclaimed loudly. "You're looking at a proud member of the Black Moon Clan, a formidable leader willing to do whatever it takes to conquer the twentieth century! Every man in this world will kneel before me and tremble before my great beauty!"
As Esmeraude continued with her monologue, the Guardians couldn't help but feel even more annoyed with this woman as she cockily fanned herself.
"I will also be the one to defeat every last one of you!" Esmeraude finished. "Your doom awaits at the hands of Esmeraude! Remember that name!"
The woman then let out her signature noblewoman's laugh loudly, causing everyone to cover their ears.
"Oh, man! Her awful laugh is as bad as her attitude!" Sailor Venus winced.
"I could care less who you are, Lady," Solaris sneered. "If you want to bring us down, then go ahead and try! We will stop you! No matter what you try to pull!"
Esmeraude stopped laughing and looked at Solaris, who scowled in determination, which made her smile evilly from behind her fan.
"How interesting," Esmeraude smirked. "I love a man who loves to think he's in control."
And with a leap into the air, Esmeraude disappeared.
"Esmeraude, huh?" Sailor Moon murmured.
"Well then, team, it looks like we've just met our new enemy," Sailor Jupiter spoke grimly.
"Yeah, unfortunately, we haven't heard the last of her," Solaris said. "So we'd better be ready for anything. No matter what she's has planned."
