On the weekend Kurt had some time to practice his song and he noticed something. Awesome song. Awesome artist. But he's struggling with some of the higher notes. He can practice that. His main problem is his struggle with his breathing technique. For that he needs advice. Rachel and Santana are out of question. They need to focus on their own songs. The internet didn't help much too. There are too many versions and he doesn't know which one is the best for him.
So it happens that on Monday after class he stays behind and tells his friends to go home already. Once the classroom is pretty much empty Kurt goes to the front where the teacher packs his own stuff in his bag and cleans the whiteboard. "Excuse me Mr. Anderson?" Kurt asks and the teacher turns to him "Could you maybe give me an advice on my final song?". Mr. Anderson nods and smiles "How can I help you Mr. Hummel?". "I was practicing my song on the weekend. It's I have nothing by Whitney Houstan and I noticed that I don't have as much control over my breathing as I would like to. Maybe you could help me out with some advice?" the student tells and to his luchk the other man answers "Of course".
For the next 20 minutes Blaine explains Kurt a simple way to practice. He doesn't really know how he does it. He's kinda distracted by the young man in front of him. Blue piercing eyes and skin that looks soft. Does it feel soft? He'd like to find out but he can't. Kurt also can hardly concentrate. It's important for him so he forces his full will to listen to Mr. Anderson. But his voice is to die for. The smile he has while explaining are too just like the hazel eyes that look at him.
"Got it?" Blaine asks when he's done. "Yes thank you" Kurt answers and wow Blaine really loves that voice. It's angelic. Unique. He could listen to it all day. But he can't. What is he thinking? They are student and teacher. He shouldn't think stuff like that. But why would he like to feel Kurts skin. Soft skin. To touch it. To kiss it. Stop.
"Alright then. It's been a long day and I still have to go to the studio. Practice and I'm sure you will get it right. You're really talented" Blaine says. He clears his throat and finishes cleaning the whiteboard. "Have a nice day and thanks again" Kurt says and before Blaine can turn around again Kurt is gone.
"What did Mr. Curls say?" Santana asks when Kurt comes home. "He explained a technique and told me to practice at home because he still had to go to the studio" the chestnut haired man says and sits down on the couch. "I left after quickly saying goodbye because I had to get away. I think this crush gets out of hand. I felt like I had to go or else I'd go to him and randomly take his hands. I want to know how they feel" he sighs.
"i tell you once again. Go for it. He's gay. You're gay. You both aren't bad looking and it's only 6 years age difference. Could be worse" Santana says and Rachel adds "Don't practice too much. We have to practice too". "Yes maybe Mr. Anderson could help you out and teach you. Private lessons you know?" the latina laughs.
"Shut up you two. That's not funny anymore. He explained and I looked at his lips, they are so beautiful. His eyes are stunning and I just had to get out of the classroom. I think he noticed because as soon as he finished explaining he turned around to clean the whiteboard and practically told me to go" Kurt pouts.
"Hummel is in love" Rachel sings and the other girl corrects "Hummel is obsessed". "Girls. Please" the man says. "Let us have our fun. Soon enough we'll be on our period again and you'll have to deal with the moody version of us" Santana says and laughs again. "Great" Kurt mumbles and stands up to go to his room to be alone with his thoughts for a while.
Very soon the girls are on their period and everytime Kurt ends up adapting their bad mood and sometimes even their cravings. Just not the pain and the blood. But that also means that he has to do almost everything for them. Like going shopping.
"Where's the oreo chocolate?" Santana asks. "I don't know. Kitchen?" Rachel answers from the couch. Kurt is in the kitchen to make himself a coffee and tea for the girls so he quickly looks for the chocolate and sees "We're out". "Noooo" comes from the girls in uniso. Kurt already knows what comes now. "Kuuuuurt? You love us right?" Rachel asks. "Yes I get you new ones. I hurry and you two try to not destroy the loft" the young man answers, puts on his shoes and leaves.
It's Saturday noon and Kurt knows it's a dumb time to go to the store. The whole store is packed with people. Kurt goes straight to the sweets, taking three packs of oreo chocolate and a role of oreos for himself. The line at the check out seems endless but he has no other choice than waiting for his turn.
"Kurt Hummel? Hi" someone greets him from behind and Kurt immediatly recognizes that voice. He will always know who it is without looking. "Hello Mr. Anderson. How are you?" he greets back, turning around to face the teacher. "Good. Good. I forgot the time in the studio or else I would've come here way earlier to avoid the long lines. How are you?" Blaine asks back with a smile and, oh my, Kurt adores this smile.
"I'm good too. We ran out of chocolate so the girls send me to get more. Also perfect timing. I told them I'll hurry" Kurt answers and laughs. A laugh that makes Blaines heart melt. Such a beautiful laugh. "The girls. Santana Lopez and Rachel Berry? You three always sit together in class" Blaine remembers and the younger man nods "We live together. I know Rachel since middle school and Santana since high school". "That's cool" Blaine says.
They move a few steps forward and the curly haired man changes the topic "How's it going with your breath control for your final song?". "To be honest I'm still struggling I didn't have much time to practice because of the girls so it didn't really improved. I'm afraid that I don't get it right until graduation" Kurt admits.
"Hm" Blaine thinks "Okay I actually didn't want to do this because it would make it look like I prefer some students over others and it could be unfair but what if I give you some private lessons after class until you get it right?". "You would do that?" Kurt asks surprised and the older man laughs his beautiful laugh "I just, offered didn't I?". "That would be awesome" Kurt says "Thank you".
"One hour after my class each week?" Blaine asks but Kurt shakes his head "I can't on Friday's because I have to work but Mondays and Wednesdays are fine". "Okay Monday and Wednesday it is. One hour and then we'll see how fast you improve. Where do you work?" the teacher asks interested and Kurt answers "I'm a waiter at the spotlight diner. Fridays to sundays with the girls. For rent and groceries and everything". "Cool. I had so many mini jobs when I studied. Tutoring, baby sitting, pet sitting, piano lessens" Blaine tells.
"Looks like you're up next" Blaine says, pointing to the line behind Kurt who mumbles "Finally". Only when he wants to take it out he realizes "Fuck I forgot my wallet at home. Rachel and Santana are going to kill me". "For coming home without chocolate?" Blaine asks amused but Kurts pokerface stays "Period cravings. Girls can get scary during that time". "Well that changes things" Blaine laughs and takes his wallet out "Put it to my stuff".
"You don't have to." Kurt starts but the other man says "I want to. Maybe to repay me you could buy me a coffee after our tutoring session or so? After all you don't want to be burried alive by two girls right?". "Okay. Thank you so much Mr. Anderson. Really thank you. You're saving my life" Kurt thanks and both men laugh while Blaine pays for both of their stuff.
"How do you get home?" the teacher asks while they go outside. "Like I came. With the subway" Kurt grimaces "Which I now realize I have my ticket at home in case of controls". "Happens to the best. If you lead the way I can drive you" Blaine offers. "You're really saving my ass. Thank you" Kurt answers and both laugh again.
The drive is pretty quiet. Kurt gives Blaine directions and music plays to which they both sing along to now and then. The traffic is okay for New York standards so Kurt is glad when Blaine stops the car in front of the tall building. Rachel and Santana are probably waiting for the chocolate, either sitting on the couch or destroying the apartment. He has to try to sneak the oreos in or they will steal them from him.
"Thank you so much again" Kurt says again before he opens the door. "Always there to safe a life" Blaine answers and laughs "See you on Monday". "See you" Kurt answers and gets out of the car and both men smile at each other. Then Kurt turns around and takes out his keys, at least he didn't forgot them, to open the door. Blaine waits until the door closed behind Kurt before he drives home himself.
"Finally! What took you so long?" Santana greets Kurt as soon as the door opens. Like Kurt expected the girls rip the chocolate out of his hands. "Yeah. You're welcome" he just answers "Long line at the check out". For a second he conciders telling them about meeting Mr. Anderson but they are all moody and Kurt can't hear their comments already "Get some", "No he's too old", "He's gay", "He's our teacher". Instead he just takes the oreos to his room to watch a movie or call his dad and eat the cookies in peace.
At dinner Kurt finally tells them about Mr. Anderson, the talk they had, the private lessons, the wallet thing and that Mr. Anderson drove him home. He knows the girls too well because they said exactly what he had in mind. He just shrugs it off. The day after tomorrow he will have his sirst private lessons with Mr. Anderson.
