Super Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon struggled as Mistress 9 stood her ground, her barrier holding up against their Double Moon Heartache.
"We need more power, Chibi Moon!" called out Super Sailor Moon. "Enough to break through and blast her into pieces!"
The pink ordango answered with a nod, and with a bright pink spark from each of their rods, the Double Moon Heartache grew in power, which began pushing Mistress 9 back. The Daimon stood her ground, but her strength wasn't enough as her barrier broke and got sent flying across the air.
But at that moment, amongst the black sea of liquid, a pair of red eyes snapped open as Pharoh 90's voice boomed throughout the area.
"Come, Mistress 9! I've been waiting for this moment!"
Mistress 9 looked down as she smiled madly with joy. "Yes, Master Pharoh 90! Let us become one!"
As she fell towards the substance below, a large tendril came out from it and wrapped itself around Mistress 9, catching and pulling her into its depths. Super Sailor Moon and the others watched as the Daimon sank into the toxic sea of black. Then, it began to bubble as its level rose, and a pair of eyes snapped open in it while Pharoh 90's voice came again.
"Power! I'm overflowing with power! I can feel it surging throughout my body!"
"Now I get it!" gasped Sailor Mercury. "Pharoh 90 absorbed Mistress 9 and all of her energy!"
"At the rate, he's growing, he's going to engulf Earth!" cried Sailor Venus.
"And to make things worse, the barrier's weakening enough as it is!" said Solaris worriedly. "It along with Sailor Uranus and the others won't last much longer!"
"Come on, you guys! We have to stop him from getting any bigger!" Super Sailor Moon said. "We must protect the Earth no matter what!" She turned towards the mass with eyes. "Pharoh 90, this is the end of you!"
Sailor Moon and the rest of her party all unleashed their signature attacks at once.
"VENUS WINK CHAIN SWORD!"
"JUPITER COCONUT CYCLONE!"
"MARS SNAKE FIRE!"
"MERCURY AQUA MIRAGE!"
"SOLARIS ARROW OF SOL!"
"RAINBOW DOUBLE MOON HEARTACHE!"
All six attacks shot out and merged into one, creating a rainbow-colored beam, and struck into the purple substance.
Tuxedo Mask watched as the guardians struggled to keep up the pressure. "I want to help them, but I feel as though I'd only get in the way!" he thought. "But even so, I have to help! But how?" He looked towards his love and his daughter. "Usa. Chibiusa."
At that moment, he heard a voice that came from his mind.
"Use your power, Tuxedo Mask! You can help them!"
Tuxedo Mask blinked in surprise as the voice continued to speak to him.
"Concentrate! Focus your energy into your hand, and release it all at once!"
The masked man then looked at his hand and clenched it, doing what the voice instructed. When he did, he began to feel something building up in his hand. At first, he felt confused, wondering what was going on, but he quickly refocused and joined the guardians as he threw out his hand, unleashing his attack move.
"TUXEDO LA SMOKING BOMBER!"
A mighty silver blast of energy erupted from his hand, joining with the guardians' attack, making it significantly grow. Super Sailor Moon and Chibi Moon took notice of this and were surprised.
"Tuxedo Mask!" they both cried.
"Usa! Chibiusa! I'll help too!" Tuxedo Mask called to them. "No matter what happens, I'll always fight by your sides!"
The seven warriors continued to unleash their attacks at the epicenter of the abyss, making it ripple and surge. At first, it seemed to be working, but then Pharoh 90 laughed as the sea of purple now seemed to be absorbing their attacks.
Then, Super Sailor Chibi Moon grew weak, having reached her limit. "No, not now! I'm out of power!" she thought.
In seconds, the tiny guardian lost her strength to maintain her attack and couldn't even stay floating as she began to fall.
"Chibi Moon!" cried Super Sailor Moon.
Luckily, Tuxedo Mask dove down, managing to catch her just in time and carry her to safety on a ruined ledge from a building.
"This isn't working!" Solaris shouted as he stopped attacking. "I say it's time we amp up the power!" He looked towards the others. "Mercury! Mars! Jupiter! Venus! It's time we bring out the big guns! Let's use the unison fusion!"
"But which one of us do you want to fuse with you?" asked Sailor Mars.
"All of you," replied Solaris. "For each fusion, we'll have to use our most powerful attack and then move on to the next one!"
"But Solaris, you've never been able to fuse with us that many times!" pointed out Sailor Venus. "Are you sure you can handle it?"
"I'm gonna have to!" Solaris spoke bravely. "Besides, we're running out of options! We have to do what we can to take down Pharoh 90, and the Unison Fusion may be the only thing we got left! You girls with me?"
Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus were worried, but they all agreed.
Solaris then held Sailor Venus by her hand and synchronized as their bodies shone in yellow. Then, in a brilliant flash of yellow light, the two fused, and the Venus Fusion emerged from the light, quickly summoning its bow and arrow and aimed the abyss.
"SOLARIS VENUS CRESCENT ARROW!"
The Venus Fusion let the arrow fly as it shot down at Pharoh 90, piercing its mass and creating a mighty explosion. Then, she separated in two, reverting to Solaris and Sailor Venus.
Sailor Mercury came over and held Solaris's hand, making her and his bodies glow bright blue. Then, the two merged, forming the Mercury Fusion, who wasted no time gathering power into her hands as she held them up, creating a giant bubble.
"SOLARIS MERCURY BUBBLE METEOR BOMB!"
The Mercury Fusion hurled her bubble attack and hit its mark resulting in a mighty explosion of blue water, which showered everywhere. The fusion split apart, returning its component guardians to normal, and Solaris shot to Sailor Mars. The two reached out, touching each other's hands, and in a blinding flash of red light, another fusion emerged. The Mars Fusion dove down closer to Pharoh 90 while throwing several ofuda and making several hand signs. A magic circle then appeared just above the surface of the purple ooze, and the Mars Fusion let out a bellow as it used her signature move.
"SOLARIS MARS FIRE NOVA CIRCLE!"
A massive pillar of red and gold fire erupted from where the circle was blinding everyone with its dazzling light. The Mars Fusion looked up and saw Sailor Jupiter hovering from above. She then flew up and split apart Sailor Mars staying behind while Solaris continued up. Solaris and Sailor Jupiter soon touched hands synchronizing their powers, and in a sparking green flash of light, they fused.
The Jupiter Fusion set her sights on the cloud of smoke where Pharoh 90 was and held out her hands, concentrating as a sphere of green energy formed in her hands, sparkling and crackling with electricity. Then, when she generated enough power, the Jupiter Fusion unleashed her attack.
"SOLARIS JUPITER SPARKING METEOR CANNON!"
A massive green beam erupted from her hands, shooting downward and hitting Pharoh 90, resulting in a mighty explosion of green and crackling electricity upon impact. As the fusion rejoined the others, defusing, everyone wondered whether the attacks had any effect.
Their answer came when the smoke cleared. The ocean of purple representing remained intact as Pharoh 90's eyes reappeared as he laughed.
"So, this is the energy of those protected by their Guardian planets? How delicious!" he boomed. "What magnificent power!"
Super Sailor Moon and the others were shocked. But, unfortunately, there was worse to come. Due to using so much energy, Solaris and the Inner Guardians were now very weary and out of strength. One by one, they all fell on one of the roofs of the buildings where the Outer Guardians stood. Sailor Venus and Solaris fell close to Sailor Uranus, Jupiter by Pluto, and Mars and Mercury by Neptune.
"Solaris! Venus!" cried Sailor Uranus.
"Jupiter!" gasped Sailor Pluto.
"Mars! Mercury! Hang in there!" called out Sailor Neptune. "You've got to get up!"
But none of them couldn't reply, much less get up.
Then came more trouble. The purple had begun to bubble in its center, turning into a giant pillar that grew bigger by the second.
"You got to be kidding me!" Solaris grunted weakly. "Is that thing getting even bigger than before?!"
"It must have been when our attacks hit him," Super Sailor Moon spoke worriedly. "I think he must have absorbed them, and we just made things worse!"
Pharoh 90, now full of life, began to expand, trying to leave to fulfill his goal but was stopped by the barrier set up by the Outer Guardians. "What is this? I can't move!" he growled as the waves of his body crashed against it, causing it to flicker slightly. "Is this a barrier?"
"That's right!" Sailor Neptune shouted. "We won't let you out of Sankakusu!"
"And as long as we're here Pharoh 90...!" continued Sailor Pluto.
"We will stop you from invading Earth!" said Sailor Uranus.
Pharoh 90 chuckled in amusement as he leered with one eye. "Try as hard as you like, but it's already too late! I will crush every last one of you!"
The evil entity expanded his body, trying to break the barrier, causing the ground to rumble and shake. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto tried their best to stand their ground, but they too were growing weary from holding up the barrier for so long.
"Uranus, Neptune, Pluto! Hang in there!" Super Sailor Moon encouraged. "Don't give up!"
The pillar of bubbles at the center exploded as another geyser erupted forth, increasing the level even more. That was enough for the barrier to give in as it shattered into oblivion while the Outer Guardians collapsed from exhaustion their strength spent. Now no longer restrained, Pharoh 90's liquid body spilled out all over Sankakusu and into the city of Juuban, filling the streets with his purple goo everywhere. At the same time, amongst the thundering clouds in the sky, a wormhole appeared, revealing an image of a bright blue galaxy somewhere in space.
"What... the heck is that?" Sailor Jupiter asked while looking up.
Sailor Mercury then remembered when she saw Viluy's miniature universe at Mugen Academy. The memory alone made her realize what it was they were seeing, but it also filled her with dread. "Is that... The Tao Star System?" she murmured.
"Yes! It is! My long since forgotten home!" Pharoh 90 crowed with laughter, his red eyes gleaming with triumph. "Behold as I engulf your planet and make it one with myself!"
Super Sailor Moon and the others could only watch as Pharoh 90 spread himself further, swallowing up Juuban and beyond.
"We can't let him do this!" Sailor Mercury gasped as she struggled to get up. "If we don't find a way to stop him, he'll take over the whole planet!"
"But how? We've already hit him with everything we got!" Sailor Mars panted. "Even the Unison Fusion couldn't stop him!"
"Is this how it all ends?" Sailor Jupiter wondered, her filling with despair. "Is this the end of Earth?"
"No... It just can't be," Sailor Venus spoke, refusing to believe her eyes. "There has to be something we can do."
"Damn it," cursed Solaris as he punched on the cement. "There's got to be something! Anything we can do!"
While still hovering from above, Super Sailor Moon observed the situation as she tried to think of a way to win this battle.
"This black substance that smells like death is covering the Earth," she thought. "And everyone else has reached their limit. None of them even have any strength left to fight. What should we do? What can we do?"
Then, a soft glow from above caught her attention in the corner of her eye, which grew brighter. The same light caught the attention of the others as well. It even got the attention of Pharoh 90.
"What is that repulsive light?!" he growled in disgust.
The answer came from above the clouds, which had begun to dissipate. Shining its bright light onto all, revealing itself to be the source, was the full moon, much to everyone's amazement.
Super Sailor Moon closed her eyes feeling calmer. "This light... it feels so warm. Just like Mamo, my friends, and even my family, who have always been there for me," she thought. She then remembered her past life and the happy times she shared with her friends, family, even the Outer Guardians. The blonde ordango also remembered what Sailor Chibi Moon said about Hotaru when she learned about her passing. "Ever since my previous life, you've all watched over and supported me."
Her heart filled with determination and courage as she realized what she had to do.
"Now, it's my turn to protect them. I still have power left, the power from my friends, which means that I'm the last chance they got and the only one who can still fight. Me and the power of the Legendary Silver Crystal! I'll stop him by releasing all of the power of the Moon Chalise and the Legendary Silver Crystal from inside of him!"
Super Sailor Moon then held her hands above her head. "Now, Moon Chalise, come to me!" she ordered. "O, Legendary Moon Chalise of lore, filled with the last of all ten Guardians power!"
At her command, the Moon Chalise appeared, shining as bright as a star, and Super Sailor Moon held it close to her chest, steeling herself for what she was about to do.
"Usa! What are you doing?" called out Tuxedo Mask. "What do you plan to do?"
Solaris then realized, which made his eyes go wide. "Wait. Sailor Moon. You're...! you're not going to...!"
Super Sailor Moon looked across to where Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Chibi Moon were, gave them a wink and a smile, and looked across to Solaris and gave him a nod. Then, to the shock and horror of everyone, the lone ordango guardian began flying downward straight towards Pharoh 90.
"No, don't! Usa!" yelled Tuxedo Mask.
"Sailor Moon, don't do it!" Solaris shouted.
But it was too late as Super Sailor Moon dove into the sea of black with a mighty splash, vanishing beneath the surface. Everyone tried to look for any sign of her, but they couldn't see anything or anyone.
"Where is she?! I can't see her!" cried Sailor Venus.
"I don't know!" said Sailor Mars. "She... disappeared!"
"You... you don't think that she's..." Sailor Jupiter spoke being trailing off.
"No... No, it can't be!" Sailor Mercury spoke, her hands clasping her mouth.
Tuxedo Mask punched the wall in frustration and grief as he fought back his tears. "Usa... I let you die alone right in front of me! I didn't protect you!"
Sailor Chibi Moon was just as horrified, her eyes filling with tears as she began to cry. "Sailor Moon...! Mommy!" she wailed.
As he stared at the ocean of darkness below, the memory of Silver Millennium's destruction flashed in his mind. "This can't be happening... Not again...! Sailor Moon...! Usagi..." he spoke, his voice cracking as his eyes teared up. "SISTER!"
Even Sailor Uranus was grief-stricken as flashbacks of her past interactions with Usagi filled her mind. "No! Not this! It can't be true!" she cried out. "All I wanted to do was protect her with my own hands! That's all I wanted to do! How could we allow this to happen?!"
Everyone was grieving for the loss of Super Sailor Moon, unsure of what to do. But then, the Outer Guardians' talismans all began to glow, Pluto's Garnet Orb going hot pink, Neptune's Deep Aqua Mirror a soft teal, and Sailor Uranus's Space Sword a pale yellow, as they began to resonate.
The three Outer Guardians all raised their talismans high, without thinking or reason as they glowed even brighter. No sooner when they all did, each one erupted in a giant pillar of light, releasing an immense amount of power. As they did, something began to happen below the surface of the black sea. An ominous glow began to shine inside it, growing brighter with each second.
"What is this light that's coming from my body?!" demanded Pharoh 90. "What's going on here?!"
Then, from the depths of the darkness, a massive violet pillar of energy erupted from the darkness, causing shockwaves of wind to rage about, forcing everyone to brace themselves while trying not to get blown away. The black liquid then swirled and churned as a whirlpool formed at the center. Then, from inside of it, a violet sphere of energy slowly came forth with a human body inside of it. Sailor Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto's faces went pale, knowing fully what that thing was.
"Oh no!" Sailor Neptune spoke with horror. "Is that..."
"It can't be...!" murmured Sailor Pluto with dread.
Sure enough, as the sphere of violet burst like a bubble, the person inside emerged, revealing their true identity, which was a familiar face. She was a young girl with short dark purple hair and pale skin, wearing a sailor uniform like the Guardians. However, unlike them, her choker, collar, elbow fittings of gloves, skirt, tiara gem, and knee-high boots were colored dark purple, and front and back bows were maroon. In addition, she had shoulder pads that looked like petals of a flower, a six-point star on her choker, a white crystal on the center of her front bow reminiscent of a pure heart, and pearl-adorned earrings with rings with dangling dagger pendants. In her hand, she held a spear-like weapon that was about twice her size and had a long, curved blade.
"I am an emissary from the abyss of death," the mysterious sailor warrior spoke in a stoic demeanor. "Protected by Saturn, the Outer Planet of Destruction. The Guardian of Silence. I am Sailor Saturn."
"S-Sailor Saturn?" repeated Sailor Chibi Moon as she and Tuxedo Mask gazed at the guardian from their ledge.
"Again, she's fully awakened," Sailor Neptune murmured, her eyes wide with fear.
"No... it's just like before," Sailor Uranus spoke, her heart pounding.
"We failed," said Sailor Pluto. "We couldn't stop her from awakening."
As Solaris stared at Sailor Saturn, his body went frozen like a statue, and it felt as if his heart was skipping beats. "What is this feeling? It feels as though I'm stuck on the ground, and I've turned to stone," he thought. "Is this... is this what terror feels like?"
The Inner Guardians were also frozen, unable to speak as they too stared at the guardian before them.
"It feels as though it's been a short time ago since I got summoned in the last crisis, before my awakening," said Sailor Saturn. She smiled mirthlessly. "And it seems as though I remain the uninvited guest." She looked down towards the abyss below. "The gradual overlap of coincidences has accumulated and eventually caused a dangerous aberration in the course of the events. As a result, history itself became slightly altered.
The Guardian of Silence then quickly descended to the abyss below until she was hovering just above the surface of Pharoh 90's body. Then, she plunged the back of her weapon into it, creating a massive shockwave which in turn caused the evil creature to cry out in pain for the first time since his arrival, sparkling and crackling.
"I-I can't move!" wailed Pharoh 90.
But Sailor Saturn continued speaking, paying no attention to him. "Hotaru should have died after the accident in Mugenzu, but instead, she got forced to live an unexpected and inconceivable life as a cyborg. It was a huge shock to her body which also caused a disturbance in my soul, which shouldn't have been disturbed and asleep. Professor Tomoe's twisted heart attracted these aliens to our world, eventually leading to our survival inside a vesselized body. But alas, there's no helping it. We were all drawn to this place, and a passage from another world opened up for a specific reason. That reason that this place is the chosen land. This path we've been on was all predestined by fate long ago, the path of destruction." She then pulled out her weapon from Pharoh 90 and took a stance, holding her glaive in her hands. "And now that I've awakened, I must swing my weapon, the Silence Glaive, fulfilling my destiny."
Sailor Saturn slowly ascended until she was high above the area.
"The Silence Glaive is the scythe of the goddess of death!" cried out Sailor Neptune. '
"If she swings it, it will annihilate everything!" said Sailor Pluto, now alarmed.
"No! Does this mean... that there's no future?!" Sailor Chibi Moon thought fearfully.
"Damn it! I refuse to let this be our fate! Not again! I won't let it happen!" Sailor Uranus objected as she struggled to her feet. "Stop, Sailor Saturn! Don't do it!"
But Sailor Saturn didn't hear her as she pointed the blade of her weapon up to the sky while calling out the name of her special move.
"DEATH REBORN REVOLUTION!"
Violet ribbon-shaped projectiles swirled around her Silence glaive and her body, causing a vertical beam of light and a destructive spiral of wind to appear around the surrounding area. The pillar of light also shot so high that it reached the portal leading to the Tau Star System.
Pharoh 90 howled even louder in agony as the same energy struck him repeatedly. "My power... is being sucked out of me!" he roared. "And this massive negative aura! It's the same dormant power that surrounded the Omega Area! This awakening power has to be the light that brings destruction! It came from her!"
As this continued, the wind and power began to make Pharoh 90's body start to deteriorate, making it turn into a tornado.
"No way!" gasped Tuxedo Mask as he hugged Chibi Moon to protect her. "She was able to pull him off the planet's surface?! What frightening and destructive power!"
"Abominable existence! Invader!" Sailor Saturn called out. "I now condemn you and Earth to total annihilation!"
At this point, all of the guardians had no hope remaining, as Sailor Saturn prepared to swing.
"Is this world going to be destroyed, too?! Are we going to die here because of an evil force destroying our home again?!" Solaris thought as his eyes remained on Sailor Saturn. "No, this can't be how it ends! There has to be something, anything, that can stop this!"
As his life flashed before his eyes, the guardian of the sun wracked his brain, trying to think of a way out, something that could help him find a solution. At that moment, a memory of his past life came to the surface of his mind.
It takes place when the Silver Millennium still stood. Little Prince Taiyou stood with Queen Serenity from a balcony watching Princess Serenity play with the Inner Guardians in the meadows.
"She seems so happy, doesn't she, Mom?" Prince Taiyou asked with a smile.
"Indeed she is," agreed Queen Serenity. "It always makes me happy to see your sister smile like this." The woman then paused as she looked at her son. "Taiyou, would you mind if I asked you a question?"
The little boy looked up as he faced her. "Of course, Mother. What is it?" he replied.
"Do you know what the sun's purpose is besides giving us warmth?" Queen Serenity asked.
Prince Taiyou thought for a few seconds before shaking his head. "No, Mom. I don't," he said.
"Well, the sun has many of them," said Queen Serenity. "First, it's what holds the Solar System we know and love together. It also provides heat, energy, and many other necessities beneficial to our kind on the Moon, Earth, and other planets. But the most important thing about it is because of what it represents. And because you're the guardian of the sun, it's important to remember that you represent this as well—the light of hope. Someday, when I am long gone, your sister and the other princesses will depend on you to protect them and to give them hope in their darkest hour. It is a responsibility you must shoulder no matter what."
Prince Taiyou listened to every word she said, but he couldn't help but feel a bit worried. "But Mom, I'm not sure that I'll be able to handle that. It seems a bit scary, and a guardian shouldn't be scared, right?"
Queen Serenity got down on her knees and gently held her son by his shoulders while smiling warmly.
"It's okay to feel scared. Fear isn't something to be ashamed of," she said. "It makes you learn what your weaknesses are, and once you do, you can grow into a stronger and gentler person. And I have confidence that I can leave Serenity and the others in your hands in the future. So, if you're ever feeling afraid or overwhelmed by the darkness, just remember that the light inside of you has the power to break through it. Just let it shine in your heart, and let it give you the strength to fight and give the disheartened hope."
The blade of the Silence Glaive began to glow bright purple as the wind and energy blew harder, and Pharoh 90's body began to shrink and grow gray, but that wasn't the only thing that was going on. Massive explosions shook the city, buildings began to collapse, the seas started to dry up, and everything living started to wither and die.
"This is the end! We can't stop it!" Tuxedo Mask spoke. "The moment she swings the Silent Glaive, she'll destroy the alien and the world along with it!"
Sailor Chibi Moon's heart filled with panic upon seeing Sailor Saturn's cold expression, as the Guardian of Silence gripped her scythe of destruction and gave it a mighty swing, only for a broken sword to stop it dead in its tracks.
