As always Kurts weekend is spend with work in the evening and this week it was also his time buying the groceries. Luckily his boyfriend came along because he had to go shopping too. That not only means that Kurt had help but also that he didn't need to take the subway and that he could spend some time with Blaine on the weekend. Buying groceries only seems half as bad now.

On Monday after school Blaine surprises Kurt with their recordings from last Thursday on a CD and in a file so he can listen to them on his phone. They don't stay long after school tho because Kurt looks as tired as he feels. Like most mondays he had a very short night but a long day with one class following the next.

They decide to hang out some other day but tomorrow Blaine has a meeting to talk about all the possible songs that could make it on the album and Blaine has to give everything to get 'Not Alone' on it. When he proposes Wednesday the younger man shakes his head, saying that he's got something to do and most likely has to leave immediatly after class ends if not earlier. Thursday it is.

Blaine is surprised when he comes into the classroom on Wednesday and doesn't see Kurt sitting in his usual chair next to Santana. Pushing the thoughts aside for a moment he puts his bag down and greets his class. Maybe whatever Kurt had to do started earlier? But what if not and something happened? Wouldn't Kurt have texted him then?

"Rachel, Santana, could one of you maybe tell me where Kurt is?" he asks as casual as possible and the brunette answers "He didn't feel well so he left before lunch break". The worry in Blaine grows but he nods and turns back to the class "Okay everybody. Today you have time to practice for your finals. I will walk around and listen to each of you. Maybe you have questions or I have an advice for you. After all it's only around five weeks until your finals. Now spread out and get to work". Just like that everyone starts with their own stuff.

Luckily class keeps him busy enough to not think about Kurt too much and somewhat focus his mind on class. When he started teaching he felt strange but now it almost feels natural. Still Blaine is exited when he's back to only being a musician. By now it's clear that he will teach until the summer break and the graduating class until their finals.

At some point his thoughts wander back to Kurt. The last time Kurt stayed at home because he was sick was the day after Blaines fans took them by surprise. The day after Kurt told him about his high school trauma. What if something happened that has to do with that? Blaine doesn't know but he has to find out.

When class ends Blaine doesn't wait before he goes to Rachel and Santana. The other students will most likely think that he talks to them about their songs or something. "Girls before you go can I ask you why Kurt isn't feeling well? Did something happen? He said he has plans today" Blaine asks. Both girls look at each other shortly before Rachel says "It's his moms death day today. He wanted to try but really wasn't feeling well so he went home. He probably called Burt in the noon but this day is always hard for them both".

"Do you think it's okay if I stop by later?" the curly haired man asks and both girls nod while Rachel adds "I think he would be glad to see you but don't wonder if he's closed up or just really quiet". "I don't mind. I just want to be there for him. You two go home and don't tell him that I'm coming. I'll just get something from the store quickly" Blaine says and as soon as the girls are gone and the classroom is empty Blaine takes his stuff and goes as well.

Kurt is in his room, laying on the bed and staring at the ceiling. He cried, he talked to his dad, he cried some more and he feels empty. Something in him is missing. It was gone with his moms death. The door bell rings but he can't find any strength. "Can someone else open the door? I'm in the bathroom" Rachel asks and Santana answers "Can't. I'm changing". The young man sighs and stands up. Since he has no other choice Kurt leaves his room and opens the door.

"Blaine?" he asks in disbelief when he sees his boyfriend coming up the stairs. "Hey sweetheart" Blaine greets with a little smile "Rachel and Santana told me why you weren't in class and I thought I stop by to see if you're okay and to keep you some company". "Come in" Kurt says and closes the door behind his boyfriend. "I hope it's okay that I came?" the older man asks and turns around to face his boyfriend.

Instead of answering Kurt throws himself in Blaines arms, hugging him tightly. "It's okay. The girls told me how hard this day is for you and I know what she meant to you" the curly haired man whispers, one arm around Kurts back and the other on the back of his head. It's quiet for a second until a quiet sob escapes Kurts lips "I miss her so much". "I know sweetheart. I know" Blaine answers softly and lets Kurt cry in his arms. He wishes he could take some of the pain away but this pain is different from any other and the best he can do now is be there for Kurt.

Only when Kurt is ready Blaine breaks the hug but stays close to him. The younger takes him hand and leads him to his room where Kurt takes another tissue to blow his nose and dry his tears. Wordlessly Blaine sits down on Kurts bed until the latter sits down next to him and asks "Should we watch a movie?". "Okay. Do you know which one?" Blaine asks back while he opens Kurts laptop.

His desktop background is a family picture. A young Kurt smiles happily at him. On his left side stands Burt who didn't change at all over the years and on Kurts other side a beautiful woman. Her smile is just as bright as Kurts and they have the same hair color. Her skin is even more pale than Kurts but her eyes just as blue. "Is that your mom? You look like her" Blaine says when his eyes lock with Kurts ocean blue ones.

"Yes that's her. We took the picture before she lost her hair due to the chemotherapy" Kurt tells "That's also why she's more pale than me. She wasn't feeling well that day. She was already weak but she still did the photo shoot with us". "She was a beautiful woman" Blaine compliments "Everytime you smile her smile breaks through too". "Charlie and the chocolate factory" Kurt answers before he can start crying again.

"Let's watch Charlie and the chocolate factory" Kurt repeats when he sees Blaines confused look. "Ah" the other man nods and opens Netflix. They lean back against the wall and watch the movie on the laptop, resting on Blaines lap. Not even five minutes into the movie Kurt says "It was my moms favorite movie" before he leans against Blaines side and rests his head on the others shoulder. The curly haired man smiles at the comment and the movement but doesn't answer. He likes that Kurt isn't as closed off as Blaine first thought he would be.

Just as the movie ends the couple hears Santana ask "Kurt I could use your help in the kitchen. Berry burned herself again". "And this is why Rachel never cooks alone" Kurt sighs and sits up. "It's okay. I can check if you want" Blaine offers and sees his boyfriend smile and nod "Thanks you. You're the best".

The curly haired man presses a kiss to his boyfriends lips before he stands up to give Kurt some space and help the girls in the kitchen. Santana stirrs the sauce while Rachel holds her hand under luke warm water. "How can I help?" he asks and the latina immediatly answers "Finish cutting the vegetables. They have to cook in the sauce in a few minutes before we can eat".

Blaine nods and asks "What happened?". "I don't trust frodo with a knife so I let her stirr but she tried to touch the handle of the pot and burned her palm" Santana says and shoots a half annoyed, half worried look to her best friend. "I can take a look at that when I finished cutting the vegetables if you want" the man says and Rachel nods before she looks at her hand again.

When Blaine finishes chopping he takes a look at Rachels hand. It was good that she immediatly cooled it with water but Blaine still puts some burn cream on it and wraps a bandage around it for protection. "That should be okay again in a couple of days" he says to Rachel who thanks him with a smile. Just as she wants to ask how Kurt is doing Santana announces "Dinner is ready".

She calls again "Hummel come or it'll get cold" but Kurt doesn't come out of his room so Blaine decides to looks after him. He goes to the door, knocks and comes in only to see Kurt outside at the emergency stairs. Alone, in just a shirt, looking up to the sky. Quickly Blaine decides to take a plate and two forks "You two eat and I'm with Kurt". The girls nod. The have an idea where Kurt is and it's good if Blaine is with him.

"Kurt?" the curly haired man asks. "Hm?" the other man answers without looking at his boyfriend. "I brought us dinner. You should eat something" the older man says but he isn't surprised when Kurt answers "I'm not hungry". "I think by now I know you well enough to know that you haven't eaten much today. Please eat something now? We share" Blaine insists.

"Also let me get something else from inside" he quickly adds and pushes the plate in Kurts hands "You can start eating if you want to". Only a moment later he comes back outside with a comforter and two bottles of water. "It's starting to cool down and I don't want one of us to get sick" he says and sits back down again next to Kurt "Now let's eat and after that we can talk. Or not talk. Whatever you want".

They eat in silence, sipping on their water from time to time and after eating finally cuddle under the comforter. The soft fabric warms their bodies and Blaine puts the plate down before wrapping an arm around Kurt to pull him closer. "What happened in the kitchen earlier?" Kurt breaks the silence and his boyfriend explains "Rachel burned her hand but she should be fine again in a few days". On that Kurt only nods.

"She's right there somewhere" Kurt says after some more silence. "Your mom?" the curly haired man asks and the younger nods "My dad named a star after her for her birthday when he was pregnant with me. She always loved to watch the stars and I started kicking when she was stargazing. She also went into labour during a night she was stargazing. I like to look up and imagine seeing her. How she looks down to us, watches us, protects us, waves and smiles at us. Even tho I have no clue where her star is up there". "That sounds beautiful. Your mom sounds like a wonderful person" Blaine says and his boyfriend nods "She was".

Blaine and Kurt stay out long that night, watching the night sky and the city that never sleeps. They talk some more but most of the time they sit there in silence and just enjoy the company for the moment. When Kurt feels a little cold he cuddles closer th his boyfriend who wraps a second arm around him and gives him a soft kiss on his temple.

Around midnight they decide to go inside again and get ready for bed. There are lots of classes tomorrow for Kurt and after class a meeting for Blaine so they have a long day ahead of them and the girls are already in bed. Since it got quite late and today has been very emotional for Kurt the older man promised to stay over night and take the three students to school tomorrow.

"Blaine?" Kurt asks when he lays next to the questioned man. The lights are off and they are ready to go to sleep, Kurts body pressed to Blaines side. "Yes?" the other man asks back. "Thank you honey" the younger man whispers. "For what?" Blaine asks. "For taking such good care of me. For being here, listening to me and just sitting there in silence" Kurt says "Just thank you".

Now the older man turns to his side to face his boyfriend "Kurt, sweetheart, I'm always here for you. When you have a bad day or anything just tell me and I'll do everything I can to make you feel better or just be there for you". "Thank you" Kurt repeats "Goodnight". "Goodnight" Blaine answers and leans in for a quick, soft goodnight kiss before both finally go to sleep.
