Kingdom Hearts: Web of the Dark Heart
Chapter 1: Destiny Island
Author's Note: There's going to be times I use Peter or Wanda's civilian or superhero names but know I'm referring to the same individual.
Spider-Man started waking up to the sound of seagulls and the ocean waves crashing. Getting up he saw that he was transported to an island with structures built for children to play on: A climbing and zip-line tower, a treehouse close to a makeshift dock, a small freshwater pond, and what looked like a pirate ship built onto the rocks. He found Scarlet Witch unconscious close by.
Spider-Man: (Shaking her) Hey, Scarlet. Wake up.
Scarlet Witch: (Coming to) Spidey, what happened? Where are we?
Spider-Man: (Helping her up) Beats me. Looks like a island for kids to play on.
Off in the distance, not too far, was the main island.
Scarlet Witch: Doesn't look too far. We can probably find a boat and get over there.
Spider-Man: Pretty and smart.
Scarlet Witch blushed as they started searching. They found a simple rowboat tied to the docks.
Spider-Man: That was… Too easy.
Scarlet Witch: Something wrong?
Spider-Man: I don't think we're alone here. We better look around someone here.
Scarlet Witch it was better they look for anyone here while lowering her visor. Calling out, the duo looked around for anyone. Hidden close by in a cave, a 5-years-old boy came out. Grabbing his black slingshot, the Kuro Kabuto, the boy pulled out a rubber pellet. Wouldn't kill anyone but it'll stung on impact. With his Spider Sense tingling, Spider-Man caught the pellet before it nailed him. Scarlet Witch drew Kitetsu, ready to fight but Spidey stopped her.
Spider-Man: (Dropping the pellet) It's okay, kid. We're not going to hurt you.
Scarlet Witch put her blade back into its sheath to prove it. Out from the cave, the boy walked out. He wore a white shirt, red cargo shorts, orange sandal, and a tan satchel. His brown spikey hair was neatly done. But what stood out was his blue eyes burning red, like he hadn't gotten any sleep.
?: I'm sorry. I thought you were the bad people.
Spider-Man: Nah, Sport. We're superheroes.
The boy smiled, hoping they would help him. Scarlet Witch gently walked up to him and kneeled down to his level.
Scarlet Witch: (Making her visor go up) I'm Scarlet Witch but you can call me Wanda. This is my friend, Spider-Man.
?: I'm Sora. Sora Hendrix.
Spider-Man: You wanna tell us why you're out here all alone, Sora?
Sora: My daddy brought me here last night when my home was attacked by monsters. He took the spare boat to go get my mommy and my friends, Riku and Kairi. He hasn't come back with anyone.
Spider-Man: (Holding Kuro Kabuto) Almost nailed me pretty good, Sport.
Sora: (Thinking he was in trouble) Sorry.
Spider-Man: (Giving it back) Don't be. You had no reason to trust us. Tell you what: Why don't we take you home and we'll help you look for your loved ones.
Sora: Really?
Spider-Man: I'm a man who has the powers of a spider and she's a sword-wielding witch… We'll have those mean men crying for their mommies.
Getting aboard the rowboat, Sora stopped on the docks.
Sora: Mr. Spider, Ms. Wanda… What if my family come here and I'm not here to be with them?
Wanda gently picked up Sora.
Wanda: I promise, we won't abandon you. We'll stay by you until you're back with your family
Spider-Man: That's a promise from both of us.
Sora smiled at the heroes' promise. Helping them aboard, Spider-Man started rowing to the mainland. Sora, having stayed up an entire night, fell asleep in Wanda's lap.
Wanda: Poor dear must've stayed awake all night, ready to fight.
Spider-Man: (Rowing) Gotta be pretty brave to try and fight with only a slingshot.
Spider-Man watched Scarlet Witch pet Sora's head.
Spider-Man: (Stop rowing) You always wanted a child?
Wanda: … My dad wasn't overprotective of me on dating. I just never found the right guy. And being a Mutant doesn't really help my profile.
Spider-Man: I know. Tends to attract a bunch of weirdos.
Wanda chuckled lightly at the remark, knowing Mutants are barely tolerated in human society.
Wanda: Even though my father made Genosha safe for Mutants and is helping Professor Xavier, I still get the hostile look from people. And the Mutants I meet on Genosha just don't attract my attention.
Spider-Man: That bites. My love life hasn't been good either. I tried it with some I knew for a long time, but we just couldn't see each other anything else but friends.
Wanda: That stinks.
Spider-Man went back to rowing. As they need the docks, no one noticed dark clouds forming overhead. Wanda gently woke up Sora.
Wanda: (Lowering her visor) Let's find your loved ones, Sora.
Looking through town, Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch hoped to find Sora's loved ones. That's when Spider-Man noticed the dark clouds.
Spider-Man: Strange. Wasn't it sunny earlier?
?: (Clapping) Two superheroes now reduced to babysitting.
The trio saw the man in black cloak walking up. Sora buried his face in fear at the stranger.
Sora: He led the monsters that attacked last night. Don't let him take me.
?: I'll make you a deal, ma'am: Give me the boy and I'll spare you.
Scarlet Witch: (Drawing Kitetsu) Not a chance.
Spider-Man: (Getting ready to fight) You want him, you'll have to go through us!
Spider-Man charged at the stranger and threw punch after kick, but he just easily defended himself.
?: (Grabbing him) I've toyed with you long enough.
The stranger threw Spider-Man at Scarlet Witch's feet.
Spider-Man: Who are you?
The stranger removed his hood and revealed himself to be Spider-Man's evil dimensional counterpart, Wolf Spider but now sporting an eyepatch on his left eye.
Scarlet Witch: What?
Spider-Man: Impossible. You're supposed to be…
Wolf Spider: Destroyed. I was but slowly I started to revive myself. Through the Web of Reality, I've learned many things. All of which proved… (Snapping his fingers) Enlightening.
Out from the darkness, creatures of pure blackness with yellow eyes appeared. These were Shadow Heartless.
Wolf Spider: Get the boy. The woman you can destroy.
Spider-Man and Scarlet Witch tried to fight but their attacks just went through the Shadow.
Scarlet Witch: (As Sora clung to her) We aren't even hurting them.
Just when all hope seemed lost, a flash of light appeared and destroyed the Shadows but caused Wolf Spider to back away like a Vampire with a crucifixion. When the light died down, there in front of the trio stood Mickey Mouse himself. Only he wore a black and red leather clothing with his iconic shoes. In his hand was a strange sword. The hand guards were two shooting stars, the blade was light blue with white stars, and inside the hook was a crescent moon with a star. This was the Star Seeker Keyblade. Spider-Man could believe who was saving him: The iconic cartoon character and mascot for the Disney Company stood right in front of them.
Mickey: (Bringing out a star shape amulet) Everyone, touch this quickly! It'll take to safety!
Spider-Man: Are we really being saved by Disney's poster boy?
Scarlet Witch: Let's ask questions later, Spidey! If he's offering a way, I suggest we take it.
The trio touched the amulet in Mickey's hand and in a flash of light, were sent away from Destiny Island. Wolf Spider, unphased by this, use a web to communicate with someone.
Wolf Spider: He got away.
?: No matter. Time and Opportunity is on both of our sides. Continue with your plan.
