Chapter 8: Supply Run

Returning to the Ghost, Power Man was being brought up to speed on the situation by Wanda, who changed back into her civilian clothes with her powers.

Luke: (Taking his sunglasses off) So, Peter's evil counterpart is alive and wants Sora for a reason we barely know and is messing up the timestream for reasons we have no idea on.

Wanda: Pretty much.

Luke: Just another day at the office.

Peter: (Switching Karen back on) You need a place to change, Luke? We got to escape pods.

Luke: About that… Know somewhere I can get some clothes. I ended up there four weeks ago still in my uniform. I could use a hot shower and some new clothes.

Doom: (Coming into the lounge) Sir, CH-33P just a message from Merlin. Says he wants to speak with you. (Seeing Luke) Sir.

Luke rubbed his eyes, making sure he was seeing right.

Peter: (Before Luke said anything) That was a Clone Trooper.

Luke: Wow.

Wanda: You gonna want a room, Luke?

Luke: Thanks. (Heading up to the quarters) I'll get settled in.

Sora: Mr. Peter, you wanna play a game with me?

Peter: Maybe later, Sora. Wanda and I have to talk with Merlin about the mission, okay?

Sora looked disappointed until Luke spoke up.

Luke: I'll play with you, Spiky.

Sora: Thanks, Mr. Luke.

After Luke put his stuff in an empty room, he went back to lounge to play a game with Sora. Peter and Wanda went to the cockpit where Doom was.

Peter: Hey Doom, sorry you couldn't come with us.

Doom: That's quite alright, Mr. Parker. I've seen enough fighting to last a lifetime.

Peter: The Clone Wars?

Doom was unsurprised Peter knew about it. While he was waiting, took the time to browse Disney and stumbled onto the Star Wars Collection. Caught him off-guard on the series design and accuracy but decided not to question it.

Doom: Yeah.

CH-33P soon got a hold of Merlin and projected a holo-projection.

Merlin: Peter, Wanda can you two hear me?

Peter: We can hear you, Merlin.

Merlin: Excellent. I have just learned you sealed a Crack in a world.

Wanda: We did. It was a challenge but we succeeded.

Peter: We're on our way back to Traverse Town for some supplies. We found my friend, Luke, in the first world.

Merlin: That's what I wanted to call about. Apparently, these Cracks have brought in four of your friends. You found one that leaves three left.

Peter: Any ideas who exactly? I don't exactly have a short list of friends.

Merlin: Unfortunately, no. But don't worry, I'm sure they'll be open to helping you in your mission.

Peter: Thanks, Merlin.

Merlin unhung up as Doom went back to piloting the Ghost.

Wanda: You gonna be okay, Doom?

Doom: Don't worry, ma'am. I'll be fine.

Wanda left Doom to piloting the ship. Later, they arrived back to Traverse Town.

Luke: Nice town.

Sora came out, a bit sleepy. Her maternal instincts kicking in, Wanda went back and picked up Sora.

Wanda: Why don't you boys do the shopping? I'll put Sora to bed. Maybe pick him up a toy since he handled those two lackeys of Hades so well.

Peter: Sure, Wanda.

Wanda smiled then walked back inside.

Luke: (Walking) That's some girlfriend you got there, Peter.

Peter: (Blushing) Luke!

Karen: (In his earpiece) You do get flustered when that happens, Peter.

Peter gained an unamused facial expression. They soon came to the store.

Luke: I can get my own clothes, Peter. You go ahead with the groceries.

Peter nodded, knowing his friend can handle himself.

Karen: (As Peter browsed plushies) Your friend is really tough, Peter.

Peter: (Picking up a Donkey Kong plushie) Yeah but don't let that fool you. He's smart in his own way and his morals are good as well.

Karen: (As Peter browsed video games until he spotted the Mario Rabbids series) He sounds like a good ally to have.

Peter: Yeah… (Realizing) Wow, I didn't realize how much I missed my friends until I talked about it.

Karen: It's okay. I'm programmed to have emotional therapy training when needed.

Peter: Thanks, Karen. Maybe we can see about getting you a physical robot body when I don't need you.

Karen: I'd like that.

Peter brought his items to the counter as Luke came with not only clothes but some food.

Peter: (Listening some of the ingredients) Hot Dogs, Cheese, Chili? Luke, I didn't know you learned to cook.

Luke: We got a lot to catch up on, pal. And you haven't lived till you had one of my Power Dogs.

Peter: (As their items got ringed up) Is it going to be one of those food concoctions that makes you feel like you have super strength for an hour but shaves off a year of your life?

Luke: (Pausing for a bit) … Yes.

Peter: … You're gonna be the ship's cook.

After gathering up their items, Peter guided Luke to their inn. Since Peter and Wanda didn't check out, they still could use the room. Luke took the opportunity to take a good long shower.

Peter: (Seeing the Mario Rabbids games) Always wanted to play these.

Karen: My internet search determined these are ages 10 and up.

Peter: Relax, I'll make sure Sora doesn't play them without supervision. Contact Wanda and let her know we did the grocery shopping.

Karen jumped out of Peter's earpiece and contacted Wanda's visor. Wanda quietly turned on Sora's nightlight and left his room.

Wanda: (Answering) Hello?

Karen: Hello, Ms. Maximoff. I'm Peter's AI assistant, Karen.

Wanda: Are the boys done shopping?

Karen: Yes. They're just finishing their hygiene and will return to the Ghost.

Wanda gave a warm smile. A part of her felt happy about a part of this ordeal. She wanted to be a mother to some lucky child with a man she loved. Here Sora was in her care. She knew she'd have to return Sora to his parents. All she could do was learn from this experience of being a hero and a mother. Meanwhile on Sora's world, Wolf Spider was speaking with someone through a web.

?: THEY SEALED ONE OF THE CRACKS!

Wolf Spider: There's no reason to be frustrated. I can still feel the other four giving me strength. All I need to do is find places to secure them. Even if they sealed them all, I'll have enough power to make good on deal.

The figure revealed to be Xehanort himself.

Xehanort: (Calming down) Very well. Inform me when you have the boy and I'll take him.

Wolf Spider: Wouldn't it be simpler to just have the Heartless consume him. Then you'll have Kingdom Hearts unopposed.

Xehanort: Perhaps but having a Keyblade on my side might prove useful to my plans.

Wolf Spider: (Uninterested) Sure, whatever you say. As long as my own plans don't get effected by yours.

Xehanort: Of course.

Xehanort, in truth, had no idea if his plans would intertwine with Wolf Spider's but he didn't need to know that.
