Chapter 2: Guess Who's Stuck With Me Now?

After the announcement that Extermination Day is now happening twice a year, the streets of Pentagram City had become more chaotic than usual, with the denizens of Hell throwing riots and spiralling into panic. Meanwhile, Felix was casually watching a TV through the broken window of an appliance store, chuckling softly at a comedic commercial for a hotel that made the place sound like a joke.

"Felix!" Clara called out as she and her sister walked over to him, pulling a red cart behind them with packages. "You already finished your deliveries?"

"Yeah, just been waiting for you two," Felix replied with a lazy grin. "Hey, have you heard of this place? Some hotel that thinks it can redeem sinners."

"The Hazbin Hotel, it's apparently run by Lucifer's daughter," Clara said, glancing over at the TV.

"Well, the commercial is hilarious," Felix commented, turning back to the TV just as a looter snatched it and ran off. Felix glaring at the demon with his ears folded back in annoyance. Brushing it off, he moved on to the next TV as it played an ad for an assassination company named I.M.P. Felix's eyes widened at the sight of the owner.

Felix's gaze remained fixed on the screen, his eyes narrowing as the I.M.P ad played out. When the camera focused on the scrappy demon in the sharp suit, smiling cockily, Felix's body tensed. It didn't take long for recognition to hit him like a freight train. The Imp in the suit, Blitzø, was the same Imp that had killed him. Felix's yellow eyes flicked to the other two figures in the ad: a smaller, more nervous-looking imp, and a cheerful, confident one. The same two Imps that were there as well.

Felix's lips curled into a twisted smile, his ears folding back as his eyes burned with an unsettling mix of anger and amusement as he continued to watch the commercial

"That would be I.M.P, a small assassination company run by Imps. They should be receiving a delivery from us today," Odette explained, before noticing her sister nervously watching something. Following Clara's gaze, she turned to see Felix, his glowing yellow eyes fixed on them. His expression was emotionless, but it carried an unsettling, predatory quality, like a wolf studying its prey.

"...If it's alright with the two of you, I'd like to make that delivery," Felix said, his tone polite but firm, almost as if he wasn't going to accept a no. The way he spoke suggested he wasn't asking so much as stating a fact.

The sisters exchanged uneasy glances, uncertain look. They could feel the weight of his presence, the tension in the air, and though they didn't fully understand his intentions, neither of them was about to argue. Clara hesitated, her fingers fidgeting with the handle of the cart, but eventually nodded. "Sure, go ahead," she said, forcing a smile as she handed Felix the package.

Felix took it, gently tucking it under his arm. His lips curled into a faint smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "Thanks," he murmured as turned to walk away, letting a low, predatory rumble escape him. His tail flicked lazily behind him as he made his way down the chaotic street, leaving Clara and Odette standing there, their unease lingering long after he disappeared into the crowd.

In Imp City, a large, dark-coloured building stood out amidst the chaos, its red-coloured window panes glowing ominously against the perpetual dim light of Hell. Black and white horns adorned its structure, giving it an unmistakable silhouette. Inside, one of its many offices housed I.M.P., the Immediate Murder Professionals.

Two small Imps lounged on a battered couch in the reception area, the female carefully wrapping fresh bandages around the male's arm while a Hellhound sat lazily behind the reception desk. Loona, her phone in hand, snapped a photo of the pair with a mocking smirk, her tail flicking in amusement.

"So, how'd you two idiots get so fucked up in the first place?" Loona drawled, her sharp claws tapping at her phone as she uploaded the photos.

"Our last target put up more of a fight than the others," Millie replied, knotting the bandage and moving to put her husband's arm in a sling.

"Still can't believe he bit me. Do humans have rabies?" Moxxie grumbled, wincing slightly as his wife adjusted the sling.

"Don't think so, Hun," Millie said reassuringly, though her brow furrowed slightly. "Though he was a handful. Acted more like a wild animal in Wrath than a human serial killer. If Blitzø hadn't hanged that chain around him, we'd likely have ended up like that sad sack he had tied to the chair."

"Yeah, what was that about?" Moxxie asked, brow furrowing at the memory.

"Who knows," Millie shrugged, hopping off the couch and leading her husband toward the back of the office. "C'mon, let's check the kitchen. I think Blitzø keeps the painkillers in there." She suggested as they disappeared into the kitchen, leaving Loona alone at her desk, still scrolling on her phone.

Unbeknownst to her, the front door slowly creaked open as a menacing shadow crept over her workspace. The faint outline of fangs and glowing eyes loomed above her, the presence unnoticed until a deep voice broke the silence.

"Excuse me?"

Loona yelp in surprise, her fur bristling as she jumped in her seat, tossing her phone onto the desk with a clatter. Wide-eyed, she looked up to see the skull-faced sinner standing over her, a smirk playing on his sharp-toothed mouth.

"My bad, didn't mean to scare ya," Felix said smoothly, though the amusement in his tone betrayed the sincerity of his apology.

"Fuck! Watch it, you ass!" Loona snapped, baring her teeth at him before smoothing down her fur back into place. "The hell do you want?"

"This is I.M.P., right?" Felix asked, casually picking up her phone from the desk to hand it back.

Loona snatched the phone out of his hand, checking it for cracks before muttering, "Can't you read?" She waved vaguely at the sign on the front door and returned to her phone, entirely dismissive of him.

Felix's eyes glowed menacingly for a brief moment, his predatory aura intensifying, but the moment passed as quickly as it came. The sound of approaching footsteps caught both their attention as Moxxie and Millie returned from the kitchen, stopping short when they noticed Felix standing at the desk, Millie's cheerful expression shifting to confusion.

"Uh, Loona?" Millie began, nudging her husband, who froze at the sight of their unexpected visitor. "Do we have a…client?"

Loona glanced up from her phone with a huff. "Yeah, looks like it. Good luck." She leaned back in her chair, letting the two Imps handle the situation as Felix turned to face them, his fanged grin widening.

Moxxie, however, eyed Felix warily, his tail flicking nervously. "Uh… welcome to I.M.P. How can we help you?" he asked, trying to sound professional despite his unease.

Felix turned his gaze to the two Imps, a faint, unsettling smile curling his lips. "I've got a delivery for you," he said, holding up the package as his sharp-toothed grin widened. "Just needing someone to sign for it."

"Oh, these must be the ammunition Blitzø ordered. I can sign for them," Moxxie said quickly, stepping forward to take the clipboard from Felix. As he scribbled his signature, he couldn't help but notice Felix's glowing yellow eyes fixed on him, sending a chill down his spine. He hurriedly handed the clipboard back and grabbed the package from Felix. "Well, thank you for bringing this to us. You can go now," he added nervously, taking a step back.

"No problem, just doing my job," Felix replied smoothly, though his eyes lingered on the bandages covering Moxxie and Millie. "Mind if I ask what happened to the two of you? You seem pretty banged up."

"Oh, just a little trouble with our last job, no biggie," Millie said brightly, waving off the concern with a cheery smile.

"Yeah? What is it you guys do?" Felix asked, tilting his head as if genuinely curious, though his tone carried a faint edge of feigned ignorance.

"We're assassins," Millie replied proudly, placing her hands on her hips. "If there's anybody in the human world you want killed, you come to us. We get the job done, no questions asked."

"That so?" Felix's grin widened, his sharp teeth glinting in the dim light. "What a coincidence. I've been wanting someone dead. Who should I talk to for ordering a hit?"

"That'd be our boss," Moxxie said quickly, clutching the package tighter. "I'll check to see if he's free to take a client." Without waiting for a response, he scurried off toward Blitzø's office, his tail flicking nervously behind him.

Millie, on the other hand, remained with Felix, her cheerful demeanour unshaken. "So, who're you wantin' dead?" she asked, tilting her head curiously.

"Three people, actually. Maybe more," Felix said with a nonchalant shrug, his tone casual despite the weight of his words.

Millie raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Three, huh? Sounds like you've got yourself a grudge to settle."

"You could say that," Felix replied, his voice calm but carrying a dark undercurrent. His glowing eyes flickered briefly, the sinister grin returning to his face. He leaned back slightly, his sharp teeth catching the light. "So, this last guy you killed—he's the one that got you all battered and bruised?"

"Yeah, some serial killer. Tellin' ya, never had so much trouble offing a human before," Millie said, shaking her head, her cheerful tone carrying a hint of exasperation.

Felix's sharp grin widened at that, but before he could respond, Moxxie reappeared, nervously gesturing toward a door with Blitzø's Office scrawled on it in crude handwriting. "Blitzø is ready to see you now," Moxxie said, stepping aside quickly.

Felix raised a curious brow, sparing a glance at the amateurish signage before strolling toward the door. With a quick push, he entered, taking in the sight of a taller Imp lounging behind the desk. One of his legs rested on the table, wrapped in a cast, and a pair of mismatched red and white horns framed his cocky smirk.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" Blitzø drawled, leaning back in his chair as he sized Felix up. "A new client, huh? Or just a demon trying to waste my time?"

"Client," Felix replied smoothly, shutting the door behind him and crossing his arms. "Heard you're the guy to talk to if someone's got a hit they need handled."

"Damn right, I am," Blitzø said with a grin, reaching out to grab a pen and flip open a notebook labelled 'Totally Professional Hit Log'. "So, what kind of dirtbag we taking out for ya? Some ex who cheated on you? A boss who's been screwin' you over? Ooh, or maybe you're one of those 'I hate my mom' types!"

Felix chuckled darkly, shaking his head. "Nothing so petty. Just three names."

Blitzø leaned forward, arching an eyebrow. "Yeah? Just so you know, we don't do discounts for multiple targets."

"That won't be a problem," Felix said, his grin widening with that familiar, predatory gleam in his eyes. "But I'm curious, how is it you guys get to the human world?"

Blitzø's grin turned sly. "Well~, it's a closely kept secret, but you seem like a trustworthy guy." Without missing a beat, he reached under the desk and suddenly pulled out an old, tattered book. He slammed it onto the desk with a smug flourish, the pages flicking open with a sharp snap. "This fancy-ass book lets us travel in and out of the human world whenever we damn well please."

Felix raised an eyebrow, his sharp-toothed grin still lingering as he glanced down at the tattered book. "Didn't think something like that would be allowed."

Blitzø shrugged nonchalantly, his smirk unwavering. "Oh, it's not. But we don't go around telling people that. But back to business—" He snapped the book shut, giving Felix a once-over. "You said you wanted three people dead. Who're we offing, exactly? Come on, lay it on me."

Felix took the book in, his glowing yellow eyes flickering momentarily with curiosity before he passed over the list of names, and Blitzø took it without a second thought. "The three will be easy to find, they not the smartest around."

Blitzø unfolded the list with a practiced flick of his fingers. "Glad to hear it, now let's see who we—what the?" Blitzø's voice trailed off as his eyes scanned the names on the paper. His smile faded, and his brow furrowed as his gaze locked on the unexpected. His own name, along with Moxxie and Millie's, stared back at him in bold, unmistakable print. Confusion and unease crept onto his face as he glanced up at Felix, only to find himself staring down the barrel of a sleek revolver aimed directly at his head.

"OH, FUCK!" Blitzø screamed, diving to the floor just as the gunshot roared through the office. The bullet tore through the chair he'd been sitting in, shredding the fabric and leaving a gaping hole in the backrest. Blitzø scrambled on all fours behind his desk, his tail flicking wildly as another shot ricocheted off the corner of the furniture. Felix moved with unsettling calmness, his glowing eyes locked onto his target as the revolver smoked in his hand.

The chaos drew Moxxie and Millie rushing into the room, their faces twisted in confusion and panic. "Sir! What the hell is going on?!" Moxxie shouted, barely ducking in time as a bullet smashed into the doorframe, missing him by inches.

Blitzø's head popped up from behind the desk, glaring at his employees. "The fuck, Mox?! Why the hell did you bring a psycho into my office?!" he bellowed before ducking again as Felix fired another round, the bullet splintering the edge of the desk. "Oh, fuck this!" Blitzø snarled, pulling out a flintlock pistol from a drawer and firing back.

The wild shot being a hasty attempt at defending himself as Felix simply dodged to the side with a smirk, the room erupting into a full-blown firefight. His yellow eyes glowing dangerously as he returned fire, forcing Blitzø to duck again as splinters flew in every direction.

Blitzø's voice was thick with outrage as he shouted from behind the desk, still firing blindly. "You're seriously gonna come in here and then shoot up my office?! The fuck we do to you?!"

"You fucking killed me, asshole!" Felix's voice was sharp and filled with a venomous growl.

"Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?!" Blitzø yelled back in frustration, kicking over his desk, sending it crashing onto Felix, before scampering over it and bolting out into the lobby. Blitzø, in his haste, dived behind the couch that Moxxie and Millie had flipped over for cover. Loona huddled behind her desk, keeping her head down as the barrage of gunfire continued. Felix kicked the desk off of him, his feet landing hard on the floor as he dashed out of the office, only to duck back inside for cover as a hail of bullets rained down from Moxxie and Millie.

"Sir! What do we do?!" Moxxie called out as he reloaded his pistol.

Blitzø's tail flicked nervously as he clutched his flintlock. "Just keep shooting, damn it! He's gotta run out of bullets eventually!" Blitzø yelled, popping up from behind the couch to fire another shot, the old pistol belching smoke and missing by a wide margin. "Listen, you dumb fuck," He yelled from behind the couch, trying to steady his flintlock and firing again. "We killed a lot of people! You can't expect us to remember every sad loser we've sent to hell!"

Felix's voice rang out over the gunfire, a furious snarl in his tone. "You killed me on Extermination Day!"

Blitzø froze, the realization hitting him like a slap to the face. "Oh…shit. Okay, fair enough!" he called out as Moxxie and Millie exchanged a grimace.

"Oh crumbs, sir. It's the serial killer we killed during our last job," Moxxie whispered in a hoarse voice, clutching his sidearm.

"No shit, Mox! I know!" Blitzø snapped back, his voice frustrated as he aimed his flintlock at the door. "Look, dipshit, you killed a lot of people who wanted you dead! It was nothing personal!"

"Felt pretty personal!" Felix shouted out, his revolver booming again in rapid succession as a bullet buried itself into the couch that Millie and Moxxie had flipped over for cover, while another shattered a hanging picture frame, scattering shards of glass across the floor.

Felix's his gaze fell on the book Blitzø had shown him earlier. It was tossed haphazardly on the floor during the fight. He smirked, kicking it with his foot to pull it closer. As he picked it up and flipped through the pages, a malicious grin tugged at his lips. "And that ain't why I'm pissed!"

"Then why are you mad?!" Millie shouted from behind the couch, her tail flicking with impatience as she threw an axe twice her size at him. The blade pierced the wall near Felix's head, causing him to flinch slightly, though he remained unshaken.

Felix's expression darkened, his hand gripping the book tightly as he flipped through the pages with a focused gaze. "I'm pissed cause you let that sleazebag escape! All you had to do was wait five minutes!"

"What does it matter?!" Millie barked back, now peeking over the couch as she prepared for another attack before a bullet grazed her shoulder, making her yelp in pain as Moxxie grabbed her arm and pulled her back behind cover.

"It matters cause that guy is responsible for trafficking people!" Felix growled as he found the page he was looking for. His eyes flashed a darker yellow, an unsettling smirk spreading across his face.

"Well, we'll kill him too!" Blitzø shouted, his tone frantic.

"Forget it!" Felix sneered, his expression darkening even further as his eyes narrowed. "It ain't worth it until I hear him beg for it." He muttered to himself, before looking back up with a predatory smile. Felix's hands moved with purpose, a dark energy swirling around his fingers as he cast the spell in the book, the portal opening in a flash of light. The office was bathed in a blinding glow, startling everyone in the room. Blitzø's eyes widened in shock.

"Fuck! He's got the book, stop him!" Blitzø shouted, stumbling over the couch in a panic.

Loona, crouched behind her desk, snarled as she saw Felix step toward the portal, her hackles raised. Without hesitation, she sprang into action, leaping at him with teeth bared. "Loonie!" Blitzø shouted in horror, watching as Loona lunged at Felix. Loona tackled Felix just as he stepped through the portal, her body colliding with his in a blur of motion. Felix let out a startled grunt, but he didn't resist as they both fell through the other side before the portal slammed shut behind them, leaving Blitzø and the others in stunned silence.

Once on the other side, Felix hit the cold ground with a hard thud, Loona landing on top of him. The Hellhound snarled, her claws sinking into his arm as he grimaced in pain, his glowing yellow eyes narrowing in pain and annoyance. Felix clenched his teeth and with a sharp growl, he swung the book in his hand, striking Loona across the snout. Loona yelped in pain, momentarily releasing her grip before growling again, baring her teeth as she lunged for the book again. Her jaws clamped down on the cover, wrestling it away from Felix as he snarled back at her.

"Let go, mutt!" Felix growled, delivering a swift kick to Loona's side, sending her rolling off him. She landed gracefully, crouched and ready to strike again, the book clutched tightly in her jaws. "You're a persistent bitch, I'll give you that," He muttered darkly, raising to his feet unsteadily, clutching his bleeding arm, his glowing yellow eyes narrowing as he flicked the revolver up, ready to fire. But before he pulled the trigger, his attention was drawn away, his focus no longer on the Hellhound but on their surroundings.

The familiar factory he found himself in was cold and silent with dangling chains that swayed lazily from the high, darkened ceiling, clinking softly as they sway faintly in a draft that carried the metallic tang of rust and decay. A cold furnace loomed at the far end of the room looming like a gaping maw as it sat dormant. Felix froze, his grip on the revolver loosening slightly as he glanced upward to a bare of dangling legs above him

Loona growled, pulling herself upright and still clutching the book. Her claws flexed against the floor as she prepared to lunge again, but she stopped short when she noticed Felix wasn't paying her any attention. His gaze was fixed on the lifeless body hanging from one of the chains, the corpse swaying gently in the stale air.

Loona's growl faltered as she noticed Felix's shift his focus. Her claws remained at the ready, but she hesitated. "What's the matter, tough guy? Lost your nerve?" she snarled, though her voice carried a hint of confusion.

Felix didn't answer. His glowing eyes followed the chain suspending the corpse, his expression unreadable. Without a word, he raised his revolver, aimed at the link above, and pulled the trigger. The crack of the shot echoed through the factory, and the chain snapped. The body plummeted, hitting the ground with a sickening wet crunch.

Loona flinched slightly at the sound of the gun shot, her ears flicking back instinctively. She tightened her grip on the book, clutching it protectively against her chest as she took a cautious step back. Her tail lashed behind her, and her fiery red eyes narrowed at Felix. "What the hell's your deal?" she barked, her voice less aggressive now, tinged with unease. "You know the guy or something?"

Felix's lips curled into a humourless smirk, his glowing eyes fixed on the crumpled body before him. "That 'guy' would be my corpse," he said, his tone dripping with a grim amusement. Felix holstered his revolver, his focus entirely on the crumpled body before him. He crouched down beside it, tilting his head as if inspecting it for something. The corpse was grotesque—its face pale and twisted in a rictus of agony, its neck bruised and raw from the chain.

Loona's eyes widened slightly, her tail flicking behind her as she tried to process what he'd just said. "Your corpse?" she echoed, her voice tinged with both disbelief and growing unease. She tightened her grip on the book, her claws grazing its edges. "You're telling me that's you?"

Felix chuckled darkly, the sound low and devoid of any real amusement. "Yeah. What's left of me, anyway." His smirk faded into a grim line as he crouched over the corpse, his glowing eyes narrowing in thought. Without another word, he began rummaging through his own remains, his clawed hands sinking into his pockets.

Loona's ears perked in disbelief. "The fuck are you doing?" she growled, her stance still defensive as she clutched the book.

Felix didn't look up. "Take the book and go home," he muttered, pulling a wallet and a set of car keys from the corpse's pockets. He held them up, inspecting them briefly before tucking them into his jacket. "I've got unfinished business to deal with."

Loona scoffed, her tail flicking with irritation. "You mean that guy you were trying to kill?" She smirked, her tone laced with mockery. "You know, if I go, you'll be stuck up here for good, right? No portal, no way back to Hell."

Felix straightened, dragging the corpse toward the cold furnace with a surprising lack of reverence. "And? Just means I get to kill more douchebags," he replied, his tone flat and unfazed.

Loona crossed her arms, her fiery red eyes narrowing. "Not unless the angels catch wind of a Sinner illegally running around the human world killing people," she shot back, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Felix paused, glancing at her over his shoulder, his expression sharp and calculating. "Then I'll just tell them all about your boss and his little hitman business," he said coolly, a wicked grin spreading across his face as he turned back to his task.

Loona's smirk faltered, her ears tilting back slightly as unease crept into her demeanour. "You wouldn't," she said, though her voice lacked its usual confidence.

Felix chuckled again, his tone mocking. "Try me," he said simply, hoisting the body up onto the furnace's edge. "I've got nothing left to lose." He glanced at her once more, his glowing yellow eyes glinting with amusement. "You might want to think real hard before making enemies outta me, Hellhound."

Loona snarled, her claws flexing against the book. "You don't scare me," she snapped, though her grip tightened as her tail lashed behind her.

Felix smirked, his focus returning to the furnace as he gave the body a final shove. The corpse tumbled inside with a hollow thud, and he slammed the furnace door shut with a sharp clang. He pulled a lever beside it, and the furnace roared to life, casting an orange glow that illuminated the entire factory.

Turning to face Loona, his silhouette was dark against the infernal light, only his glowing yellow eyes and sharp white teeth visible in the harsh glow, his grin turning more predatory, like a wolf stalking its prey.

"You should be," Felix muttered, his voice low and dangerous as his shadow stretched unnaturally across the floor. It slowly twisted, taking the form of a massive wolf, its eyes glowing like embers as it loomed over Loona, threatening to engulf her.

For a moment, Loona froze. Her tail stiffened, and her ears flattened against her skull as the shadow crept closer, its form enveloping the space around her. Her fiery red eyes darted from Felix to the monstrous shape behind her, the book clutched tightly to her chest.

Felix's sinister grin widened, but then he stepped away from the furnace with a casual shrug. The shadow dissolving back into his own form, its menacing presence fading. "Relax, Pup. I've got no real issue with you," he said with mock reassurance. "And as for the Imps, I ain't mad they killed me. Fair's fair in this line of work." He stuffed his hands into his pockets, his tone shifting to something almost relaxed. "So let's make a deal."

Loona blinked, her defensive snarl easing into a suspicious scowl as she watched him carefully. "A deal?" she repeated, her voice still wary, though her tail had relaxed slightly.

Felix nodded, tilting his head slightly. "Yeah, I'm only interested in killing one guy. Once I've dealt with him, I'm more than happy to head back to Hell with you. No need to get heaven and its feathery psychopaths on our case, right?"

Loona raised an eyebrow, still clutching the book protectively. "And what's stopping you from making things worse?" she asked, her tone sharp.

Felix chuckled, raising his hands in mock surrender. "What, you don't trust me?" He let out a dry laugh. "Look, your more than welcome to come along and babysit me until I'm done. Help me out, and I don't snitch on your boss's business. Your call, Pup."

Loona hesitated, her sharp gaze locked on Felix. The hellhound's claws flexed again, the book gripped tightly in her hands. "Fine," she growled. "But if you so much as think about screwing us over, I'll tear your throat out."

Felix smirked, his fangs flashing as he stepped aside with a mockingly exaggerated bow. "Wouldn't dream of it," he replied smoothly.

"And don't call me 'Pup,'" Loona snarled, shoving past him with a glare. Felix's grin widened, but he said nothing as the two made their way outside the factory, stepping out into a vast field on the outskirts of a city. The sun was already setting, casting the sky in hues of orange and purple.

"So, how are we finding this guy?" Loona asked, her tone sharp as her fiery red eyes scanned the unfamiliar surroundings before glancing at him suspiciously.

"No idea," Felix replied casually, shoving his hands into his jacket pockets. "But I've got some contacts who'll know." He led her around the side of the factory, stopping at a small shed. With a quick tug, he threw off a tarp to reveal a matte black 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, its sleek curves gleaming faintly in the dying sunlight. "What do you think?"

Loona arched an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Real subtle. Aren't you supposed to be a serial killer?" she asked dryly, crossing her arms.

"What, you expect me to ride around in some creepy unmarked van or something? Yeah, cause that's not suspicious," Felix shot back with a sarcastic grin, running a hand over the car's hood.

"Whatever," Loona muttered, rolling her eyes. "At least put on your disguise before we hit the road."

Felix frowned, tilting his head. "Disguise?" he echoed, cocking an eyebrow.

"You weren't seriously planning to run around the human world looking like that, were you?" Loona replied, gesturing toward his clearly demonic appearance with an incredulous glare.

Felix paused for a moment, then shrugged with a sheepish grin. "...Well, not anymore I'm not," he admitted before giving her a pointed look. "You're no better."

Loona rolled her eyes again, muttering under her breath, before stepping back. With a flourish of blue flames, her hellhound form shifted into the appearance of a goth teenage human. Her new look bore striking similarities to her original form: she retained her edgy aesthetic, but now her sclera were white, her irises red, and her head was shaved on the right side. She wore the same outfit as before, though with some notable changes: now accentuated with black thigh-high socks, high-top sneakers, black lipstick, and an exposed navel. Her spiked choker was gone, replaced with a sleeker design, and her torn ear now sported two earrings on each side.

"Whoa," Felix muttered, momentarily caught off guard by the transformation. His gaze lingered just a bit too long, earning a sly grin from Loona.

"What's the matter?" she teased mockingly, placing a hand on her hip, leaning slightly. "Did I turn you on or something?"

Felix quickly regained his composure, smirking as he leaned against the Camaro. "Please. You're not my type," he shot back, though his lingering glance betrayed his interest. "Just didn't expect you to go full Hot Topic mascot."

"Uh-huh," Loona replied with a smirk of her own, already heading toward the car. "Whatever helps you sleep at night, 'Pup'. Let's just get this over with before I regret not leaving your ass behind," Loona muttered, pulling out the book and flipping to a specific page. She slid it across the roof of the Camaro toward Felix with a flick of her wrist. "Here. Read the spell and imagine what you want to look like. Simple."

Felix caught the book with one hand, his glowing yellow eyes narrowing slightly as he slid it closer. "And you're sure this won't turn me into some kind of clown," he quipped, giving her a wry look.

"Only if that's what you're imagining," Loona shot back with a smirk, leaning casually against the car. "Unless you want me to do it for you," She quipped, crossing her arms. "But I doubt you'd like what I'd come up with."

Felix smirked, flipping to the page she had indicated. "Point taken," he replied, glancing at the spell written in jagged, infernal script. With a low murmur, he recited the incantation under his breath.

As he spoke the final words, a dark, shadow-like mist began to envelop him, twisting and writhing like smoke caught in a gale. Loona watched, one eyebrow raised, as Felix's demonic form started to fade. The sharp claws and skeletal features melted away, replaced by the appearance of a man who looked startlingly human. His sharp yellow eyes remained, glowing with an ominous intensity, and his dark brown hair was an untamed mess, with strands sticking out in a way that seemed both deliberate and natural. His leather jacket and jeans remained, but the more overtly demonic elements like the spikes on his shoulders vanished, leaving his jacket sleek and unassuming.

The shadowy mist dissipated, leaving him standing in his newly restored human guise. Felix glanced down at himself, running a hand through his dishevelled hair before shooting Loona a cocky grin. "Well, how do I look?"

Loona raised an unimpressed eyebrow, though her lips twitched as if suppressing a smirk. "Like every edgy bad boy in a teen drama," she said dryly.

Felix chuckled, brushing imaginary dust off his jacket. "Perfect. Just what I was going for." He quipped, his smirk returning as he tossed the book back to her. "Let's roll, Hot Topic. We've got a guy to find." He slid into the driver's seat of the Camaro, the engine roaring to life as he revved it confidently.

Loona climbed into the passenger seat with a groan. "If you call me that again, I'm kicking you out of your own car."

"Noted," Felix replied as they sped off toward the city, the sun sinking below the horizon behind them.

By the time they reached the city, night had fully fallen, leaving the streets illuminated by the glow of neon signs and the steady rhythm of streetlights. The Camaro's engine hummed smoothly as it glided down the dimly lit streets, its glossy black exterior reflecting the city's electric haze.

Inside, the glow of Loona's phone screen lit up her face as she lazily scrolled through social media. Felix, on the other hand, was on his phone, one hand on the wheel.

"Thanks, man. Let me know what you find," Felix said, his voice low but steady as he ended the call, slipping the phone back into his jacket pocket with a sigh. He glanced at Loona, her eyes flicking up briefly from her screen. "My contact will get back to us in the morning. Till then, we find somewhere to crash for the night."

Loona didn't even look up from her phone, her expression unamused. "Great. Guess that means a flea-infested motel."

Felix smirked, shifting gears as he took a turn. "Hey, you don't like it, you can always sleep in the car."

"In this rust bucket? Yeah, I'll pass." Loona scoffed, her tone unimpressed.

"Rust bucket? This car's a classic," Felix replied, his voice feigning offense.

"Classic piece of junk," Loona muttered, earning a mock gasp from Felix.

As they pulled into a nearby motel, tucked between a greasy fast-food joint and a shabby convenience store. The neon sign flickered erratically, casting an eerie red glow over the rundown building.

"Great, a dump," Loona muttered, stepping out of the car and slamming the door behind her.

Felix followed suit, locking the car and checking the surroundings. "A bed's a bed," he remarked with a shrug, leading the way to the reception desk. Inside, a bored attendant sat behind the counter, barely acknowledging their presence.

"Two for the night," Felix said, sliding a casual hand into his pocket.

The clerk didn't even glance up. "Only got one room left," he droned, his tone flat. "We're fully booked."

Felix and Loona exchanged sceptical looks, their gazes briefly flicking to the empty parking lot outside.

"They're reserved," the clerk added, monotone and unconvincing.

Loona groaned, her fiery red eyes narrowing as she crossed her arms over her chest. "I'm not sharing a room with you," she growled.

Felix smirked, leaning on the counter nonchalantly. "You pay for it then," he said, giving her a sly glance. "If not, you can go find yourself a kennel."

"Oh, fuck you," Loona growled, her fiery red eyes narrowing. "I'll sleep in the car before I share a room with you."

Felix chuckled, clearly enjoying her frustration. "Guess it's the car, then. Just know you ain't getting the keys."

"You're such a dick." Loona snapped, brushing her hair back in frustration. She sighed heavily, glaring at him. "I'm not getting stuck in the car, alright? Just... whatever, we'll take the damn room."

Felix's grin widened as he tossed a wad of cash onto the counter. "Your call, Pup," he said, ignoring the growl that rumbled from Loona.

"I told you, stop calling me that," she growled through gritted teeth, snatching the key from the clerk's outstretched hand. "Just keep your damn hands to yourself," she muttered, stomping off toward the room. Felix followed leisurely, still smirking as he trailed behind her.

She unlocked the door and shoved it open, revealing a small, shabby room. The air smelled faintly of stale cigarettes and cheap air freshener that failed to mask the underlying mustiness.

The room was small with shabby furniture, a small bed with faded sheets, a TV with a thick layer of dust, and a bathroom door that looked like it had been kicked in at least once.

"Don't get too comfy," Loona warned, throwing the key onto the nightstand. "I'm not sleeping next to you."

Felix simply shrugged, tossing his jacket onto the chair by the door. "Whatever you say, Hot To—uh, Loona," he corrected quickly when she shot him a sharp glare. "You can sleep on the floor if it's that big of a deal."

Loona clenched her fists, letting out a low growl. "Keep talking shit and I'll—what are you doing?" she trailed off as she watched Felix drop to his hands and knees, peering under the bed.

"Tell ya in a sec," Felix muttered, his sharp yellow eyes scanning the shadowy space beneath the bed frame. He got to his feet, dusting his hands, then moved methodically around the room. He checked the lamps, peered into the air vents, and squatted to examine the old TV.

Loona watched him with a mix of confusion and irritation. "Seriously, What's your deal?"

Felix ignored her, his gaze landing on the smoke detector tucked in the corner of the room near the ceiling. His expression darkened as he grabbed the rickety chair by the door and dragged it underneath the device. Climbing up, he pried open the cover and froze, a sly grin spreading across his face.

Loona's eyes narrowed. "What is it?"

Felix yanked out a tiny camera concealed within the smoke detector, holding it up for her to see before unplugging it with a sharp tug. "Was looking for this," he said, jumping down and tossing the camera onto the nightstand.

Her fiery eyes widened slightly. "A hidden camera? Seriously?" she said, her tone dropping into a disgusted growl. "You're telling me some creep was spying on us?" she growled, her fiery red eyes blazing.

"Looks like it," Felix said casually, spinning the camera between his fingers before crushing it in his hand with a sharp crack. He dropped the shattered pieces into the trash, dusting his palms together. "Welcome to the wonderful world of shitty motels."

Loona glanced uneasily around, clearly repulsed. "Gross. And here I thought this place couldn't get any worse."

"Yeah, well, at least now you won't have to worry about ending up on some sleazy livestream," Felix said with a shrug. "You're welcome, by the way."

Loona huffed, crossing her arms. "Don't think this makes you any less of a jackass."

"Wouldn't dream of it," Felix replied, smirking. "But hey, if you're feeling grateful, you can take the floor."

"Keep dreaming," Loona sneered, grabbing the extra pillow from the bed and throwing it at Felix

Felix caught the pillow with ease, grabbing a thin blanket before settling himself on the floor

Loona didn't waste a second claiming the bed, flopping onto it with a satisfied sigh. She stretched out, letting the springs creak under her weight. Loona glanced over the edge of the bed, her fiery red eyes narrowing. "You're really taking the floor?" she asked, her voice muffled by the pillow she was half-smothered under.

"Not much choice," Felix replied, his voice surprisingly casual. He was busy spreading the thin blanket across the floor before sitting down on it. "Besides, I've slept in worse places." He leaned back against the pillow, arms behind his head as he stared up at the ceiling, his sharp yellow eyes reflecting the dim light from the lamps.

Loona snorted, her lips curling into a smirk as she half-turned to face him. "I'm sure you have. Doesn't make you any less of a masochist, though."

Felix chuckled softly, his gaze flicking to her with a raised eyebrow. "What can I say? I'm just used to roughing it."

"Yeah, well, I'm not gonna feel sorry for you," Loona said, tossing the pillow aside and pulling the blanket up to her chin. "So don't start whining if you get cold."

"Aww, worried about me, are you?" Felix teased, his smirk widening as he crossed his arms behind his head, still lounging comfortably on the floor.

Loona huffed, rolling her eyes as she snuggled deeper into the bed. "Not even a little," she retorted, tugging the blanket tighter around herself. "I just don't want you making a scene when you freeze your ass off."

Felix chuckled, settling more comfortably on the floor as he stretched out, his sharp yellow eyes glinting in the dim light. "I'll manage," he said, his tone casual as he lets out a yawn.

Felix's voice broke the silence a few moments later. "So, what's your deal anyway?" he asked, his tone curious, though it lacked the usual sarcasm. "No offense, but you don't exactly seem like the type who'd spend their time behind a desk."

Loona shifted her position, clearly uncomfortable with the turn the conversation was taking. She clenched her jaw, her gaze hardening as she glared at the wall. "None of your business," she muttered again, though her voice had lost a little of its usual edge.

"Alright, was just curious why you didn't join the imps during their hit on me," Felix pressed, his voice tinged with genuine curiosity. "But hey, I'm not trying to pry into your life. Talk about it or keep it to yourself, doesn't matter but we're both here, stuck in the middle of nowhere with a shady motel clerk watching us on hidden cameras. Just seems like a good chance to vent.

Loona didn't say anything at first, her eyes narrowing as she fiddled with the blanket in her lap. The silence stretched on, thick and uncomfortable, but eventually she spoke, her voice quieter than before.

"Cause my Da—Blitzø doesn't let me go on jobs," Loona muttered, surprising Felix as he sat up, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.

Felix's eyes widened slightly, his smirk fading as he sat up, genuinely surprised. "Wait, seriously?" he asked, his voice a little more serious than before. "The imp doesn't let you go on jobs? Why the hell not?"

Loona shot him a sharp, wary look, her eyes flashing with irritation. "Because he thinks it's too dangerous. Says I'm better off handling other shit," she muttered, her gaze drifting away from him as she fidgeted with the corner of the blanket.

Felix leaned forward slightly, his curiosity piqued. "That's... kind of surprising. I figured having a hellhound would make you an obvious choice for the muscle."

Loona let out a bitter chuckle, though there was little humor in it. "Yeah, well, doesn't matter what you or I think," she said, her voice flat. "It's his business, his rules. And since I'm not in charge, I don't get to call the shots." She sighed, glancing away. "I'm just his... daughter."

"Daughter?!" Felix blinked in surprise, his mind clearly struggling to process that information. "Wait, hold up. An imp and a hellhound? That... doesn't really add up, does it?"

Loona's gaze hardened slightly, but there was no anger, just a sort of resigned bitterness. "Adopted. Blitzø picked me up at the orphanage when I was nearly 18... I've been stuck with him since." She shrugged, the motion half-hearted. "Doesn't matter much now. I'm not exactly his 'real' daughter, just the one he found and decided to keep."

The room fell into a rare silence, the faint hum of the neon sign outside seeping through the thin walls. Loona stared at the cracked ceiling, "What about you?" she said after a long pause, her tone quieter than before.

"Hmm?" came his muffled response from below.

"Must've had a pretty messed-up family to turn out the way you did," Loona said, her voice dripping with her usual sarcasm, though there was a trace of genuine curiosity underneath.

"Nope." Felix's response came quicker than expected, catching her off guard. "I grew up in a nice little suburban family. Older sister who got on my nerves, a mum who ran her own business, and a dad that brought in the big money." He spoke casually, like he was reciting a rehearsed line.

Loona blinked, tilting her head slightly to glance down at him. "Seriously?" she asked, skepticism evident in her voice. "You? Suburban dream kid? A cozy little family and somehow you end up being... you? Doesn't really fit."

Felix smirked, but it didn't quite reach his sharp yellow eyes. "Guess I just like to keep people guessing," he said, brushing off her comment with a shrug. "But yeah, it was the kind of family that makes you pose for cheesy Christmas cards every year."

Loona raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. "And yet, here you are. Sleeping on the floor of a shitty motel room."

He chuckled, the sound dry and humourless. "Yeah, well... things change."

Loona tilted her head, curiosity flickering in her expression. "So, what? You just... walked away?"

Felix let out a dry laugh. "Something like that. Didn't think being a serial killer would really vibe with the whole suburban family aesthetic, you know?"

Loona studied him for a moment, her fiery red eyes narrowing. "You don't miss them?"

Felix's grin faltered for the briefest second before he shook his head. "Nah. They're better off without me, and I'm better off without them. Sometimes, cutting ties is the cleanest way to move forward."

Loona looked away thoughtfully, tucking the blanket closer around her. "Yeah, well, whatever," she muttered, her tone almost dismissive. "It's not like I care what you do."

Felix chuckled, a mischievous grin tugging at his lips. "Could've fooled me," he teased, making Loona let out a soft growl of annoyance.

"Just go the fuck to sleep," Loona snapped, pulling the blanket tighter and sinking further into the bed.

Felix chuckled quietly, turning onto his side to face the wall. "Sweet dreams, Pup," he said softly, almost too low for her to hear.

A pillow flew from the bed, hitting him square in the back of the head. Loona's muffled voice followed. "I said stop calling me that."

Felix couldn't help but laugh as he tossed the pillow back onto the bed. "Night, Loona."

The light clicked off, and the room settled into silence. Both of them settled into an uneasy sleep, unaware that a faint hissing sound began to leak from the vents as odorless gas began to seep into the room, and the front door creaked open from the outside, unlatched with a quiet click.

Sometime in the night, Loona stirred awake with a faint headache, the strange sensation dragging her from sleep. Her eyes fluttered open as she slowly took in her surroundings, her breath catching in confusion. This was no longer the shitty motel room, but a small, sterile-looking cell with cold, concrete walls and iron bars. She sat up quickly, a sharp pain in her head making her wince.

"What the fuck?" Loona hissed under her breath. She blinked rapidly, her eyes finally landing on Felix, peacefully sleeping beside her, completely unaware of their sudden change in location. "Felix! Wake up, dumbass!" She growled, her voice low and urgent as she kicked him awake, the sharp jolt of her foot making him stir.

Felix groggily blinked, slowly coming to his senses as he rubbed his face. "Huh? What the hell...?" He froze when he saw the bars and the unfamiliar, bleak surroundings. "What the fuck is this?"

"I don't know, but we need to get out of here. Now." Loona panic, kicked the bars of the cell, making a loud noise as she rattled the bars.

Felix's eyes darted around, trying to make sense of their new situation. "Shit," he muttered, pushing himself off the ground. "Did we get drugged?" His eyes narrowed, searching for any signs of how they had ended up in this situation.

Loona gritted her teeth, trying to remain calm. "Well, we're not in a motel anymore. So, start thinking, genius. How do we get out of here?"

"Do you still have the book?" Felix asked, his eyes scanning the cell as he paced back and forth.

"Does it look like I have the book on me?" Loona snapped angrily, gesturing to herself as she gave him a withering look. She tugged at the bars again in frustration, her breath coming in sharp huffs. "What the hell is going on?"

"Hey! Keep it down!" a voice barked from down the dimly lit corridor. Both Loona and Felix froze, their attention snapping toward the source of the sound, their eyes narrowing as the motel clerk emerged from a side room. The faint glow of monitors behind him illuminated his greasy face and gave an ominous edge to his smirk. He closed the door behind him, muttering something under his breath as he strode toward their cell.

"You're the guy from the front desk," Loona growled, her fiery red eyes narrowing. "What the fuck is this? Where are we?"

The clerk leaned casually against the wall, clearly unbothered by her anger. "Well, well, you're awake sooner than I expected," he sneered, eyeing them with a glint of cruel amusement. "Welcome to my little operation."

"Operation?" Felix repeated, his voice dripping with disdain. He took a step toward the bars, his sharp yellow eyes practically glowing. "Let me guess: you gas your guests and then sell them off to the highest bidder?"

"Something like that," the clerk replied smugly, adjusting the waistband of his stained jeans. His eyes darted over Felix before settling on Loona. "Got to say, didn't think I'd land a prize like you, sweetheart." His gaze lingered on her, the kind of leer that made her skin crawl. "I bet I can fetch a damn good price for a pretty thing like you."

Loona's fiery temper flared as she slammed her hands against the bars, startling the clerk enough to make him flinch. "Touch me, and I'll rip your throat out!" she snarled, her voice low and dangerous, her human disguise doing little to hide the feral snarl that escaped her throat.

The clerk raised his hands mockingly, clearly enjoying her reaction. "Shit, crazy bitch. I like that. But you're not exactly in a position to make threats, now, are you?" He chuckled, motioning to their surroundings.

"You're gonna regret this, asshole." Loona growled, her hands gripping the bars so tightly the metal groaned under the pressure.

The clerk laughed, seemingly unfazed. "Oh, I doubt that. You're locked up nice and tight, and I've got a buyer lined up already. So just sit tight."

Felix, who had been eerily quiet, stepped closer to the bars, his yellow eyes narrowing dangerously. "Buddy," he said, his voice cool but laced with malice, "you've got about five seconds to open this door before things get ugly."

The clerk raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Tough talk from a guy locked in a cage." He smirked, crossing his arms. "Now, you just sit tight while I make the arrangements. The girl will be gone before morning, and as for you...Well, I'll figure something out." He shrugged, turning and disappearing back into the side room, the door shutting behind him with a metallic clang.

Loona slammed her fist against the bars, her frustration boiling over. "Son of a bitch!"

"Oh, he's gonna regret this," Felix said, his voice dripping with anticipation. Felix glanced at Loona, who was still trembling with rage.

"First, we need a way out of this damn cell," Loona muttered, pacing in the confined space, her eyes narrowing as she shot a glance at Felix. "Got any brilliant ideas, genius?"

Felix leaned lazily against the wall, his yellow eyes gleaming with a dangerous glint. "Well, since charming our way out isn't exactly your style, we fake a fight. Loud enough to get that slimeball's attention."

Loona crossed her arms, giving him a withering look. "And what exactly is the plan after that, genius?"

Felix's smirk widened. "When he comes in to break it up, we take him out. Simple."

"That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard," Loona muttered, rolling her eyes.

"Trust me, Pup, it'll work." Felix quipped with a shrug, his confidence unwavering.

Loona's ears twitched, and she growled low in her throat. "Call me 'Pup' again, and I'll make this real," she growled, her patience wearing thin.

Ignoring her, Felix cracked his knuckles and adopted a cocky sneer. Loona sighed, preparing to play along, then without warning, shoved him hard against the bars. "This is all your fault!" she yelled, her voice echoing through the hall, the walls amplifying her fury.

From the other side, the clerk's annoyed muffled voice echoed from down the hall. "Hey! Keep it down in there!"

Ignoring him, Loona lunged at Felix, grabbing the front of his shirt with a snarl. "You think you're so clever, huh? Always running your mouth. Well, look where it's got us!"

Felix bared his teeth, leaning in with mock aggression. "Maybe if you weren't such a pain in my ass, we wouldn't even be here!" he shot back, his voice a growl as he shoved her hands off him.

"Oh, I'm the problem?" Loona barked, her crimson eyes narrowing as she stepped closer. "You're the one who thought it'd be a great idea to stop at this shitty motel!" She punctuated her words by jabbing a finger into his chest, each poke harder than the last.

Felix slapped her hand away, his mock irritation cranking up a notch. "Yeah, because I totally planned on getting locked up by some discount desk jockey!" He spread his arms wide in exaggerated exasperation. "Maybe next time, I'll just let you pick the place. Oh, wait—you'd probably lead us straight to a dump filled with fleas!"

Loona snarled, grabbing his collar again and yanking him forward until their noses almost touched. "Better than this! At least a flea-infested dump wouldn't have some sleazebag trying to sell us off!"

The clerk's voice echoed down the hallway once more, sharp with irritation. "I said keep it down! If you don't shut up, I'm coming in there myself!"

Felix and Loona froze for a split second, their faces inches apart, eyes locking for a brief moment. Mischief sparkled in their gazes, a silent understanding passing between them.

Without waiting for a response, Loona swung her fist toward Felix's chest which he caught mid-swing. His grin faded into something more serious as he leaned in. "Don't hold back, or he's gonna get suspicious."

Loona's grin returned, her eyes flickering with dark amusement. "Fine by me," she muttered, her voice now laced with a darker edge as she twisted her arm out of his grip. With a swift motion, she shoved him back against the bars, making the clang of metal reverberate down the hallway.

Loona's grin widened, her eyes narrowing with a sharp glint. "You've got a death wish, don't you?" she growled, leaning in closer until their faces were mere inches apart. Her voice dripped with sarcasm as she added, "Lucky for you, I'm in a decent mood. But keep running your mouth, and I'll show you exactly what I'm capable of."

Felix smirked, unbothered by the rough treatment. "Whatever you say, Daddy's little princess," he taunted, his voice mocking , throwing a playful swing, which Loona ducked with ease. "You're all bark and no bite, why else would you put up with such a deadbeat dad."

Loona froze, her fiery red eyes narrowing dangerously. "What. Did. You. Just. Say?"

Felix's grin widened, clearly enjoying her reaction. "You heard me. Always defending him like some loyal mutt."

Without warning, she swung at him, her punch landing square on his jaw, her punch anything but fake. It cracked against Felix's jaw, sending him stumbling back into the bars with a loud clang. "Damn it, Loona! That was real!" he hissed, rubbing his jaw as he shot her a glare.

"Shut up!" Loona snapped, her voice trembling with barely restrained fury. "What the hell do you know?! Blitzø might be a piece of shit, but he's all I've got! At least he didn't run out on his family like you did!"

Felix's smirk dropped, and his glowing eyes narrowed. "Loona! Would you just—" But before he could finish, Loona's fist connected with his nose. "Ah! Fuck!" he cursed, clutching his face, blood beginning to drip from his nose.

The commotion was enough to draw the clerk to the cell door. "Alright, knock it off, you two!" he barked, fumbling with a ring of keys, his taser in hand. "You're both gonna fetch me a fortune, so I don't need you killing each other before I cash in."

Felix and Loona exchanged a quick glance, silently agreeing to keep up the act. Felix shoved Loona against the bars, and she retaliated by grabbing him by the collar, slamming him into the opposite wall.

The clerk, hearing the crash, quickly unlocked the door. "I said knock it off—"

As the door swung open, Loona and Felix moved in unison. Their human disguises shimmered and fell away, revealing their true forms

Loona's hellhound frame towered over the clerk, her claws glinting menacingly as she stepped forward, her fangs bared in a snarl. Felix's human guise melted away, replaced by his towering lycanthropic frame, his glowing yellow eyes locking onto the clerk like a predator sizing up prey.

The clerk froze, his smug expression instantly replaced with terror as his gaze widened. "W-what the—"

"Big mistake," Felix growled, his voice low and menacing, his claws flexing.

Loona stepped forward, her lips curling back to reveal her sharp fangs. "Huge," she snarled, her voice dripping with malice. She stepped forward, blocking the doorway with her massive frame.

The clerk stumbled back, his keys clattering to the floor as he realized just how badly he had underestimated them. The moment of realization was all the time Felix and Loona needed to pounce, the clerk letting out a painfilled cry as the sound of him being viciously mauled is heard from the cell.

Later, Felix and Loona were back in the motel room, still in their demonic forms. The remnants of their violent confrontation had left their bodies streaked with blood, but neither seemed fazed by it. Loona stepped out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, her damp hair clinging to her shoulders.

She glanced over at Felix, who was on the bed, covered in the clerk's blood, making his form more imposing and menacing as he hunched over a laptop. His glowing yellow eyes flickered with intensity as his claws tapped rapidly across the keys, scanning through the files on the clerk's hard drive.

Loona raised an eyebrow as she leaned against the doorframe, crossing her arms. "You done yet?" she asked, her voice still tinged with annoyance from their earlier fight with Felix.

Felix didn't look up from the screen, his focus entirely on the files he was pulling up. "Almost. This guy's been trafficking people for years, always working with some shady buyers, but it looks like there's a bigger operation behind it all."

Loona raised an eyebrow, stepping closer as she dried her hair with the towel. "Yeah? Let me guess, you're gonna track down every shady deal this guy's made?"

Felix let out a low chuckle, his yellow eyes gleaming. "Not this time, I'm sending this to the cops to deal with." He paused for a moment, his eyes scanning the screen quickly as he clicked through several folders, coming across a familiar username, 'StealYoGirlz.' "You've got to be kidding me."

"What'd you find?" Loona asked, her voice low as she leaned over his shoulder.

Felix scoffed, his claws tapping furiously as he pulled up a photo of his target—a large, overweight man with a face that resembled a pig. "The guy I'm after, Mike Hawk. Dumbass didn't even bother deleting his account."

Loona snickered. "You're telling me Porky here is the guy who's been giving you so much trouble?" She grinned, clearly enjoying the irony.

"Yeah, well, I plan to make sure he pays back full for wasting my time." Felix grinned wickedly, finally looking up from the screen. His eyes widened slightly as he noticed Loona was still in nothing but a towel, and he quickly averted his gaze. The shift in his behaviour didn't go unnoticed by Loona, who smirked and leaned back slightly, her eyes gleaming with amusement.

She sat down on the edge of the bed, scrolling through her phone, clearly enjoying the subtle tension in the air. The room was thick with unspoken words, the only sound the faint tapping of Felix's claws against the laptop keys.

Felix glanced at her again, his expression unreadable, before clearing his throat awkwardly. "Hey, uh... about what I said before... sorry. I didn't think it would set you off."

Loona's ears flattened, her usual sharpness dulled for a moment as she looked up from her phone. A slight frown crossed her face, but it was gone as quickly as it appeared. "Yeah, same." She shifted slightly, lowering her phone and meeting his gaze for a brief moment before looking away.

After a moment, Loona glanced up, her crimson eyes narrowing slightly as curiosity got the better of her. "Hey," she started, her voice cutting through the silence. "Why did you leave your family?"

Felix froze, his fingers hovering over the laptop keyboard. The question hit like a sucker punch, and for a moment, he didn't respond. His glowing yellow eyes flicked toward Loona, his usual cocky demeanour replaced by something more guarded. "That's a hell of a question," he muttered, his tone weary but not hostile.

Loona shrugged, still clutching the towel around her. "You brought it up earlier," she said, her voice even but probing. "If you didn't want me to ask, you shouldn't have run your mouth."

Felix let out a low growl, more at himself than at her. "That's fair, but why the sudden interest?"

"I just… I don't know. I guess for someone who grew up in the system, it's kinda hard to imagine someone running away from all that." Loona hesitated, her voice softening as her eyes darted away briefly. "Something so perfect."

"I never said it was perfect." Felix's tone turned sharp, his face darkening slightly. "I had a sister who did whatever she wanted when she wanted, a mom who would

throw a tantrum

after her morning glass of wine, and as for my dad…." He trailed off, his expression hardening. "Let's say he got a new full-time job pushing up daisies."

"Pushing up daisies?" Loona frowned, tilting her head in confusion. "What kinda fucked-up job is—oh." Her ears flattened as realization hit.

"Yeah, the pay's not great, as you can imagine." Felix said dryly, letting out a bitter chuckle, trying to lighten the mood, though the attempt felt hollow. Loona stayed silent, unsure of how to respond.

"Is… that what changed?" she finally asked, her voice hesitant.

"Kinda, yeah." Felix leaned back on his hands, his claws idly tapping the bed. "But I'd say it was more me that changed. Spent years trying to keep the peace between my mom and sis when they were at each other's throats, but eventually…" He paused, his glowing yellow eyes catching his own demonic reflection on the darkened laptop screen. With a frustrated sigh, he closed the lid and tossed it onto the bedside table. "I just stopped caring."

"So you just cut ties with them?" Loona pressed, her tone carefully neutral, though her crimson eyes betrayed a flicker of curiosity.

Felix shook his head, a faint, almost bitter smile tugging at his lips. "Don't get me wrong, I'm still in touch with my sis. She's the only one who actually gave a damn after she got her shit together, she's got her own life now, a wife, kids, the whole picture-perfect setup. Was actually meant to visit them for Christmas Eve, but your dad and his coworkers had other plans." He gave her a pointed look, though it lacked any real malice.

Loona scoffed, a small smirk breaking through. "Yeah, Blitzø has a habit of making a mess of things." Her smile softened as she leaned back, "But at least he cares, in his weird, fucked-up kinda way. He treats me like his blood, and that's more than anyone's ever given me."

Felix studied her for a moment, his usual cocky smirk replaced by something softer. "That's something, at least. Having someone who gives a damn, even if they're a disaster." He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, his claws hanging loosely between them. "Guess even a chaotic mess like him can get his priorities straight."

Loona shrugged, pulling her towel tighter around her. "Guess so. But it doesn't make him any less of a pain in my ass." Despite her words, there was a faint warmth in her voice. She glanced at Felix, her expression thoughtful. "Not that I'm saying you should try and patch things up with your mom or anything, but... maybe your sister deserves more of you. Sounds like she might still care."

Felix let out a dry, sarcastic laugh, gesturing to his imposing demonic form with a clawed hand. "Yeah, because showing up looking like this wouldn't be a total nightmare. 'Hey, sis, remember your brother? Well, he's dead, and surprise—he's a demon now!' That'd go over great."

"She doesn't need to know that." Loona rolled her eyes, pushing off the bed. She entered the bathroom, tossing her towel aside to grab a change of clothes. "You've got a human disguise, don't you? Use it."

"And what?" Felix smirked faintly, leaning back on his hands. "Just keep sneaking into the human world? Just keep borrowing your dad's magic book? Somehow, I doubt he'll let me swipe it a second time."

Loona reappeared in the doorway, now dressed in a her usual tank top and shorts, her tail flicking lazily behind her. "Maybe not, but I'm sure you can come up with something. You're good at thinking up bullshit."

Felix chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Well, you've got me there."

"Of course I do." Loona smirked, her sharp teeth flashing briefly before she stepped closer and unceremoniously shoved Felix off the bed.

"Hey!" Felix yelped as he hit the floor with a thud, glaring up at her.

"Now go the fuck to sleep," Loona said as she sprawled out across the now-vacant bed, making herself comfortable. She stretched out leisurely, tail flicking smugly behind her. "I'm fucking tired."

Felix grumbled, rubbing the back of his head but didn't argue further, grabbing a spare blanket from the chair and tossing it over himself as he settled onto the floor. "Night, pup," he muttered sarcastically, earning a quiet snarl from Loona, her tail swished lazily as she settled in, not even sparing him a glance.

Felix smirked faintly to himself, leaning back to rest his head on the pillow as he stared up at the cracked ceiling. The room fell quiet except for the faint sound of Loona's steady breathing as she settled in. His smirk faltered, though, as his gaze shifted toward the magic book lying on the table nearby. His expression darkened, thoughts swirling in his head.

The following day, Felix sat on the hood of his car, his human disguise now fully in place. He stared down at the pavement, his expression dark and unreadable. He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn't even notice Loona approaching at first.

"So, where are we headed?" Loona's voice broke through his focus as she approached, also in her human form, a playful smirk curling on her lips.

Felix snapped back to attention, his eyes narrowing slightly as he pushed off the hood of the car. "My contact got back. Hawk isn't far. If we use the book, we can get there no problem and get this over with."

Loona raised an eyebrow with a bored look, tossing him the magic book. Felix caught the book easily, his fingers brushing the cover before he flipped it open. His eyes scanned the pages quickly as a large portal formed in front of them, large enough for the car to drive through.

"Here goes nothing," Felix muttered as he and Loona slid into the car, Felix revving the engine before driving through the shimmering portal without hesitation.

When they emerged on the other side, the car slid smoothly onto the asphalt as they found themselves in front of a sleek, several-story office building that utterly out of place in the rundown district they'd just come from.

Felix threw the car into park, killing the engine with his gaze fixed on the building's entrance. Felix gave a small, grim smile, his eyes darkening with determination. "Let's get this over with."

Authors Note:

As you can tell this story is a OcxLoona fic (over done I know) but I'm planning to write and post What If stories with oc with different pairings such as Verosika, Emily, and Carmilla...maybe Bee. So if there's any scenes you'd like to see (SFW) or any pairings I could really use the ideas. They won't be as long as Hell-bent but they will be a decent size.

Another thing is that I'm planning to turn off DMs as I keep getting messages from Bots as well as people asking for NSFW related stories which I'm not planning to do. So I'm sorry for those who have messaged me and haven't received a response it's just that my inbox is so full of spam that everything is a mess.

If you are wanting to message me or talk about one of my stories please use the review section as that can be easily sorted. It's also good motivation for me when I get comments about people liking the story.

As for those who are offering Commission artwork, i really appreciate the offer, i really do, but I have to unfortunately decline the offers. But for those who want to do fanart you are more than welcomed too.

(If you happen to read something about loona having a tail in her human guise please let me know, I kept getting confused)

So... I take it this will be an OC x Loona pairing? Because I'm down for that. Thought it was gonna be an OC x Carmilla story for a second there, but either one is fine with me, although since the OC is a Hellhound it's most likely he'll end up with Loona.

Also, nice way of sorting out the timeline.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

- Yes, this story is gonna be OcxLoona fic if it wasn't obvious from current chapter but I am planning to write What If stories in the future with different pairings. Currently have Verosika, Emily, and yes Carmilla planned, you have anything you're wanting to see happen with the pairings let me know
