It was now Nightfall. and Marceline was sitting on a chair, watching Aiden sleep on a bed.
He had been asleep for nearly 5 hours, and Marceline had been watching him through most of it.

Cogswell then floated into the room. (("Good Evening, Miss Marceline. Shouldn't you get some sleep?"))

"not tired." spoke Marceline. "I don't need to sleep as much as most people do."

(("You're worried about Master Aiden, aren't you?"))

Marceline looked at Cogswell... and then back to Aiden.

"I've only known Aiden for a day... and in that time, he's nearly died THREE TIMES.
I can't help but worry about him. Like if I look away for just a second, something else might happen to him!"

(("yes... I know. Master Aiden is inexperienced and unready for the horrors of this world.
So I am glad that he has you to look after him, Miss Marceline. I am certain that Miss Eileen would approve."))

Marceline leaned over, and brushed some hair from Aiden's face.

She then leaned in closer, her forehead touching his own.

~i promise... i won't let anything bad happen to you.~ whispered Marceline.

Aiden started to stir, which prompted Marceline to pull back.
The human groaned as he started to rise up and grasped his forehead.

"Aiden..." spoke Marceline. "How are you feeling?"

"like someone used my head for a bongo drum." answered Aiden.

(("That would be another unfortunate side effect of the RadAway, sir.")) spoke Cogswell.

(("So apart from some other vital essentials, I have taken the liberty
of packing for you some Rad-X to avoid something like this happening again."))

Aiden smiled weakly. "th-thanks, Cogswell..."

(("I live to serve, Sir."))

Marceline stared at both Aiden, and Cogswell. "Rad...X?"

"It's a special medication that provided temporary radiation resistance." explained Aiden.
"though, it has it's limits and can be useless if radiation levels are too high."

Marceline looked relieved to hear this. "Good. I don't want you getting sick again."

Aiden looked out the glassless window, and noted that it was now Night.
Not only that, but the sky was clear. Showing of hundreds of stars and a bright full moon.

"We should get going." spoke Aiden, as he began to get up.

(("Wouldn't it be wiser to get a full night's sleep and wait until Morning, sir?")) spoke Cogswell.

"No, we need to go BEFORE that. Marcy can't be exposed to direct sunlight." explained Aiden.
"Hopefully it'll be cloudy again tomorrow, but in case it isn't we need to go NOW."

Marceline frowned, feeling bad that Aiden was being forced to skip bedrest for HER benefit.

(("I see. Well, best of luck to you Sir. And, you as well Miss Marceline.")) spoke Cogswell.

Aiden stood up, approached Cogswell and did his best to hug the robot.

"I'll miss you, Cogswell. you may have been a robot, but I always thought of you as family."

(("oh my... Thank You, Sir. If I were capable of crying...")) spoke Cogswell, his emotion circuits surging.

Marceline then approached. "Why don't you come with us, Rusty?"

(("Oh, if only I could. But I am afraid I can't travel that far in the state I am in.
But I do recall passing by a General Atomics Factory once. I could get the replacement parts that I need from there."))

"Do you want us to get them for you?" asked Aiden.

(("That won't be necessary sir. I can manage that myself. You should focus on reaching Stadia City."))

Aiden shrugged. "okay. But, if we come across this factory on the way, we'll try and gather what we can."

(("I very much appreciate that sir. And once I am properly repaired, I will visit Stadia City to check on you."))

"That would be great." said Aiden, smiling.

As Aiden started to leave the room, Marceline grabbed his shoulder.

"Aiden. are you SURE you are well enough for this? We can wait if you need more rest."

"I'll be okay, Marcy." said Aiden (as he rubbed his temple.)

"There is a Red Rocket Gas Station just a short walk from here. If need be, we can take shelter there before moving on."

Marceline looked unsure. but shrugged. "okay... But if you feel lightheaded, let me know."

Aiden smiled as he blushed a little.

(("Ah, young love...")) said Cogswell (which immediately embarrassed both Aiden, and Marceline.)

"WHAT!?, NO!/WE'RE NOT-!"

(("I'll just give you two some privacy.")) with that, Cogswell left.

Marceline and Aiden were now both flustered, and blushing wildly.

"we should go./Yeah. Agreed."

[Later]

Aiden stepped outside with Marceline floating near him.

Once again, Aiden looked up at the sky and stared at the many stars that shone like diamonds.
He had never seen the sky so clear before, not even during his childhood long before the bombs dropped.

The night made the air feel much cooler, a gentle breeze blowing that felt oddly soothing.
Marceline kept her eyes faced forward, her nocturnal vision searching for any threat.

So far, she saw nothing.

The pair soon reached the large, wooden bridge that ran over the flowing river.
The bridge was a bit damaged, with a chunk of it broken. But otherwise still held up.

Aiden paused. Turning back to take one last look at what remained of Paradise Hills.
Memories of his old life and everyone he knew in that neighborhood flooded in his mind all at once.

He then exhaled, and turned away. Literally putting his past behind him.

"Aiden..." spoke Marceline, noting his hesitation.

"i'm fine." answered Aiden. "It's... like you said. 'The Journey of 1,000 miles... begins with the first step."

Having said that, Aiden took one foot forward and stepped onto the bridge.
The wood creaked, but otherwise held up. Marceline floated close, ready to catch Aiden if he fell.

Thankfully the bridge held, and the pair crossed the river and at last left Paradise Hills.
The rest of the Wasteland now lay before them, which at the moment was a derelict road.

Aiden continued walking, doing his best to remember the way based on memory.
Despite the obvious change, some things still felt familiar. Almost like a Phantom of what it should be.

Within minutes, the pair passed by the husks of vehicles that sat abandoned.
The EMP from the bombs had long since rendered them useless for transportation.

It wasn't long until they saw a 'Red Rocket' come into view.
As they drew closer, Marceline found it was indeed an old gas station just as Aiden said.

The structure was more-or-less intact, with only the most minor of damage.

"Wow, you were right. It really was a short walk here." said Marceline.

"amazing..." spoke Aiden. "I expected the worst, but the old station looks-"

((*WOOF!*))

The pair looked and saw an oddly healthy looking dog sprint up to them.
The dog had a friendly demeanor, tilting it's head and wagging it's long, fluffy tail.

"hey there..." spoke Aiden, approaching the animal. "you live here, buddy?"

The dog responded with a short Woof. It then sat down, allowing Aiden to pet it's head.

Marceline was wary, but as the dog didn't show any signs of being aggressive, decided to relax.
She also approached, and reached out her hand carefully. The dog responded by giving her hand a lick.

The vampire then smiled. "looks like we made a new friend."

Aiden smiled, though sadness was present in his eyes.

This dog made him remember Scruffy, his pet from before the war that ended everything.
He never got the chance to say goodbye to his beloved pet (who had no doubt died, even if he had survived the bombs.)

The dog noted Aiden's sadness, and walked up to give his face a gentle lick.
Aiden shed a tear, but still smiled as he stroked the dog's furry neck.

"good boy." spoke Aiden.

The dog made a happy noise, before running off towards the gas station.
Aiden and Marceline then followed the dog, and entered the station.

Inside, they found what remained of a convenience store. It had been looted aged ago, and was now quite empty.

The pair (plus one) approached and entered a door meant for staff.

There they found a small nexus with a door leading into a garage where broken down vehicles would be fixed,
and another door that led to an office where there was only an old computer and filing cabinets.

"Nice place." spoke Marceline. "Guess we can make a Pitstop here."

This minor joke from Marceline made Aiden let out a chuckle.

(*BARK-BARK!*)

"Hey, what's up with Dogmeat?"

Aiden eyed Marceline. "Dogmeat?!"

"Gotta call him something."

"yeah, but DOGMEAT?!"

"It was the first thing that came to my mind!" exclaimed Marceline.

"yeeah... we'll workshop on that." said Aiden.

Aiden then looked back to 'Dogmeat', and noted that he was scratching at the floor.

"I think, ehh... 'Dogmeat' found something."

Marceline flew over to where Dogmeat was scratching at, and knelt down to examine it.

"hey... I think there's something hidden here."

Marceline took her Axe-Bass, and wedged the blade into a crack in the floor.
With a snap, a hidden trapdoor suddenly flipped open, revealing a ladder down a deep hole.

"Heeey... there's a hideaway hidden here." said Marceline, who dropped down the hole.

"Marcy?!" Aiden climbed down the ladder after Marceline.

Once down, Aiden and Marceline found themselves in an underground cellar turned into a bomb shelter.

Obviously, it was nothing like Vault 110. the room was square shaped and medium sized.
The walls were raw ground held up with 2x4 boards, with wires tacked to the ceiling.

There was a single mattress, a hanging lightbulb and shelves of various supplies.
It basically looked like a typical basement that one would use to take shelter during severe weather.

"Looks like someone built themselves a shelter here." said Marceline, impressed.

"Doesn't look like whoever built it ever got to use it, though." added Aiden.

Marceline shrugged. "Well, looks like we're using it now."

Aiden exhaled as he sat down on the cot.

"you rest here for a moment. I'm going back up top to scope the place out." said Marceline.

"alright. Let me know if you need help with anything." said Aiden.

Marceline grinned. "I'm sure I'll manage, but... Sure."

Marceline then flew back up the ladder, leaving Aiden alone with Dogmeat.

The Dog tilted his head as he looked up at him with inquisitive eyes.
Aiden looked down at the dog, and gave him a little pat.

"I had a dog like you once... a long, LONG time ago." began Aiden, his tone melancholy.

"I will miss him... Forever. just like everyone else that I lost.
But... I can't be weighed down by the past. It will be hard, but I need to move on."

Dogmeat tilted it's head again, making a puzzled sound.

"maybe... you can help me move on. Just like Marcy is." continued Aiden.

Aiden then paused as he looked in the direction of the trapdoor leading out.
He then lowered down to Dogmeat's level, and leaned in to whisper something in his ear.

*don't tell her this. but I think I might... 'like' her.* whispered Aiden

(*Rrr?*)

*I mean, I ALREADY like her. but I guess what I really mean is... I might have a crush on her.*

Dogmeat responded with a tail wag.

*I know I've only known her for a day at most. but... I can't help but have 'feelings' for her.
she's so beautiful, and she's done so much for me. How could I not 'feel' for her?*

Aiden then exhaled sharply. *but I am way out of her league. a woman deserved far better than me.

I can't even take two steps without something happening to me that Marcy has to save me from!
god, she must think I'm such a pathetic weakling. Like a tray gust of wind will just blow me over...*

Dogmeat made a sad sound. Aiden then lean back, staring at the earthy ceiling.

*I like Marceline... but she can't ever know that.* continued Aiden.
*if she ever finds out how I feel... she may be disgusted, and not want to be around me anymore.*

Dogmeat made a soft whine as he licked Aiden's hand. Aiden looked at the dog, forced a smile and hugged the animal.

[Meanwhile.]

Marceline was currently in the garage of the Red Rocket Station,
quickly examining all that was there, and decided what could be salvaged.

Thankfully there were no useless vehicle inside taking up space,
so she had plenty of room to work with anything she needed her.

She saw some workshops present that appeared to still be in working order.

While not as Princess Bubblegum's personal laboratory in the Candy Kingdom,
Marceline figured she could probably make something useful if she had the proper materials.

She may not be a scientist, but Marceline wasn't a total 'cavewoman' with technology.

"I should show this to Aiden. He might really like thi-"

Just then, Marceline heard what sounded like music.

While there was a radio in the garage, it wasn't turned on right now.
In fact, the music sounded muffled... Like it was coming from another room.

Marceline momentarily left the garage to inspect where the music was coming from.

..and sure enough, she found that it was coming from the cellar where Aiden was.

Curious, Marceline took a peek down and saw Aiden was strumming his Keytar.
He created a melody that she had never heard before, and had a nice beat to it.

After a minute passed, Aiden began to sing in a low, weary sounding voice.

"Take me down to the river bend. Take me down to the fighting end.
Wash the poison from off my skin. Show me how to be whole again.

Fly me up on a silver wing. Past the black where the sirens sing.
Warm me up in a nova's glow, And drop me down to the dream below.

'Cause I'm only a crack, In this castle of glass.

Hardly anything there, For you to see...

...For you to see."

Marceline stared blankly, almost entranced as Aiden's singing and music.
She then made herself invisible and floated down into the bunker, making sure to keep silent.

"Bring me home in a blinding dream, Through the secrets that I have seen.
Wash the sorrow from off my skin. And show me how to be whole again.

'Cause I'm only a crack, In this castle of glass.

Hardly anything there For you to seeeee... For you to see."

Aiden shut his eyes as he strummed the chords of his Keytar,
as well as tapping the keys on the side. creating a powerful sound.

some tears streamed down his cheek as memories flashed in his mind.
Most of his old life, before they eventually accumulated into his recent memories...

...of Marceline.

"cause I'm only a crack, in this castle of glass.
hardly anything else, I need to beeeee...

'Cause I'm only a crack, In this castle of glaaaass.
Hardly anything there, For you to see... For you to seeeee...

...For you to see."

Marceline stared at Aiden for a moment, processing what she just saw.
she wanted to give him a hug, but decided to keep hidden as she was technically spying on him like a creep.

Aiden exhaled as he put his Keytar down, and stood up.
Dogmeat also stood up, waiting to see what the human would do.

Aiden silently walked over to the shelves to inspect the food items there:

Sugar Bombs, Fancy Lad Snack Cakes, Blamco Mac & Cheese, Cram... and pretty much all of it was centuries old.

"man, most of these aren't even edible anymore..." mused Aiden.

"but what can I expect?, not many food and drink have a 200+ year long shelf life."

Marceline continued to stare in silence, still invisible.

Aiden then walked up to the ladder, and began to climb out of the cellar.
Marceline quickly flew out (careful to not bump into Aiden) and watched as he walked into the station nexus.

Aiden then approached the door leading into the garage and looked inside.

"Marcy?" spoke Aiden. "...where are you?"

"HERE."

"GAAH!" Aiden jumped as Marceline suddenly appeared behind him.

"sorry."

Aiden breathed heavily. "Jesus, you could sneak up on a Ninja!"

Before Marceline could respond, there was a sudden crash outside.
Alarmed, Aiden, Marceline and even Dogmeat rushed out into the convenience store.

Once there, the group saw that it was not only raining outside, but the sky was lit with lightning.

"a storm?!" spoke Marceline, puzzled.

"But there wasn't a cloud in the sky before!" exclaimed Aiden.

Marceline shrugged. "Well, the weather can change quick."

Aiden huffed. "guess so. looks like we're not going anywhere tonight."

Marceline shrugged. "It's just as well. I'd feel better if you got more rest."

Now it was Aiden's turn to shrug. "might as well. I don't have much of a choice.
In any case, we can use the underground cellar to shelter you if the sun is out tomorrow."

Marceline lightly chuckled. "I don't know if you're sweet, or absent-minded for thinking about my needs instead of your own."

Aiden blushed at this. "w-well, I-"

"no worries. And you're right: That cellar will come in handy if I can't go out tomorrow morning." said Marceline.

The pair fell silent as they watched the storm persist outside.

while the glass windows of the gas station were all gone, and they could still feel the wind outside
they were for the most part completely safe from the storm, even without the underground bunker.

Marceline then grinned, wordlessly walked over to some empty shelves...and performed a powerful kick on one of them.

Marceline's kick was done with such force, that the shelf flew and crashed into the other shelves.
And with a loud CRASH, all the empty shelves flew into a wall and shattered upon impact.

Aiden was flabbergasted by this sudden act of destruction.

"MARCY!, WHAT THE HELL WOMAN!?"

"Just clearing out some space..." said Marceline, an odd calmness in her voice.

"okaaay... Why?"

Marceline only shrugged in response. "dunno... just felt like it."

Aiden stared at Marceline with wide, unblinking eyes. ("damn, this woman is nuts.") thought Aiden.
("and yet, I don't know if I feel concerned... or Aroused. Shit, maybe *I'M* the one whose nuts!")

"I'm... just gonna go take a nap, and-Oh, wait. There is only one bed here!" exclaimed Aiden, in sudden realization.

"Eh, no worries. You can have it." said Marceline.

Aiden looked at Marceline. "You sure?, I mean... You might need SOME sleep."

"I don't need sleep as much as you would." explained Marceline.

"I mean... I *DO* sleep, but it takes me awhile to get tired enough for that.
Besides, you may notice that I float most of the time. I don't need a lay on mattress."

Aiden eyed Marceline. "Really?, you sleep in the air?!"

Marceline decided to demonstrate by falling backwards and instantly levitated horizontally.
She even put her hands behind her head, imitating a typical sleeping posture while she floated in place.

"yeah, pretty much." answered Marceline. "Cool, huh?"

Aiden stared, but eventually smiled. "yeah. It sure would save me trouble if I could do that."

Aiden then let out a yawn. "alright... I'm gonna hit the sack. but Promise me that you'll get SOME sleep."

Marceline waved her hand nonchalantly. "yeah-yeah, I promise... I'll take a catnap."

Aiden smiled. "thanks, Marce. Well... see you in the morning."

Marceline winked at the human and watched as he left.

Once she was certain he was gone though... Marceline screamed in her throat.

"IDIOT!" exclaimed Marceline. "WHY did you have to say DO THAT!?"

Marceline proceeded to harmlessly kick a counter in aggravation.

While she had put on her usual 'devil-may-care' persona earlier when she kicked the shelves and destroyed them,
in truth she only did it as she felt awkward, panicked and did the first thing that came to mind to break the tension.

Which she now realized only made her come off as Crazy (and not just crazy: *ICE KING* Crazy!)

"I dunno!, I just FELT LIKE IT!?" said Marceline, mocking her own earlier words.

Marceline finally stopped kicking once her leg started feeling sore.
She grumbled as she crossed her arms and stood still, staring down at her cowboy boots.

"Marceline Petrikov Abadeer, you may be Awesome but you can also be a Total Dork sometimes..."

Marceline breathed out as she pulled out her Axe-Bass, floated casually
and began to strum the chords, playing a random melody to calm her nerves.

Playing music always calmed her when she was stressed.

Marceline closed her eyes and vibed to the music that her hands blindly made.
Her mind painted a picture of The Land of Ooo, and all of her loved ones.

Finn... Jake... BMO... Simon (well, The Ice King technically) LSP, her bandmates Bongo, Keila, Guy, and... Bonnibel.

Marceline let out a deep sigh.

She knew that logically it didn't make sense, considering she was 900 years in the past.
But Marceline couldn't help but wonder... Had her friends noticed her absence yet?, did they... miss her?

Well, OF COURSE they would miss her. And knowing Bonnie, she would probably send out her Banana Army to search for her.

That is, assuming she didn't return at the exact moment that she left in the first place.

Marceline then chuckled as she imagined how funny it would be to return home after being on an adventure
that lasted for Grob only knows how long and being happy to see everyone again, saying how much she missed them...

...Only for her loved ones to look at her like she was nuts as for THEM, she'd had only been gone for a few minutes!

But then... Marceline frowned as she considered the very real possibility that she might never return home.

She still didn't know how she transported herself back in time to begin with.
And she already knew that replicating how she did it the first time wasn't working

(If she could, then she would've already returned home by now!)

Marceline could think of only one guaranteed way to return to the Land of Ooo,
and she REALLY hoped she would find a better way, as she didn't like the idea of WAITING for the next 900 years.

Not that she couldn't do that. Afterall, she was an Ageless, Immortal Vampire. Time meant nothing to her.
So, apart from her own boredom, there really was nothing stopping her travelling back the old fashioned way.

..except if she DID do that, then she would end up losing Aiden.

Yes, in the short time they had been together Marceline had grown fond of the human.
and there was a part of her that wanted to take him with her back to the Land of Ooo.

While he would need time to adjust to that kind of life, It would still be better than the life he had to live right now.

Marceline wanted Aiden to be happy, and not worry about his own survival.
She wanted him to meet all her friends (and Bonnie), and for her loved ones to meet him as well.

That was her dream now... Her Wish.

And yet... Marceline HAD to be realistic. There was no guarantee that she could have the best of both worlds.

She had to consider the harsh reality that this would have to be her new life now.
To once again fight to survive in the Post-Apocalypse until she could go back to her old life.

And while she had someone by her side so she wouldn't have to go through it alone again... How long would it last?

As much as she wanted to protect Aiden, she couldn't protect him from his own human mortality.
Unlike Simon, he didn't have a cursed artifact that would prolong his life at the expense of his sanity.

(and even if she COULD find something like that in this world, she wasn't sure if she could let him do that to himself.
It would be just as bad as her simply turning him into a Vampire. Either way, he would live a cursed existence.)

Marceline exhaled as she stopped playing her Axe-Bass. Maybe she *DID* need to sleep to take her mind off of things.

Tomorrow Is Another Day, as they say.

Marceline flew like a living shadow back into the Staff Room of the Red Rocket.
As she contemplated where to sleep, she eyed the still open trapdoor to the cellar.

Shrugging, she decided to quickly check up on Aiden and see if he was sleeping.
As she floated down, she heard the sounds of soft snoring (which answered her question.)

But she then froze upon seeing that Aiden WASN'T sleeping on the cot like she expected.
Instead, he was the floor... in a Blue-and-Yellow sleeping bag (with Dogmeat sleeping beside him.)

("Un-Fricking-Believable!") spoke Marceline in her head.

("After I ALREADY said he could have the bed, and that I didn't need it!
He STILL insisted on sleeping on the frocking floor like a dog!?")

Marceline's hands made a claw gesture as she mimed strangling something.

"Grob, I don't know if you're a sweetheart, or a dumbass." spoke Marceline, finally. "maybe you're both: a "Sweetass Dumbheart."

Marceline exhaled, not wanting to wake Aiden up to start such a petty argument.
She decided to accept Aiden's charity, and floated down onto the bed.

BUT before she did, she leaned down to where Aiden lay... and gave him a peck on the cheek.

"goodnight aiden... sweet dreams."

Marceline finally turned out the light, laid on the bed and closed her eyes.

It wasn't long until she too drifted off to sleep.

[To Be Continued]

[Author Notes]

This chapter is unavoidably one of the weaker ones that probably doesn't add very much.
other than bringing in this incarnation of Fallout's unofficial mascot' Dogmeat.

(who I should remind is NOT the same Dogmeat from Fallout 4, the Fallout TV Series
or ANY OTHER past incarnation of Dogmeat, but rather a different Wasteland Dog named "Dogmeat.")

While I am sure followers of this story are sad to see Aiden departing from Cogswell,
rest assured this won't be his final appearance. He will appear again later in the story

(I do have a plan for Cogswell that borderlines a bit of J.A.R.V.I.S from Iron Man.)

The Underground Cellar turned Bomb Shelter is a reference to a secret that can be found in Fallout 4,
where one of the houses in Sanctuary Hills had a "root cellar" shelter that never got used.

Rather than copy that for Paradise Hills, and took that Cellar Shelter idea
and instead moved it to underneath the Red Rocket Gas Station to make it more of a home base

(related note, when I do play Fallout 4 I tend to use the Red Rocket as my main player home,

as it is small, secluded and at the right distance from Sanctuary so I can assist the Minutemen,
but also not have to live in a crowded area and have time to myself and not have settlers using my stuff.

Yeah, you laugh. But when a random NCP starts sleeping in your bed and taking your Power Armor,
you start to see the benefits of living like a hermit with your dog as your companion.)

I again have Aiden sing a modern song, and I chose Linkin Park's "Castle of Glass"
as I felt it was a song that fits Aiden in the mental state he is in currently.

I wrote Aiden to be a character with potential, but has a low opinion of himself.
He is hurting, trying to cope and want to be better, but clearly needs help.

(this won't be the last Linkin Park song that I add to this story.)

I also decided to go ahead and tease the romantic tension between Aiden and Marceline,
with Aiden revealing (to Dogmeat) that he might already have feelings for Marceline

but is obviously keeping that to himself since they've only known each other for a day.

Likewise, Marceline is feeling her own "confusing emotions" for Aiden.

While she hasn't quite reached the point where these feelings are romantic in any way,
she does already have a bond with the human that makes her want to return back to Ooo WITH him.

Speaking of, I gave Marceline some time to brood on her complicated situation
where she is stranded 900 years in the past and what her options really are.

This is me teasing readers and making them wonder just where this story actually will go.

(and it really could go either way. Like Fallout, there may be different endings to this story,
but don't worry. I will be exploring all the possible endings once I reach that point.)

Marceline's musing on the unlikelihood of Aiden's life being prolonged at the expense of his sanity
was not only an obvious reference to Simon Petrikov, and how the crown he found turned him into the Ice King.

It is also a subtle reference the "Cabot House" side mission from Fallout 4, in which a Lorenzo Cabot
was a Pre-War human who found a 'crown' that prolonged his life, but also drove him insane

(and his own family then extracted his blood and used it to prolong THEIR lives,
which made him call them "a bunch of Vampires!", which in context is VERY ironic.)

Not saying that Marceline and Aiden will encounter the Cabot House in this story,
but I wanted to point out that such a thing DOES exist in the Fallout Universe
that could cause something similar to the Ice King to happen to Aiden.

Lastly, a Behind the Scenes factoid.

Originally there was going to be a dance scene between Aiden and Marceline
following the funny scene where she kicked the shelves and cleared the room.

I decided to scrap that scene and save it for a much later chapter.
BUT I didn't want to lose the shelf kick scene, so I kept it in anyway.

I also made refence to the "Scream Queen" comic book arc when where Marceline
was name dropping her close friends (and Bubblegum) from Ooo, she mentioned: Bongo, Keila and Guy.

They may or may not be canon to the animated series, but I wanted to mention them here
as I like the idea of Marceline having bandmates who she would also miss (and would miss her too.)
