Just a heads up before you read this last chapter; I apologize for any out-of-character stuff on a cameo hero. You'll find out who I mean.
And, I'm reminding once again for art commissioners to please stop bothering me with bogus deals where I've already made it clear that I do not do that. Otherwise, I'll be reporting and blocking you all for the frauds that you are.
Now, back to our story.
The next day...
Izzy woke up from her bed, after having the sweetest dream ever. Even seeing her two stuffed animals, Storm and Thumper.
Just then, a kid opened the door to Izzy's room. "Hey, Izzy. Ms. Harriet said to come downstairs. She has something important to tell you."
"Oh, okay," Izzy said. "Thanks, Leaser," Then got off from her bed, brushed her teeth, and got her normal clothes on. "Coming!" She yelled to the head of the orphanage. She walked down the stairs and saw Ms. Harriet with two adults. "What is it, Ms. Harriet?"
"Isabelle, I'd like you to meet Mr. and Mrs. Bromfield. They've come a long way from Fawcett City to meet you," Ms. Harriet said.
"Me?" Izzy asked.
The three adults nodded. "Yes." Ms. Harriet replied.
"We heard how you became an orphan after you lost your parents," Mr. Bromfield said.
"So, we want to offer you something...A new family." Mrs. Bromfield offered.
"You're saying...you want to...adopt me?" Izzy asked, feeling something she never had in a long time, even before she met Harry...Hope.
Mr. Bromfield nodded. "What do you say, Isabelle? Want to be part of our family?"
"We have two kids that went through the same thing as you did. And they were reunited," Mrs. Bromfield said. "I hope you don't mind having a brother and sister."
Izzy was shedding tears. But it wasn't tears of sorrow...they were tears of joy. She even gave a happy expression. "Yes!" Izzy cheered. She then gives Mr. And Mrs. Bromfield a big hug. "This is all I ever wanted..."
Ms. Harriet was happy for Izzy. She'll finally leave Gotham City with a new family and start a new life. "I'll bring the paperwork. Izzy, go pack your things."
"Yes ma'am," Izzy said, as she ran back upstairs, quickly grabbed her luggage, went to her room, and then noticed a present on her bed. "Where did this come from?" She asked herself.
Izzy read the tag, and it said it was from Harry.
Dear Izzy,
I hope you had a wonderful time last night. We worked very hard to bring this magical moment in your life to give you something I never had when I first became an orphan. Someone to bring comfort and cheer up after such a heavy loss. I cannot see the future but I know things will be bright for you. So long as you don't forget the people that matter and never give up. I hope you find what you are looking for.
Sincerely, your friend,
Harry T. Lewis.
P.S. Pauline and I wanted to give you more than the outfit you wore last night at the carnival. Something that fits your name…Beautiful Gift of the Forest. I hope you like it.
Izzy then opened the present and what she saw...left her in awe...
A few minutes later...
Izzy walked down the stairs and to the adults' surprise she was wearing a cute little white wolf onesie.
"Aww, she looks so cute!" Mrs. Bromfield said.
"Izzy, what are you wearing?" Ms. Harriet asked.
"It's a wolf Kigurumi. I saw it in my room when I was packing," Izzy said. "It was a gift from a very special friend of mine."
"You like wolves?" Mr. Bromfield curiously asked.
"Yes, I do. And so did my dad. He was fascinated with wolves; he told me once that they are known as protectors of their pack. So, I'm going to wear this Kigurumi from now on, to remember my dad. And my mom's courage."
"Then, good thing the paperwork is filled up. Congratulations, Isabelle Sylas, you are officially adopted," Ms. Harriet said. "We're going to miss you."
"I'll miss you, too. Tell everyone I said goodbye, I'll miss them, and good luck." Izzy requested.
"I will," Ms. Harriet replied. "Take care of yourself, Izzy. And good luck."
"Thank you, Ms. Harriet. Goodbye,"
Izzy then leaves with Mr. And Mrs. Bromfield. And outside of the orphanage, Izzy sees two kids waiting outside the car. A boy and a girl.
"Aww, she looks so cute," The girl said.
"Yeah, even with that cute wolf onesie on," The boy said.
"Are these the kids you told me about?" Izzy asked her new parents.
"Yes. This is Billy and Mary Batson. Your new brother and sister," Mrs. Bromfield introduced.
Izzy walked towards the Baston kids. "Hi," She said to them.
"Hi," Billy and Mary said.
"I hope you guys won't be jealous of me, now that I'm going to be part of your family," Izzy said.
"Why would we be jealous? I always wanted to be a big sister," Mary said.
"Same here, but as a big brother," Billy said. "You got nothing to worry about…Izzy, was it?" Izzy nodded where Billy continued. "This will be a new adventure and experience for all of us. And we'll give you all the love and fun a little sister like you deserves."
"And no matter what, little sister, we'll protect you with all our hearts." Mary said. And she meant that both emotionally and physically.
Izzy felt so happy she hugged her new siblings. And Billy and Mary hugged her back in return.
"Come on, kids. Let's get Izzy to her new home... In Fawcett City," Mr. Bromfield said as he and his wife went into the car.
As Izzy was putting her luggage stuffed in the trunk, even her new plushies, she looked at a far distance and saw Harry peeking from behind a tree. He didn't want to say anything because this was her moment. She was finally going to leave Gotham City, just as her birth parents wanted.
"Told you that you'd be with a loving family," Harry muttered, smiling gently while giving a respectable nod to her.
Izzy smiled at Harry, nodding back. She opened her luggage for a brief second to take out a note she wrote while packing, folded it into a paper airplane, and threw it in Harry's direction. Harry caught and read the note. It reads:
Dear Harry,
Thank you for everything; The wolf suit, the new kawaii dress, the plushies, and the best time I ever had yesterday. You gave me back my happiness, and I have regained something I have lost for so long... Hope. I'm starting a new life, a new adventure, a new family. But I will never forget you or the others. Tell them I said goodbye. I finally get to leave this city for good this time. But I promise, once a month, I will visit to pay my respects to my parents. I hope you won't forget me. And again, thank you, for everything...
Love, Isabelle.
Goodbye... friend.
Harry chuckled, after reading the note and looking back up to wave at Izzy goodbye. "Good luck, my friend. You'll be great out there."
Izzy waved goodbye as she got into the car, and went to the back seat.
"Who was that boy you were looking at Izzy?" Mary asked.
"Just a friend I made while living at the orphanage," Izzy said. "He's the reason I'm very happy and I get to be with you guys."
"That's good to hear," Billy said. "He sounds like a very special guy."
"He sure is," Izzy said. 'Though, a bit shady at times.' She thought in her mind. As the car was starting to move, Izzy waved goodbye to Harry one last time.
After seeing the car Izzy was inside out of his sight, Harry decided to take his leave. He had his hands in his pocket with a silent smile on his face.
Izzy also noticed someone on the rooftop of the orphanage. It was a caped figure, it was Batman, looking down at Izzy she was leaving Gotham. Izzy was in awe; she saw the caped crusader himself. She didn't say anything, but Batman, seeing Izzy in the car with his bat binoculars, smiled and gave Izzy a thumbs up. Wishing her good luck.
Izzy smiled and gave him a thumbs-up back, as well. The car left the orphanage, and Izzy was finally leaving Gotham.
While walking, Harry stumbled upon seeing a familiar car around the corner of the street. One that made him smile deviously and call his female friend. He even made sure the call wasn't traceable nor recognizable from being tracked.
"Hey, Mistress of Metamorphosis. Call the rest of our supported teammates to meet at our second favorite spot. I'm about to cross off a new task from our list involving some wheels from a certain dark vigilante's car disappearing," Harry coded, being cautious about getting seen.
"Oooohh, you found the Batmobile?! Perfect. I'll get the boys right away!" Pauline replied.
The dirty blonde boy brought out his retractable crystal staff where it turned purple and pointed it at the Batmobile while closing his eyes to focus. When that happened…the tires disappeared in a purple flash. When opening his eyes to see it worked, he then put the crystal staff away in his jacket and walked away like nothing was going on.
"That's going to be in the history books," Harry responded, unable to hold a laugh in amusement shortly. "The Dark Knight's going to be so surprised when discovering where those tires ended up. Well…almost all of them."
Meanwhile...
Somewhere in Gotham, Patrick "Eel" O'Brian, the reformed thief turned Superhero Plastic Man, and his sidekick, Woozy Winks, were driving around the city, doing their patrol. Plastic Man was turned into a car while Woozy was on the seat.
But then, tires started appearing above them.
Woozy noticed and altered Plastic Man. "Plas, incoming!"
Plastic Man moved his eyes up and noticed a tire falling from the sky and it hit him in his eyes. "AAHHHH! I can't see! Woozy! We're being attacked! By evil tires!" He then started driving crazy as more tires fell on him and his sidekick.
"Are you sure, boss?" Woozy asked.
"Oh, I'm sure. Anything can happen in Gotham. Even evil talking tires!" Plastic Man said, while driving like crazy.
From a distance, hiding in a building, the Gotham Grimtales in their suit getups were laughing at the two heroes shown on the big screen. Harry/Hatty was using his staff to control the tires to come back and hit them like boomerangs. Along with Greg/Techno-Tune using his drones to capture all the funny angles. Pauline/Moth Queen and Evan/Scarecrow enjoyed the show with popcorn while laughing hard.
"And I thought hijacking the Batmobile and going on a wild ride across Gotham with Green Arrow's router arrow was insane," Scarecrow stated, still laughing.
"So, stealing the wheels off the Batmobile as much as using them to target Plastic Man was on our list of things to do before being adults?" Moth Queen asked, keeping it together from laughing too much when speaking.
"It is now!" Hatty remarked, laughing again while making a Bat Tire whack Plas and Woozy from behind. "Ah, this is too rich. It's like fish in a barrel with these guys."
Plastic Man then morphed back into his normal body shape. "Where are you, evil tires!?"
In response, two tires came down above where each one bonked at Plastic Man and Woozy's heads. Even had one trap Woozy with the hole of the tire slammed around his rotund body before collapsing and rolling.
"This is even better than I thought," Scarecrow said, chuckling.
"Oh, you ain't seen nothing yet," Hatty assured, before looking at Techno. "Activate multi-mode."
Nodding, Techno-Tune tapped on a few keys from his gauntlets to make it look like more rolling tires were coming. Hatty was just teleporting the real tires rolling in different directions to hit the two heroes.
Plastic Man freaked when he saw a tire standing up near him.
"Begone! I don't believe in you!" Plastic Man exclaimed, looking away.
As if requested, the tire disappeared where it made Plastic Man relax in relief...only to have a bunch of tires rolling and moving everywhere that made him break down.
"What?! Nooooo! All right, I believe in you!" Plastic Man shouted in defeat. He then grabbed the real moving tire and shifted into a slingshot to fire the tire at long distance. "Aha! You can't get the drop on-OW!"
His sentence was short-lived when he got assaulted three times by two tires hitting him from different directions.
"Oh, come on!" Plastic Man shouted, getting tired of this.
The Gotham Grimtales kept laughing at how funny this prank was.
"It's like Batarangs but for wheels," Techno-Tune stated, only to come up with a good name for it. "Oh! The Batwheelarangs!"
"Yes! Let's call this video 'Night of the Living Batwheelarangs!'," Scarecrow suggested with excitement, munching on his popcorn. "It will be the best short to look back at."
"Should we add cartoon music or leave it as is?" Moth Queen questioned.
"Eh. I'll let you know after I finish recording the prank," Techno shrugged, before looking at Hatty. "So, how long until Batman notices his wheels are in Plastic Man's custody?"
"Not long. Besides, the Dark Knight will only find three out of the four wheels there," Hatty stated, bringing up one of the tires of the Batmobile. "This little beauty is our souvenir trophy. I even verified it wasn't bugged or tracked so it's safe to keep."
"Nice," Scarecrow, Techno-Tune, and Moth Queen responded.
One thing people should know about the Gotham Grimtales is that the greater the good deed for regular people, the bigger the chaos these Gotham Grimtales bring to heroes, mobsters, and those who wronged them.
'I hope you made it to your new home safely, Izzy,' Harry/Hatty thought to himself with a gentle smile, thinking about the young girl he helped. 'I just know you'll be having a better life than I ever did or asked for at your age. Hopefully, away from that menace who targeted your family.'
Later at night...
In Fawcett City, Mr. and Mrs. Bromfield showed Izzy to her new room. It was bigger than what she had at the orphanage. Izzy was happy to have her own room again where she could store more of her things.
"You're going to like it here, Izzy," Billy promised.
"Like it? No…I'm going to love it here! I hope my birth parents are watching over me, and that they're happy that I'm finally free from Gotham," Izzy said.
"I'm sure they are, Izzy," Mary said. "We'll give you some time to settle in. But welcome to our family."
"Thanks, Mary and Billy. I'll try to be the best little sister I can." Izzy said.
"Just be yourself, Izzy. You don't have to be perfect for us. Just be you," Billy said. "We better get some rest. It's going to be a lot to adjust to. Goodnight, Izzy."
Izzy then yawned. "Goodnight, Billy; goodnight, Mary. See you in the morning."
An hour and a half later...
Izzy already had her stuff out and organized. Even had her new stuffed animals on her new bed. As she slept, it was quiet. No snoring, no night terrors... Nothing but sweet silence. Izzy felt hope once again after so long as she slept soundly...
But then... A flash of light beamed across the sky. Izzy turned around in her sleep, but she woke up when she noticed a blue glow hovering from her window and towards her. It spoke to her...
"Isabelle Sylas; you have reunited with the hope you have lost for so long. It is a greater power than you ever realize. You have untapped potential that will make you the most powerful Warrior of Hope in the universe. Take this ring... And become...A Blue Lantern."
Thanks to Harry, Izzy Sylas has a second chance at a family, a second chance at a new life, and possibly now, a chance to be something more than what she already has. And it was all thanks to the compassion...of a Generous Grimtale.
Not the end, but merely... The beginning?
The beginning of a new Blue Lantern, indeed. Bet you weren't expecting that, huh?
Anyway, Izzy Sylas and her new Blue Lantern form belong to Alvaxerox.
Also, that hilarious prank scene involving Plastic Man being dunked by Batwheelarangs was inspired by the 'Over the Hedge' short titled 'Hammy's Boomerang Adventure'. It's been on my mind more than once and I thought it would be amusing. XD I seriously recommend finding that on YouTube. Also, let's be honest. Plastic Man is the only silly hero to believe evil tires are real. He once thought the banners for Voting Day were Circus related of it coming to town. Explains that 'Best of' video on YouTube titled 'Plastic Man: Hero or Idiot?'. No disrespect to him, of course. I'm just implying what the title said.
And yes, I did reference Harry stealing the wheels of the Batmobile from Jason Todd aka Redhood. It may or may not be a nod to what role Harry was originally meant to be. Just saying.
Oh! Before I forget, that part about the Gotham Grimtales hijacking the Batmobile was mentioned in another story found in GoldGuardian2418's story 'A Mad And Curious Meeting'. I recommend reading it to learn about the Gotham Grimtales like you never read them before.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed this story. The next one is something in the line of Spring and shockingly fashion-forward. You'll see. ^_^ Be sure to give both Alvaxerox and me credit on this collaborated story.
