Chapter summary: Scott proposes, some malice aforethought and a bet are involved
Author's note: Haven't really been able to write anything lately, but this short happy little scene popped into my head, and I grabbed it with both hands.
"Hey Conrad."
"Hey Scottie."
"I gotta a question for you."
"Yeah?"
"Marry me?"
"Yes."
"Good"
And that was that...for about forty second before Gordon started squawking.
"That's it?!"
He popped up from his seat and blustered over to them.
"That's not romantic at all!"
He poked Scott in the chest.
"Where's the drama?"
He waved his hands around as he circled them.
"Where's the moonlight, the dancing, and deep sighs and staring into one another's eyes?! You're reading, back to back with one another on the couch in the lounge!"
Gordon stopped when he saw Scott ruefully handing Conrad a large chocolate bar, then he glared at them:
"I missed something, didn't I?"
And they both had the audacity to just smile brightly at him, as Conrad broke off a chunk of the chocolate bar and handed it back to Scott.
"You two are the worst!"
