"…back full circle. Well that's the way to heal…"

Scott paused as a soulful, raspy voice drifted from their bedroom. It had been one of Conrad's mother's favorite songs, and he only listened to it when life was bothering him. Scot had sensed something had been wrong since his husband's birthday a few days ago, and this song gave Scott a hint at what it might be about.

He slipped through the partially open door and quietly closed and locked it behind him.

"Hey babe," he said softly, sitting down on the bed beside Conrad who was hunched over himself, arms around his knees. Scott waited a moment then wrapped an arm around Conrad's shoulders gently and loosely pulling him over to his side, "wanna talk about it?"

The song played through twice again, and only tears soaked Scott's shoulder.

"I," Conrad started, then stopped, a rough shudder running through him, "I am. I am officially older than my parents ever got to be."

Scott closed his eyes almost sorry he had guessed right, and hugged Conrad close.

"…We've gone too far for far too long. We never meant to stray. Head for the horizon today…"

Author's note: The song Conrad is listening to on repeat is Abney Park's Head For The Horizon. This song may, or may not turn up again in a different fic.
