Here we go with chapter 22, I'm glad to be back, and I hope everyone will be ready for today. I've been trying to make sure to get this ready for a while, especially when the fights break out. Yes, we did get some fights last time, but that was just a small taste of the chaos that is going to break out, especially with the British coming in. So, get ready for that,
Also, thanks guys for the support on the last chapter and I hope you'll enjoy this chapter. Now, last time we saw Melody and Lapis managing to distract Titus' crew, though not for long when they saw who Melody was. Still, they got some bit of backup in the form of Ashla Gibbs. She is related to the Gibbs from the pirates' movies but haven't revealed if she's his daughter or granddaughter.
Though given his age, I think you'll all have figured that out before the reveal.
Still, how will things go before the big fight breaks out? Will the girls be able to get away before it happens? Will Gabriella finish her part of the mission and save Ariel? Or will they run into some trouble that'll keep this story from ending so short?
Tune in today to find out everyone. Now, time for the disclaimer. I don't own anything owned by Disney except the OCs of my friend. Also, again I'm doing this for my friend who can no longer work on my projects.
Enjoy the chapter everyone.
Chapter XXII
York, England
There was a time that England used to be home to an array of different mythical creatures. Creatures that were both good, evil, and neutral. All coming in all sorts of sizes. Some were small little fairies that would go around the forests to help with nature. Others like the Brownie elves that would help the local humans with any chores.
There were even dragons that lived in the land but were kind and beautiful creatures that mean no harm, unless threatened.
But as time passed, humans began to see these creatures as monsters and an abomination to God. So, they were hunted down, their homes destroyed and were driven from their land. And while many did leave, others remained. Hidden within the shadows and wait for their time to finally return.
Outside of York, stood a cottage, an old looking wooden cottage. It had its windows open to show candles illuminating inside, it had strange wooden objects hanging along the edge of the roof of the home, a chimney that had smoke coming out of it, and a porch with a small little man sitting on a rocking chair.
The little man appeared to be in his early 30s with short red hair, red goatee, and green eyes. He also has a black hat, black long-sleeved shirt with a green dirty vest over it, and dark brown shoes. The little man appears to be working on fixing a shoe while giving it some color with a small paint brush. As he worked on it, his attention turned to some people walking towards the cottage, making him smile.
Coming towards the cottage, is Marina and her two assistants, Mei and Mai Katsumoto. Both girls appeared to be wearing white cat-like masks with white cloaks covering their bodies, long straw hats, and love sleeves to cover their arms. Despite the mask, their size and body features did seem to show they're in their teenage ages. They also showed to have long white hair and fair skin.
Both are extremely loyal to Marina and will fight for her.
Marina had left the town to go visit an old friend for some supplies. She knew with their upcoming journey; she'd need all the ingredients she can get to prepare herself. She also knew time is of the essence. The British will be arriving soon and if they find the pirates in York, a fight will break out.
She knew Undertow would take care of the fleet, but the soldiers on land will be difficult to take care of without her spells. Even without them, her little assistants or rather her little assassins would take care of them.
In a way, they remind her of her mother's little 'babies' that she used to have. Before she blew them to bits accidentally, while trying to kill Ariel's husband.
Soon, they saw their destination and begin heading towards it when she saw the little man from the rocking chair is now standing by the entrance.
"Good evening, Aidan. It's been a long time, hasn't it?" said Marina as she spoke to the other who she's familiar with.
"Aye. It's been a long time, lassie," said the little man now revealed to be Aidan. He stood on the porch with a wooden cane in hand. "I'm surprised to see you back so soon, lassie. Tell me, what do ye need from the mistress?"
"Ingredients. Lots of them," said Marina as she walked up the steps, but only halfway so she doesn't go past where the wooden objects hanging over the house are at. "And I need them, fast."
"Ah, I see," said Aidan as he looked past Marina before looking out to see, where the house has a clear view of the coast. Narrowing his eyes, he sees what is coming and begins to laugh. "If ye came here for the ingredients, that tells me you finished using up the ones the mistress gave you. And so soon. What happened? Did ye all bit off more than you can chew?"
"Quit playing games, Aidan," said Marina as she kept her cool, while trying to show no respect towards the little man before her. "I need them for our journey to retrieve Poseidon's trident. I need to hurry and get them before…"
"Before the British arrive," said Aidan as he interrupts what Marina was going to say, before he lets out a small, disappointed sigh. "Lass, when you came here wanting to learn magic from both me and the mistress, we did so in order for you to better yourself. Not to try impressing that witch of a mother of yours. You know she never cared for ye and you doing this with Titus isn't going to make things better."
Marina didn't say anything and just stood there, listening to him talking to her. Though she tried to ignore it, knowing she isn't doing this for her mother…well, a small part of it. But it's more than that. And knows this means a lot to her.
Aidan walked down the steps and took Marina's left hand to try comforting her. "This path you're on will only lead to you getting hurt. You and Titus both know this. It is not too late for either of you to walk away from this."
Marina felt him holding her hand and wanted to tear it away, but she knew he did care for her. And she appreciated all they'd done for her, but she knew with what has happened, it's too late to turn back now.
"I'm sorry, Aidan," said Marina as she slowly pulled her hand back. "But I can't do that. I need to do this. I need to see it through and maybe…maybe find some peace."
Aidan sighed softly as he had hoped to change the poor girl's mind, but he could tell she is determined to go through with this. Both her and Titus will finish what they both started, which is what worries the little man.
Aidan shakes his head as if he didn't want her to do this, but he knew he can't change her mind. So, lifting up his cane, the wooden objects begin to move apart, as if letting Marina in,
"I assume you have the gold?" Aidan asked as he began walking towards the house.
"Never leave anywhere without a bag full of them," said Marina as she shows the bag of gold.
"That's my girl," said Aidan as he walked her inside the house, while Marina motions for the twins to stay outside. "I'm afraid the mistress is out at the moment in town."
"Really?" Marina asked as they headed inside the house as she passed by the curtain at the entrance. "I didn't think she would go into town anymore."
"Usually not, but Griffin is busy chasing away some wolves from his sheep and Lisa is taking care of the rat problem in town," said Aidan as he begins waving his cane around causing the candles in the house to lighten up even more, showing more the inside of the house.
The house looked like a little shop. Surrounded by small bottles with different colored liquids, old looking objects, small colored rocks, wooden sticks tied together, some small weapons, and old looking books.
"Now then, the mistress had assumed you would return soon so," Aidan begins moving behind the counter and with his cane, lifts it up to cause a large trunk to appear floating off the ground. Aidan levitates it over the counter and brings it down next to Marina. "Will these supplies do?"
Marina opens the trunk and begins to inspect the contents inside. It has all the ingredients she'll need and even a few she didn't think she wanted, but now did.
"This will do just fine," said Marina as she closes the trunk and turned towards Aidan. "How much?"
"Well," Aidan begins to take out his notepad and climbs up to sit on the stool chair before he begins looking over the prices. "About…300 gold pieces."
Marina's eyes widened as she heard the price for the ingredients in the trunk. "300?! Are you serious?! That's pure robbery right there."
"Hey! You know how hard it is to find this stuff?" Aidan replied while in a calm town, while the other lost her cool. "Most of the stuff on the list are almost impossible to find nowadays thanks to what these humans have been doing. 300 is the friend price we're giving you. Not to mention we threw in some extra ingredients that you may need on your journey and a book to tell you what to do with them."
Marina begins mumbling in anger knowing this was still ridiculous. She looked down at the bag and is thankful she has the gold coins to pay, but she had hoped the price was less than 300 coins. She takes out what she would have left and gives him the rest in the bag. Aidan took it and gave a small head no to Marina.
"See? Now was that so hard?" Aidan asked as he began counting the gold coins.
Marina put the rest of the coins in her pocket before she took out four large dead crabs from her bag. She begins setting them down on the floor, before she grabs the heavy trunk and gently puts it on the crabs. She then begins to speak an incantation, which causes the dead crabs to come to life and begin lifting the trunk with ease. Aidan took notice of this and looked impressed.
"Someone's been studying her magic book," said Aidan as he finished counting the coins and puts them away in the safe.
Marina nods as she shows the book in her bag. "Never leave home without it. I've memorized all the spells, but I have it with me in case I need to combine some spells together."
"A good move, lassie," said Aidan as he begins to get off the chair and walked over to Marina. "I still wish you and Titus went on a different path than the one you two are on. You two are capable of doing so much more for this world and helping make it better."
Marina's expression turned to one of sadness before she puts the book away and crossed her arms. "I don't get you, Aidan. Why are you and the mistress insisting on us trying to do good when you know these humans don't deserve it," she then scoffed and points with her left hand towards the town of York. "For goodness' sake, those humans stole your land. The land of your people, of all the mythical creatures of the land!"
She then begins to point towards the sea. "They even bound the mistress in human form and stripped her of her power. Binding her so they can rule the sea. And yet you two are still trying to help these humans who don't deserve it! We're trying to change all of that and restore things to the way they were before."
Aidan sighed softly as he knew the lass wasn't wrong. Things were different back then and he can understand why she feels like this when it comes to humans. He begins to remove his hat and reveal his long pointy ears. He even had around his neck a medallion with an Irish symbol on it.
"Lass, you aren't wrong. Humans are cursed beings that have so much potential and continue to waste it doing terrible things. This land was once pure, free, and full of so many wonderful creatures. But then the humans came along and drove us away," said Aidan as he understands what Marina is feeling but knew something that kept him from speaking and acting like her.
"But we've also seen their courage, their kindness, and their ability to do the right thing in the end. They're lost creatures, Marina. They simply need guidance to help put them on a better path. I know you don't believe this right now, but I promise you that if you focus your time in helping them, you'll see what your mistress and I see."
Marina highly doubts that. Yes, she hasn't been around for as long as both her masters have, but she's seen enough. She's seen their cruelty, their crimes, and their evil. As has Titus. She knew they're trying to do the right thing and do what even the Olympian Gods failed to do, and that's take care of the human problem.
She suddenly hears a small bird whistle coming from outside. Marina walked out the door and saw the twins pointing from a distance something marching towards the town. Marina took out her telescope and looked through it to see what it is. It was the British army, they're here.
"Time to go," said Marina as she whistles loudly before the crabs carrying her crate came running out of the house. "I'm sorry Aidan, but we need to go. I promise to return once this is over."
Aidan understood the urgency of Marina leaving and nodded in response. "Just come back to us alive, Marina. I would hate to find out you passed away from this dangerous journey."
"Don't worry. The next time you see me, it'll be after the world has changed," said Marina as she begins heading out with her stuff and return back to the ship.
Meanwhile
Out by the docks, stood several ships that were docked with much of the crew departing into town. Leaving behind a skeleton crew to run things around the ship. Each ship comes from different parts of the world. All visit to resupply, recruit more crewmates, get a drink, and have some bit of fun.
Each ship being left with small notes down the ramp. Showing the name of the ship and who it belongs to. One such ship, the Leviathan, was a ship that many in York knew all too well. And it is one ship no fool would dare try to climb onboard to steal or to try anything foolish.
However, there was one foolish enough to climb onboard. That fool is Gabriella, who is seen hiding behind some crates as she looks over to see what she's up against.
She looked over at the dark colored and ghost-like ship. The very same ship she remembered appearing from the shadows and killing those that she cared for. She felt her anger growing within her but managed to keep it from getting unleashed. She knew she could burn this ship to the ground and take Titus with it, but she knew she couldn't.
Oh sure, the code did keep her from trying such foolishness and she knew even her grandfather wouldn't be able to get her out of any trouble. Hell, knowing how strong he feels about keeping to the code, he'd likely shoot her for even breaking it. The guy would kill any who insults the code. Be they friends, foes, or family, she knew he would do it.
"At least he's upfront about it," Gabriella muttered under her breath before taking out her telescope knowing her top priority is Melody's mom. "I need to get her out of here and sabotage the rudder. At the very least that should buy us a few days before they try coming back to finish what they started."
Gabriella knew she needed to get Ariel out soon before the rest of the crew shows up. She could see at least two armed pirates guarding the entrance to the ramp. She could see them drinking the two bottles that she had paid a kid to give to the men. While they're unaware they're spiked with a drug that'll knock them out.
Of course, she gave the boy more coins so he wouldn't question what was in the drink.
After about a minute, the pirates soon began to fall to the ground and passed out. Gabriella walked out from behind the crates and runs over to first steal from the men. "Eh, it's not like they're going to need it."
She begins tying the two men and gags them to keep them from making any noises if the drug wears off quickly.
"I just hope Melody and Lapis have distracted the crew long enough for me to get Ariel out," said Gabriella to herself as she pulled out their pistols, along with their knives. "You boys won't be missing these."
She begins to head up the ramp and quietly tries to avoid making any noises. She's been on this ship before, so she had to head down below to look for the brig. If she runs into any of the other pirates, then she'll be able to handle them with ease. If she runs into Isaac or Titus or hell both of them at the same time, then she knows it won't end well.
Even handling one of them won't go well for her unless Titus is still weakened from his fight against her days ago.
"Shit, knowing that witch, she likely has him recovered," said Gabriella as she begins quietly walking along the ship trying to avoid making any noises.
Gabriella made her way across the deck of the ship quietly while seeing no other crewmember around. It looked like the only two up on top were the two she knocked out. This just meant the rest will likely be down below, including Titus and Isaac. So, she'll really need to be careful.
She makes her down below deck while thankful the stairs aren't making any creaking noises. She looked down in the hallway and sees the lit lanterns hanging along the wall of the ship. Illuminating her path as she made her way down to look to find where Ariel is at. If she's kept locked up somewhere, then it's likely going to be in further down in the ship.
Close to where the crew can ensure she won't be able to escape without getting past the rest of the crew. While also in an area where she'll be safe from any cannon fire from an enemy ship.
Gabriella kept her hand on her knife in case she ran into any trouble. So far? Nothing. She heard a few faint noises here and there, but nothing that sounded like it was close or was heading her way.
After about a few minutes of quietly walking down the hallway, she heard some voices coming nearby. She leaps up and held on to the beams on the ceilings. She looked down and saw what looked like two more of Titus' crewmates, walking out of a room, whispering in anger.
"Can you believe the nerve of Isaac?" one of the men whispered to the other. "We've been on this crew for three years and he still doesn't trust us."
"I know, right?" the other man replied in anger, but kept his voice low to a whisper. "It's not like we were going to do anything to the beautiful queen herself. We just wanted to bring her food to her and just have a chat with her. Is that so wrong?"
"Why does he give those little brats Naomi and Noah that job, but not us? We're more trusting than those little shits," said the first man as he took a sip of bottle. "And to tell us to stop drinking. We're pirates. We drink when we want."
"Maybe if you hadn't been drinking the bottle in front of him when we asked him to offer to bring the queen her food, then he would have said yes," said the second pirate as he begins walking away.
"I wasn't the one who came in with the bottle. It was you," said the first pirate as he pushes his friend forward, getting the other to turn around.
"Do that again. I dare ye," said the second pirate as he clearly wasn't in a good mood.
The first pirate chuckled drunkenly and pushed his friend again. "What are ye going to do about…"
Suddenly the second pirate tackled his friend and the two begin going at it. The two brawled down the hallway before they pushed against one of the doors. Gabriella saw her chance and began to hold on to the beam before she kicks both men through the door. She looked inside and saw it was where they kept the wood.
Most likely to keep the fire going for the kitchen and to work on fixing the boats along with the oars. She sees a nearby oar and grabs it before the two men got up to see who kicked them. She swings the oar and hits both men, breaking the oar. She then quietly locked the door before hearing some footsteps.
Acting quickly, she begins to blow out the lanterns around her before she sees its Isaac coming out from the room, he's in. "What are you two doing? Did I not say I told you both to…why is the lanterns out?"
Gabriella begins to quietly clear her throat before she begins making a perfect imitation of one of the pirates she knocked out. "Eh sorry, sir. Me and my mate got into it, but accidentally knocked him out. And I guess we accidentally blew out the lanterns. But don't worry, we'll light them up soon."
Isaac couldn't see well who the shadowy figure was, but they did sound like one of the two pirates he was lecturing on earlier. Looking down at his pocket watch, Isaac let out a loud sigh and rubs on the bridge of his nose before he replied.
"Just get them lit, wake your friend, and get to the deck. We'll need to prepare to depart soon," said Isaac as he didn't have time for such nonsenses.
"Hey Isaac!" spoke another voice that came from the room Isaac came out from. "I need your help getting this pig in the freezer. Get in here!"
Isaac sighed in frustration once more before he began removing his coat. "Fine. But you're carrying the head this time. And please make sure you gutted it properly this time."
Once Isaac left, Gabriella begins to turn on the lanterns so not to raise suspension before she begins to follow Isaac. Stopping by the entrance, she begins to take a peek inside and sees Isaac helping who she recognized as Raphael, their head chef, carrying a huge dead pig. She saw them standing by what she assumed is the 'freezer' he mentioned and got an idea.
Inside the kitchen, Raphael is seen putting on some gloves before handing them over to Isaac. "All right. On the count of three, we pick up the pig and put it inside. Are ye ready?"
"Are you ready? That's the proper way to say it. No ye or ya," said Isaac who tried to correct the other's grammatical error.
Raphaël sighed in annoyance and stood up straight before putting his hands on his hips. "Really? Now is the time for ye to try correcting my grammar? We have a lot of work to do ya know."
"I am aware," said Isaac as he stood up straight as well and crossed his arms. "But I would prefer it if you would take the lessons, I taught you and use them."
"Soy un pirata, idiota. Who gives a fuck how I speak?" Raphaël replied as he reminds the other how pointless it is to teach him anything like grammar.
"Just because we are pirates, doesn't mean we can't have some semblance of class," said Isaac as he points towards the freezer behind them. "And just because we're pirates, doesn't mean we can't use the tools and inventions provided for us to keep our food clean and long-lasting. Unlike how you used to do it before."
Raphael rolled his eyes and points to the freezer. "For your information, it wasn't my fault back then that's how we kept the food preserved. That's how we used to do, idiota."
"Stop calling me idiot. Just because you talk in your native language, doesn't mean I don't understand it," said Isaac who clearly knows what Raphael is saying.
"I have other words of what I can describe you, but I'm being a un caballero. So, I'm refraining from using any other colorful languages," said Raphael as he begins preparing to lift the dead animal.
"I'm just glad the capitán giving me this though," said Raphael as he motioned to the room they're in. "It has provided us the tools we need to properly preserve our food, while giving me a chance to cook more properly.
"Agreed, now if you're ready. Shall we get this over with?" Isaac asked as he wanted to get this over with.
Raphael nods in response before grabbing the head of the pig and lifted it before turning to Isaac. "Let's hurry and get this cerdo in the freezer. Cosa maldita cost me a lot of coins to get ya know."
Isaac rolled his eyes and began helping lift the pig. He begins to pick up the rear of the pig as the two begin taking it inside the cold freezer. Inside, there is an array of all sorts of different kinds of meat, vegetables, fruit, and barrels carrying rum.
After the captain had gotten his magical sword, he decided to have the children of Hephaestus help give him some new equipment for his ship. One that would make his ship the most dangerous and most powerful in all the sea. They didn't really have that many great ideas, so they stole whatever their sister Lyra had and used them. And took all the credit for making them.
They provided the ship with a freezer to help last their food for months than days or weeks like how it was preserved before. They also provided what is known as a stove and oven. These devices not only can help cook the food but can do it in a much better time and it is less likely for the food to be raw, which would risk getting the crew sick. And made the food taste better too when Raphael cooked them with his special ingredients.
The ship has other great features, which are powered by a special crystal that provides unlimited energy for the ship. Of course, Titus planned to use this for a special invention he's been working on but has decided to give up on it once he found where his father's trident is at.
Once the pig has been placed with the rest of the meat, Raphael took his clipboard that he keeps in the freezer and begins doing the last-minute inspection. All the while Isaac rubbed the sides of his arms to keep himself warm.
"Are we done yet?" Isaac asked as he shivered a little, but noticed Raphaël isn't even cold. "How are you not freezing?"
"First off, don't rush me. I need to make sure everything is written down so we know what we have and how much of it will last us through the trip," said Raphael as he writes down the supplies they have. "And secondly, I spend trapped in the artic for three months after my captain marooned me for refusing to feed him. I endured the cold though and survived battling against polar bears, walruses, and penguins."
"Penguins? You're kidding me?" Isaac asked as he didn't believe what the other said.
"Hey! They may look cute and innocent, but they're crafty little things. One time I built an igloo to keep myself and they ended up blocking my exit with an ice cube. It took me three days to get myself out before I starved to death," said Raphael as he told the other his story about his battles against the evil penguins.
"Right. These little flightless birds somehow trapped you. How dumb do you think I am?" Isaac asked before, suddenly the door closed behind them and the lock could be heard.
Raphael crossed his arms and rubbed his chin as he answered the other's question. "Dumb enough to forget to put the chair by the door like I told you?"
Isaac rushed to the door and tried to open it, but the iron door was locked up tight. And he couldn't get it loose. "The door didn't close by itself. Someone pushed it. Open the door, now!"
"Sorry Isaac, but I'm just here for a quick pick up and I'll be out. Thank you!" Isaac and Raphael heard the familiar girl voice coming from the other side of the door, causing the two to look at each other.
"It can't be," said Raphael who knew who that voice belonged to.
"It is," said Isaac as the two men tried to get the door open. "Gabriella, open this door now! Gabriella!"
On the other side of the door, Gabriella placed the lock on the door and made sure the two men couldn't open it. She was so lucky they went into this cold chamber room. It really became useful for her. She now has two of Titus' most loyal crew locked up here, leaving her with a clear opening to get to Ariel.
"I'm sure your captain will get you guys out once I'm done. Byeee!" Gabriella begins running out of the room and begins to close the door to the kitchen. She breaks the door handle and heads down to get to where she knows Ariel is kept.
She made her way down the hallway, turned left, ran down some more before turning right, and made her way towards the final door at the end of the hallway. She's thankful that Isaac kept his keys in his coat, which he left on the chair so it wouldn't get messy. She begins looking for the right key before putting it in the lock to begin opening the door.
On the other side of the door, Ariel is seen in her bed, looking out from the small viewport at the town they've arrived in. She was told by Noah and Naomi they'd arrived to York. Ariel had never been to York before, much less England. And even though she was seeing it while as a captive, it did look nice.
She just hopes when this is over, she'll be able to see her family again and come back here as a free woman.
She heard someone coming towards her door and figured they were coming to give her food. She had told Noah and Naomi she wasn't going to be hungry. She was not feeling well for some time and didn't want to throw up the delicious food their chef made for her. She's grateful for their kindness and treating her well, but she didn't want them to waste any food for her while she felt sick.
"I'm sorry, Isaac, but I'm not hungry," said Ariel as she kept her back to the door. "Please tell your chef I will eat his food once I feel better."
"They're a little busy at the moment, but we can always eat when we get you home," Ariel gasped when she heard the voice and turned around to see its Gabriella. "Hello Ms. Ariel. Are you ready to come home?"
"Gabriella?! What are you doing here?" Ariel asked as she jumped off the bed, looking confused, shocked, and in disbelief. "Wait. How did you get here? Is Eric here? Did they come for me?"
"Um I came to save you, got here on a ship, no he isn't here, and I think they're still trying to find you," said Gabriella as she answered Ariel's questions in the order she asked. "They don't know I'm here. And before you asked, your daughter broke me out of jail, we commandeered a ship, and we came to get you out of here."
"Melody is here?!" Ariel replied with more loudness in her voice. "Why is…what was she…does Eric…" Ariel is so confused with what is going on and couldn't believe her daughter is actually here to save her. Not that she's not grateful, but she's her daughter, and she shouldn't risk her life for her. "Wait…jail? What?"
Gabriella knew they didn't have a lot of time, so she rushed over and grabbed Ariel's hand. "Okay, going to answer all your questions, but while we're trying to escape, okay? Follow me."
Gabriella begins to take her out of the room and begins leading her to their exit, while she tells her everything.
"I'm the daughter of the pirate Jack Sparrow, I actually came to your kingdom to commandeer a ship to find my dad, I'm sorry that I lied, but I couldn't tell you because your dad is a pirate killer, and I was afraid he'd try killing me," Gabriella took in another deep breath and continued.
"Your dad did find out, so he and your husband Eric locked me up. Melody decided to free me though, while wanting to come with me to save you because she felt guilty you got captured. So, I brought her along, but I have her and Lapis in a safe place, while I came here to rescue you, bring you home, and reunite you with your family. Any other questions?"
Ariel was trying to keep up with everything Gabriella was telling her and was trying her best to process it all. Okay, she lied about who she really was, she got that part. Was she mad? A little, but she understood her reasons and she did risk her life for her family. So, she couldn't stay mad at her for it.
The part of her being locked up, okay yeah, she was mad at her father and Eric for doing such a thing to Gabriella. But she at the same time understood their reason. Just like she understood why Melody did what she did. It was likely that her father and Eric weren't going to get Gabriella to cooperate with them, but she figured Melody would be able to.
She's not happy with what she did, but she knew if the roles were reversed, she'd be the one making the same deal with Gabriella. At the very least she trusts that her daughter is safe and is nowhere near where Titus is at. But the part of her coming to rescue her and get her home. Ariel knew she couldn't do that.
Once they made it up the stairs and, on the deck, Ariel pulled her arm away. "Gabriella, stop!"
Gabriella looked confused about what Ariel is doing when she felt her pull away. "Ms. Ariel, what's wrong? I told you if you have any questions, you can tell me, but when we get a little safe distance from here."
"It's not that," Ariel replied as she sighed softly and crossed her arms over her chest. "Listen. I'm grateful for what you're doing. I am, but…I can't go with you. I have to stay."
Gabriella looked completely shocked and confused on what Ariel is saying. "I'm sorry, what? What are you talking about?" she then saw her looking over at where Titus' cabin is at, before she understood what's happening. "You made a deal, didn't you? If you did whatever they want, they wouldn't come after your family and home."
Ariel turned to the young girl and nodded in response. "If I go with you, then they will return and they will hurt everyone I love, including my people. I can't do that. I do appreciate what you're trying to do, I am…but I can't take the risk. I have to do this."
As Ariel prepared to walk back down below, Gabriella rushes over and grabs her hand. "Ms. Ariel please don't do it. If you're worried about them coming back, then I have a plan on how to give us time to be prepared. We just need to disable their rudder, get back to the ship, and…"
"And then what? Fight them?" Ariel asked before she clenched her fists and turned her head slightly to the left. "How many of my people died while fighting them? How many innocents did they hurt?"
Gabriella became silent after being asked that question. She didn't really get an actual number of how many people died when Titus attacked Tirulia. But she knew the numbers were high. And she knew even if they did get prepared, what is the likelihood those numbers wouldn't go higher?
Ariel took Gabriella's silence as her answer to her question. She turned to the young girl and moved her hand over to her face. "I'm grateful for what you did saving us back at the castle and for coming here to rescue me, but…I need to do this. I have to keep my word. If I do, then Titus will keep his."
Gabriella's expression and anger begin to flurry as she replied back to what Ariel said. "He won't keep his word, because he is without honor!" she replied while tears begin to form in her eyes, shocking the queen herself. "Y-You want to know why I know this? Because that bastard promised me if I gave him what he wanted, he would spare my best friend! But in the end, he…he…"
Gabriella begins to ball up her fists and her body begins to shake as she tried to wipe away her tears. Ariel stood there completely shocked with what Gabriella just told her and the revelation of her history with Titus.
Gabriella begins to tell her how she befriended an elderly old man on her grandpa's old ship and took him with her when she left. She ran away and formed her own crew, with her friend, Leo as her second-in-command. He was a priest, but he was a good man that she put her trust in and she looked to for guidance.
Then Titus' ship appeared and attacked them.
Most of her crew died, while the rest surrendered and joined Titus' crew. Titus then demanded a map that Gabriella had in her possession and in exchange, he'd spare Gabriella and Leo. Gabriella gave him what he wanted, but once he got what he was looking for, he killed Leo in front of her eyes.
"After that, he stranded me on an island to die. I only escaped because I had help from…another friend of mine and we escaped," said Gabriella as she finished explaining what happened to Ariel, who couldn't believe with what she was told.
Not only did Titus not keep his word, but he killed Gabriella's best friend and left her to die on an island. If he's willing to break his own promise, then what are the chances he'll do the same with their deal.
"Ms. Ariel," Gabriella began to speak while finishing wiping her tears away. "Please…don't do this. Please, just come with us. He won't keep his word. He'll kill you and then everyone you care about."
Ariel knew she had to make her choice here and now. If she goes with Gabriella, she can go home to see her family and friends. But she also risks Titus coming after them and destroying all she holds dear. But if she stays, there is no guarantee he will keep his word and risk losing everyone.
She knew she had to think this clearly and has to do it soon before…
Suddenly they hear someone clapping from nearby as the two women look up to see Titus standing on the bridge with a now freed Raphaël and Isaac, both shaking from being locked in the freezer.
"A fine speech, Gabriella. Very fine," said Titus as he finished clapping and begins removing his coat. "You left out a few key details to your story, but then again, you probably didn't know about them, so I can't blame you for getting it wrong."
Gabriella moved Ariel behind her and took out her sword as she stood ready to fight. All while Isaac and Raphaël took out their swords, before Titus motions for them to put their weapons away.
"No. I'm going to give her exactly what she wants," said Titus as he begins to climb over the railing and leaps off before gently landing on the ground, without making any noise. "I will give her the revenge she so desperately has been seeking."
Titus begins to pull his sword out as the magical weapon begins humming softly before the pirate captain himself points his weapon towards her. "Now then, Gabriella. Are you ready to finish what we started days ago?"
Gabriella motions for Ariel to take a few steps back before she moves her sword up in a defensive stance. "More like three years ago. Let's finish this, asshole."
That's the end of the chapter and it looks like we're getting Gabriella versus Titus round two…or rather round three if you count their first encounter from Gabby's story. Still, how will things go this time? Think she'll be able to beat Titus in his normal form and not his monster form?
Also, yeah, so, the whole stuff that they have on the ship. I figured that since Titus was looking to get a fancy sword, then surely, he would get some fancy stuff for his ship. Stuff that would help him keep one step ahead of his enemies and help him build the reputation that he has. And let's be honest, Lyra would likely have come up with all this stuff before they would have been invented.
We also saw Marina and her twin assassins meeting up with a leprechaun. I mean, come on. We just saw Attina and Urchin meeting a lot of Greek Mythological creatures. So, having a leprechaun on here shouldn't surprise anyone.
I mean hell, there's an episode where dinosaurs appeared in the Little Mermaid series and how they somehow could breathe underwater. So, nothing I throw on here should surprise anyone. Though I will try to avoid going way too far with what I'm throwing it…I make no promises though.
Anyways, how will things go between Gabriella and Titus in their fight? Will Ariel end up staying or going? Will the British forces arriving to York cause a lot of chaos? And how will things go as our heroes look to finish with their mission?
Tune in next time to find out & thank you all for the support for my friend. He appreciates all the support for his story and if you like how this chapter went, then please leave some reviews. Just nothing negative please. See you all next time, take good care, and have a good day.
