A/N: It's been a week y'all.

Please please leave feedback if you enjoyed, I love hearing your thoughts!

It was after nine when JJ finally woke up the next morning. For someone who had spent most of the last few years of her life waking up at 5:30 every single morning, a 9am sleep-in felt amazing.

Rolling onto her back, she took a minute to fully wake up, lavishing in the comfort of her own bed. As much as she had loved being at the Olympics, she really was so glad to be home. Her own sheets, the familiar smell of her mom's fabric softener, all her trinkets and memories gazing at her from around the room.

Opposite her bed, her newest prizes glinted from the second shelf of her display cabinet. Two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Easily her greatest achievements to date. Even as she lay there with her eyes wandering over the medals, part of her still couldn't believe it was real.

She was also still reeling from what had happened when she'd come home. Sure, she had been gearing herself up to tell Will how she felt, but she never would have guessed that he would eagerly reciprocate those feelings, let alone make the first move.

Turning her head towards her nightstand, she stared absently at her phone. Her stomach seemed to turn over as she wondered whether Will was going to have second thoughts in the light of a new day. Surely he couldn't have been serious when he said he'd had feelings for her since they were just kids.

But Will had never lied to her. He was her best friend, and she knew she could always count on him to be real with her. She closed her eyes, forcing herself to take a deep breath. It was all going to work out. She couldn't over think it. She just had to let it happen however it was going to happen.

"Rise and shine sleepyhead! A new day awaits!" came the dramatic crow of her dad's voice as her bedroom door burst open. Michael leapt into the room, posing as if he was a knight coming out of battle, and JJ couldn't help but laugh as she pushed herself up.

"You're a little too excited to have me home," she teased, throwing the covers back and swinging her legs over the edge of the bed.

"Come on peanut, I've got a breakfast of champions going downstairs. Pancakes and waffles. Ice-cream if you want it," Michael chuckled, beckoning for her to follow him. JJ groaned in mock pain, laughing weakly.

"That makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it, Dad"

"You just finished up competing at the Olympics. You're allowed to treat yourself," Michael said as they made their way out of her room and started down the stairs.

"To a diabetic coma?"

"I second that Michael, are you trying to make her sick?" Sandy said as they reached the bottom of the stairs. A smile played around her lips, indicating she was going to let her husband go along with whatever he had planned. The teasing and laughter continued as they reached the kitchen, JJ helping herself to a plate for breakfast before joining her parents at the table.

"So how long do we have you before you take off again?" Sandy asked as JJ dug into her pancakes. "Jason and Katie are coming up for the week, so I guess they'll only get you for a couple of days?"

"I fly to Cali on Friday afternoon. Aly's flying down here on Friday morning and we're going together," JJ replied.

"Are you going to hang out with Will before you go?"

JJ looked up, frowning as she swallowed a mouthful, her heart suddenly hammering in her chest. "Um… probably? I don't know"

"You should probably make some time to see him before you disappear for two months," Sandy smirked.

"I saw him yesterday Mom"

"I'm just saying!"

JJ rolled her eyes, grinning as she turned back to her breakfast.

A few hours later, Jason and Katie had arrived, and the house felt busy, more full of life than it had felt in years. Even though her family was loud, happy, and energetic, having only three people in such a big house could at times get a little lonely.

"So," came Katie's voice as JJ stood at the edge of her bed unpacking her bag. "Glad to be home?"

"Yeah. I'm actually kinda bummed that I'm going on tour. I'm only home for three days"

"You're gonna have so much fun on the tour though. Eight weeks travelling the country with some of your best friends? I would have killed for that at your age," Katie chuckled, coming to sit on the edge of JJ's bed. JJ grinned, dropping a folded shirt into the bag she was packing for tour.

"Yeah, we also have to rehearse and perform almost every day"

"Think of it as being like Katy Perry. If Katy Perry did flips," Katie laughed. JJ shook her head, still grinning at her sister-in-law as she tossed some clothes from her London bag into her laundry hamper.

"How's Will?" Katie asked after a few moments of silence. JJ looked up, one of her eyebrows quirking as she took in her sister-in-law's cheeky grin.

"He's… fine?"

"I'm not trying to stir you up, JJ, I promise," Katie said gently as JJ finally came to sit beside her. "I just… that conversation we had back in London kept playing through my head. You sounded so overwhelmed, and I remember how it feels to really and truly like someone romantically for the first time"

"We kissed," JJ blurted out, barely a second after Katie finished speaking. "Yesterday, when I got home… he kissed me"

Katie broke into a wide smile. "He did?"

"Yeah… said he's had feelings for me basically as long as he's known me," JJ said softly. "We're… we haven't made anything official, or decided what this even is… but we're going to talk. When I get home from the tour"

"Now I'm understanding why you don't want to go," Katie teased gently, nudging JJ with her shoulder. "But that's great, JJ. I'm guessing you haven't told anyone else about this yet?"

JJ shook her head. "No, I… I want to work out what this is first. Also I feel like my mom and dad would just tease me about it"

Katie laughed, draping an arm around JJ's shoulders. "They're parents, it's in their job description"

"But even with so much unknown… I feel so happy. All the worrying from London, the feeling of being overwhelmed by my own feelings… it's all gone. And I know we haven't defined it or discussed it, but I feel good about it. Like it's gonna work out"

Beaming, Katie gave her a quick squeeze. "Of course it will. You guys have amazing chemistry. And you know what? You're gonna go off and have an amazing time on this tour, and then you're going to come home and enjoy getting to be a normal teenage girl for once in your life. And JJ, you know that you can always talk to me. About anything. If you want to talk about this while you're away, you just have to message me"

JJ smiled, tipping her head onto Katie's shoulder. "I know. Thanks Katie"

"Any time"
