A/N: It feels like it's been forever since I posted, but it's only been a month! A lot has happened. I started taking anxiety medication (not long after I last posted) and that completely knocked me on my ass while I adjusted to it. I'm only just coming really good now! And I also went on a date with a guy I've been talking to since April, and he's really sweet. Have to see where it goes. Maybe I've found my own version of Will? We can only hope haha.

This is just a short little filler chapter to tide you guys over, but I hope you enjoy it until I get the next one going!

"Marta has asked for you to attend the March camp if we feel you're ready. She's not expecting full routines from you, I explained to her the training plan we've put in place, but she thought it would be nice for you to get back in the swing of things, meet the new girls, and show her what skills you've been working on," Nick explained from his perch on the low beam while JJ worked on her flexibility on the floor.

"The other thing I want to discuss... I know I vaguely talked which events we're going to be working with you on for this season, but I had a bit of an in-depth review of what we're going to do with your routines for now"

Taking a breath, he flicked through his notes.

"We'll keep your bars relatively the same, we'll just adjust it to the new code. Your bars difficulty was fairly average last season, but despite your bronze medal, I know you are capable of hitting that routine every time without fail. So we aren't going to change the routine, we're just going to drill it until you can do it in your sleep"

Glancing down once more, Nick smiled. "You're going to get a new floor routine as well"

JJ beamed with excitement. "Really? Can I pick my new music?"

Nick nodded. "If there's something you want to perform to, by all means, bring it in and Dominic will work with it. We're also going to rework your tumbles. I think you're capable of more, but we won't upgrade this year; we might change some around a bit because to me, the way your tumbling is constructed right now feels a little clunky, I think we can get it looking a lot smoother"

JJ nodded in agreement.

"And as for beam, well, that's your pet event. If you want to go hard or go home on beam, that's your decision, but you've been struggling with the layout full in training... I watched you miss that five times yesterday. But you're nailing a layout. So it might be best to stick with a layout until you get your competition legs back and then we can upgrade it when you're ready," Nick said gently. JJ nodded again. She had been especially frustrated the day before when time after time, she had missed the layout full and landed on the floor, or worse, nailed herself in the ribs as she hit the side of the beam on the way down. She knew it was probably a simple matter of relearning it with the couple of inches she had gained in height, but as her signature skill she had never missed, it was frustrating not being able to do it.

"As for vault... I think domestically we should keep you in the all-around. But for worlds this year, we'll focus on your other three events since it's not a team worlds. If you're going well and tracking to make an all-around final, then fantastic, that's an added bonus. But it's not worth the extra stress this year, and if something is coming apart on another event, we'll need to focus on that even more. Ok?"

"Sounds good to me," JJ said with a smile. "I'm happy to go to camp if you think I'm ready. I miss the other girls"

"I know you do kiddo, and I thought Marta was on the right track. Seeing them might help you keep that competitive spirit up as well"

Slowing his pace as he reached the end of his driveway, Will let out a few heavy pants as he tried to catch his breath. He hadn't been getting out for a run anywhere near as often as usual throughout the winter, and his stamina was definitely not where he liked it to be.

He clicked a button to light up his phone, a picture of him and JJ greeting him as he did. He broke into a smile, his gaze lingering on the screen as he walked towards the front door. They had both been especially busy this week, with JJ now back in full-time training and Will splitting time between college work, exercise, and working at the country club. Even though it had been only a little over a week since that romantic Valentine's night together, he felt like he hadn't seen her in ages, and he was missing her.

Letting himself into the house, he pulled his ear buds from his ears and made his way up the stairs. As he did, his phone buzzed in his hand, JJ's name lighting up the screen.

"Hey you," he answered with a smile. "I was just thinkin' about you"

"Oh yeah? What were you doing?"

Will chuckled at the flirtatious tone in her voice. "I wish it was more excitin' than finishin' a run, but that's where I was"

JJ laughed. "Damn. I was hoping for something good"

"You just finished training?"

"Yeah. I'm off all afternoon and tomorrow, do you wanna hang out? We could go out for dinner"

Will smiled. "That sounds great. Do you wanna stay at mine?"

"Well... I was thinking you could stay at mine... my parents are in Philly for the weekend visiting friends... and it's pretty lonely when it's just me," JJ said flirtatiously. Will laughed.

"Sure you don't just want me in your bed?"

"Well that too," JJ said with a laugh.

"Alright. I'll have a shower and I'll head your way. Have a think about what you want for dinner because I'm not playing the 'I don't care' game with you again"

"Ok," JJ giggled. "I'll see you soon. I love you"

"I love you too Jayje"
