As mentioned, I'm restraining myself from uploading too frequently. This chapter has been sitting in my document manager for several days already. I'm currently working on the next chapter and it's almost done as well. I tried my best to write more sophisticatedly but sometimes it's really difficult when the number of words that I know is limited.
Anyway, hope you enjoy!
The past few days had been depressing, especially for the trio. Harry had been hearing a voice saying it was going to kill, and on the day of the Halloween Feast, the voice had led them to the exact location where Mrs Norris, Filch's cat, was Petrified and hung on the wall. Below Mrs Norris, a blood-like crimson message was written on the wall, saying "THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE". Needless to say, it had stirred up anxiety among the whole school, especially for the muggle-borns.
As for Hermione, she went straight to the library for some 'light' reading about the Chamber of Secrets. With no luck finding anything related, she raised the question during the History of Magic lesson. Her query had definitely added some brightness to the dullest lesson, but Professor Binns' answer only made the situation more depressing.
Slytherin, according to the legend, sealed the Chamber of Secrets so that none would be able to open it until his own true heir arrived at the school. The heir alone would be able to unseal the Chamber of Secrets, unleash the horror within, and use it to purge the school of all who were unworthy to study magic.
"Who would be the heir of Slytherin?" Hermione said as the trio discussed the matter in a quiet hallway.
"Who do we know who thinks Muggle-borns are scum?" Ron mocked.
The boys turned to Hermione, only to find her puzzled. "If you're talking about Malfoy-"
"Of course I am!" Ron exclaimed. "He just publicly called you a Mudblood. Not to mention his family history with the Slytherin House. He could easily be the heir of Slytherin."
Hermione was unconvinced. If Draco really was the heir of Slytherin, she wouldn't have made it last year. He could've easily killed her in the Forbidden Forest, or just left her to die to the troll or the Bludger. On the other hand, it was also possible that Draco was waiting for the right moment and he chose to open the Chamber of Secrets this year instead of the last. However, since she had no proof whether Draco was guilty or not, she decided it was best to keep her thoughts to herself, at least for the time being.
"Well, we have to prove it. But how?" Harry cut in.
Hermione, still sceptical about their theory, had a very dangerous, and 50-school-rules-breaking method in mind. She proposed doing some research before telling them the actual plan. They decided to discuss their plan after the Quidditch match, which was happening the next day.
"Are you serious Malfoy?" Flint couldn't believe what Draco had just told them.
"I left it in my room," Draco said as he tightened his grip on the old racing broom. The game was starting in a few minutes and there wasn't enough time for him to get his Nimbus 2001. "It's fine. I'll just use the backup."
He did actually leave his broom - but on purpose. He could've won this match effortlessly with his new broom, but he had let his stupid ego get the better of him. If he could catch the golden snitch with a lesser broom, he could show everyone that he got on the team on pure talent, just like Harry Potter. He confessed that a certain someone's opinion played a rather huge part in this foolish idea. With her words and her bossy voice still rang in his ears, and he couldn't wait to see her face when he beat her best friend fair and square.
As Draco entered the field with his team, the excitement of realisation overwhelmed him. He was the seeker of the house team. His dream had come true. He rode onto his broom and flew into the air to take in the whole view. Roaring cheers from students echoed around the field. His parents were watching from one of the towers. He could tell his father was not pleased by his choice of broom, but the joyous smile from his mother warmed his heart. As he scanned through the crowd, he saw Hermione with the redhead. They were looking at him puzzled and discussing intensely. He couldn't help but smirk as the competition began.
"Someone's tampered with the Bludger!" Hagrid exclaimed. A rogue bludger had been chasing only at Harry and he had no choice but to fly around the field to dodge it.
"First the brooms, and now a raging Bludger? Dirty Slytherins." Ron pulled out his wand and said, "I'll stop it-"
"No!" Hermione immediately slammed his wand away. "Even with a proper wand, it's very dangerous. You could hit Harry."
They watched in clutch as Harry dodged the Bludger again with a sharp turn. The Bludger didn't make the turn, instead slamming through the wooden watchtowers and damaging the pitch. Another goal hit from Gryffindor, scoring 90-30.
"At least we are ahead. With Malfoy's stupid mistake, we might still win this even without the Golden Snitch," Ron exclaimed. The extra training had paid off. Despite the broom disadvantage, Gryffindor had a huge leading gap.
Draco was desperate. Their team was losing under the Gryffidors' fierce attack. The only way to win the match was for Draco to catch the Golden Snitch. With the two teams competing and the crowds cheering around the field, his senses were overwhelmed and his task became much more difficult than he had anticipated. Draco started to regret his stupid decision. Racing against a Nimbus 2000 didn't sound winnable. He watched as Harry zoomed around the field with the Bludger following closely behind. At least he got some dumb luck to have the bloody Bludger on his side.
The crowd went wild when the two seekers chased the Golden Snitch head-to-head. The rogue Bludger was still chasing behind them, causing havoc everywhere it went.
Their chase continued as they travelled down the scaffolding between the field and the watchtower. Harry and Draco were speeding through the gaps while bumping into each other. Draco soon realised catching the Golden Snitch was not the only goal, but also surviving from the rogue Bludger. "Got yourselves a crazy fan, Potter!" Draco shouted as he dodged a swing from the Bludger.
"Call it off, Malfoy!" Harry shouted back.
"What? I didn't-"
Another dash from the Bludger almost caught them off guard and the Golden Snitch had escaped the scaffolding back into the open field.
Seeing an opening, Draco sped up and made a sharp turn towards the Golden Snitch. Harry wanted to follow but he was blocked by a pillar. He tried to catch up and reach for the Golden Snitch as well. But he was too late, Draco had caught it firmly in his hand.
"Draco Malfoy caught the Golden Snitch! 150 points to Slytherin! Slytherin wins!"
The roaring crowd flooded the entire field. Draco looked at the Golden Snitch in his palm and joy ran through his body. He did it. He won his first Quidditch.
But the celebration didn't last long. Still floating in the air next to Harry, Draco noticed the Bludger was coming at them from Harry's behind and everyone else was too busy to notice.
"Potter!"
It was already too late when Harry turned to see rogue Bludger. His instinct kicked in and he blocked it with his arm guard, but he was no match for the aggressive attack. The Bludger sent him off his broom, knocking Draco off as well. Everything happened in seconds and no one was quick enough to break their fall. Everyone gasped as both of them fell to the grass field and lay in excruciating pain.

Quick update. I might be on hold uploading the next chapter. I'm currently searching for a beta reader. I feel like having a beta reader can help improve my writing and give a better story. I would like to give some time to wait for any reply.
Thanks for your support!
