Author's note: I wish I could add plot music or reaction images. I keep running into a facial expression in my head that I have no way of wording. Dean (in the show) has a ton of facial expressions that he uses and I love them. There is the frown/eye brow raise thing that means "well they have a point" and yeah.. I'd add all the gifs if I could. I've been leaving little angel clues laying about and hope I haven't lost anyone. Some times the plot makes total sense to me until I go back and read what I wrote.

"It has been a week and nothing new has happened. You can't keep us locked in the house." Kate whined.
Dean brought a case of water inside. "You vanished with Sam right in front of you. It may have been the nice angel that took you but if it can, then the not so nice ones can."
Kate looked out the window. "I'd rather be kidnapped by rogue angels than stuck inside the house."
Dean pointed at the table. "Sit."
Kate rolled her eyes. "Dean, we could at least go outside. We weren't taken from the yard here."
"You will be able to but Bobby is still trying to figure out what is keeping those things out. Once we figure it out, it will be safer for you to leave the house." Dean said. He turned to put some of the groceries away and regain some of his patience.
Kate closed her eyes. She couldn't use her abilities but if the thing was an angel maybe she could pray.
Dean jumped and drew his weapon when the blinds on the windows snapped closed. He spun around to Kate. "What the hell was that?"
Kate unclasped her hands and slid her chair back.
"What did you do?" Dean asked as he put his weapon away.
"I think you'll find this amusing if you just.. stop getting closer to me." She said apprehensively.
Dean stopped. "What did you do, Katelyn?"
Kate grinned sheepishly. "I didn't use an ability so don't look at me like that."
Dean pinched the bridge of his nose. "Either start talking or I come over there."
Kate backed up. "I prayed."
"You what? You prayed?" Dean was dumbfounded.
"Well if we have a guardian angel, I figured prayer would work." Kate said.
"What were you trying to do?" Dean asked and rubbed his forehead.
Kate wrung her hands. "I asked it to give me a sign if it was safe to go outside because I thought you were over reacting."
Dean smirked. "And it slammed every set of blinds in the house?"
Kate shrugged. "It appears so."
Dean chuckled. "I do find that amusing. However, that is a new level of sneaky."
"Prayer isn't harmful. I weighed my options and it agrees with you." Kate said in her defense.
"What was your plan if you didn't get your sign?" Dean asked and crossed his arms.
"To stay inside, of course." Kate said.
Dean shook his head. "Call the others in here."
Kate left to round up the forces.
"Kate here sent up a prayer to the Grigori and this is the answer." He said and motioned toward the windows.
"I didn't think you were the praying type." Bobby said.
Kate blushed. "I am tired of being inside and I asked it if it was safe to go outside. It seems like the answer is no."
Taylor raised the blinds in the kitchen. "So we can pray to it?"
Kate thought for a moment. "If it can hear me and shut blinds like that then nothing is keeping them out of the house and it is safe. So we can go outside as long as we stay around the house."
Bobby put his hand on her shoulder. "If you need a clearer sign and my house is damaged in the process, I'm not going to be happy."
Kate threw up her hands. "I'm going to die in here."
Taylor thought she was dramatic. "There are worse places to be trapped."
Kate started to ask where but saw his face. "She hasn't called?"
Taylor shook his head. "I got a few messages but that is it."
Kate hugged him. "I'm sorry."
Taylor was hurt that his mom didn't seem set on him going back home but was also glad. He was bitter. He talked to his grandmother and at least she cared. "I talked to my nana though. She is going to look through family stuff."
"Does she know?" Kate asked.
"About the angel stuff? No. About my dad? Yes. I'd repeat what she said but there are angels listening." Taylor said.
Bobby chuckled. "I think I like your nana."
"Are you going to tell her the rest?" Kate asked.
Taylor shrugged. "Maybe not yet. It seems like people's lives get complicated once they learn about this stuff."
Kate felt guilty for roping Hannah and Taylor into the life.
Sam understood why Kate felt trapped and wanted to help. "Do either of you want to help me go through boxes?"
Kate sighed. "What else is there to do?"
Sam put his arm around her and walked down to the basement with her. "You may want to stop picking fights with Dean."
Kate sat down next to a box. "I'm not picking fights."
Sam smirked. "You are riling him up because you are bored and going stir crazy."
Kate frowned. "I'm not trying to. I just want out."
"I know. I was never good at waiting around either. I have also picked a few fights and lost miserably." Sam said.
"Now you are so wise." Kate said with an eyeroll.
"Wiser than I used to be. I bet if you ask he will let you do some tests." Sam said.
Kate perked up. "What kind of test."
"Come up with some. We can't get down to the lab but I'm curious to know if your blood is different than mine. You are stuck inside so now would be a good time to figure out some of your psychic stuff." Sam said.
Kate opened the box. "He will say no if it is my idea."
Sam laughed. "If he does it will be because of your attitude."
Kate crinkled her nose. "I think at midnight on your 18th birthday you go from cool person to boring adult."
Sam smiled. "In a few years, when you turn eighteen, let me know if that happens to you."
Kate thought that eighteen was forever away. She would be a helpless kid forever. She pulled items out of the box and sorted them. "Here is a vcr tape. I wonder what is on it."
Sam took it. "I don't know. We can ask Bobby."
The rest of the box was mainly junk. She found old cords that went to nothing and batteries that were probably dead. They worked on boxes for two hours before Sam announced the need for a break.
Kate handed the tape to Bobby. "What is this?"
Bobby pulled it out of the sleeve and turned it over. "Old home movie I suppose."
"Why was it in a box with a bunch of junk?" Kate asked.
"It could have gotten tossed in there to be thrown out." Bobby said. He went to the living room and put the tape in the vcr. He hit rewind and let the tape roll until it clicked. "Let's see what is on here."
Dean leaned against the doorway. "Hopefully not one of those types of home movies."
Bobby threw the remote at Dean. "Idjit."
"What kind of movie?" Kate asked.
Bobby shook his head. "Dean thinks he is funny."
Kate shrugged and turned back to the TV.
A blurry image appeared on the screen and crackled before the video appeared. It was outside and the place was crowded. The videographer focused in on two kids playing in a dirt pile.
"Who is that?" Kate asked.
Bobby smiled. "Sam."
Video Sam looked up and grinned. "Unca Bobby!"
Kate smiled. "I didn't know Sam was a chunky kid."
Sam shoved her. "It is called baby fat and it was just the cheeks."
Dean watched silently. He had no memory of what he was seeing.
Video Sam wrapped his arms around Bobby's leg and ran back over to the dirt.
"Where is Dean?" Kate asked before laughing. "Of course." Video Dean was off to the side chatting up some other elementary aged girl.
Dean smirked.
Bobby paused the video. "I suspect you two were about 5 and 9 then."
Dean walked into the room. "Why have we never seen this?"
Bobby shrugged.
They watched the home video and teased the boys about things they did. The video focused on Dean as he showed off on the monkey bars. Suddenly video Bobby turned the camera toward Sam who was talking to a man. "Sammy, come back over here." Bobby's voice said. Video Dean ran and grabbed Sam and pulled him away. Dean fussed at Sam as he drug him back to the dirt pile.
"You've been a pain in my ass for years, Sammy." Dean said with a chuckle.
Sam rolled his eyes.
Kate jumped up. "Wait! Rewind that." She stood by the tv and shouted. "There!" As Dean was dragging Sam away, Sam waved at the man and the man waved back. He stood up and his eyes flashed yellow before he turned away.
"Is that.." Sam couldn't finish his sentence.
"Yellow eyed bastard." Dean growled.
Bobby played the rest of the video but nothing else seemed out of sorts.
"Son of a bitch was that close to Sam and we had no idea." Dean said.
Bobby rubbed the back of his neck. "I don't remember that."
Taylor was quiet through the whole video. "How long has that been in the basement?"
Bobby wiped dust from the box. "I'd say at least ten years."
"It is as if the video was put in that box for a reason." Taylor said.
Bobby sighed. "I didn't know what was on it."
"I just find it odd that the one box that the first box that Kate opened had one random video tape that captured that shot." Taylor said.
Dean chewed his cheek. "Gregory?"
"It is called a Grigori, Dean." Kate said.
"I know but might as well give the dude a name." Dean said.
Kate shrugged. "Why would Gregory want us to see that? We already know that the yellow eyed demon has connections with us."
"Unless that is why we can't go outside." Taylor said.
Kate shook her head. "He is a demon. He can't get through the warding outside."
"It is easier to mess with outside warding than it is to break into this house." Dean said.
Kate rested her head on the table. "Gregory, if you are out there, help would be appreciated."
Dean looked around the room. "Maybe he doesn't like the name."
Kate rolled her eyes. "Maybe she's a girl."
"Sam and I will go check the warding." Dean said.
Kate gasped. "Wait. Here." She grabbed Dean's arm and carefully drew a pentagram with fire around it.
"What is that?" Dean asked.
"Anti-possession symbol." Kate said.
Dean nodded for Sam to get inked as well. "You are sure that this is correct?"
Kate shrugged. "I'm going to douse you in holy water either way but it is worth a shot."
The boys left to check the perimeter.
"Bobby, can you look up anti-possession symbols?" Kate asked.
"Sure. What do you have in mind?"
"I am certain that was correct but would want to make sure. If you can make bracelets with that symbol and it protect you from becoming possessed, wouldn't it work as a tattoo too?" Kate asked.
Bobby grabbed a book and brought it to the kitchen. "In theory it could but I don't know if the symbol has to be made from a certain type of metal."
"If it works, I want one." Kate said with a grin.
Taylor furrowed his brows. "I don't think we can. It would just heal."
Kate frowned. "Well there goes my plan for a tramp stamp when I'm older."
Bobby choked. "Good thing Dean is outside and didn't hear that. You are trying to give him a heart attack."
Kate grinned. "I was going to get a fake one when I turn 13. Just to bug him."
"You have that type of prank planned out two years in advance?" Taylor asked.
Kate nodded. "Yep. I have a few."
Taylor smiled. "What are they?"
Kate pulled a face. "I'm not telling you. I know where your loyalties are."
Taylor shrugged. "I see how it is."
Sam redrew a sigil and checked the next one. "Do you think that the warning was due to the yellow eyed demon?"
Dean sighed. "I don't know but it is better to be safe than sorry."
"I wonder how many times he got to me." Sam said.
Dean swallowed hard. "I don't want to think about it."
"You can't protect me from everything." Sam said.
Dean stopped and looked at him. "I'm realizing that but I've done my best."
Sam nodded. "You did. Me going off to college has nothing to do with you."
Dean drew his knife out and refreshed a sigil. "I didn't say anything about college."
"You haven't said much about it at all. I know you aren't happy." Sam pushed.
Dean turned and walked down the trail.
"Dean." Sam called.
Dean stopped and spun around. "I'm happy for you."
"But?"
"You are an adult, you are right but I have spent my entire life protecting you. It bothers me that you will be out there alone. We are a team. You are leaving me with Kate, who I have no idea what to do with." Dean finally spilled.
"You do great with her." Sam said.
"I am barely handling it. Add Taylor into the mix and what could be angels." Dean said.
Sam sat down on a fallen log. "I can stay."
Dean groaned. "No. You need to go do your thing. I can handle all of this."
Sam watched Dean pace. "You are scared."
"Damn straight I'm scared. How do I keep these kids alive when I have no clue what is going on?" Dean exclaimed.
"Keep doing what you are doing." Sam said.
Dean started back down the path to check the warding. "I don't know what I'm doing."
Sam found this side of Dean interesting. He at least acted like he knew what he was doing at all times. "It isn't your job to save everyone. Delegate."
Dean turned back around. "She is depending on me."
Sam knew Dean's sense of duty would over ride anything he said. "I will be in California, not Greece. If you need me I'll be there."
Dean stared off into the distance. "I know."
Sam followed him down the path and checked all of the sigils, warding and symbols. "Maybe we misunderstood the blinds."
Dean looked around his feet. "Maybe but a few of these were on the weaker side. I feel dirty having this thing watch us."
Sam smirked. "Doing non-angel friendly things?"
Dean rolled his eyes. "Big brother can keep his opinions to himself." Dean crouched down and ran his fingers along the dirt. "Something has been over here. I just don't know what."
"Could just be an animal." Sam said.
Dean poked the ground with a stick. "We should be on high alert either way."
They walked back to the house and told Bobby that everything was intact.
"So we can go outside now?" Kate asked.
Dean sighed. "Just wait, okay?"
"I have been waiting." Kate said.
"We just went over this." Dean said.
Sam cleared his throat. "While we are all inside, they could try out a few of their abilities. I'd also be interested to see if their blood reacts differently than ours."
Dean eyed him. "How do you plan on doing that?"
Sam grabbed a box from the basement.
"Sam, that is a toy." Dean said.
Sam held up the microscope. "It is but it works just like the real version. I mean, it is real. It just doesn't zoom in as much." He gave Dean a look before flicking his eyes towards Kate.
"Fine. You three can do your geek thing." Dean said.
Bobby nodded that he was okay with it as well.
Kate grinned and took the box from Sam. She loved science and it was a welcome distraction. "Ew. What is this?"
Sam looked at one of the slides. "Some kind of bug." He said. "It has been a long time since I used this. I was probably about your age."
Kate looked through the slides and notes that had been tucked in with the microscope. She liked having that connection with a younger Sam. She cleaned the slides and set a few to the side for their own use. "This bug has to go."
"You draw the line at bugs?" Taylor asked.
Kate cringed. "Yes and if you do anything with that information I can and will hurt you."
Taylor grinned. "Noted."
Kate pulled her knife out.
"Whoa. There is no need to slice yourself." Sam said.
Kate rolled her eyes. "I'll heal."
He dug around in another box and found lancets.
"Why do you have those? You aren't diabetic." Kate asked Bobby.
Bobby shrugged. "I don't know why I have half the stuff in this house."
Sam smiled. "I think I grabbed them one day for times like this."
Kate held her hand out. "Stab me."
Sam chuckled but pricked her finger and let the blood drop onto the slide. "Who is next?"
Taylor held his out too.
Kate grabbed Dean's hand.
"Why do you need mine?" Dean grumbled.
Kate smiled. "For science."
Dean let her prick his finger and make a slide with his name on it. "What are we expecting from this experiment?"
Sam shrugged. "No idea."
Kate looked at hers under the microscope. "Hand me yours." She said to Dean. She put his under the light and chewed her lip. "I need to redo mine."
"Why?" Sam asked and looked at it.
"It is dirty." Kate said.
Sam held it up to the kitchen light. "The glass is clean."
Kate looked at Sam's and then Taylors. She sat back in the chair with a confused look on her face.
"What is wrong?" Sam asked.
"Look at all four of those." She said.
Sam did and shrugged. "They look the same to me."
Taylor looked as well. "I can see a difference."
Dean nudged him to the side. "What kind of difference am I supposed to be seeing."
"You really don't see the dust?" Kate asked.
Dean shook his head. "No, they all look the same."
"So only we can see it." Taylor said.
Kate nodded. "It looks like there are dust flecks mixed in but just mine and Taylor's."
Dean gasped. "Oh no, you have dusty blood."
Kate tried to punch him. "Sarcasm isn't cute."
Dean jumped back. "So what does dust mean?"
Sam was quiet and deep in thought. "It means that they have something extra that we don't."
"If it was just Dean I'd say a brain cell or two." Kate said under her breath.
Dean grabbed her and put her in a head lock. "That isn't nice."
Kate wiggled free. "You aren't nice."
Taylor looked back at the samples. "Maybe those flecks are what heals us."
Kate stopped fighting with Dean. "That could be it. I wonder if we can heal others though."
Dean stepped back. "Don't look at me like that. I'm not a guinea pig."
Bobby had been quietly drinking his coffee. "I'm going to call my friend at the lab. I'd like to look more into this but don't want you stabbing each other."
"That is the fun part." Kate said.
Bobby ruffled her hair. "We do this the right way or we don't do it."
Kate sat down and propped her feet on another chair. "Can we do ability tests?"
Dean pushed her feet off the chair and sat down. "What kind?"
Kate put her feet on his legs. "I don't know. It would be cool to set stuff on fire."
Dean chuckled. "That is a hard no."
Kate rolled her eyes. "Turn stuff into pie?"
Dean smirked. "That one I could get behind. Why don't you explain to Taylor how things work with things you already know you can do."
Kate looked over at Taylor. "Is that good with you?"
Taylor nodded. "Yes. I don't know if I have the same things you do. I don't think mine are that strong."
Kate took Taylor's hand. "Close your eyes and visualize yourself in a room. There are doors. Each door goes to a specific place. When I first started doing this I didn't have control over it. Focus on where you want to go or who you want to see. Can you open a door?"
Taylor held his head. "I don't think so."
"Keep focusing." Kate said.
"Here, come with me." Kate said.
Taylor looked around. "Is this a vision?"
"Yep, I pulled you in." Kate said.
"Do they know? Are they going to get mad?" Taylor asked.
"Sam can pull me out if he needs to. I'm trying to show you how to do this." Kate answered.
Taylor swallowed. "Okay, now what?"
"This is how I search my memory." She opened a door and walked through. "It gets easier with practice. This is the day that I got left here."
Taylor frowned. "Why this day? Isn't it sad?"
Kate nodded. "It is in a way. Strong emotions create a better connection. Plus, we are in the house so it is easier."
Taylor watched a vehicle pull into the drive way and the events of the day play out. "You looked scared."
Kate giggled. "Well yeah, my dad was dropping me off with someone I barely knew and didn't really tell me why."
Taylor felt like he was watching a movie. "Sam and Dean seem to have taken to you pretty quickly."
Kate sat on the porch and watched as they greeted a younger version of herself. "They did. It is weird seeing it from this point of view. This feels like it was ages ago but I guess it has been a couple years at most." She swept the memory away. "This is on the playground so you should remember this too."
Taylor laughed. "Oh no. When you showed me your leg and I got nervous."
Kate smiled. "Yep. You might be able to take over since this is shared."
Taylor tried to focus and change the view but couldn't. "Maybe I don't have this ability."
Kate opened her eyes and pulled Taylor out. "You may not have it or you may need practice."
"No luck?" Dean asked.
Taylor shook his head. "I can't control it but it was cool to see."
Dean thought that the lack of an ability would be a good thing. "Anything else you want to try out?"
"Can you compel?" Kate asked.
Taylor shrugged. "I don't know."
Kate explained how to do it.
"That requires a lot of thought. I thought it was a knee jerk thing." Dean said in a low tone.
Kate's eyes got big. "It is less complicated than it sounds and that was a reflex." She said, referring to the time that she had compelled Bobby and Sam.
Taylor was disheartened.
"Don't be sad. It took me a long time to figure this stuff out." Kate said.
Taylor gave her a smile. "Do the headaches get better?"
Kate nodded. "Yes. If I push myself I get a headache but not like I used to."
Taylor pushed himself back from the table. "I'm exhausted."
Bobby told him to go rest and he and Kate would whip up some food.
Taylor took the offer and sprawled out on his bed.
Kate looked around the kitchen for some type of food to make. "You know, if we cook ahead of time we can make this easier."
Bobby chuckled. "What do you have in mind?"
"If we plan out certain meals, we can cook ahead of time and freeze it so someone can just toss it in the oven and make the sides." Kate said.
Bobby leaned against the counter. "Alright, that isn't a bad idea. Ask the boys for ideas."
Kate went to find Sam and Dean. They were sitting on the porch talking. Kate touched the door knob but didn't open it. The window was cracked and she could hear the conversation.
"That sounds great in theory but in practice I don't know if I can trust them or not." Dean said.
Sam let the sun warm his face. "You won't know until you give it a try."
"This isn't something I'm willing to take chances with." Dean responded.
"So just take Kate with you and see how she does." Sam encouraged him.
Kate had no idea what they were talking about.
"They are still young. They don't even need to go."
Sam sighed. "I'm going to be in college in a few weeks and you should probably have an idea of how they react if they are going to be on the road. There is no reason to take them into a dangerous hunt but trouble has a way of finding you when you least expect it."
Kate felt excitement growing in her chest. She opened the door and pretended to have not heard anything that was said. "Hey, I want to start meal prepping so Bobby doesn't have to cook as much. Here is some paper and a pen. I want five ideas each."
Dean took it from her. "Meat and potatoes."
Kate rolled her eyes. "You need to eat more than that. Five ideas." She went back inside and took a moment to think about what it would be like to go hunting. She had been with them when they took care of that ghost but there was so much more out there. With her ability to heal, she would be an asset.
"I can go with you a few times too." Sam said once Kate went back inside.
"I'm sorry that I gave you so much shit when you were a kid. You were actually an easy kid." Dean said.
Sam chuckled. "You're just now realizing that?"
Taylor woke up after sleeping for an hour. His head ached and he was groggy. He had the weirdest dream and it threw him off.
"You feeling okay?" Kate asked.
"Yeah, just a little off." Taylor answered her.
Dean walked into the living room. "You two can go outside." He stopped Kate. "If you feel anything off you have to come back inside."
Kate nodded. "I promise I will run back in if I notice anything."
Dean went out with them. "Stay right around the house."
Kate sighed. "We aren't toddlers."
Dean eyed her. "No but if something happens I want you to be able to get back in there."
Kate shrugged. She was just glad to have sunlight on her face. She went to her favorite car and sat on the hood, letting the sun hit her.
"How are you feeling?" Dean asked Taylor.
Taylor pushed the porch swing with his feet. "I was groggy but am feeling better."
"Good. Sam still gets migraines sometimes." Dean said.
"He gets visions, right?"
"He does sometimes but not the way that Kate does." Dean answered.
"If the demon did something to Sam and Kate that gave them those abilities and the angels did something to me and Kate that gave us abilities, what does that mean for her?" Taylor asked.
Dean sat beside him. "I haven't thought about it like that. We don't know for sure that this has anything to do with angels."
Taylor shrugged. "I guess not. It may be genetic for her."
Dean sighed. "We are trying to figure it out. When Brian asked me to help take care of her I didn't expect any of this."
Taylor leaned his head back.
"I don't regret agreeing to help. She is a cool kid. I just would prefer to have a guidebook so I don't have to think as much." Dean added.
Taylor chuckled. "I want to help too since I'm connected but I'm just as confused."
"Your mom's side is the one with the connection, right?" Dean asked.
"Yes."
"Do you know any of your dad's people?" Dean asked.
Taylor picked his head up. "I don't talk to them."
"I can ask Craig if he knows anything to help narrow some of this down. I need to dig through Brian's side too." Dean said, almost to himself.
Taylor gritted his teeth. He had been angry and bitter at his dad but it had gotten worse. "I don't want to talk to him."
Dean looked at Taylor. "I didn't say you had to. I just want to know if there are more connections."
The light above Bobby's door shattered.
Dean moved away from Taylor. "No talking to him. He can rot alone."
Taylor gasped. "Oh no."
Dean nodded. "You are angry and seem to have what ever ability that was."
Taylor's face turned red. "I'll get a broom. I didn't mean to."
Dean stopped him. "I'll go get it. You stay here."
Taylor paced back and forth. He had felt a rush but hadn't meant to break the light.
Dean swept up the glass.
Taylor apologized for the dozenth time.
"Taylor, I brought it up. I know it is a sore spot. You're okay." Dean said.
"I don't know how I did that." Taylor said.
Dean whistled for Kate. "Hey, Taylor shattered that light when he was thinking about his dad. Do you have any idea how?"
Kate put her hands over her mouth. "You do have abilities!"
Taylor frowned. "I didn't mean to."
"We have established that." Dean said. "Kate, can you do that?"
Kate thought about it. "I don't know but I know if I am angry my abilities are stronger."
Dean nodded. "So you two need to stay calm."
Taylor grimaced. "Is Bobby mad about the light?"
Dean laughed. "No. He knows it was an accident. This thing has been broken so many times that I don't know why he bothers replacing it."
Over the next two weeks they settled back into their version of normal. Taylor spent a few nights at home but mostly stayed over at Bobby's. Dean hunted and Sam tagged along at times. Bobby researched and Kate tried to keep her mind busy.
John called to check in on Craig and was surprised that he was taking a turn. He didn't think Craig was that far off his rocker. He had been seeing and hearing things and had gotten a diagnosis of schizophrenia. He would be there for a while longer which suited John.
Taylor felt disconnected to his family, aside from his grandmother. Unlike Sam, Dean and Kate he had both parents. Both of them were living but they might as well not be. He felt that it was unfair that they had lost their mothers and he still had his. In a way, he had lost her too but the pain was different. As time went by he cared less.
Misty tried to talk to Taylor when he was home. She felt guilty but thought she was doing the best thing by letting him spend time at Bobby's. He was nearing his teen years and had gotten less hospitable. She reasoned that it was just part of him getting older and being bitter about his dad. He wasn't acting that differently than David did but Taylor was always so gentle and sensitive.
Bobby had designated an area for them to blow off steam. Kate went there when she was bored. She liked climbing on the cars and jumping between them. Taylor went when he was angry and he had spent more time there as each day went by.
Kate dove into the lore and absorbed as much information as she could after she overheard Dean's plan to take her hunting. She worked with Taylor too. They quizzed each other and it helped time go by faster.
Another week went by and John got a call from Misty. She said that Craig had attacked the hospital personnel because he was having a psychotic break. He claimed that the staff were demons and he had seen their true faces. He had been moved to a more secure facility.
John kept Bobby and Dean up to date for Taylor's sake. "He seems to be going down hill in a hurry."
Bobby scratched his chin. "Are all of his hallucinations about creatures?"
"The way they talk, yes. He didn't seem that out of touch with reality when he was hunting with me. He was an alcoholic and had a temper but he has not been drunk since being in there."
Dean groaned.
"What is it?" Bobby asked.
Dean swore under his breath. "I hope I am wrong on this." He ran upstairs and found the book that Kate had been reading. He found a page of notes with it and groaned again. He went back to Bobby's office. "Dad, do you know what kind of creatures he was hallucinating about?"
"Vampires sometimes. Other times I think werewolves and that sort of thing." John said.
Dean looked at the notes. "Son of a bitch."
Bobby and John both asked what he found.
Dean put the set of notes down on Bobby's desk. He pointed to a section about demons and their different forms. On the side was a drawing of a human with a distorted face. "Damn it. I wanted to be wrong."
Bobby cleared his throat. "You think she planted those images?"
Dean nodded. "Yeah, and someone got hurt because of it."
John caught up with the train of thought. "Damn it."
Dean flipped the page over and held his breath. "The hounds." He slammed his fist down on the desk.
"Find her. I'll cross reference with the hospital." John said.
Dean growled and yelled for Kate. He didn't find her inside so he opened the front door.
Kate was drawing symbols in the dirt when her blood ran cold. She heard, "Katelyn Amelia Winchester." in a tone of voice that she hadn't yet heard before. She froze in place, unsure what to do. "Get your ass inside, now!" She threw the stick down and ran to the house. She got one look at Dean's face and squeaked. "Red card!"
