His trainers screamed against the polished floor of Kya as his turned and quickly ran out the door, their screaming turning to muffled stomps as he ran across the thick layer of snow coating the pavement and road. He slowed down when his house neared and smoothed down his fur. He gripped the bag of sugar tighter.

'OK Tails, act natural' The voice tried to calm him down.'Maddie can read you like a book.'

Tails took a deep breath and pushed against the door. It hadn't been locked, unsurprisingly, and Maddie was still in the kitchen. She looked up as she heard him enter the door and smiled. "Thank you Tails so much! I really needed more of that. You're a life saver." Despite the fact he only really went to find more about Kya, Tails beamed, feeling his insides light up at knowing how proud Maddie was. He gave the bag to her and took of his trainers as she went back to the kicthen and walked back up the stair, his woolen socks padding up the wooden steps.

Knuckles had gone out with Tom, so he wasn't there. Tails would have to wait until Phoebe had her shift. the best thing to do would be to...

He had done Amy, who next? Rouge? Shadow? He didn't know if Knuckles was a good idea; the latter hadn't reacted well. But he had to. Sonic had saved everyone all the time. Now, it was Tails's turn. Shadow was... somewhere, and Knuckles was in town. so that only left Rouge.

Tails glanced up at the clock hung up at the front of the room. 8:34. eek. definitely too late.

It was another late night as Tails sat at his desk, his face smothered in the bright blue light of his laptop. He had listened to the recording over and over again.

"Sonic and I planned to watch TV. I made cookies, drinks. We were really looking forward to it."

Tails's own voice sounded different and hollow. "And when did you plan this?"

"Saturday."

"Saturday? But Sonic went missing on Wednesday?" He could hear the confusion in his voice.

"We were that excited! It was a comedy action thing that was going live that day. I-I was waiting for him and when he didn't come, I called, and- then I learned-" Any other person who heard it wouldn't know what was happening, but Tails did.

There was a short pause before the blue waves on his laptop spiked again.

"Uh- Amy... I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"It's OK," He could hear the smile in her voice. "Don't worry, I'm just happy to help you."

Tails sighed and pressed the pay button again. He had transported the recording to his laptop for future use, and was frustrated at his brain for not connecting the dots that must be there. They had to be. He spun the black pen in his had again, the blank lined paper mocking him. Why is this always so easy in the movies?!

OK OK OK. If nobody knew where Sonic was from 10.45 - 11.10, then yes, he could've gone to Kya.

AND could've been kidnapped. Or murdered.

I have the second part but its on my phone. And my stupid dad has my stupid phone. So I promise ill have the second part by tomorrow.
