Andy waited on the steps with Owen. "Is your mom picking you up?"
"My dad is. My mom has to work." Owen said. He handed Andy a lollipop.
Andy unwrapped the candy and put it in his mouth. "My old school had a pirate ship on the playground." He kind of missed it.
"That sounds so cool. Did it have an anchor?"
"No, just nets to climb," Andy answered. He saw his mom and waved.
The teacher told April that Andy had a great day. She committed her face to memory and said goodbye to the duo.
"How was your day?" April asked.
"It was okay." Andy said.
"What did you do?"
"I don't remember." Andy said with a yawn.
April held his hand as they walked. "That is a long day for a little guy."
Andy nodded. "I need a nap."
Kate ran outside to find Taylor. "Ellie remembers!"
"Nate too." Taylor said. He waved goodbye to his friends. He got into Bobby's vehicle and dropped his backpack.
"How was today?" Bobby asked.
"Great." Kate said with a big smile.
Bobby chuckled. "Great then."

Dean swung his machete through the air. "You ready?"
Caleb popped his back. "Born ready."
Dean kicked in the door to the small cabin. He disconnected a vamp head from its body. He ducked as Caleb did the same.
The vamps were uncharacteristically slow. The hunt was over in minutes.
Caleb shoved one of them with his foot. "Feels good."
Dean crouched down. There was a bite mark on one of their backs. "Looks like a werewolf got ahold of this one."
"That may explain why they were slow." Caleb said. He confirmed that another vamp also had a bite mark. He looked in their wallets. They had been vamps for years. "I'll just take the cash for donation."
Dean shrugged. "They aren't using it."
"Are we hitting up another place or going to pack up stuff?" Caleb asked.
"We should get stuff packed up." Dean said. "We can always stop on the way back."
Caleb got into the passenger seat of the impala. He preferred to drive but Baby was an experience. "What are you going to do if you total this thing?"
Dean shot him a glare. "Fix it. I've wrecked her before."
Caleb remembered that incident. He patted the dashboard. "No disrespect."
Dean nodded in approval.

Ezra yelled for his dad. "Dad! Dad!"
Mark ran up the stairs. "Ezra?"
Ezra ran past him. "Something in that house grabbed Cody."
They sprinted over and banged on the door.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes! I saw him knock and then a hand grabbed him." Ezra said.
Mark tried to open the door but it was locked. He rammed it with his shoulder but the door wouldn't budge. The house was old so the door should have broken. He grabbed a brick and tried to break a window. The glass refused to shatter. He yelled for Cody and told Ezra to call the cops.
Cody couldn't see anything. He had something on his eyes. His mouth was stuffed with cloth and it made him gag. He heard voices.
"Is that him?"
"I think so. Who else would it be?"
"Why isn't he doing anything?"
"Just.. shut up until he gets here."
Cody was confused. He was just a kid. Why did they grab him? Who were they? He mumbled and tried to spit the gag out.
One of the people shoved his head. "You aren't going anywhere."
Cody didn't recognize the voices. He was scared.

Dean paid for a truck to haul stuff back to South Dakota. He gave Caleb the keys and told him to follow. He saw Ezra and Mark trying to break into the house and hopped out of the car.
Mark turned. "Cody is in there!"
Dean tried to kick down the door too. "Why is he in there?"
"He thought Andy was home and someone grabbed him." Ezra said. He was shaking and just wanted his brother to be okay.
Caleb got out of the truck. "What is going on?"
"A little boy is in the house. They said someone grabbed him." Dean said.
Caleb ran around the back to attempt to gain entry that way. He caught the scent of sulfur and ran back around. He pulled Dean to the side. "Demons."
Dean swore. "Okay, uh Mark, have you called for help?"
Mark shook his head. "I told Ezra to but he froze."
"April's ex-husband is into drugs. That is why she is not here. We came to get her stuff. He is the only person I could think of that would be here." Dean said. He showed Mark a badge.
"He has my son."
"We will get him out. I just need you to stay back." Dean said. He hoped that Mark would accept the offer.
"Just get my son out in one piece." Mark said. He moved Ezra back.

Cody heard someone walking through the room. The steps were different. He tried to talk but the gag was in his mouth. He felt fingers touching him and tried to pull away. The gag was removed from his mouth and the blindfold was untied. A man bent down and gently turned his head from side to side.
"You imbeciles." The man growled.
A younger man stood up. "You wanted him, we got him."
Cody whimpered and tried to get out of the chair.
"What is your name?" The first man asked.
Cody whispered his name.
"Cody. Ah, yes. Cody. Does that sound like Andy to either of you?" The man asked. "Morons!"
Cody started to cry. The man scared him and he seemed angry.
"How were we supposed to know it was some other kid?" Another man asked.
"For starters. Did either of you idiots wonder why a six-year-old would knock on his own door if his mother was nowhere around? Did you put your two brain cells together and think!" The man held his hand up to silence everybody. "And now you've brought a bloody Winchester to the front door."
Cody tried to wiggle out of the rope that tied him to the chair.
"Sit!" The man ordered.
Cody froze and stared at him.
The man snapped his fingers and the lights shattered.
Caleb tried to ram the backdoor again and it swung open. He stumbled and hit the floor. He wheezed from having the wind knocked out of him.
Dean saw the front door slowly creak open. He slowly stepped inside. He kept his back to the walls and cleared rooms. He heard a commotion in the dining area.
Caleb was pulled up by two demons. He was slammed into a chair and disarmed.
The man in charge turned slowly. He knew Dean was around the corner. "Dean, don't be shy."
Dean stepped around the corner and aimed a gun with devil's trap bullets at the man. "Let the kid go."
The demon flicked his hand and untied the ropes.
Dean furrowed his brows. He motioned for Cody to get behind him.
The demon looked at Cody. "Shoo, go on now."
Cody ran from the house as fast as he could.
"You know, if you keep making that face, it may stick like that." The man said. He flicked the gun out of Dean's hands and forced him to sit down in a chair. "So we meet in person."
Dean growled and tried to move from the chair. "You son of a bitch."
The man chuckled. "I am, actually. Mother was... as you say, a bit of a bitch."
Dean looked at Caleb to make sure he was okay.
"Pleasantries aside, it seems as though we have a misunderstanding." The man said.
Dean glared at him. "You kidnapped a kid, what is there to misunderstand?"
"These two goons were under my orders to find a child. These MORONS just grabbed the wrong one. See, I was looking for a boy by the name of Andrew. About yay high." He held his hand to the side to show how tall Andy was.
Dean strained against the pressure that the demon had on him. "What do you want with Andy?"
"Ah, so you know him." The man said. He sat down in a chair and crossed his ankle over his knee. "Rumor has it, the boy no longer has the little affliction that Azazel bestowed upon him."
"So?" Dean asked.
"So, I wanted to confirm that he is indeed cured, as you would say." The man said.
"He is. What does that have to do with you?" Dean asked.
The man snapped his fingers and a drink appeared in his hand. He took a sip and swirled the ice cubes. "See, Azazel and I had opposing views. He created... special children to do his bidding. Andy was going to be a very big problem for me. I do not like children that are a problem for me. However, if he is cured, he is no longer a problem."
"Then why try to kidnap him?" Dean demanded.
"Dim and dimmer misunderstood my assignment."
"Who are you?" Dean asked. He was still seething. A demon was a demon.
The man sat his drink down. "Oh, how rude of me. The name's Crowley."
Dean managed to stand up only to be shoved back down.
"You are Dean Winchester. That bear over there is Caleb."
Caleb jerked his arm away from the demon that pinned him. He elbowed him in the stomach and got the upper hand.
Crowley slowly turned. "Caleb, we are having a civil conversation. You should have a seat."
Caleb grunted when he was slammed back into the seat.
Crowley stood up and straightened his tie. "I have what I came here for."
Dean felt the pressure easing from his arms and legs. He had never had an interaction with a demon that was even remotely civil.
Crowley drank the rest of his drink. "I suppose the boy's parents will want to know who kidnapped him." He twisted his hand and snapped both of the other demons' necks. He flicked his hand and sent the black smoke through the floorboards. "That should do the trick."
Caleb stumbled off of the chair. He whirled around. The demon was gone.
Dean was frozen, expecting an attack. "What was that?"
Caleb checked both of the men on the floor. "What are we going to do with them?"
"Hell if I know." Dean said.
Cas appeared.
Dean nearly punched him. "Damn it Cas!"
"I came to warn you of the demons but I couldn't get in." Cas said.
"Yeah, they are already gone." Dean said.
Cas surveyed the two bodies on the floor. "These men were demons?"
"They were. A demon named Crowley iced them and left them here." Caleb said.
Cas studied the scene. "Interesting." He vanished for a few minutes and then went back to the house. "The neighbor's family now remembers nothing. I will dispose of these." He touched both men and vanished again.
Dean sat back down. He rubbed the back of his head. "Did any of that seem right to you?"
Caleb shook his head. "No. I guess demons can be enemies with other demons."
"He just let Cody go." Dean said.
"He let us go."
Dean slowly stood up. "I guess we pack."

Kate was sitting at Bobby's table when a vision hit. She was back in the dark woods surrounded by creatures. A specific scent filled the air. She had smelled it before but where? She looked down at her hands. They were covered in blood. She wiped them on her jeans and walked quietly through the trees. She heard a shriek that made her hair stand on end. Her heart raced and she knew she needed to go to the sound. She ran, ignoring the creatures around her. She found a person sitting in the middle of a clearing. He was Dean's age and panting. "Are you okay?"
The man looked up at Kate. He had a bite mark on his shoulder and he was struggling to breathe. He put a hand on her foot, as he was too weak to reach up. "Fix this."
Kate saw his vamp teeth slip from his gums. With one swift blow, she ended him.
Kate opened her eyes. She looked down at her hands and saw that she only held a pencil.
Taylor tapped her. "Are you okay?"
Kate shivered. "Vision."
"What about this time" Taylor asked.
"I was in the forest. There were monsters but someone screamed and I went to help them. He was a vampire and told me to 'fix this'. What does that even mean?" Kate said.
Taylor gave her a drink. "I'm sorry that you have so many visions."
"Me too. Your abilities are more fun."
Taylor smiled. "You have some cool ones too."
"How is the homework?" Bobby asked.
Kate pointed to a stack. "Done."
"Already?" Bobby looked through the stack. "I'll make sure to tell Dean you didn't fight it this time."
Kate scrunched her nose. "That was when we were in the bunker. I was bored."
"Taylor?"
"All done too." Taylor said. "April needed help with stuff. Can we go by there?"
"I don't see why not." Bobby said.

Dean was taking apart Andy's bed when his phone rang. He answered it. "Hello?"
Lacy was pleased to hear Dean's voice. "I know that you all are back in town. I was just wondering, when would you want to come over. I have really missed you."
Dean was confused for a moment before all the memories flooded back into his head. His face turned red. "God, Lacy. Uh, I'm helping someone move some stuff and then I'll be back tomorrow night or the next day."
Lacy smiled. "Well, you know where I live."
Caleb walked into the room. He raised an eyebrow at Dean.
Dean waved him away.
Caleb crossed his arms and leaned against the door facing.
Dean finished his talk with Lacy and put the phone back in his pocket. He took a deep breath.
"You okay over there? You look like you are going to pass out." Caleb said.
Dean tapped the screwdriver on the floor. "That was Lacy."
"Girl you dated and then forgot about?" Caleb asked.
"Had my memory wiped over. Apparently, she has her memory back too."
"So why do you look like that?" Caleb asked.
"Because I suddenly remembered everything." He raised both eyebrows and tilted his head. "Everything."
Caleb laughed. "You were right about the hot water not working. So, if you need to take a cold shower, go right ahead."
Dean threw a toy at him. "Dumbass."

Sam slowly got comfortable with Jess knowing about the supernatural. He wished she didn't but it did help keep her safe. The apartment felt more like home as they made it their own. He originally planned to stay temporarily but sleeping next to Jess was the best sleep he had ever gotten. He saw the mailman stop at the curb and went outside. "Do you have anything for Sam Winchester?"
The mailman looked through a stack of envelopes and found a padded one. "Sam 'friggen' Winchesster?"
Sam smiled. "Yeah, my little sister sent it."
The mailman handed it to him and told him to have a good day.
Sam found Jess in the kitchen and handed her the envelope. "For you."
Jess eyed the package. "What is it?"
"Open it."
Jess shook the envelope and then opened it. She smiled. "A necklackce?
"Or bracelet. There should be two chains in there." Sam said.
Jess looked at the charms. "This one I know is so a demon can't possess me. What is this one?"
Sam explained each part of the necklace and helped her with the clasp. He had asked Kate to get some protection charms that were somewhat disguised.
"I love it." Jess said. She tiptoed to kiss him. "You are so thoughtful."
Sam sat down and wrapped his arms around her. "I just wanted you to be safe."
"I know. You are just... thoughtful. I have dated other guys that never put thought into anything. You are different." Jess said.
"You bought stars for the ceiling because I told you months ago that I went to someone's house as a kid and was envious that they had stars." Sam said.
Jess smiled. "We are a good match then."
Sam's heart ached. They could avoid the original chain of events that ended with Jess dead but the fact that it was ever supposed to happen scared him. She was pure and perfect. He was truly happy and it made the memory that much more painful.
"What is on your mind?" Jess asked.
"I don't have visions anymore. I just remember some old ones." Sam said. He looked at the time. "Unfortunately I have classes."
Jess frowned and stepped back. "Me too. Walk with me?"
Sam kissed her forehead. "Yep."

Caleb flipped the light on in April's room. There was a portable crib and thin mat on the floor. Andy had a bed. April didn't. He sighed. She had one in Sioux Falls at least. Her room was quick to pack up. Most of the items were baby related anyway. It made him sad for her. He didn't grow up with a lot of money or belongings but it was different when you had two kids with you. He found a pair of winter boots but the bottoms were worn through. "Hey, Dean."
Dean popped his head in the door. "What?"
"Does she have new boots?" Caleb asked.
Dean shrugged. "She has tennis shoes. We can pick up some on our way back."
Caleb made note of the size and type. Any hunter would agree, a good pair of boots were a necessity.
Mark knocked on the front door.
Dean answered the door, assuming Mark remembered what happened. "Hello?"
"My wife sent this stuff over. Are April and the boys okay?"
"They are in a safe house that the city provides. They are doing really good." Dean said. He lifted one of the trashbags to put it in the back of the care.
"Cody was a little bigger than Andy. My wife went through and pulled out all of his stuff that didn't fit." Mark said.
Dean thanked him. "How have your two been since Andy isn't here to spark trouble?"
Mark chuckled. "They find trouble on their own."
Dean pulled his phone out. "If you give me your number, I can pass it on to April. I know Andy misses Cody." He swapped numbers and then put the rest of the bags into the car. If any of it fit, Andy would be set for the winter.
Caleb taped the last box. Everything fit into the bed of the truck they rented. "You know, I'm going to have to get me one of these."
"As opposed to the matchbox you call a car?" Dean asked.
"Yeah." Caleb said.
"If you want to sell off one of the bunker cars, you could." Dean said.
Caleb thought about it. The more he thought about taking a step back, the better it sounded. "I might just do that."
Ellen called Dean. "I tried to talk those two out of going after whatever has their buddy but they didn't listen."
Dean groaned. "Well, they are adults."
Ellen snorted. "Not so sure about that."
"Thank you for trying. It may be nothing. Just about anything can get the jump on you if you are alone." Dean said.
"Where are you?"
"Kansas. Caleb and I are about to head back that way."
"That is a nice thing you are doing for that girl." Ellen said.
"The whole saving people thing sometimes means from other things than demons." Dean said.
"Well, you are turning out to be an upstanding young man." Ellen said.
Dean chuckled. "You act surprised."
Ellen grumbled. "I know your dad, Dean."
Dean smiled. "Thank you for the update, Ellen."
Ellen told him it was no problem. She hung up the phone and went back to serving customers. Normal bars may not be busy during the day but the Roadhouse always was.

"Park the truck, we will take the car into town." Dean said.
"You just can't stand to let anyone else drive." Caleb said.
"Look, man. The truck has a ton of boxes in it. It isn't inconspicuous."
"You think baby is inconspicuous?" Caleb asked.
"Well... baby is.. we are taking the car." Dean said. He slapped the top of the car and got into the driver's seat. They had finished up at April's house and took a detour on their way back to South Dakota. There was a reported nest of vampires that had been plaguing a small town.
Caleb parked the truck and secured the tarp over the back. He got into Dean's car and read through information about the case. "Looks like quite a few people have gone missing."
"Probably feeders," Dean said.
The vampires were staying in an old house. That detail alone was different than normal vamp hunts. After talking to locals, it seemed that the inhabitants of the houses blended in. There was only a rumor that they had attacked people.
"So... we knock?" Caleb asked.
"That would give away the advantage we have." Dean said.
"Well, we don't know for sure that they are vamps. What if they are human?" Caleb asked.
"You knock. I'll stay hidden. I'll be close enough to help if they are aggressive."
Caleb shrugged. He knocked on the door and the curtains moved. He leaned back to try to look in the window but the house was dark.
A girl answered the door. "Hello?"
"Hi, are your parents home?" Caleb asked. He wasn't expecting a kid.
"My mom is. She is sick though." The girl said.
Dean furrowed his brows. Something was off. "Is it just you and your mom that lives here?"
The girl shook her head. "I have a brother, uncle and my dad used to live here but he died."
Caleb kept his guard up but crouched down. How would he be able to tell if the kid was a vamp? "Is your uncle here?"
The girl seemed nervous. "I have to go. Goodbye." She shut the door quickly and ran down the hallway.
Dean peaked in a back window. There was movement inside but everything was quiet. He jumped back when the girl's face appeared on the other side of the glass. Maybe she was being held captive.
"So now what?" Caleb asked.
"Something is off."
"Well, yeah." Caleb said. He scratched the back of his head. "She said her mom was sick."
"She may have been trying to pull you in." Dean said.
"She just looked scared."
"I don't know." Dean said. He went back to the car and looked through newspaper articles. "We need to get into that house."
"Worst case they are normal humans and we clear town before the cops come." Caleb said.
Dean picked the lock on the door. He motioned for Caleb to follow him and entered the house. They cleared the first few rooms before a soft creak caused them to turn around.
A boy was sitting on the stairs.
Dean froze. "Are you in danger?"
The little boy didn't speak. He just blinked.
Dean got closer. He didn't know what he was going to do if the kid attacked. He didn't want to behead him.
Another creak alerted them to an adult male standing in the hallway.
The man sighed. "You are hunters.. yes?"
Dean flinched.
"I suppose you are here for us." The man said.
The boy looked scared.
"What are you?" Dean asked.
"Vampires." The man said. He showed no sign that he was going to lunge.
"We got word that townspeople have been attacked, so yeah, we are here for you." Caleb said.
"That wasn't us." The man said. "Brandon, go upstairs."
The boy got to his feet and climbed the rest of the steps before turning a corner. He shut a door somewhere upstairs and then silence drifted across the house.
"There are two children here. Their mother, my sister is in her bedroom."
Dean furrowed his brows. "Why are you telling us this?"
"I will not hurt a human." The man said. "I am aware of what we are but I have never taken blood from an unwilling human."
"Why should we believe that?" Caleb asked.
"Nothing I saw will convince you either way." He got on his knees and put his hands behind his head. "Spare the children."
Dean approached and tied his hands behind his back. "Why are you not fighting?"
"I am afraid there are worse things out there than me." The man said.
Dean turned his machete over in his hand. He pulled the man to his feet and walked him to a chair. "Caleb, keep an eye out." He turned back to the man. "Where do you get blood from?"
"A few people donate it."
"Why would they do that?" Dean asked.
"My family has protected this town for many years. There are no thefts or assaults. Well, there wasn't." The man said.
"It is an even trade. In times of desperation, we have stolen from blood banks. We still hold onto our humanity."
"Are the children..."
"No. They are merely children." He answered.
"So where are people going? The missing people is what brought us here." Dean said.
The man took a deep breath. "We have not been able to find them. We have followed trails but they always run cold. My brother-in-law, Dennis, found the creature responsible but it was stronger than he was."
"Was it a werewolf?" Dean asked.
"I don't think so. He died from his wounds long before he could describe it. Then, Mary, my sister was outside a few nights ago. The creature is fast. It got to her and bit her. It is afraid of light so that is the only way that she survived. Unfortunately, she has gotten sicker each day since the attack."
Caleb and Dean traded looks. What was fast enough to sneak up on a vampire?
"What kind of bite?" Caleb asked.
"Eight punctures. The middle two from the top teeth drove deep enough to cut through bone. The bottom middle met the top two through the wound. The four outside punctures are shallow."
"We took out a nest of vampires earlier this week. They were attacking people. They were slow and at least one had a bite wound like you described." Dean said.
The man hung his head. "I do not believe that Mary will make it through this. I fear that once we are gone, the creatures will continue to prey on humans."
"You said it ran from the light?" Caleb asked.
"Yes."
"Did you get a look at it?" Dean asked.
"As I said, it moved quickly. Vampires have impeccable eyesight at night. In the brief moment that it took me to turn on the light, the creature was already gone." The man said.
"So something is attacking vamps and humans." Dean said. He thought the conversation with Crowley was weird but this interaction was even more strange. "If the locals trust you, spread the word to remain inside at night. I'm sure you can scrounge up some floodlights."
"The creature will hunt elsewhere."
"Why do you say that?" Caleb asked.
"A young couple drove through town. Their car was found a few miles outside of town."
"And you are sure it was the creature?" Dean asked.
"If another vampire was here, we would know. We can sense and smell other creatures. The damage to the car was not something an ordinary vampire could do." The man said.
"Where is the car now?"
"It is parked in an evidence lot." The man said. "Go look at it."
Dean wasn't about to trust a vampire.
"Take me with you. I will remain tied."
Dean spoke to Caleb for a moment. "Okay, I'm going to gag you, no offense."
The man nodded. He opened his mouth for the gag and didn't fight Dean when he escorted him to the car. He mumbled directions and stayed in the car while they looked at the couple's car.
Dean ran his fingers down the side of the car. The door had been ripped off and there were gouges that looked like a tiger got ahold of toilet paper. "What the hell?"
Caleb held his stomach. His breathing was shallow and his heart raced.
Dean looked at him. "Caleb?"
Caleb shook his head. He turned his back and held his breath to calm down.
Dean stared at the car. The creature was fast, had teeth that could break bone and claws that could tear through metal. It was strong. The man was right, a vampire didn't do that. "What do we do with the guy?"
"Let him go." Caleb said.
Dean rubbed his face. "I don't know about that."
Caleb looked him in the eye. "There are worse things out there." He knew in his heart that the creature that attacked them in the basement of the haunted house was the same creature that was plaguing the town.
Dean got back into the car. "We believe you."
The man was tired and worn.
"We are taking you back to your house." Dean said.
The man was surprised.
"We are going to take a look at the kids. If they have any kind of fang mark we will handle this another way." Dean said.
The man nodded. They didn't turn kids. They didn't take blood from kids. His niece and nephew were the pride of his life and he was grateful that the hunters would allow him to continue to protect them.
Back at the house, Brandan and Alana showed Dean and Caleb that they were okay.
They went upstairs to look at Mary.
Mary's breathing was labored. Her wound was turning colors and smelled awful.
Dean winced. "How much worse is she getting?"
Matt, the brother, tilted his head to tell them to go into the hallway. "If she makes it through the night, I will be surprised."
Dean rubbed the back of his head. "I am going to give you my number. We will be keeping an eye out. If you find anything, let us know." He felt weird walking away from a vampire but Matt had proven several times over that he wasn't aggressive. He also knew that Matt was right about the creature focusing on humans. If anyone was going to have a chance, it would be a vampire.

Kate felt a hand on her shoulder, shaking her. She blinked and looked up. "Ma'am?"
The teacher crouched down. "Everyone went to lunch. You were pretty out of it."
Kate looked down at her notebook. She had been drawing. She couldn't tell what it was. "Sorry."
The teacher smiled. "Maybe a little bit of food would help."
Kate thanked her and went to the lunchroom.
Taylor slid a tray toward Kate. "I got you one."
"Thanks." Kate said.
"Are you okay?" Taylor asked.
Kate shrugged. "I zoned out during class. I guess I was drawing."
Taylor opened her notebook. "What were you drawing?"
Kate rested the side of her head on her hand. "I don't know. It doesn't look like anything."
Taylor looked at the sketch. "Maybe it is a symbol."
Kate bit into a fry. "Doesn't look like a symbol."
Taylor turned the drawing upside down. It was one circle with shading around it. He flipped to another page of the same thing. Eight pages total had the weird circles. He slid the notebook back to Kate. "I'm sure we will find out."
Kate nodded. She heard a faint whisper and furrowed her brows. Fix what?
