Rod saw Bobby's car and opened the front door. It was snowing and the wind had a bite to it.

Taylor got out and ran up the steps to hug Rod.

"Hey, there. I'm glad you made it."

Taylor ran back to grab bags and nudged Jo. "That is my grandpa."

Rod welcomed her and said that it was nice to meet her.

"My nana is a hugger." He warned.

Jo stepped into the house and was blown away. It was like a movie or one of those magazines. "Whoa."

Marie rounded the corner and crushed Taylor in a hug. She let go and gave Jo a hug too. "Come in, come in. Taylor can show you where to put those bags and then I've got apple cider on the stove to warm you up."

Jo had never seen so many decorations and lights. The Roadhouse had a wreath and a small tree.

Taylor tossed his bag on his bed. "Looks like Kate claimed that one so you'll get the other."

Jo sat down on the bed and ran her hand over the blanket. "Did she make this?"

"Yes. She likes to knit and crochet." Taylor said.

Jo looked at the details. "It is beautiful."

"Before my grandpa got sick, they fostered kids for a few years. She would make blankets for each bed so that each kid had something unique."

Jo smiled. "I can see where you got your personality from. It skipped a generation."

Taylor grinned. "Thanks."

Kate jumped up and hugged Jo. "Isn't this awesome?"

Jo hugged her back. "That is an understatement."

Rod ushered Bobby toward his office. It wasn't like Bobby's office but it was a room away from the listening ears in the kitchen. "I already spoke to Dean about Kate's account."

Bobby raised an eyebrow.

"The crops that we grow and harvest bring in money each year. Taylor has had an account that a percentage of that money goes into each year. We want Kate to have David's account. Lord knows he would just spend it on drugs." Rod said.

Bobby resituated his hat. "That is quite the gift."

"Well, Taylor doesn't know about his. We planned to gift it to him once he became an adult. That is why I decided to talk to Dean and then you. Taylor is just about the only family we have that stuck around. Our son passed when he was a teenager. Misty is gone. Although we would have loved them like our own, none of Craig's boys ever wanted to be over here. We planned well and have been careful." Rod explained. "Some of the money goes to a children's home that we used to work with."

Bobby nodded.

Rod pulled a book from a shelf and opened it. "This is all that goes in and out of the farm. This would be Taylor's account and that would be Kate's. This one has a lower percentage but it has been building up since we created it. We'd more than happy for Jo to have it but I'm not sure her mom would be comfortable with it. I'm getting older and do not have enough knowledge to help the way that you do. It took me a while to wrap my head around monsters and how you all fight them. I didn't run it by Dean because I sensed that he'd shut it down right away but this other account was an emergency account that we made a while back. Should you need ammo or anything, I think it would last a while."

Bobby blinked rapidly. "I can get behind giving the kids savings funds but that is too much."

"I don't think it is. We planned for a big family and live below our means. The money is just sitting there and this is my way of helping with the fight." Rod said.

Bobby blew air through his nose and rubbed his face. "What if something happens and you need the money for the house or medical bills?"

Rod grabbed another book. "We have our own personal savings."

Bobby pinched the bridge of his nose and looked over the numbers. "Did you go to school for this?"

Rod chuckled. "No, I grew up poor. My dad worked himself to the bone and drilled it into our heads that we need to save and be frugal because it is better to have it and not use it than need it and not have it."

"Is most of this just from crops?"

"Most of it. The animals we raise bring in some money but we spoil them too." Rod said.

Bobby rubbed his face again. "Well, I don't know how to thank you."

"Like I told Dean, keep taking care of those kids." Rod said.

Andy shoveled spoon fulls of cereal into his mouth as he waited for April to dress Ian. He used a chair to wash his spoon and bowl and then ran to put on socks and a jacket.

Caleb brushed his teeth and tossed his toothbrush into a plastic bag. "Are you ready?"

Andy bounced on his toes. "Yes!"

Caleb looked at his watch. "Is your room tidy?"

Andy looked down at his feet.

Caleb chuckled. "Run do that and I bet we will all be ready by the time you finish."

Andy ran to his room and made his bed and put away his toys. He grabbed his favorite blanket and shoved it into his backpack. "I'm ready."

"You can go out with me to load the truck and warm it up." Caleb said.

Andy lifted what he could and carried it outside. He stopped by the truck and looked down the sidewalk.

Caleb followed his eyes. "What is wrong?"

"That's him." Andy said.

Caleb tilted his head. "Who?"

"Jimmy Moris." Andy said.

Caleb saw a kid walking a dog with a woman.

Andy clenched his fist.

Caleb put a hand on Andy's shoulder and shook his head. "Just wave." He grabbed Andy's hand. "Without flipping him off."

Andy sighed and waved.

Jimmy looked annoyed.

Caleb opened the back door of the truck and put Andy in the backseat. He gave Jimmy's mom a small wave as they went by.

Andy grumbled. "Why'd you pick me up?"

"So you weren't too tempted. You saw the look on his face. He got the message." Caleb said.

Andy smirked. "Shows him."

"So no more arguing with this kid." Caleb said.

Andy knelt on the backseat. "Have you ever been to Ms. Marie's house?"

"No, I haven't." Caleb said.

"Did you have grandparents?" Andy asked.

Caleb turned the heat on. "I met my mom's parents a few times but that was so long ago. My dad's dad was around when I was little too but I never met him."

April waved at Caleb from the house.

"Buckle up. Do not get out of the truck." Caleb said.

Andy gave him a thumbs up and buckled his seatbelt.

Caleb took the bags from April and locked the house door. He patted the truck and got in. He had a moment of surrealism, realizing that months ago, he would have never guessed that he'd be in his own truck, with a woman and two kids, on their way to meet up with rest of the 'family' for Christmas. He assumed he'd spend Christmas in a bar. This was so much better.

Jess looked up. "Oh, there is a sign."

Sam turned toward the sign. "They live in the middle of nowhere. This town is just the closest one."

Jess watched the storefronts zip by. "This is an adorable town though."

"It reminds me of Mayberry." Sam said.

Jess smiled. "It does!" She sent a message to her parents to let them know that they had made it safely.

Sam kept driving and turned again.

"Are you sure there are houses back here?" Jess asked.

Sam laughed. "I thought the same thing the first time I came up here." He pointed to a fence. "That is their fence. They brand the corners with their brand."

Jess leaned forward and tried to follow the fence line with her eyes. "Good lord, how long is the fence?"

Sam nudged her. "Just be patient."

Kate knew Sam and Jess were almost there so she waited on the porch. She saw an unfamiliar car and got excited. "They are here!" She opened Sam's door when he parked and hugged him.

Sam hugged her and spun around. "Hey, bug."

Kate grumbled about her back and giggled when he squeezed her. She gave Jess a hug too and shoved them toward the house.

Dean showed Sam where to put their stuff and teased him. "I am stuck in a room with Bobby. Jess seems like a better roommate."

Sam grinned. "Don't be jealous."

Dean scoffed. "Never."

Rod let Jo meet some of the horses and saddled two of them. "Taylor, you know the path that runs out by the falls?"

"Yes sir." Taylor said.

"Dean and I warded that trail before it. "Keep an eye out for warding and don't go too far." Rod said.

"Okay, thank you." Taylor said.

Jo fed her horse an apple and scratched his head. "He is beautiful."

Taylor patted his neck. "Most of them are. My grandpa takes really good care of them."

Jo got in the saddle and scratched his neck. "What is his name?"

Taylor looked at the halter. "Atlas."

Jo smiled. "Well, let's go Atlas."

Taylor hopped on his horse and gently tapped him with his boot. "There are a few waterfalls that you will have to see in the summer."

"Are they frozen over?" Jo asked.

"I don't know. He just said that they warden a specific area. It is probably just outside of the boundaries." Taylor said. He saw Jo's face. "Nope. Nope. I'm not showing it to you. You and Kate are not getting me into hot water."

Jo laughed. "When have I ever done that?"

Taylor shrugged. "I think you would if you got the chance."

"I'm older. I'm supposed to keep you out of hot water."

"Sam has at least a dozen stories of Dean's ideas going bad." Taylor said. He smiled at Jo. "If the overlook is warded, I'll show you that and you can see the falls from there."

"Thanks." Jo said. "Besides, you are too much of a goody two shoes. I know if I have a bad idea, Kate will back me up."

Taylor groaned. "Do you have any ideas right now?"

Jo snorted. "No."

Taylor saw some tracks and slowed down. "Those are some big paw prints."

Jo leaned over to get a better look. "I can't tell what they are. Too much snow is covering them. Wolves?"

"Maybe."

"Should we go back?" Jo asked.

"No." Taylor said. He whistled.

Jo turned her head as two dogs came barreling through the woods.

"Goose and Timber go out anytime anyone goes trail riding. They'd let us know if anything got close." Taylor said.

Jo enjoyed the ride. The snow made things quiet and the scenery was breathtaking. She just wished Ellen was there. "I'd do this all the time if I could."

"Maybe when school is out, we could stay for a week or two." Taylor said.

"Oh, I don't know if they'd be okay with that."

Taylor slowed his horse. "They would be. It hurt my nana when things didn't go as planned. She loves kids and people in general. Even if you weren't my sister, she'd still be okay with you being up here."

Jo wondered how different things would be if her dad was still alive. Would she have known about Taylor?

Taylor hopped off his horse and tied him to a tree. He did the same with Jo's horse and helped her down. "The falls are right over there. It sounds like one of them is still going."

Jo wished she had a camera. "It looks like a painting."

Taylor sat on a log and put his hands in his pockets. "I wish I had gotten to spend more time out here as a kid."

"I'm sorry for everything that happened." Jo said.

Taylor sighed. "It all leads to this though. I wish I had gotten to meet our dad. I wish bad things didn't happen but I'm glad I found out about you and you got to be here."

"Me too." Jo said.

Goose barked, alerting Taylor that something was nearby.

Taylor stood up and walked to where Goose was. "What do you hear?"

Goose whined and looked into the trees.

Taylor didn't see anything and his demon radar wasn't acting up. "We will keep going."

Jo got back on Atlas and rubbed his head between his ears. She wondered if her mom would let her have a horse if she did all the work.

Taylor looked back once they had ridden for a while. Goose may have heard a rabbit or something. Timber was calm.

They got back to the barn and put the tack back.

Jo enjoyed brushing Atlas and gave his nose a kiss.

"If you keep doing that you are going to spoil him." Taylor said.

Jo rolled her eyes. "He's a good boy."

Taylor shut the door to the barn and headed back to the house. He stumbled back and gasped when a snowball hit him in the face. He whirled around and looked at Jo.

Jo jumped when one hit her. "Not me."

Taylor ducked. He scooped up some snow and packed it into a ball.

Jess was on the porch watching the incoming war. She sipped her cider and waited. She met eyes with Taylor and flicked her eyes to an old piece of equipment in the yard.

Taylor ran around and beamed Dean in the back of the head with a snowball.

Marie stepped outside and laughed. "You don't want to join them?"

Jess smiled. "Oh, no. I like to watch."

Jo got Kate and ran behind Dean's car.

Dean saw her and pulled her by the back of her coat. "Baby is not a shield."

Jo got away from him and hit him with a handful of snow.

Sam wasn't sure which side he was on until Kate hit him in the side of the face with a snowball. He ran her down and stuffed snow down the back of her shirt.

Jess loved this side of Sam.

Kate's cheeks were red from the cold and exertion of running. She put her hands on her knees and took a deep breath. She noted that Dean's attention was on Jo and Taylor and used the opportunity to dump a hat full of snow over his head.

Dean dusted his head off and asked Sam for backup.

Sam tossed him a piece of cardboard to use as a shield.

"They play hard." Jess said.

Marie nodded. "I'd say this is the first time they've gotten to do this."

Jess jumped back. "Hey, I'm not part of this." She dusted the snow off her jacket and smiled.

Kate screamed and ran when Sam tried to grab her. "Jess, call him off!"

Jess laughed. "She's just a little girl, Sam."

Taylor made eye contact with Dean. He smirked and put his hands on the ground.

Dean's eyes grew wide. "Take cover."

Taylor caused the snow to ripple like an ocean wave and cover the rest of them in a thin layer. He grinned. "I think I won."

Dean shook his head and tried to get the snow out of his ears. "That is cheating."

Kate hit him in the side of the face with a snowball.

He started to retaliate but turned. He saw a black truck coming up the driveway and brushed off his jacket. "Dad?"

Sam turned too. "Is that dad?"

Marie simply smiled.

John furrowed his brows. The kids looked like they had been caught in a snowstorm. He got out of the truck and raised an eyebrow.

Dean tried to clear his head and face of snow. His gloves were frozen solid. "Dad, you're here."

John snorted. "What happened?"

Dean straightened his jacket. "Uh I'd say I was kicking their butts in a snowball war but Taylor decided to dust all of us."

Sam walked over. He wasn't sure if he should try to hug him or not.

Marie cleared her throat. "Why don't you kids go through the back door. Taylor will show you where to dump your clothes." She welcomed John into the house and asked Jess to help gather dry clothes.

Jess got an extra set for Sam and brought them some towels. She kissed his cold lips and hugged him to her. "You are freezing."

Sam shivered. "You are warm."

Dean gagged teasingly.

Kate shrugged off her snowy clothes, thankful that she had pajamas on underneath. "I'll get you guys some dry clothes." She ran off to get those and ran back. She saw a clump of snow on the floor and shoved it up Dean's shirt back.

Dean jumped and grabbed her arm. He rubbed his wet hair on her and let her go.

"Ew."

Taylor tossed the wet clothes into the dryer and lined up the boots.

"What is that?" Jo asked.

"A boot dryer." Taylor said. "It serves as a heater too but it blows warm air toward the floor so you can put your wet shoes under it."

Jo felt of the warm air. "We so need one of these."

John was sitting at the table with Bobby and Rod by the time the kids got dried.

Dean sat down beside him. "I didn't know you were coming."

John sipped his coffee. "Marie is convincing."

Dean knew he was downplaying it. "How was the drive?"

John shrugged. "Snowy." He patted Kate's arm when she hugged him. "Sam, Jess." He acknowledged them with a nod.

Bobby got off the phone with Caleb and stood up. "Caleb is almost here."

Taylor went out with him to help. He caught Andy as he tumbled out of the truck. "Easy."

Andy took Taylor's hand. "I want to see the tree!"

Taylor made sure it was okay with April and carried Andy inside.

Andy's mouth dropped open and he spun around. There was a big tree and a small tree. There were lights and snowmen and his mind was blown.

Ian had a similar reaction.

The house was bustling with the new additions and Marie was in her element. She put food in the oven and gave Kate and Jo tasks to help her. She cut up fruit for Andy and Ian and gave them some warm cider.

John was about like Rod when it came to social interaction. He retired to the side room and told Taylor he wanted to talk to him.

Taylor joined John and Rod and felt nervous. "You wanted to talk to me?"

John dug around in his bag and put a folder on the coffee table. "I was going to wait until tomorrow to give you these but your grandpa thinks it would be good to do it now."

Taylor picked the folder up and opened the top of it. He slid the papers out and read the top page. His heart started beating more quickly. "Are these?"

"I told you I'd sign the papers if you wanted me to." John said.

Taylor looked through the papers and swallowed hard.

Rod left them alone. He patted Taylor on the back and squeezed his shoulder.

Taylor ran his finger over the name and chewed his cheek.

"Unless you didn't want them." John said, unsure how to read Taylor's face.

Taylor stood up and hugged John.

John was stiff and then relaxed and put his own arm around Taylor's back.

"Thank you." Taylor choked out. He remembered John offering to make things legal but then he hadn't said anything else. He would have been okay not sharing a last name with Sam, Dean and Kate but man, it felt good. He swallowed hard and stood up straight. His eyes drifted toward the doorway and he chewed on his cheek.

"Jo knows." John said.

Taylor looked back at John. "What?"

"Dean said that you would be worried that Jo would be sad if you changed your last name again. So, he asked her. She is happy about it and you have it as your middle name still." John said.

Taylor fully relaxed and smiled. "Thank you."

John chuckled and clapped him on the back. "Thank Dean. I wouldn't have asked Jo." He didn't stiffen with the second hug and put a hand on the back of Taylor's head. He didn't know why it was such a big deal to Taylor. Sure, it made him fit in better but the kid was so much more desperate than Kate had been.

"Can I show Kate?" Taylor asked.

"Yeah, it isn't a secret so go for it."

Taylor grabbed the papers and walked swiftly to the kitchen. He hugged Jo first and showed her the papers.

Jo was happy for him. "It was really hard not to tell you on the drive up here."

Taylor asked her again if she cared that Harvelle got moved to his middle name.

"No. It doesn't matter what your last name is, legally. You have both of them now." Jo said.

Kate slid over. "What is it?"

Taylor showed her the papers and nearly fell when she hugged him.

"Now you can blame all temper flares and cockiness on the last name," Kate said with a giggle.

Jo laughed. "Sorry, that goes with Harvelle too."

Taylor stepped back. "That didn't come from your mom's side?"

Jo grinned. "I got a double dose of it."

Andy was kneeling on a chair eating bits of a Christmas cookie. He reached over and patted Caleb's arm. "You should ask them how they did that."

Caleb chuckled and ruffled Andy's hair.

Dean snorted. "You were worried about being pushy and moving too fast."

Caleb smirked. "I know." He gave Andy a wink and squeezed April's hand.

Jess liked seeing the family having fun and sweet moments. Her previous meeting with the crew revolved around demons and Kate nearly dying. She helped Marie with the rest of the meal and asked Sam to get plates.

The table was crowded but the conversation was comfortable. Even John didn't mind it.

Dean enjoyed teasing the younger ones and sharing stories. He loved seeing them happy and the food was amazing. He had a voice in the back of his head telling him that things were going too well. They were too happy. Things were too easy. Things were going to get bad, but when?

Kate could tell that Dean was distracted at times. She stopped him after they were done eating and asked what was wrong.

"It is nothing." Dean said and ruffled her hair.

"Lying isn't nice." Kate said.

"You should be having a good time. I'll be okay." Dean said.

Kate crossed her arms and blocked his path. "Don't be a hypocrite, Dean."

Dean sighed and sat down. "Things are going great. We have had a string of good news and good days and in the back of my head, I'm worried that the other boot will drop."

"That seems to be our luck. Maybe the other boot will drop. Worrying about it won't change anything. Today is good. Let's just focus on that." Kate said.

Dean hugged her. "I'm supposed to be the one talking you down."

"You get to do that all the time." Kate said. "It's okay to need a pep talk."

"Don't grow up on me." Dean said.

Kate smiled. "I'll try not to."

Andy was a ball of energy after eating and wanted to see everything. "Do you have baby goats? What about cows? Do you have horses? Are the dogs nice? Do they do tricks? Can I ride on the four-wheeler?"

Rod's eyes twinkled. "Yes to all of that but you have to ask your mom about the four-wheeler."

Andy found April and pulled on her arm. "Can I please ride the four-wheeler?"

April groaned. "I don't know if that is a good idea."

"Please? I'll be so careful. Taylor can drive."

Taylor raised an eyebrow. "I can?"

Andy gave him a look that pleaded cooperation.

Taylor chuckled. "I don't mind taking him."

"You can hook the sled to it too but you have to watch the little ones." Rod said.

Kate bundled Ian in a snowsuit that someone gave Marie and made sure his hands and feet were protected.

Ian looked like a starfish and he was less amused than everyone else was.

Kate carried him outside and promised that she'd take care of him.

Caleb sat down on the couch with April next to him and wrapped an arm around her. "Andy isn't going to want to leave."

Marie sat down across from them. "We adore the little ones. It has been a very long time since we've had the opportunity to spoil any. When we fostered, we took in teenagers."

"Your home is beautiful and those teenagers were so blessed." April said.

Marie smiled as she thought about them. "We had one boy from the time he was 14 until he graduated. He now owns a house on the south side of our land."

"That is amazing. Was he at risk?" April asked.

"Yes. He got kicked out of a few group homes and truly, he only needed to be heard. He got married this spring and he seems happy. He's a hard worker." Marie said.

Dean leaned his head back in the rocking chair he was in. He had dreams when he was a kid about the exact situation he was in at that moment. He could feel the Christmas spirit, even at his current age. He sat forward as he got an idea. "Hey, Bobby."

Bobby opened his eyes. "Yeah?"

"If another hunter needs to drop off a kid, what are you going to tell them?" Dean asked.

Bobby grumbled. "That I learned my lesson with the lot of you."

Dean raised his eyebrows at Marie. "It doesn't happen a lot but some hunters have kids. Dad used to drop us off at Bobby's if he had to be gone longer than a week or so. That is what happened to Kate. It is hard finding a safe place for your kids when most people don't know about the supernatural."

Marie's eyes brightened. "You just send them my way."

John looked up from his journal. "I didn't drop you off that much."

Bobby fully opened his eyes and scoffed. "Your boys just about bankrupted me with how much they ate." There was no malice in his voice.

John smirked and went back to his book.

Bobby snorted and looked at Marie. "If that is something you really want to do, I can put the word out."

Marie nodded. "I will talk to Rod but he is usually on board with anything I cook up. Our door is open to weary travelers. I just ask that they be trustworthy if you send them here."

"That is so nice. See, Bobby, she doesn't even complain." Dean said.

Bobby smacked the back of his head. "She didn't have to put up with your smartass."

Marie suddenly remembered gifts. "April, would you mind coming with me? My ladies group rounded up some gifts and I want to make sure you are okay with them."

April followed her. "The boys don't need anything."

"It is Christmas and they are all dying to hear all about it." Marie said. She opened a door and ushered April inside.

April gasped. "Oh. Oh that is too much."

Marie waved her hand to say it is okay. "You don't have to accept everything but it was gifted by different people. The bike has been around for a while but all of Susan's grandbabies outgrew it."

April blinked away a tear.

"Oh, honey." Marie said and hugged her. "I don't want to upset you."

April wiped her face. "No, you aren't. I am just so blessed and so grateful." She looked at the gifts and saw a few that Andy would love. "He has gotten so spoiled lately."

Marie smiled. "He's a sweet boy."

"When he wants to be." April said affectionately.

"That's a boy for you." Marie said. "Taylor said that Ian likes cars."

April looked in a box. "Oh, he will love these."

Marie motioned for her to sit down. "I don't mean to pry but Andy seems determined for Caleb to stick around."

April nodded. "He keeps asking questions and wanting to know if I'm going to let Caleb stay forever."

"You look unsure." Marie commented.

April looked at her hands and sighed. "I'm scared. My ex was abusive. I didn't know it at first but looking back, I should have known. I'm so scared of going through that again. I'm also scared that things won't work out and Andy will be crushed. No matter what I do, I'm scared."

"He's a good man." Marie said.

April looked up. "He has been great for us."

"Kate read him." Marie said.

April blinked. "What? Why?"

"She wanted to make sure that his intentions were pure. Caleb was part of her family first but she could feel your fear." Marie said.

"She told you that?"

"She did after I mentioned him seeming like a good person. She reads just about like Taylor does. If either one of them feels the least bit guilty they develop a neon sign above their head." Marie said with a smile.

"What did she see?" April asked.

"Well, you'd have to talk to her for details but she said that he didn't view you the way that Dean viewed most of the female population." Marie said.

April laughed. "Oh, Kate. Dean calmed down after meeting Lacy."

"That is what I heard. I'm just an old woman so take my advice or leave it but I was very young when I met rod. I had a boyfriend before him that broke me. Rod was different. He was kind and never asked me for things I wasn't ready to give him. He was patient and I love him a bit more each day, even though we have been together for decades."

April fumbled with a toy car in her hands. "That sounds like Caleb."

Marie held out a gift bag. "You just tell me what you want to be wrapped and I'll do it."

April felt lighter. She was in a good place in her life. She just had to let herself be happy. "If the boys get too spoiled to handle, I can just drop them off here."

Marie smiled brightly. "Absolutely."

Andy held onto the bars of the four-wheeler and let Caleb steer. He laughed wildly when Taylor did a donut and slung snow. He wanted to go fast but Taylor was being cautious. "If I fall off, the snow is soft."

Taylor laughed. "Not if you hit it hard enough. I think Caleb would strangle me if you got hurt."

Andy nodded. "Good point."

Kate tied the sled to the back of the four-wheeler and sat down with Ian in her lap.

Taylor went slow but Ian's laugh told him that it was fast enough. He pulled them all over the yard before announcing it was Andy's turn.

Kate got a very upset Ian off the sled and let Andy on. "Hold onto the handles."

Taylor was a bit rougher with Andy, taking turns so the sled whipped around.

Andy tumbled off and laughed hysterically before running to get back on.

Kate put Ian on another sled and pulled him around by walking. That seemed to appease him.

Jess and Sam stepped outside to watch and Jess leaned her head on Sam. "Doesn't that make you want a baby?"

Sam kissed her. "Not yet. We can just borrow Ian."

Jess squeaked when he kissed her neck. "Sam." She whined.

Ian fell back on the sled and giggled. He tried to get up but the snowsuit prevented that.

Kate sat him back up and continued pulling the sled around. Any time she stopped, he fussed. "Good grief, you gotta give me a break."

John stepped outside too and made Jess jump.

Sam nodded to acknowledge him.

John watched the kids and smiled a little. "Have Dean or I ever told you about your first time sledding?"

Sam turned around. "No."

John sat down in a rocking chair and chuckled at the memory. "You were a little older than Ian. Dean had been sledding up and down this hill with a boy he met at the motel we were at. He wanted to take you on the sled and I told him to wait and go down a different hill. I stepped inside to get a blanket or something and hear Dean yell. He put you on the sled and pushed you down the hill, then when you didn't stop because of how light you were, he tried to run after the sled. Both of you wound up face first in a snowbank. He tumbled down the hill like one of those movies where the guy turns into a snowball."

Sam laughed. "What did you do?"

"Laughed my ass off and hauled you back up the hill." John said.

Sam saw the twinkle in his eye and thought that was one of the few times he was amused when they were younger. "I bet if you ask Dean, he will say I got on the sled by myself and he was trying to save me."

John nodded. "Most of the time he did."

Andy wiped out again and rolled across the ground. He stopped on his back and felt snow hitting his face.

Taylor shut the four-wheeler off and checked on him. "You okay?"

Andy grinned. "I want to do that again."

Taylor chuckled. "I don't think your mom would like that very much."

Andy was attacked by Goose who wanted to make sure he was okay. He turned his face when the dog licked him. "I want a puppy."

Taylor helped him up. "Goose isn't a puppy. He is older than I am."

Andy patted Goose on the head. "Maybe you can talk my mom into getting me a puppy."

Taylor held his hands up. "That is on you. I like staying out of the drama." He felt of Andy's face. "We need to head back inside. "You are an iceblock."

Andy groaned. "I don't want to."

"We will come back out here. I promise. I don't want you getting sick."

Kate brought Ian inside and peeled his snowsuit off. He was sleepy and his little nose was cold.

Ian started to go to April but spied Bobby and patted his leg.

Bobby picked him up and let him lay his head down. He put a blanket over him and patted his back.

Caleb looked at Ian's face and chuckled. "He's asleep."

April offered to take him to his crib.

Bobby shook his head. "He's fine right here."

"He is like a baby duck that imprinted on you." Kate said.

Bobby narrowed his eyes.

"No, it is cute." Kate said. "Grumble all you want."

Andy wedged himself between April and Caleb and shoved his cold feet under Caleb's leg. "It is cold out there."

April kissed the top of his head. "Did you have fun?"

Andy grinned. "Yeah! Taylor.."

Taylor made a zipper motion across his mouth.

"Taylor drove very slow and I didn't fall off." Andy said.

April scrunched her nose and ruffled Andy's hair. "That's good. I'd hate to have to beat him up."

Andy tried to wink at Taylor but he wasn't very good at it so he just blinked both eyes.

Taylor winked and gave him a thumbs up.

Jo called Ellen and told her about all the fun she was having. "Thank you for letting me come. I miss you."

Ellen smiled to herself. "It beats Christmas here with drunk hunters. I'm glad that you are having fun." She got off the phone with Jo and carried two beers over to a table.

One of the men shut his journal when she walked over. He sat back and crossed his ankle over his knee. "Thank you, Ellen."

Ellen nodded. "What brings you out this way?"

"Working as always." The man said.

Ellen knew the hunter and didn't trust him. He was a good hunter but a wildcard.

Ash stopped her as she went back behind the bar. "Who is that guy? He was here yesterday too."

Ellen sighed. "Gordon Walker."

"Is he a friend?" Ash asked.

Ellen shrugged. "I wouldn't call him that, why?"

Ash leaned on the bar. "He was awful interested in who Jo's brother was."

Ellen looked at Gordon and made eye contact with him. She gave him a forced smile and tapped the bar with her fingers. "Find out what he knows."

"Could he just want to know because he didn't know she had a brother?" Ash asked.

Ellen filled a mug with beer for another table. "I want to know how he knew to ask who her brother was when I don't go around broadcasting that she has a brother."
