Kate looked at the calendar. "We only have three days."
Dean sighed. "I guess time flies when you are talking about ripping a hole in space and time."
Kate scrunched her nose. "It's a tiny little door, that's all."
Castiel went back to Karen's heaven to talk to her about her choice. He appeared directly behind Dean.
"Son of a... Cas, personal space!"
Kate grinned. She wasn't sure if the angel really didn't understand personal space or if Dean's reaction amused him. "What is the news?"
"She said yes." Cas said.
Kate hugged him. "That's awesome!"
Castiel slipped a piece of paper into Kate's hand and stepped back.
"So now we tell Bobby." Dean said.
"Tell me what?" Bobby asked.
Kate spun around. "Hi."
Bobby raised an eyebrow. "What are you two doing?"
Dean stepped into his office. "You'll need to take a seat for this one."
Bobby sighed and sat down.
"Older me and older Taylor are able to walk back and forth through time. I was having visions that I didn't understand. Cas helped me understand. In the vision, I was seeing time. Long story short, there is a 'spell' that will create a passageway so that Taylor and I can time travel one day. Time isn't linear so there's a whole speel about why this needs to be done now when they are already able to do it. They aren't. Well, they are but that is in the future."
Bobby put his cap on his desk and rubbed his head. "What?"
"Would you like the short version and then the technical stuff later?" Kate asked.
Bobby nodded.
"Once I knew what was going on with my visions, Cas helped track down the information we needed. John and Dean have both been in the loop since we found out." Kate said.
"Why am I just now hearing about this?" Bobby asked.
"I'll get to that." Kate said. "The ingredients are specific. We need blood from an archangel and a soul touched by hell. I happen to have both of those. We did loads of research and Cas has gotten literature from various places. February 27th is a full moon but it is also the closest the moon will be to earth."
Dean squeezed Kate's hand.
"There is a stream that exists outside of time and space. I've seen it in visions but that is where our older selves pass through time. For this stream to be accessible, we will need a door. So this spell will open the door. The complicated part was that we have to pull a soul from heaven."
Dean took over. "The soul had to have specific qualifications. That would make this soul rare and nearly impossible to find. Then, the owner of the soul would have to agree to leave heaven."
"What would happen to the soul?" Bobby asked.
"The act of pulling the soul would create the gap we need. The person would remain on earth and live out a natural life just like any other human." Kate said.
Bobby rubbed his chin. "Again, why am I just now hearing about this?"
Kate grimaced. "The soul has to be pure yet touched by pure evil. They had to die at the hands of the person that loved them most. There are a few other things but those are the big ones."
"And?" Bobby asked.
"Well, my thought was that someone who died an eon ago wouldn't agree to come back because they had nothing to come back to." Kate said.
Bobby sat forward. "So are you going to be able to find someone or not?"
"We did." Kate said.
Bobby gave her a look.
"Karen."
Bobby sat back and slowly ran his hand down his face. "Excuse me?"
"Karen. She has a pure soul but was possessed." Kate said gently. "You had to kill her because of the demon. You loved her more than anyone."
Bobby had a catch in his throat and couldn't respond.
"I asked the guys not to say anything because we weren't sure if the spell was even kind of possible to do. We waited until we knew for sure." Kate said.
Bobby blinked. "Doesn't she get a say in this?"
Kate stepped behind Dean. "We talked to her."
Bobby leaned to the side to make eye contact with Kate. "Don't think I won't wallop both of you. Hiding behind Dean isn't going to save you."
Kate gave him a sheepish smile. "There was no harm in it. If she didn't want to do it, she would forget that we ever spoke to her and she'd just go back to her heaven."
Bobby rested his elbows on his desk. "So what are you saying?"
Dean pulled Kate from behind him. "She's saying that we might be able to bring Karen back."
Kate frowned. "Are you mad?"
Bobby choked up. "No. I..."
"Need a minute." Dean said.
Bobby nodded.
Kate followed Dean outside. "What if I messed this all up?"
"You didn't." Dean said. "That is a big thing to have dropped on you. He will need a few minutes to wrap his head around it."
Kate sat down on the porch swing. "I want him to be happy."
Dean smiled. "He just isn't the type to jump up and down and clap his hands."
Kate rolled her eyes. "You guys suck." She pushed the swing with her feet. She knew that her older self had given Dean a necklace and she needed it. "Taylor and I both need a pendant to help us cross back."
"Huh, that must be what you gave me." Dean said.
"That would make sense." Kate said.
Dean pulled the pendant from his pocket. "What about Sam's?"
"Cas can pick it up." Kate said. She had an idea for the pendants but she couldn't share that with anyone.
Dean looked at Kate. "I wonder when the last time Bobby washed his bedding was."
Kate tilted her head. "Why?"
Dean smirked, "If my long lost wife was coming back from the dead, I think I'd want my sheets clean."
Kate's mouth dropped open. She rubbed her eyes. "I'm going to need bleach for my brain."
Dean laughed. "I'm sure Bobby would appreciate it if you and Taylor got the house a little cleaner than it is."
"You could help." Kate said.
Dean ruffled her hair. "I've got other stuff I need to do."
Kate stepped back into the house and tentatively looked into Bobby's house.
"Kate, come here." Bobby said.
Kate bit her lip and slowly walked to his desk.
"What is the likelihood that she will get to come back?" Bobby asked.
"It is likely. Nothing is for sure. That is part of why we waited to tell you. I didn't want to crush you if it doesn't work." Kate said.
Bobby took a shuddered breath. "I don't even know what to say."
"You don't need to say anything. I know it is a big thing."
Bobby thought that was an understatement. He didn't want to get his hopes up either. It was a dream to have Karen back but he never thought it would come true.
Kate could see him struggling with the emotions. "I've seen pictures of you when you were younger. You may want to shave the scruff."
Bobby swatted her with his hat. He chuckled and got up.
"Taylor and I can spruce the place up a bit." Kate said.
Bobby also thought that was a good idea. "What day is it?"
"Three days to go." Kate said.
Bobby rubbed his head. "You couldn't have waited?"
Kate scoffed. "I wanted to!"
Bobby put an arm over her shoulders. "What all do you need for this spell?"
Kate showed him the papers. "Where do you want to do it?"
(February 26th)
Kate held both pendants in her hand. She had spoken, in secret, to Cas and was only moderately confident that she could pull it off.
Taylor was hearing of her plan for the first time. "Kate, why the hell haven't you told me about this?"
Kate sighed. "It only works for one person. I can't look him in the eye and tell him. Do you know how hard it is to choose?"
Taylor shoved his hands into his pockets to keep himself from fussing with them. "He will understand."
They were in school so that they could keep up appearances. With the full moon being the next day, they could skip.
"Making us come to school is cruel." Kate said.
Taylor chuckled. "If we missed school every time we had something this major happening, we'd miss half the year."
"I've got to make another trip with Cas." Kate said.
"Everyone is at Bobby's house. I don't know how you plan on doing that." Taylor said.
Kate chewed the side of her finger. "Is there any chance you want to cover for me?"
Taylor blinked slowly. "I don't think you realize how bad I got it after the barn incident."
Kate grimaced. "This is different."
"It is still a secret." Taylor said.
Kate couldn't argue with that. "Do you want me to erase that part of your memory?"
Taylor groaned. "No. Somebody has to know what you are doing."
"Cas knows." Kate said.
"If this backfires, then you can erase my memory." Taylor said.
Kate smirked. "They'd assume I told you."
"Well, maybe you didn't." Taylor said.
John had returned to Bobby's house and was sitting at the table with Dean. "Do we know what kind of reaction this is going to have? Do we need to worry about a beacon being lit?"
"I have no idea." Dean said. "You would think that angels, at least, would be able to tell that a soul is missing from heaven."
Kate had numbed Bobby a little because, understandably, his nerves were shot. He was aware of what was going on but his heart wasn't beating out of his chest. "I suspect that Castiel thought of that."
Kate was able to make a snappy trip with Cas. Most of her correspondence was through letters so Cas could help things along without her. "This will work, right?"
Castiel looked at her. "It should."
Kate rubbed her hands together. "Great, it should."
Hardly anyone slept that night. Nerves were high, although the prospects were positive. They didn't have to wait until nighttime to begin preparations. Once the moon was at it's peak, the window would start closing. There was very little time where the vail was thin enough to journey to and from heaven in one's physical body.
"Bobby and Dean will stay here in the house, making sure nothing happens to that sigil." John said, going back over the plan.
"Yep, that will be the tethering point." Kate said. She painted the sigil that she had found on the paper, written behind the words. "Cas will lead the other three of us into heaven. Then, we will find Karen and ask her again if this is something she wants to do."
"Since Kate is painting that with a mix of our blood, we will be the only two people that can open it." Taylor said.
Dean wanted to be the one to go with the kids but John had taken that space. He understood but he was still antsy.
"Cas will open and close the door from heaven's side." Kate said.
With everyone on board, John handed Kate the paper with the spell written on it.
Kate held onto Taylor's hand and felt John's hand on her shoulder. She said the words on the paper and shoved it into her pocket.
Nothing happened for a moment.
Kate fidgeted and reached her hand toward the sigil.
A bright light flooded the room and pulled John, Taylor and Kate through the portal.
Dean looked at Bobby. "I guess now we wait."
Everything was white, unlike it had been when Kate and Taylor had been to heaven before. "Cas?"
Castiel touched Kate's arm. "I'm here."
"Where is Bobby's house?" Kate asked.
"You entered heaven in your own body. You have to use doors from now on." Castiel said. He walked along a hallway with thousands of Karens' names posted to the side of the doors. He found the right one. "Taylor, you will need to draw your portion of the sigil."
Taylor worked on the intricate lines that he needed to draw on the doorknob. One wrong line would not allow the door to open.
Castiel looked at Kate and nodded, sending her and John away from Karen's door.
John whipped his head around. "What the?"
Kate grabbed his hand. "It's okay."
John walked down a hallway and turned. "Where are Taylor and Castiel?"
"They are still at Karen's door." Kate said.
John grabbed Kate's arm and gave her a stern look. "What is going on?"
Kate swallowed. "I made a slight change to the plan." She squeaked. "Hear me out."
John let go of her arm and crossed his arms. "Talk quick."
Kate bit her lip. "When we came to visit Karen the first time, I left a note with Cas. I'm sorry that I did it behind your back. I hope you'll understand why I did."
John narrowed his eyes.
Kate sighed. "I can't bring Mary back. I wish I could. It kills me that I can't do for you what we are doing for Bobby. You and Dean and Sam deserve having her back." She wiped a tear from her eye. "I want to give you, what I thought may be the next best thing."
John looked at her. "What is that?"
Kate gently touched his elbow to turn him around. "Closure."
John stared at the door in front of him. "Mary Sandra Winchester."
Kate gave him a weak smile. "You told me that you feel like you have failed her." She handed him the pendants. "Put these in your pockets."
John didn't move.
"She knows you are coming." Kate said.
John blinked.
"I explained everything to her. Well, not everything. I can only write so much in a letter. You will have time to visit with her and talk to her. I promise, she won't hate you. I just hope you won't hate me for this." Kate said.
John picked her up in a hug and squeezed her.
Kate leaned into the hug and patted his arm. "You don't have long. It will feel longer than it is. Castiel will come get you when the time is up. Tell her I said hi, okay?" She saw that John wasn't moving toward the door. She gently turned the doorknob and put her weight into shoving him toward the door. Once he was through the door, it shut behind him. She sighed. She prayed to Cas and found herself outside of Bobby's house.
Taylor gave her concerned eyes.
"He went." Kate said.
Taylor let out a huge breath. "What did he say?"
"He was a little quiet. He popped my back though." Kate said.
John walked through the door and saw his old house at the end of the sidewalk. He wiped his hands on his pants and told himself to man up. He stopped outside the house and steadied himself. As he walked up the steps and went to open the door, it opened and Mary jumped and wrapped her arms around his neck. He felt like his legs were going to give out. "Mary."
Mary was confused when an angel brought her a letter that told her she was in heaven and Sam and Dean were grown up. "John." She let go of his neck. "Come in."
John stepped through the door and memories hit him like a ton of bricks. "This is your heaven?"
Two little boys ran from the hallway, yelling and laughing at each other.
John felt his heart start to break.
"I guess this is heaven for me. Sam, Dean, come in here." Mary said.
John got big hugs from both boys.
"Daddy!" Sam said.
Dean hugged him too. "Dad, I finally fixed my Hotwheels tracks. You have to come see!"
John sighed. "I'll be in there in a minute, okay?"
Sam and Dean ran up the stairs and the sound of kids jumping on a bed drifted down to the living room.
"How old are they here?" John asked.
Mary smiled. "Sammy is four. Dean is eight."
John sat down on the couch and bounced his leg as he calmed himself. "The boys are grown now."
Mary sat down beside him. "That is what the letter said. The angel in the trenchcoat touched my head and showed me a few things."
John couldn't stop staring at her. It had been over eighteen years since he had seen her alive.
Mary took his hand in hers. "He said that you would have photos."
John felt of his jacket pocket. He wondered if Kate had reverse pickpocketed him. "Huh, I didn't know these were in my pocket." He pulled a small stack of photos out and showed Mary. "This is Sam now. He's eighteen. He will be nineteen in May. It is February for us. Dean just turned 23. This is him."
Mary recognized the boys although they had no trace of the boys upstairs. "We made some handsome boys."
John smiled. "Sam got into Stanford. He's out in California now. He has a girlfriend named Jess."
Mary traced Sam's face. She had missed so much. "Stanford is an amazing school."
John sighed. "Yes, it is. He is so smart, Mary. He got in on a full ride."
Mary let a tear fall. "I'm so proud of him." She looked toward the stairs. "He's smart at four."
John nodded. "Dean has a girlfriend named Lacy. He stays around the house mostly." He couldn't bring himself to tell her that he was a hunter.
Mary studied the photo. "Is he a mechanic? That is all Dean talks about."
John let out a shakey breath. "Mary, things didn't go the way that we thought they would. Things happened."
Mary put the photo down and turned to John. "What happened?"
"You died when Sam was a baby. Do you remember what happened?" John asked.
Mary shook her head.
"Now this is all going to sound crazy but a demon tried to get to Sam. It killed you when you tried to protect him." John said. His voice broke at the memory.
Mary got some of her memory back. "Why did a demon attack him?"
John swallowed. "A demon named Azazel was running experiments on children. Sam just happened to be one. He was cured, so he doesn't have any demon blood in him." He expected Mary to have a bigger reaction.
Mary met his eyes. "Did this demon have yellow eyes?"
John startled. "Yes. Do you remember?"
Mary sighed. "I had met him before. What happened after?"
"I went mad with grief. I found out about demons and the rest of what is out there. Mary, I'm so sorry. I started hunting. The boys grew up to be hunters." John said. He lowered his head and avoided her eyes.
Mary's heart twisted. "Oh, John."
John apologized again.
Mary grabbed his hand. "John, I never wanted the boys to grow up like that."
John started to try to explain but stopped. "What do you mean?"
"I came from a family of hunters." Mary said.
John froze. "What?"
"My dad was a hunter and so was his dad. I got out of the life." Mary said.
John squeezed her hand. "You never told me."
Mary looked into his eyes. "I got out."
John processed that new information and shook his head. "I never knew. When did you meet the demon?"
Mary gave him a sad look. "Do you remember the night that my dad died?"
John nodded.
"You died too. That demon possessed my dad and killed you. He said that he could bring you back. I didn't feel like I had a choice."
John shifted. "You made a deal."
"He just said he'd be back in ten years. I wasn't thinking clearly, John." Mary said.
John did the math. "Sam."
Mary broke down a little. "This was all my fault."
John put his arms around you. "No. Mary, this wasn't your fault."
"I made the deal." Mary said.
John sighed. "I have blamed myself for everything. I wasn't the best dad a lot of the time. I raised the boys like soldiers. I messed up a lot. Did you meet the person that sent you those letters?"
Mary dried her eyes. "She sent them by the angel."
John looked at the photos and found one of Kate on Dean's back. "That is her."
Mary smiled. "They look so happy. Who is she? She looks so young. Those letters were... not something someone that young would write."
John chuckled. "Her name is Kate. She is eleven right now. She is something else." He explained how Kate wound up at Bobby's house and who Bobby was. "She is glued to Dean's side."
Mary looked through more photos. "It looks like it."
John shared some of Kate's finer moments and laughed with Mary. He started explaining the family trees and what Kate was. He pulled out another photo. "This is Taylor." He explained Taylor's history as well.
"Those poor kids." Mary said. "So they are all connected?"
"Yes." John said. "So, if you hadn't made that deal, the powers that be would have found another way to get to this."
Mary relaxed. "Where are they now?"
"Somewhere else up here. Kate worked with Castiel to figure out how to find a place that exists outside of space and time." He gave her the short version of that story.
Mary was amazed. "So Bobby is her family now?"
John put his hand on hers. "She and Taylor have our last name. I signed adoption papers but I hunt a lot."
Mary smiled. "I told you we needed a girl."
John laughed. "I remembered you saying that. She is a handful."
Sam ran and jumped on the couch and into John's arms.
Mary pulled Dean into a hug. "Dad is telling me stories about some friends of his."
John rested his chin on the mop of curls that was Sam's head. He shared all the stories he could remember. He knew Cas would return to tell him it was time to go but for that moment, he didn't want to be anywhere else.
Kate stood beside Taylor. "Is she ready to go?"
Taylor filled Kate in on what had happened so far. "I hope this works."
Kate swallowed hard. "It has to."
Karen insisted on changing clothes. She put on a pale yellow dress. "This was Bobby's favorite."
Kate told her that she looked beautiful. "Are you sure you want to do this? Things are going to get rough on earth."
Karen smiled. "Yes. I know my Bobby, he isn't his best self without me."
Taylor snorted. "He's grumpy."
Dean looked at his watch. "This is taking too long."
Bobby shook his head. "Time is different up there. It just seems like a long time to us."
The house started shaking and caused both of them to jump to their feet.
Kate held Karen's hand. "Dean is going to be there with Bobby. He's going to ask where we are. If this works, we will be at the stream. He will know what we mean."
Castiel waved his hand and a wooden door appeared. "Assure Dean and Bobby that I am still with the children."
Kate stopped Karen. "Uh, bend your knees. Landing is a bit like jumping out of an airplane."
Karen gave her a warm smile. "Thank you."
Dean and Bobby covered their ears as a high-pitched ring came from the portal. Light-filled the room and caused them to turn their backs.
The room was suddenly silent and Bobby turned around. He froze and couldn't move.
Karen stumbled. Kate was right about the landing. "Bobby?"
Bobby couldn't speak. Although the research was done, he didn't believe that she would be able to come back. "Karen?"
Karen closed the gap between them and hugged Bobby.
Dean cleared his throat. "Where are the others?"
Karen shook his hand. "You must be Dean. They are at the stream. The angel is with them."
Dean could tell that Bobby was about to break. He tilted his head to let him know it was okay to leave the living room.
Karen led Bobby to the kitchen. "I can't believe it is really you."
Bobby was still in shock. She was perfect. She smelled just like she always did.
Karen hugged him again. "Here." She followed the instructions that Kate had given her and placed the palm of her hand over Bobby's heart.
Bobby felt his whole body tingle and the chronic ache in his back and knees left. He watched the laugh lines around Karen's eyes deepen slightly. "What are you doing?"
Karen smiled. "Darling, you've aged and I haven't. I think Kate put it eloquently. People around town would wonder how you snagged a young woman like me."
Bobby touched the side of her face. "Did you give me part of your life?"
"Kate said that I wouldn't lose what life I had left. I'd just age slightly." Karen said.
Bobby put his arms around her and pinched his arm.
Karen patted his arm. "It is really me."
Bobby shook his head. "This can't be real."
"Sit I'll make you something to eat." Karen said. She looked around the kitchen. "Some things have changed."
Bobby blushed.
Karen kissed him. "I'll figure it out. Tell me what I've missed."
Kate held Taylor's hand. "I'm totally not freaking out."
Taylor gave her a forced smile. "Good, because I'm totally not freaking out either."
They closed their eyes and stepped forward.
Kate nervously opened her eyes. "This is it. It is just like my vision."
Taylor looked around. He saw the stream and the orbs. He picked one up and saw a memory of Kate's birthday party.
Kate viewed a few memories too. "It worked." She gave him a big hug. "It friggen worked!"
Castiel waited outside Mary's door. The longer they were in heaven, the more likely they would be to be found.
"We have to go." Kate said. "I left John in Mary's heaven."
Taylor walked back through the vail with her.
They ran down the hallways until they saw Cas.
Cas knocked on the door before entering. He motioned for the kids to follow him.
John had been able to spill his transgressions to Mary and Kate was right, she didn't hate him. He felt truly at peace. He answered the door and welcomed the trio inside.
"Hi, we don't have much time but Sam and Dean are awesome. Thanks for making them." Kate said and hugged Mary.
Mary laughed. "You are exactly as I pictured." She hugged Taylor too. "You two go save the world. Oh, and make sure my boys stay safe."
Kate grinned. "I'm trying my best."
They walked back through the door and John felt a mixture of peace and grief. He felt of his pocket.
Kate held her hand out. "It worked."
John gave her the pendants. "What did?"
"A human soul is powerful. I didn't take part of her soul so keep your hands to yourself but the warmth from her is in the pendants. If all goes to plan, when the boys hold them, they'll feel like they are being hugged by their mom." Kate said.
John raised an eyebrow. "Keep my hands to myself?"
Kate grinned nervously. She took his hand. "Uh, gate is closing, we've got to go!"
Dean felt his body relax when they stumbled from the portal and the light went away.
Kate jumped to hug him. She felt awful. Her heart was shredded. She had been happy but seeing his face made her break down. "I'm so sorry."
Dean sat down and rubbed her back. "Hey, what is this about?"
John didn't know either. "Kate?"
Kate knew that Dean would never forgive her.
Taylor cleared his throat. "When she found that loophole for you, she could only let one person go."
John understood. He put a hand on Kate's back. "Katie, you have to calm down."
Kate couldn't. She had been so tense hoping that everything worked out and her walls came crashing down.
Dean looked to John for an explanation.
John's eyes moistened. "She and Castiel were working on the down low. I saw your mother. I was able to talk to her."
Dean gasped.
Kate dug into his flannel. "I'm sorry!"
Dean patted her leg. "Breathe, kid."
"I think she thinks that you will be angry that she could only swing that for one person." John said. He held up a pendant.
Taylor stopped him. "That one is Sam's."
John couldn't tell the difference. He handed the other to Dean.
Dean looked at the pendant. "This is the one that older Kate gave me."
Kate hiccuped. "Look through it."
Dean held the pendant closer to his face and smiled. "What is this?"
"Her.. her.." Kate shuddered. "Favorite memory with you."
Dean squeezed her. "Thank you."
Kate wiped her face. "Put it to your chest."
Dean held the pendant to his chest and felt a sense of peace flow over him. He smiled contentedly.
"Those soaked up a bit of the warmth and love she radiated. It is supposed to be like a hug." Kate said. "I'm so sorry. He needed closure and I." She started crying again.
Dean sighed and popped her on the leg.
Kate shot off of his lap. "Ow!"
Dean held his arms out for her. "Stop freaking out. I'm not angry at you."
Kate frowned. "Then why'd you hit me?"
"It made you mad just long enough to get you to listen." Dean said with a chuckle.
"I would have loved to see her but you are right. Dad needed closure. This necklace means so much to me. I'm not angry at you." Dean said.
Kate sniffled. "Do you promise?"
"Yes." Dean said. He pressed the pendant to her chest. "Do you feel anything?"
Kate nodded. She gapsed. "Karen?"
"In the kitchen with Bobby." Dean said.
Kate sprinted into the kitchen and slipped on the rug. She righted herself. "Hi!"
Karen smiled and held her arms open.
Taylor joined them. "So, Bobby, what do you think?"
Bobby didn't say anything. He just crushed Taylor in a hug. He did the same to Kate.
"He's got a frog in his throat." Karen said.
John told Dean some of what Mary told him.
"Mom was a hunter?" Dean asked.
"She came from a family of hunters."
Dean nodded in approval. "Mom was a badass." He met John's eyes. "Uh, I mean a respectable lady."
John lightly tapped the back of his head. "I want to call Sam for this next part."
Sam was waiting for that phone call. He knew what was going on and hated that he was so far away.
Kate prayed to Cas and held the pendant out for him.
Sam heard the doorbell and answered it. "I have a box."
Kate told him to wait to open it.
John explained how he got to see Mary.
"Okay, now open it. Look through it and then hug it." Kate said.
Sam chuckled. He looked through the pendant and gasped.
"That is your mom's favorite memory with you. In heaven, you were four so it may be from then." Kate said.
Sam showed Jess. "Hug it?"
"Ugh, yes, Sam. Hug it." Kate said.
Sam awkwardly hugged the pendant and his eyes lit up. "That is amazing."
Kate explained what the feeling was and sat back.
They caught up and shared things they had saw.
Sam said hi to Karen and promised to visit soon.
John cleared his throat. "While I was talking to Mary, she admitted that her family hunted. This bit is something that I haven't shared yet."
Dean looked at him intently.
"Mary's maiden name was Campbell. She said that there was a Campbell family, hidden storage unit that had all of the lore that her father and his father collected."
Bobby perked up. Lore was always interesting.
"She said that there was a book of the Campbell family heritage that dated back to Scotland in the late 1600s and early 1700s." John said.
Kate, Taylor and Dean all caught on at the same time.
"It isn't just a family tree. She said, as she remembered it, it was also stories passed down from person to person."
Kate excitedly shook Dean's shoulder. "Oh my god!"
Dean grabbed her in a head lock. "Calm down."
Kate struggled against him. "I can't!"
"Wait where is this storage unit?" Dean asked.
John pulled a slip of paper from his jacket. "I wrote it down."
Taylor looked at the paper. "Road trip?"
John smiled. "Road trip."
