Dean shifted his weight to the front of the porch swing. "It has been more than a week and he still hasn't said anything." He said into the phone.

John was on the other end. "How is he doing in school?"

"Kate said he doesn't talk there either but does the work. I tried to get him to stay home but he packed his backpack and got on the bus. When he's home he is either driving arrows into a target or in his room." Dean said.

John had been around for a few days before getting a desperate call from another hunter. "Just keep an eye on him. People handle these things in different ways."

Kate had tried to talk to Taylor too but he was a brick wall. She couldn't even get him to talk in his head. He had a wall up there as well. He was like the shell of who Taylor used to be. She leaned against the fence. "Bobby said he was going to take you bow hunting." She got no response.

Taylor took a sip of a drink and sat it down before hitting the target again.

Kate tilted her head. "Is that.." She tried to grab the cup but Taylor pulled it away. "Oh my god, are you serious?"

Taylor downed the rest of it and picked up another arrow.

Kate smelled of the cup. "If they found out you took this, I can't imagine they'd be happy but I get it. I know for a fact, though that one of the top rules is not to drink and use a weapon."

Taylor sighed and just looked at Kate.

"Talk to me. Please." Kate said.

Taylor loaded the gun that Bobby loaned him for target practice.

Kate squealed and grabbed it. "No! That will for sure bring Dean over here and he will smell the alcohol right away. How much did you drink?"

Taylor just motioned to the cup.

"An entire cup?" Kate asked in disbelief. "Do you feel anything? I guess it would probably be harder for us to get drunk. Taylor, this is a bad road to go down. I'm going to go wash this out and pretend I didn't see any of this. I'm taking the gun back inside. Go shower because you smell like a bar."

Taylor stared at her blankly. He finally shrugged and walked away from the fence.

Kate groaned and picked up his bow and arrows too. Maybe covering up the drinking wasn't a good idea but he really had been through a lot. Pretty much every male figure in their lives drank so it wasn't a huge stretch. She just wished he would talk. He just needed a little more time.

Dean said hello to Taylor when he walked onto the porch but was met with silence. He sighed. When Kate ran up the steps he gave her an odd look. "Why do you have all of that?"

Kate swallowed. "He is tense. I told him to go take a shower and I'd put everything away." She skated by Dean and sat the bow on the table so she could get rid of the alcohol first. She washed the cup and put it in the drainer to dry. Then she unloaded the gun and made sure it was clean. She put the bow away and went back outside to collect the arrows that were in the targets. She jumped when the gravel crunched behind her.

"You are jumpy." Dean said.

Kate nodded. "Still out of sorts too."

"Has he said anything?" Dean asked.

"No. Not to me. Not to Nate either. I keep trying and he just looks at me or ignores me." Kate said. "I can't even read him."

That didn't sit well with Dean. "Let me know if he does."

Kate hopped over the fence and collected arrows. She noted that his grouping wasn't great. That told her that he was either out of it from stress or from whatever was in the cup. The adults had put up with the lack of talking and slamming doors. They all understood that he was having a hard time. Dean would probably not be too mad about Taylor drinking but she had a feeling that he was walking a fine line.

Taylor felt like his head was floating. His vision was a little blurred and his ears were ringing. School helped because it forced him to think of something else. When he was home, especially at night, all he could hear was the sound of David's neck snapping. He wasn't sure that guilt was what he was feeling. Maybe it was finality. Punching someone came with a weight but killing someone was different. People could heal from punches but not death. David deserved it and would have kept hunting him down and hurting people until Taylor was dead instead. Maybe part of what was bothering him was that a huge obstacle in his life was no longer a problem and he didn't know who he was without it. He didn't know what to do anymore. He didn't know where to go.

Marie and Rod were rightfully upset after the ordeal. Neither of them thought Taylor was wrong for what he did. David would have turned around and hurt or killed both of them and likely Krissy too. They tried to reach out to Taylor but he kept his phone off. They got their updates through Dean or Kate.

Krissy had nightmares for a few nights about bad men coming into the house and grabbing her. She really missed Lee.

Thankfully, Lee was due to be out in a few days and would be able to reunite with his daughter.

Caleb was also in the loop. The entire story sounded awful. When Andy wanted to go to Bobby's house, he told him no. Taylor needed space.

Dean left Bobby's house to help Caleb move from the apartment to the house.

"How are things over there?" Caleb asked.

Dean sighed. "That kid is wound so tight that a fly could set him off. He won't talk. He barely eats. I don't even think he sleeps."

"How are you?"

Dean thought about it. "I'm okay. I have lost some sleep too. Seeing dad get shot and Taylor get shot took the wind out of my sails for sure. Taylor had a stab wound too. He barely reacted to it. I'm fine but seeing almost my entire family in direct danger has kept me up a little."

"Ian fell and hit his face on the coffee table a few days ago. For two nights I kept waking up and thinking about what would have happened had he hit the corner or landed wrong. Andy scared the life out of me running off. Those are small things. I understand though."

Dean rubbed Ian's head. "I don't think you have to worry about him hitting his head. He seems thick-skulled enough." He tweaked Ian's nose and pulled his hand back when he got bit.

Caleb picked Ian up and sat him down on his bed. "No biting."

Ian fell over sideways and wailed unhappily.

Dean looked at him. "Huh, who knew 'no' was like 'Christo' to babies?"

Caleb rolled his eyes. "Every single time he gets told no he acts like we've beaten him."

Dean supported the weight of the top bunk so Caleb could loosen screws. "He is going to be so much fun when he is a little older."

Caleb chuckled. "That is when Uncle Dean gets to come over and babysit." He shoved the screws in his pocket. "You should know that Andy told his gym teacher that you are his uncle and his brother so the guy may think that our family tree doesn't fork."

Dean snorted.

Andy shoved toys into a box. "It gets confusing."

"Family doesn't end in blood, buddy." Dean said. "Although, I think Caleb is a bit like a brother. I'm far too old to be your brother."

"Kate is a kid." Andy said.

"Yeah, but she is 12. If you add in Sam and Taylor, the gap isn't that big. Besides, as an honorary uncle, I get to sneak you sugar before dinner and let you steer the car when cops aren't around."

Andy grinned. He did like that idea.

Karen brought hot chocolate upstairs to Taylor. She offered him a snack and left it on his desk. "I know you don't feel like talking so I won't bug you. I just want you to know I'm here and have gotten much better at typing and responding to texts. If you want anything I don't mind if you do that."

Taylor gave her a slight raise of the side of his mouth to let her know he heard her.

Karen patted his leg and left the room.

That night, everyone sat down around the table to eat dinner. There was conversation but it was quiet and subdued.

Taylor picked at his food and got up to wrap his plate for later. He didn't want to eat but he wasn't going to waste food.

Kate heard something when he stood up and whipped her head around to look at him. She narrowed her eyes and forced herself to return to her food. When it was time to go to bed she went to her room and sat down on her bed. Taylor was already asleep. She saw his jeans on the floor and patted the pockets. Maybe she hadn't heard anything. She was able to get a brief read on him since he was so deeply asleep. She found that odd. Had exhaustion finally gotten him? She paused. No, her read wasn't clear. It was a feeling. She had felt it before. She looked along his desk and in his backpack. She found nothing. She slowly slid her hand under his pillow and felt something. When she tried to pull her hand back Taylor woke up and grabbed her arm. She covered her mouth to muffle a yelp.

Taylor sat up and looked at her. He squeezed her wrist to get her to drop what she had in her hand.

Kate rolled her wrist when she got it back. "What are those?" She crossed her arms. "Show me or I will tell Dean and you'll have to show him."

Taylor rolled his eyes and placed a bottle in her hand.

Kate read the label and felt her hands start to sweat. "What the hell?" She looked at the bags around Taylor's eyes. "Did you take these to help you sleep?"

Taylor nodded.

Kate opened the bottle and counted the pills. "How many?"

Taylor shook his head.

"Dammit, Taylor. I am trying to help you but I can't if you don't give me anything. Did you get these from the med cabinet? You did. I'm going to return them because I know exactly how Bobby feels about us touching the meds." Kate rolled her eyes and shook her head. She crept down the stairs. Dean was in the shower. She could hear Karen's voice and assumed that she and Bobby were in their room. She swallowed hard and made it to the kitchen without being seen. She quietly moved a chair over and opened the cabinet. She reached up to place the bottle back in an empty spot and nearly fell when the lights turned on.

"What in the hell do you think you are doing?" Bobby demanded.

Kate's mouth dropped open. "This is not what it looks like."

Bobby took the bottle from her hand. "What were you doing with these?"

Kate gritted her teeth and took a deep breath. "I uh... Taylor can't sleep."

"So you thought you'd just take these? Did you not learn anything from the last time you pulled this crap?" Bobby asked.

Kate's cheeks turned pink. "I was going to ask first."

"If you were going to ask, you wouldn't have been sneaking around in the dark. You would have talked to me and asked if I had anything." Bobby said.

Kate felt trapped. She couldn't tell him that Taylor stole them. It looked bad. It looked like she had stolen them and was trying to lie about it. "Bobby, please."

"Did you give him any?" Bobby asked.

Kate hesitated. She technically hadn't. He had taken them. She didn't know how many. "N-no sir."

Bobby opened the bottle and counted them. He tilted it so that she could see. "Are you sure about that?"

Kate shifted her weight from foot to foot. "This looks bad. I know. I promise I didn't. Besides, they probably wouldn't work for us since we have abilities."

Bobby studied her. "Are you covering for him?"

Kate's eyes flew open. "What? No!"

Bobby sighed and put the chair back under the table. "Katelyn."

Kate shook her head. "Bobby, he didn't do anything. I'm the one that knows a bit about meds and what each one does."

Bobby grabbed the heavy ruler from the top of the refrigerator and told her to bend over the table.

Kate gave him a pitiful look. "Bobby, please."

"I know you are lying one way or the other. I'm going to give you ten with this thing and send you to bed. If I find out that you are covering for him and he is doing something dangerous, it's going to be a whole lot worse. If I find out you are lying and not admitting that you took the pills, it is going to be a whole lot worse. I just want you to think long and hard tonight about how important honesty is." Bobby said.

Kate ran up the stairs when Bobby let her go. The swats hurt a lot but weren't enough to bother her the next morning. As annoying as it was, they did make her reconsider helping Taylor hide things.

Taylor sat up and looked at her.

Kate flicked the light off. "I got caught putting the pills back, jerk."

Taylor wanted to apologize. He felt guilty.

Kate heard his 'I'm sorry' in her head and was glad that her back was to him. She smiled slightly. She was mad at him still but those were the first words she had heard from him since the fight with David. She narrowed her eyes. She wondered if Bobby assumed that would happen and thought making her an example was a good idea. Screw that. There she was being good for once and she still winded up in trouble. If she was honest with herself, she knew that she wasn't helping Taylor by hiding things. Shit would eventually hit the fan and she'd wish she had told someone sooner. Taylor was smart though. He could pull himself together.

### ###

Mercifully, another week and a half slipped by without incident. Taylor wasn't talkative but he did speak. He swore he was okay. He just had bad dreams and wanted space.

Bobby got Taylor to talk a little bit when they went hunting. They tagged two deer and brought them back to the house to process them.

Dean looked in the bed of the truck. "I can already taste the deer jerky."

Bobby snorted. "Boy, you didn't lift a finger to earn the jerky."

Dean pulled his knife out. "I will do absolutely anything for the jerky."

Kate wasn't interested in skinning a deer. She could simply tell Karen that the boys weren't sharing and she'd make them give Kate a fair portion. That was the benefit of having a woman in the house.

Caleb and April's house was beginning to look like a home. The walls had new paint and photos of the family were hung in several places.

Kate was tasked with painting one of the walls in the kids' bathroom. Andy was certain that he wanted dinosaurs with swimming gear and rubber ducks. She asked Caleb and April if they were sure that it was okay. She loved that the couple was allowing Andy to be creative and make his spaces unique. She used a pencil to sketch out the entire scene. She added a few extra things but didn't point them out. They'd have to wait until the paint was on the wall.

Sean dropped Owen off at the house. He and Jody were going to celebrate their anniversary and wanted to go to dinner. "Owen, be good."

Owen nodded. "I will."

Sean stopped him and crouched down. "I mean it. No running off or acting out. Caleb has permission to deal with you if you get into trouble here."

Andy spun around and gasped. "What?"

Caleb nodded. "Same goes for if you are at their house."

Owen and Andy traded looks. "How is that fair?"

"If you get into trouble together you can face the consequences together." Caleb answered.

Andy shrugged. "Come on, let's work on the treehouse."

Sean shook his head. "Good luck."

Caleb smiled. "Have fun." He went upstairs to see how Kate's mural was going. "Those are some bright colors."

"Hey, I'm following a seven-year-old's vision." Kate said.

Caleb squinted his eyes. "Is this t-rex wearing a Led Zeppelin shirt?"

Kate looked at him. "You mean the Dean-osaur?"

Caleb laughed. "He is going to skin you."

Kate grinned. "Not if you don't point it out. Let it take a few years."

Caleb nodded his head. "That is true art."

Bobby fired up the smokehouse to cure deer meat.

Karen helped cut it up once it got to the kitchen. They would be set for quite a while.

Dean washed his hands and knife off. "Were both of these bow kills?"

"Yep." Bobby said. "Taylor dropped both of them."

Dean nudged one of the sets of horns with his boot. "How'd you get this sucker back to the truck? That is the biggest rack I've seen in person."

"Also Taylor," Bobby said.

Dean looked at the deer and then at Taylor. "Did you drag it?"

"No." Taylor said.

Dean furrowed his brows. "How on earth did you carry that?"

Taylor raised an eyebrow. "I lifted with my knees."

Dean blinked. That was the first bit of sarcasm that he had heard from Taylor in weeks. He snorted. "Now I know you can carry me around on your back."

Taylor turned around and motioned for Dean to jump on his back. He spun around and shrugged Dean off.

"Nothing?" Dean asked.

Taylor shook his head. "That just means next time we spar, you can't rely on your size."

Dean scoffed. "I never rely on my size." He heard Taylor mumble something. "What did you say about my ego?" He asked as Taylor walked away.

Bobby chuckled. "I guess he is feeling better."

Dean leaned against the house. He chuckled too. "I can't even get mad at him. I'm just happy he's talking again."

### ###

Another week went by. Taylor seemed to be in better spirits. He was talking again and only shut down at night.

Kate was almost finished with the painting. If she didn't have school, she could get it done sooner but Dean said that dinosaurs were not a valid reason to skip school.

The month of May meant Sam had a birthday. He assured everyone that he wasn't going to be sad if they celebrated when school was out. "I don't need a party."

Kate leaned on the table to get closer to the phone. "You only turn 19 once Sam."

Sam laughed. "How about I promise to let Jess take me out?"

Kate rolled her eyes. "Is she aware that you are supposed to be woken up by being deafened by music?"

Jess grinned. "I forgot about that!"

"Can you guys spend a few weeks here this summer?" Kate asked.

Jess sighed. "My parents want us to spend time here."

Kate shrugged. "I can compel them." She yelped when Dean smacked her. "Jesssss Dean hit me."

"Dean, your sister is very sweet and was just offering to make my life easier." Jess said in a sweet tone.

Dean shook his head. "She can't run around compelling people all the time."

"Be nice to her. She is still my favorite." Jess said.

Dean threw up his hands. "When she gets too full of herself, you and Sammy can deal with her."

Kate smirked in satisfaction.

Jess laughed. "Sam and I would love to hang out with her if it gets too boring over there."

The weather was warmer which meant kids were outside more often. Kate talked April into taking her shopping because all of her summer clothes were too small.

Dean tossed April a bundle of money. "Better you than me."

April was fun to shop with. She understood fashion.

Kate got several summery dresses. She figured that she could conceal a weapon if needed and that made the article of clothing useful. She also got some tank tops and shorts. She had been nervous about wearing shorts because, although the scars on her leg were gone, they were still there in her head. She grabbed some jean shorts without really looking at them and tossed them in the cart.

"You need to try everything on," April said.

Kate groaned.

"You need to have something to wear to school still. So, some of it needs to follow the dress code. You also just guessed for sizes." April said.

Kate tossed a pile of clothes into the dressing room. She slipped a dress over her head and spun around. She walked out to show April. "Is this too girly?"

"Honey, you are a girl. I think it is pretty. It looks comfortable too." April said.

Kate shrugged. "I got this one in two colors."

"Toss them out and I'll add them to the keep pile." April said.

She tried on jeans and t-shirts and tank tops. She found two pairs of shorts that she liked and tossed them to April. She found the jean shorts near the bottom of the pile that was left. She pulled them on and looked in the mirror. They were a whole lot shorter than she meant for them to be. They were the kind of shorts she saw high school girls wear during the summer. She turned around and chewed her cheek. They did make her look good. She had been a string bean but maybe year twelve would come with a curve or two. She chewed on her thumbnail. There was no way she could wear them to school. Dean would probably freak out about them. She smirked and added them to the keep pile.

April used the cash to pay for the stack of clothes. "What kind of shoes?"

"Tennis shoes," Kate said.

April helped her pick out a few pairs. "You should be set for the summer."

"Except for a bathing suit." Kate said. She looked at the rows of swimsuits. Some were one piece. Others were two pieces. Some had skirts and some didn't.

April saw her looking at the more risque options and turned her to the rack that wouldn't cause Dean too much emotional damage. "I love the ones with the skirt. Then, if something shifts, you are still covered."

Kate thought that was a good idea. She picked out two and paid for those as well. By the time they were done, she was exhausted.

Taylor went to Nate's house to hang out with him. He was laying on Nate's bed when Nate walked back into the room. "What is it?"

Nate held up his phone. "I have an in with some of the high schoolers. They are planning a party when school ends."

Taylor sat up. "What kind of party?"

"A high school party." Nate said.

Taylor wasn't the party type of person but he'd go if Nate did. "When?"

"Dude, I don't know. I just got the message." Nate said.

The next day, Kate and Taylor rode the bus to school. Kate had put on one of her dresses and sandals. She felt cooler than when she had on jeans.

Ellie found her at lunch. "That boy over there is checking you out."

Kate blushed. "No, he isn't."

"Yeah, he totally is. His name is Logan. He is new." Ellie said. "He is in Nate's class."

Kate met eyes with the boy. He had an intense gaze. She broke eye contact and looked down at the table. Sure, boys had noticed her a time or two but none had looked at her like that. Was it the dress? Was she finally starting to look pretty and not just like a little kid?

As days went by, school got more chaotic. The teachers referred to it as summer-itis. The closer that summer break got, the more rowdy and unfocused the kids became.

Andy and Owen were stuck together like glue during the day. They even hung out most days after school. One day, Sean or Jody would pick them up and another day April or Caleb would. Andy thought that Owen was what it would be like having a brother that wasn't a baby.

April picked both boys up and could instantly tell that their energy level was far higher than she had the energy to deal with. She took them to the park and let them run until their faces were red. She checked the time. Caleb would be off work soon and she needed to get food on the stove. Ian was cranky and probably hot. "Okay, boys. We need to walk back to the house."

Andy frowned. "Can we stay five more minutes?"

"No. Ian is hot. I need to start food." April said.

Owen tagged Andy and ran to stand beside April.

April reminded them not to take off running. "We need to walk together."

Once they were inside, both of the older boys ran to play in Andy's room for a while before going outside.

April gave Ian a bowl of cold strawberries and let him watch a cartoon.

Caleb got home and could smell the food from the door. He walked in and dropped his shoes at the door. "It smells amazing babe."

April walked around the corner. "Having a full-sized kitchen is amazing."

Caleb entered the kitchen. "Where are the boys?"

April pulled the curtain to the side. "Playing in the tree."

Caleb could see Andy's shoes and Owen's head. "I'm waiting for them to ask to camp out there."

April gave the boys a time warning. "Five minutes and then you boys need to be washed up for dinner."

Andy leaned so he could see the window. "Okay, mama."

A few minutes later Caleb stepped outside to tell the boys to go inside. He heard something hit the fence and looked into the tree. "What was that?"

Andy nearly fell from the tree. "Just a rock."

"Don't throw rocks from the tree." Caleb said.

Andy looked at Owen. "Okay, dad."

Owen and Andy ate two helpings of chicken and Owen had an extra side of potatoes.

"I thought boys didn't drain your pantry until they got older." April said.

Caleb rubbed Ian's head. "I think we are all just born with hollow legs."

After the boys helped clear the table, they let them go back outside.

Caleb poured April a small glass of wine and opened the windows to let the breeze in. "How was your day?"

April sipped the wine. "Ian and I just worked on the house and then picked the big boys up."

Caleb let Ian climb into his lap. "Have you taken a good look at the bathroom?"

April tilted her head. "Why?"

"Kate finished it. She hid a 'dean-osaur' in there." Caleb said.

April put her glass down. "Where?"

Caleb chuckled. "I'm not telling you. You'll have to find it."

April ran up the stairs and looked at the wall. She finally found the t-rex with the band t-shirt and flannel. She laughed. "I love it."

Caleb patted Ian's leg. He heard something outside. "Hold on bubba, I need to check on those two."

Ian took Caleb's seat and swung his legs so it would rock.

April smiled at him and squeezed his hand.

Caleb stepped outside just as something sailed over the fence and hit the fence of a house a few doors down from them. He cleared his throat. "Both of you, out of the tree, now."

Andy jumped down, followed by Owen.

"That wasn't just a rock." Caleb said.

Andy paled a little.

Caleb opened the back gate. He motioned for the boys to follow him and walked down the fence line. He found a broken piece of concrete. "Is this what that was?"

Andy shrugged.

Caleb looked at him. "Son, you do not want to lie to me right now."

Andy traded looks with Owen. He looked down at his feet. "Yes, sir."

Caleb looked from the fence to the tree. "How did you throw this that far?" He tossed it up a few inches and caught it. It was pretty heavy. He looked at the house that the fence surrounded. He slowly turned back around. "This is Jimmy's house isn't it?"

Andy just stared at Caleb.

Caleb pointed to their house. "Show me how you got this all the way over there."

Neither of the boys wanted to.

Caleb put his foot on the wooden board that served as the first step of the ladder to get into the tree. He saw a blue band and stepped up another step. He grabbed it and pulled against it. It was a workout band. He slowly closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Andy, go to your room. Take Owen with you." He took a photo of the setup to show Dean later on. He was not happy with the boys but he was also a little impressed. He cut the band from the branches and carried it inside.

April looked at Caleb. "What happened?"

"They made a slingshot big enough to send this hunk of rock over the fence." Caleb said and showed her the rock.

April sighed. "Why would they do that?"

"Well it hit Jimmy's fence so I'd assume they have a bit of a war going on." Caleb said.

April covered her mouth. "Oh my god."

"I am going to go talk to them." He handed her the camera. "That took some planning. Sometimes being the one to crack down on them sucks."

April gave him a small smile. "Good luck with that."

The boys were talking quietly when Caleb opened the door. Andy stood up. "Dad, can we talk about this when Owen goes home?"

"We are going to talk about it now." Caleb said. He pulled a chair out and spun it around so the back would be against his stomach. "Andy, why was there a band in the tree?"

Andy wrung his hands. "Every fort needs protection."

Caleb closed his eyes. "So that was a weapon?"

Andy's mouth dropped open.

"Are you supposed to mess with weapons?" Caleb asked.

Owen spoke up. "It wasn't a real one."

"If it wasn't real, it wouldn't have been able to fling a rock as far as it did." Caleb said.

"That was unexpected." Andy said.

"Were you trying to hit Jimmy's house?" Caleb asked. He sighed heavily when he didn't get an answer. "Owen, are you allowed to have a weapon or touch a weapon without an adult?"

Owen just looked at him.

"If I call your mom or dad and ask them that question, what are they going to say?" Caleb asked.

Owen sighed. "I'm not supposed to."

Caleb pinched the bridge of his nose. "Andrew, what were you told the last time you touched a weapon?"

Andy frowned deeply.

Owen didn't want his friend to get in trouble and blurted out, "It wasn't a real weapon. We didn't touch the real ones. We didn't want to hurt Jimmy, just the bad guys."

Caleb held his hand up so Andy would keep his mouth shut. "What bad guys?"

Owen shuffled his feet. "The familiar."

Caleb slowly looked at Andy. "Where did Owen get that idea?"

Andy glared at Owen.

"Andrew, did you tell him about the familiar?" Caleb asked.

Andy still didn't answer.

"Are there other bad guys, Owen?" Caleb asked.

Owen blinked. "We just wanted to protect Ms. April if the black eye guys showed up."

Caleb wondered how much Andy had shared with Owen. He bit the inside of his cheek because he wasn't sure he wanted the answer. "Owen, what real weapons were you talking about?"

Andy covered Owen's mouth and tackled him. He rolled him toward the wall and looked at Caleb. "I didn't let him touch any of the guns. Holy water isn't a weapon. You even let me have that in my room."

Owen leaned to the side. "Neither is salt."

Andy's face told Caleb that he knew that sharing that kind of information wasn't parent-approved.

Owen looked from Caleb to Andy. "Don't be mad. He didn't even let me go in the closet."

Andy grinned sheepishly.

Caleb crossed his arms over his chest. "Andy, did you go into the closet?" He tilted his head when Andy clasped his hands together and closed his eyes. "Are you... are you praying?"

Andy slowly opened his eyes. "I'm gettin' right with god."
