CHAPTER SEVENTY-FOUR: FIRE & HELLFIRE DRAGON

Acnologia, Igneel, and Atlas Flame had a stare off with one another while both Natsu and Sebastian were lost for words. "That's Igneel?" Lucy questioned. "And wait, wasn't that the dragon that came from the Eclipse Portal?"

Levy was supporting Gajeel, who had stopped pulsating and was breathing heavily. Acnologia charged forward as Igneel and Atlas Flame did as well, their heads slamming into one another.

Natsu began to tremble as tears were coming from his and Sebastian's eyes. "Dad..." The two muttered as Acnologia, Igneel, and Atlas Flame circled around one another.

"What did he mean, 'inside of you'?" Juvia asked.

"Don't tell me that inside of Gajeel, too..." Levy glanced at Gajeel.

"My heartbeat... is normal again." Gajeel said.

At Black Sun, Jade was able to regain her breathing as she had stopped pulsating and carefully stood up from the ground.

"Jade, are you all right?" Helena questioned.

Kida rushes over and gives Jade a glass of water, who accepts it and sips it before setting the glass down on the table.

"Yeah, I think so..." Jade responded.

"What the hell happened to you?" Zane asked.

Jade glances at him. "I wish I had an answer." She replied.

Sting and Rogue also stopped pulsating as they both breathed heavily, still clenching onto their chests.

"Are you okay, Rogue?" Sting questioned.

"Yeah." Rogue answered. "More importantly, where did the man with the book go?"

"Now that you mention it..." Sting trailed off, realizing Mard Geer was nowhere to be found.

Mard Geer was watching Acnologia, Igneel, and Atlas Flame battle it out as a satisfied smirk grew on his face.

Wendy had finally stirred as she sat up. "Wendy! Are you all right?" Carla questioned.

"Yeah..."

Orion kneeled down next to her. "Don't exhaust yourself." He said.

"I won't." Wendy gave him a smile before she looked at the sky. "Carla, that's..."

Acnologia roared as Igneel and Atlas Flame did the same.

"What's going on here?" Cana wondered.

"The black one is Acnologia, right?"

"The fiery dragon was the dragon from the Eclipse Portal. What about it's companion?" Reedus asked.

"There are other dragons?"

"I don't get it, but it looks like the two other dragons are fighting Acnologia?" Macao questioned with uncertainty.

"Acnologia is the enemy, right? Then what about the other ones?" Romeo asked.

"What is that?" Cana said.

"Allies?" Wakaba guessed.

Kyoka was also staring up at the sky. "Dragons..." She mumbled.

"Acnologia..." Erza muttered.

"What should we do? Has it come here for us?" Happy questioned.

"I doubt it, but at this rate, it's possible all of Magnolia will be annihilated." Lily answered.

"Why, at a time like this...?" Lector wondered.

"And there are three of them." Frosch added.

"Their strength is beyond anything humans can handle." Minerva commented.

"The dragons that are fighting Acnologia... Fire?" Mira said.

"Fire Dragons..." Happy mumbled.

"It couldn't be..." Erza realized.

"What... What the hell is happening?" Kyoka asked herself. "Mard Geer-sama..."

"The wings of darkness, Acnologia... The king of the Fire Dragons, Igneel... and the Hell Flame Dragon, Atlas Flame... I will not allow you to interfere with my plan." Mard Geer places a hand against his face. "Instead, the plan has been revised. All three of you will perish."

Acnologia, Igneel, and Atlas Flame continued ramming into each other.

"You, of a forgotten species."

"Are you okay, Gajeel?" Levy asked Gajeel.

"What the hell is goin' on here?" Gajeel wondered. "Hey! Salamander! Sebastian! Is that Igneel and Atlas Flame? What did they mean, they were inside your bodies?!"

"How the hell should we know? Don't ask us." Sebastian snapped.

"All this time... I've been looking for him all this time." Natsu mumbled.

"Sebastian... Natsu..." Lucy muttered.

Sebastian lights his foot on fire before flying in the air as Natsu followed. "What the hell... Atlas?!" Sebastian exclaimed.

Atlas Flame looked at Sebastian. "Idiot. I said we'd talk later!" He reminded.

Sebastian landed on Atlas Flame's back. "We're talking now, old man! Why'd you suddenly disappear?! And you were in my body the whole time?! Do you know how freaky that is?!" He began firing questions as Atlas Flame sweatdropped. "Where are Gajeel, Wendy, and Jade's dragons?! What happened on July 7th, 777?! Answer me, Atlas!"

Acnologia charged forward once again. "Quiet!" Atlas Flame shouted.

Atlas Flame fired a breath of flames that conjoined with Igneel's that went straight for Acnologia as Lucy shielded herself while Gajeel shielded Levy.

"It's hot!"

"Get back!"

"Th-This is..." Juvia started to say.

"Seriously?!" Elfman exclaimed.

"Incredible heat..." Lisanna said.

"Wha...? Aren't we in trouble?!" Warren asked.

"Even though we're far away, it feels like my body's gonna melt!" Jet exclaimed.

"It's hot!" Droy added.

A large sphere of blue fire surrounded Acnologia as all of the Lummy's were lost for words.

"What flames... It's as if the sun itself has fallen." Cana commented.

"Hey, look!" Macao shouted.

"Acnologia is suffering!" Romeo noticed.

"I imagine he'll be helpless before the might of those flames." Wakaba said.

"Sh-Shouldn't we hide?"

"It's probably too late." Reedus replied.

A large fireball explosion soon appeared. "That's..." Erza started to say.

"...Fire and Hellfire Dragon's Roar combined." Happy finished.

"Those flames are unbelievable!" Lector exclaimed.

"Fro thinks so, too..." Frosch agreed.

"That's the power of dragons." Mira commented.

"Incredible..." Minerva stated.

The fire dimmed down as smoke was coming from both Igneel and Atlas Flame's mouths. "H-Holy shit..." Sebastian muttered, awestruck.

"No. He didn't suffer any damage at all." Atlas Flame claimed.

"Huh?"

Sure enough, Acnologia was unharmed as he roared loudly.

"It had no effect whatsoever?!" Lucy spoke in shock.

"Are you serious?" Gajeel questioned.

"Even though he was engulfed by those flames..." Levy said.

"If he didn't suffer so much as a scratch from an attack like that..." Juvia started to say.

"Is Acnologia..." Happy continued.

"...invulnerable?!" Erza concluded.

"Then what are we supposed to do?" Lector asked.

"Fro doesn't know, either..."

"All we can do is watch." Minerva claimed.

Acnologia flew back up in the air. "Sebastian!" Atlas Flame exclaimed, smoke coming out of his mouth.

"Huh?"

"You're in the way!"

"The hell do you mean, I'm in the way?!" Sebastian questioned in irritation. "Is that all you have to say after we finally reunited?!"

"I told you. We have a great deal to talk about, but that'll have to wait. You've got your own work to do with Igneel's son." Atlas Flame responded.

"Work?" Sebastian quoted.

"You belong to one of those guilds, don't you? Then consider me hiring you." Atlas Flame said. "Look down."

Sebastian did so, seeing that Mard Geer was watching. "The book that man is holding... It's the Book of END." Atlas Flame informed.

"END..." Sebastian muttered.

"Help Igneel's son get that book." Atlas Flame said.

"Why should I do that?" Sebastian questioned.

"Because you two are the only ones who can. Besides, he's the ringleader of all this fuss. That alone is enough reason to fight him, no?" Atlas Flame asked.

"He's the one..." Sebastian trailed off.

"Listen. Whatever you do, don't open that book. And don't you dare destroy it, either. Just steal it from him." Atlas Flame said.

"What's the reward?" Sebastian questioned.

Atlas Flame sweatdrops. "What?!"

"I ain't doing this shit for free, old man!"

"Fine then. Your reward is leaning everything you want to know."

"Then you've got yourself a deal." Sebastian agreed.

"Then go get him, Sebastian!" Atlas Flame exclaimed, throwing Sebastian towards Mard Geer as Igneel did the same with Natsu.

"Gotcha!" Sebastian shouted.

Sebastian and Natsu both charged forward at Mard Geer. "Who are you?" Mard Geer questioned.

"We're..." Flames came from Sebastian and Natsu's fists. "...Igneel and Atlas's sons!"

Sebastian and Natsu's fists collided with Mard Geer's, causing an explosion and making him skid back.

"The dragon's children?" Mard Geer quoted.

Sebastian sent a flaming kick towards Mard Geer with Atlas Flame doing the same against Acnologia.

"We're taking that book! We're gonna stop Face, too!" Natsu claimed, charging at Mard Geer with Sebastian doing the same.

"Oh?"

"But first we're gonna kick your ass!" Sebastian declared.

"Thorns!" Mard Geer shouted as both Sebastian and Natsu were maneuvering around the vines, making him widen his eyes.

"This is the first time they've seen my Curse power, but they can both dodge it?" Mard Geer questioned to himself as Natsu lit his fist on fire.

"Fire Dragon's..." Natsu started to say as Igneel's claw was covered in flames as well.

"...Iron Fist!" Natsu finished, punching Mard Geer while Igneel struck Acnologia at the same time as Mard Geer stumbled back.

"Sebastian!"

"Atlas!"

Both Natsu and Igneel called out to their partners at the same time.

Sebastian leaped into the air, igniting one of his hands. "Hellfire Dragon's..." He began as Atlas Flame's claw was covered in flames as well.

"...Crushing Fang!" Sebastian finished, swinging his hand in an arc as Atlas Flame did the same.

Mard Geer was sent flying back as well as Acnologia. Natsu and Sebastian both engulfed themselves in flames, making Mard Geer grin in amusement.

'Kyoka.' Mard Geer's voice was soon heard in Kyoka's mind. 'Can you hear me?'

Kyoka's eyes widened as she looked over towards Erza, who showed no reaction.

'Mard Geer-sama!' Kyoka exclaimed.

'The dragons are a nuisance. We're going to accelerate Face's activation. Right now you're in the control room, aren't you?' Mard Geer questioned.

'Yes. But... Keyes and Seilah were both defeated, so no one can animate the chairman.' Kyoka answered.

'No worries. If we're at the launch phase, then even you can hasten their activation.' Mard Geer claimed. 'The main lacrima is in the center of the control room. Form a living link between that and yourself.'

Kyoka widened her eyes. 'A living link?' She quoted.

'By becoming the Face activation key, you can accelerate its timetable.' Mard Geer explained as both Natsu and Sebastian were staring at him. 'Once Face is activated, not only will the wizards become powerless, but I expect we'll be able to steal the dragons' life force, too. And then we'll resurrect Master END. We'll win. So do it.'

'Mard Geer-sama... If I form a living link between this vast amount of Magic and my own Curse power... it will kill me.' Kyoka informed.

'What about it?' Mard Geer questioned, not bothered by the information. 'Do you fear death?'

Kyoka gasped, getting Erza's attention. Kyoka opened her eyes. 'No. If it's to fulfill Tartaros's long-cherished wish, my life is of no consequence.' She answered.

'Everything... is for Zeref!'

Kyoka launches her claws at Face's activation. "What are you...?!" Erza questioned, getting everyone else's attention as Kyoka launches herself at Face's activation.

Kyoka soon glowed green as multiple lights appeared.

"What is that?!" Lily asked.

"Some kind of markers?" Happy guessed.

"I have a bad feeling about this." Lector claimed.

"Fro thinks so, too."

The green glow soon disappeared from Kyoka's body. Kyoka soon stood up from her hunched position.

"These are the number of Face units across the continent. Living link established. Now I am one with the Face activation device." Kyoka announced.

"What?!" Erza exclaimed.

"Living link?!" Happy repeated.

"She merged with it?!" Frosch questioned.

"For what?" Lector asked.

"To speed up Face's activation?" Minerva questioned.

Kyoka smirked. "Now it's very simple. If you kill me, you stop Face." She informed. "Although I'll die anyway after Face is activated."

"That's some confidence. I assume you don't imagine yourself losing." Erza stated.

"Indeed I don't." Kyoka launched herself towards Erza. "You still don't know..."

Kyoka struck Erza. "...Kyoka, Slave Star Empress of the Nine Demons!"

Erza widened her eyes in shock. "My true, Etherious form!" Kyoka claimed.
