Chapter One

Ren raced through the halls of his family's manor. He had only just gotten the call and rushed straight here. Lynara, you have finally returned home. His beloved little sister was now home and he didn't know what kind of shape she would be in. No one knew that he had an adopted little sister. Or that she had been away at magical school and then in the midst of a magical war. Lynara Potter, the Girl Who Lived but in his eyes she was always his little bird.

It didn't take him long to reach his brothers study before he threw the door open only to stop dead in his tracks. There standing just in front of his brothers desk was Lynara and already he could see how badly the war she was in affected her. Her eyes, while bright, now held soul aching weariness in them. "Little bird." He didn't think twice as he shut the door and held his arms open for her. As much as he wanted to rush to her he knew he couldn't. She was no doubt still suffering from the war.

Lynara stared at her brother Ren and felt the tears well in her eyes. Without a word she launched herself into his arms and cried for all she was worth. Seiichiro and Ren were all she had left in her life and she couldn't be parted from them now. Her soul, her body, her mind, everything was hurting and weary from the brutal war with Voldemort. She lost too many and had needed to be home where she knew she would be safe and welcomed.

"I have you little bird." Ren said as he carded his fingers through her red hair. Holding her as he was allowed him to feel just how skinny she was. How she trembled in his arms and the way she clung to him as if she was afraid to let him go. "I have you." She deserves all the happiness in the world after the things she has no doubt been through. His eyes met his brothers and he knew that when he left Lynara was going to come with him. Ren would make sure that his friends and his little lamb would help him heal his little sister. Being in the Master Course now let them live away from the main Academy. So there wasn't a whole lot of people that would be in that big manor.

Seiichiro piled up his papers and stood up from his desk. "I called Shining Saotome while Lynara was asleep earlier. She will be joining you at that manor you are all using for your Master Course. I made it perfectly clear that his no romance rule won't apply to her. After all she has been through I think whoever she ends up with will bring her happiness." He gave his brother a pointed look and knew that Ren would make sure she was treated right.

Lynara pulled away from her brother Ren just enough to look between them both. "I don't think I will be ready anytime soon for romance. But I wouldn't mind living in the same place as Ren." She looked up at Ren as she clung to him all the tighter. "Do they know about me being magical?" She looked at Seiichiro as she asked knowing as the head of the family he had to pick and choose who knew about her heritage and who didn't.

Seiichiro sighed and leaned back against his desk. "Shining Saotome does as well as Ren's two teachers. Its up to you and Ren to tell those of STARISH and Haruka Nanami about it. I have also been advised that we should do the blood adoption before you both leave. As you have citizenship here in Japan as well as over in Britain. To better protect you, its best you become a fully fledged member of the family." She had been adopted into the family but because it was only through the mundane side. She had to continue using Potter in the magical world.

She wiped away her tears and nodded as she stepped away from Ren only a tiny bit. "I am ready to become Lynara Hope Jinguji. Little sister of Seiichiro and Ren Jinguji." She wanted a fresh start and she would get that here in Japan.

Ren pressed a kiss to his sisters temple as he let her go completely for now. "Lets get this done. I rushed out as soon as I got the call so everyone is no doubt worried about what had me doing such an out of character thing." He briefly ran a his hand through her red hair again before he looked at his brother. Seiichiro no doubt had the potion on hand and had only needed their blood to add to it. Thankfully this potion had been made for sibling adoption. Japanese potion masters knew how to brew specific types of blood adoption potions. While the magicals of Britain were still behind on the times.

Seiichiro pulled a vial out of his pocket and pulled the cork out. Then set it down on his desk and grabbed his letter opener. With a small cut he held his bleeding finger over the vial. Letting seven drops fall into the potion he then pulled his finger away and nodded at Ren.

Ren pulled Lynara over to their elder brother before he let her hand go. Then took the letter opener from his brother and did the same. Letting seven drops fall into the vial then pulle his finger away.

Lynara healed both of them before she took the vial and downed it quickly. Potions will forever taste horrid to her. Setting the empty vial down she swayed on her feet as tiredness swept through her. She could feel the magic of the adoption as well as her own guide the blood through her system. She could feel the small changes taking place both in and out of her body. And then darkness swept over her vision and she knew no more.

Ren caught his sister before he laid her out on one of the couches. Brushing her hair from her face before he sighed and looked at his brother. The sleep will last as long as is needed for the adoption. "She is far too skinny Seiichiro. And she was trembling as we hugged. Something happened to her and it wasn't good." He took a seat on the other couch as he dropped his gaze to his sisters face.

"I noticed as well when I hugged her. The minute she fell asleep I had a magical doctor come see her. The results we found had been...they weren't good Ren. Lynara is lucky to even be alive with all that she had been through."

"What was found?" He looked at his brother again and could see the pain and anger in those blue eyes.

Seiichiro spared their sleeping sister a look before he moved away from the front of his desk. Then sat down beside his brother and pulled out the results of the test run on her. He then handed it over to his brother but returned his attention to Lynara's face. Their little sister had been through hell and back. He would hurt anyone who dares to ever hurt Lynara.

Ren took the results and began reading through them. "Is there copies of this?" His eyes had turned to chips of ice the further he had read. Lynara, you have truly suffered and now you are in a safe place. He wanted to hurt the ones who did all of this to his sister.

Seiichiro crossed his arms over his chest as he took in the subtle changes of their sister. Her red hair had lightened until it was a just a shade darker than their own. "There are and that one is yours. The one thing I am more worried about is that she will be too closed off from anyone who isn't us. She didn't tell us but have you noticed that her owl isn't here." Hedwig meant everything to their sister and that owl was never too far from Lynara.

Ren lowered the list he had still been making his way through. "Hedwig means alot to Lynara. Which means that if the owl isn't here then she had died. But how isn't something we shouldn't pry into. Our little bird will tell us in time just as she will open up to others when she is ready." He folded the list up and slipped it into his pocket as he stood up. He would finish it when he was back at the Master Course Manor.

"She will be awake soon." Seiichiro stood up as well and walked back over to his desk. Opening one of the drawers he pulled out a phone and handed it to Ren. "This is Lynara's now. Its been programmed already so she doesn't need to have anyone's numbers."

Ren took it and nodded as he looked at their sister and held out a hand for Lynara. Just in time to see her wake up from her short nap. "Beautiful as always little bird." He may be a flirt and appreciate how a woman looks. But Haruka and Lynara were the two most important women in his life. One was his precious little sister and the other was a dear friend. For him romance was forbidden but that didn't stop him from feeling love of any kind. And now he had someone to look after while he made his career as an Idol and member of STARISH.

Lynara groaned as she fluttered her lashes before her eyes opened. Seeing Ren with his hand out for her she took it and let him help her up. "Its going to be a long road, I hope you are ready to become my protector more often." She wasn't even close to okay but she was going to try and not become a burden for her brother. "I have a request for you leo." She looked at Ren as her hand tightened in his.

Ren kept her hand in his and used his other hand to brush back her much lighter red hair. His eyes softened as he heard that oh so familiar nickname from her. She was his little bird, his Lyra and he was her lion, her Leo. "I am always up to being your protector Lyra. What is this request you have of me?" He could see the turmoil in her sea green eyes, the new coloring suited her better than the green did.

She bit her lip as she searched his eyes and came to a decision. "Play your saxophone when we get there?" She loved hearing him sing but his music with the saxophone was even more beautiful. Seiichiro and her both loved hearing Ren sing but she loved it even more when he played his favorite instrument for her.

"You got it Lyra. I will text Masato and tell him to gather everyone as well as to grab my case." Ren tapped her nose then looked at their elder brother. "We will be leaving now Seiichiro. You should visit us when you can."

"I will do just that Ren, Lynara. Be safe the both of you." Seiichiro walked up to their sister and pressed a kiss to her temple. "Heal and find love little bird." It wasn't often he would use his brother's nickname for her but it was fitting for her. She did love flying more than anyone else he knew.

"I will big brother Seichi." She reached up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. Then followed Ren out of the study knowing she was in safe hands now that she was home. Her fresh start in life started now as a fully fledged member of the Jinguji family.
