Ch.37
After Ron talked with Yori he dialed Felix's and his mom picked up. "Renton's, Mary speaking, how may I help you?"
"Hello Mrs. Renton, it's Ron. Can I talk with Felix for a bit?" Ron asked hoping it wasn't so late but not realizing the time difference from where he was and Middleton, Colorado.
"Sure one sec." Mrs. Renton says and Ron could hear her call Felix. "We missed you the last few days, is everything okay?"
"I got hurt on a mission." Ron admits. "If you want, when Felix comes to the phone you can put me on speaker while I tell him all about it. I also wanted both of you to be there when I ask Wade for help with the battery for the Nuero-Machine interface that we talked about. I figured we can outsource the battery to him since he made a great one for the Kimmunicator."
"Sounds good to me." Mrs. Renton agrees. "Here's Felix so I'll put you on speaker."
"Hey Ron." Felix greets once the phone is on speaker.
"Hey bro, I'm sorry I missed you the last couple days but I got hurt on the last mission." Ron greets and begins to explain how he got hurt.
Hearing the gasp of shock as he explained and answering the questions that both Renton's had, Ron moved the conversation to their project.
"And I was thinking that Wade's battery for the Kimmunicator was perfect for Neuro-Machine interface." Ron concludes.
"I'm fine with that." Felix agrees.
"As I said before, me too." Mrs. Renton adds.
"Great let's ask him then." Ron said and ask. "Hey Wade can you join the conversation?"
"Sure Ron." Wade chimes in then asks. "So what's this Neuro-Machine interface that you keep talking about?"
"It's a machine that will be able to send and recieve information directly from the brain." Ron said and elaborated. "The priority purpose would be to help people with hearing and sight disabilities, hear and see. You see as long as the problem is just the optical nerves or the hearing canal we can bypass those areas and send the information directly to the brain allowing them sight and sound. There's even benefit to those whose voice box has been compromised to allow them to communicate again." Ron passionately explained.
Wade was silent for a moment and Ron worried thinking that he might reject.
"Wow Ron, that sounds like some nextgen stuff." Wade commented and added. "I agree, I'll help out with the battery but you'll need to get the materials."
"Boo-yah!" Ron cheers.
"Woohoo!" Felix celebrates.
"Nice!" Even Mrs. Renton.
"Wade when I get back I'll need you to send me the information for the parts and I'll provide the funds." Ron stated already planning ahead. "Once I get back I'll clear out the garage and we can convert it into our work station, does that work for you guys?"
"No problem with me." Wade agrees.
"Same here." So does Felix
"Mrs. Renton?" Ron asks.
"Me too but I was wondering if I could get unlimited access to the garage?" Mrs. Renton asks and explains. "As you know, I have my job as the space center and there are time were I could be out fairly late or have an unexpected day off so I want to be able to go over and work on the project when I have the time."
"That's not a problem." Ron agreed. "I'll let my parents know and get you the necessary stuff so you can get in."
"Great that would help a lot." Said a grateful Mrs. Renton.
As Ron expected, the doctor gave him the okay to go home. He had even joked that he wanted to open up Ron again to study him after looking at his x-rays. Ron took that as a warning and promised himself to be more careful in the fututre.
Once discharged Ron noticed that he was under enough pain meds to question his balance so he was grateful for the wheelchair they provided.
At home, Ron had a hard time convincing Kim that Yori would look after him only successfully convincing her when he reminded her that she hadn't seen Josh in a while and that might affect their relationship. A bit sad at how quickly that got rid of her, Ron stood and asked Yori for a hug.
Spending a few minutes embracing each other out of nowhere must have concerned Yori for she asked. "Is everything okay Ron-san?"
"Yeah, just needed a hug." Ron admits and explains still not letting Yori go. "I told her how I felt."
"Oh." Says Yori waiting for him to continue.
"She rejected me." Ron admits and continues putting a bit more pressure into the hug. "I honestly expected the rejection, so it was no surprise there but..." Ron sighs. "I didn't expect the reason. I expected that she didn't want to risk our friendship, that she thought of me as family since we knew each other for so long, not that I wasn't a hottie."
"What a bitch!" Yori seethed in Japanese. "I can't believe she would say that."
Ron joined her in her native tounge. "I don't think she realizes that she said it aloud. She did try to set me down easy." Ron says not wanting to give the wrong impression of Kim.
Feeling Yori tighten the hug, Ron stayed like that a couple more minutes enjoying the comfort.

Shego had her phone in between her breast as she went over the hovercraft systems making sure everything was okay since she needed to get back to work. When the tune for Ron's numer went off she fished out the phone and answered in the blink of an eye.
"Ron! Great to hear from you." Shego greeted and continued. "I know some people and can get you a bullet proof vest, there's also the people in charge of designing my costume, they have fabric with bullet proof capabilities for dignitaries."
"Shego it's great to know that you were concerned but I want to know how you are at the moment?" Ron asks.
Shego teared up a little. "I'm a lot better now."
"Glad to hear that." Ron admits. "Now what are you doing the weekend three week from now? I was thinking me and Yori could stop by."
"That's a great idea." Shego agreed already thinking that she couldn't wait.
They talked for an half an hour before Ron had to hang up. Now Shego noticed that Ron didn't mention the bullet proof vest or clothes but she was going to get him something so this didn't happen again.

After Ron talked with Shego, he called Tara then Monique, both insisted that they were coming over to check on him and wouldn't take no for an answer.
Seeing as he had people coming over Ron went into the kitchen to make some light snacks. Just as he finished making sandwiches and was about to pour some chips into a bowl the doorbell rang.
"I got it Ron-san." Yori says from beside him and goes open the door.
Ron turned to greet Tara and saw the girl nearly faint at seeing him standing before she switched gears and commanded. "Sit, now!"
Ron seeing the seriousness in her tone did as asked.
"Lift up your shirt." Tara ordered.
When Ron did as asked he saw both Yori and Tara pale. Looking down he noticed the bandages were bloody, meaning he must have torn some stitches.
"It's not that bad, I didn't even feel a thing." Ron tried to assure them.
A teary eyed Tara spoke. "Ron you need to take care of yourself a little more. Promise me you'll take care of yourself."
Ron scratched the back of his head as he answered. "I will Tara, I promise."
Once he saw Yori and Tara visibly calm down, Ron suggested they head to the livingroom so he could get started on his schoolwork. Around a minute later, the doorbell rang and Yori proceeded to let Monique in.
Ron proceeded to work on his schoolwork and to his surprise he got it done four hours later. Although it was Friday the next day Ron wasn't going to school and Monique agreed to come over and tutor him instead of having him go out.
Rufus then woke up and the first thing the little guy said was food, so Ron ordered some pizza. When the food arrived Ron turned the TV to Agony County, to stay current of course and enjoyed the ladies company as they chatted and watched TV.
The next morning Ron was surprised as Yori brought him breakfast in bed consisting of omelets for him and Rufus. After eating Ron grabbed a quick shower and went with Yori to the backyard.
Ron stretched while explaining to Yori. "I'm going to be exercising with Teacher Xu's method." Having already explained who Teacher Xu was Ron didn't have to explain it again. "After a while of observing you can join me."
Ron then ran through the first sequence so Yori could see and join him. When she did, Ron did the sequence nine more times to complete the set of ten. By the end of the set Ron could feel that his muscle straining to keep up with the movements. He repeated the sequence another two sets before he called it a day.
After he saw Yori off for school Ron meditated and entered his mindscape. Xu Ming Yue greeted him and began teaching him a more efficient Ki control control that would be instrumental in the level of strength he would attain in the future. Ron proceeded to spend what felt like weeks learning the necessary Ki control but in reality was only an hour.
When Ron was done with his lesson he went to the garage and started cleaning up the place. As he was cleaning Ron found a copy of Ron's big day and proceeded to destroy it, not wanting another incident where it saw the light of day, like when the guys at area 51 switched his alien DVD.
Once satisfied that he got some work in, Ron went inside looking to get online and check how his funds were doing. Sadly his computer wouldn't turn on so he had to settle to check on his phone. Although the mobile site wasn't up to par with the regular version he found out what he needed and was satisfied by the funds the villains were providing him. Ron then went online and ordered new parts for a computer and security upgrades that he planned on making on his new workshop/garage once he was done cleaning the place up.
"Food, cheese." Rufus asked as he woke from his nap.
"You got it buddy." Ron agreed going to the kitchen to whip up something.
Making enough for the ninja to eat with them. Ron asked if the were camping outside and Akito explained that they had accommodations in the neighborhood and took turns having days off. Relieved to hear that Ron finished eating and went back to the garage.
Stuff his parents might want to keep he put in the basement and stuff that he deemed junk he took to the curve for disposal. Once that was done Ron decided that the garage wasn't big enough for his workshop so called Wade for some help.
"Hey Ron, what's up?" Wade asked as he picked up the call.
"Wade I need help to secure the permits to build on my property and a construction company for a new sub-level that I need in the house, only accessible through the garage and the best security." Ron quickly explained.
"Sure Ron but it's going to take a while." Wade said as he typed away. "Done and done. Where are you getting the funds for this anyway?"
"Leftovers from the Naco royalties." Ron lied not wanting to explain the real source.
"Okay." Wade agreed and added. "Ron I also contacted the people that sell the parts of the battery. All you need to do now is contact them, give them an account number and they'll ship them straight to your house."
"Thanks Wade, you rock." Ron admits.
