Surrounded by towering mountains covered in thick canopies of trees, a titan loomed over its domain; pacing across its territory in a slow and thoughtful manner. This action which to some would appear like an animal patrolling its domain came from a state of boredom. Godzilla had reached a stage in her life where nothing existed to challenge her. The small swarms of flying gnats that once attempted to prey upon her and then tried to challenge her soon became nothing but slowly disappearing dots on the horizon; too scared to approach her.

Even the trees that once blocked her path and made navigating the world a trial of perseverance became nothing but a carpet for her feet to land on.

She hated it. She needed something to do, something to aspire to. Never meeting others of her kind meant she never knew what she should look like; how she should act. The only creatures she had ever seen were those much smaller than her. She tried to use them as examples of what to do.

Looking to the flying screechers that pestered her youth led her down a path of aggressive attacks on everything around her. In her youth, this never ended well and when she grew larger it felt too easy and unsatisfying. She tried to copy the massive worms that slithered through the ground but she very quickly realised that her digging was not in her nature, having accidentally collapsed a mountain on her head during her first attempt.

She soon found the two-legged things that hide away in the densest of foliage. Copying them did keep her preoccupied for much longer than anything else. Watching them alone kept her creeping boredom away for a good few years, all their intricate conversations and habits; each one unique to a given individual. After awhile she became satisfied with how they would act and decided to try it herself.

At first, she experienced great success. A house was made by digging into a mountain (which she managed to avoid collapsing this time) and covering the entrance with the dirt and rock excavated from the formation. Her mind then went into overdrive, decorating her new abode with different trees and plants she found while wondering the island she had resided on since her birth.

Sadly, this act only kept her mind-numbing apathy at bay for a year, giving her even greater indifference knowing what she was missing. She lacked company. Nothing around came near her in size. The only things she could understand to some degree were the flying things and the two-legged creatures. Even then it was the most basic understanding; flying things screamed when angry, hungry or annoyed and two-leggies waved to greet each other. Verble language evaded her. She knew the little home-builders could communicate to each other through sound, she just couldn't decipher it. Any sounds that reached her ears were muffled by the distance and getting closer made them flee. At one point she tried to get closer to their major encampment, only to be met with a force in her head forcing her to retreat.

"What sort of creature could attack one's mind"

The arrival at her destination jostled her from her thoughts. This was where she discovered the only thing that kept her focus anymore.

During a trip towards the hot springs she uses to bathe and remove any parasites on her skin, she encountered a curious site, what appeared to be a vertical mountain. This she had seen before, appearing every now and again in her travels. This one however revealed a curiosity that she had yet to unravel. The inside was hollow, featuring space for any manner of smaller creature to move inside. This revelation led her to uncover other similar structures to have the same sort of nature, although some featured different shapes on both the outside and interior. Some had holes all throughout them; some of which were filled with a clear substance that was like nothing her titanic eyes had ever seen before, while others had very few or none at all.

Her first few attempts at clearing the exterior had led to quite a few toppling over, however as time went on she eventually grew able to clear them with the utmost care. This escapade led to her crowning achievement, a completely clean and visible collection of vertical mountains. Yet in all her clearing and focus, she still was no closer to finding the truth of these structures than when she first saw the collapsed spire. Her intuition told her it was the work of the two-legged beings, but that was just her first thought. There surely must be many species that wonder her world that she had not seen, perhaps it was the work of one of these unknowns.

She continued to ponder these thoughts while admiring her work until the spines on her back began to crack; a sign for a need of rest. Luckily she had spent enough time here to make a spot for her to sleep and rest between her cleaning sessions.

Walking over a nearby cliff, an indentation in the ground beaconed her to lie down and rest. She gladly obliged.

In deep sleep that spanned days, the female titan missed the very world around her shift, with mountains surrounding her extending and distorting to larger proportions, and her handy work slowly drifting further away.

As the monstrous kaiju awoke, she was greeted to a plethora of new and intriguing sounds. Chirping and singing filled her ears, one of the few times sound seemed to have a pleasant tone to it. She could also hear sounds that she couldn't even think of an explanation towards.

Upon rising to her full height, she made another vastly important realisation, the hole she was resting in that barely fit her when she first slept now completely dwarfed her. Mind now very much blown, she raced through thoughts on what could have happened to cause this. Had she shrunk? No that wouldn't make sense, the trees were the same size. Did the world grow? Maybe, the mountains in the distance seem much bigger as well.

With somewhat of an explanation filled in her mind, she climbed out of her previous resting place (with much greater difficulty) only to be greeted by a sight that puzzled her even more so. Her collection of vertical cliffs that she spent months clearing had grown massively. Suddenly spires comprised solely of that clear material rose from the ground and around them lay strips of black stone on which strange beasts moved. She moved in to get a better look, only for these beasts to flee out of sight as quickly as possible. Even so, she was able to glimpse their true nature. Inside them were those two-legged creatures. They had built the spires.

Her curiosity was cut short when she felt a sudden heat hit her left arm. This was then followed by a large amount of small explosions all across her body. Following the direction she was hit, a squad of flying objects were spotted. With her keen vision, she could see the same two-legged creatures inside them. They were trying to ward her off.

Her next course of action was difficult. She could retaliate and show her dominance over these two-legged creatures, but then they would run away and she couldn't watch them anymore. She could also run away, losing any appearance of dominance but letting her watch these creatures' antics from afar.

While she pondered her options, the local army and Airforce stationed around Fukushima scrambled to create a united force against the newly emerged Godzilla, having been hindered by the insane circumstances that had occurred merely two days before, with some portions of the forces being under different commands and having differing opinions of how to handle the presence of Godzilla.

The squadron of fighter pilots and a few gathered tanks continued to bombard the monstrous mistress to no avail, with her not stirring from her thoughts from the onslaught.

Finally, Godzilla took her first step and turned to leave the area, walking away from the city and towards the ocean. Each step placed the massive beast into a deeper set of thoughts about her recent discoveries that past her mind on the distorted terrain that lay in her path.

Eventually, her thoughts became so deep that she barely noticed the world around her at all until she bumped directly into something dense and hot. As she returned to reality she looked upon her obstacle with groggy eyes. Her obstacle appeared to be a dark grey with a darker shade behind it. Her second observation was that it was breathing.

The realisation of her situation hitting like a brick she immediately attempts to put up her shield only to fail due to the massive living obstacle in the way. She finally lifted her eyes to see what appeared to be another of her kind staring directly down at her.
