CHAPTER 373
Gigantor was thrown from the fight. Her body rolled to a stop, and her chest heaved with a breath of exertion. The thick skin over her ribs bore a lashing of bloody talon marks that cut deep under her scales. Despite these wounds and many others that marked her tough flesh Gigantor thrust to her feet.
The spinosaurus was already coming at her like a well stoked steam engine. She too bore a weaving of cuts and punctures over her body, but they did not seem to phase her integrity in the least.
The spinosaurus threw her body at Gigantor and grappled her arms around the opposing beast. Like two sumo wrestlers the girth of their massive feet battered the ground in circles. As the spinosaurus fought to put Gigantor back on the ground Rebirtha drug her weight out from beneath a rubble of pallets. Her ivory albino skin was tarnished with red smears and scuffs of earth that had been ground into her skin. She stood with a shake. Her head was swaying. The tyrannosaur kicked aside piles of wood and nails with her feet until she could grip the dirt firmly without any rubble between her scaled foot pads and the ground. With a steady anchor to the earth Rebirtha took in the ongoing feud. Gigantor and the spinosaurus were still locked onto each other and throwing their weight back and forth. Rebirtha watched them turn in circles. Biding her time she moved forward until the opportune moment arrived for her to latch onto Gigantor's throat.
Rebirtha clamped down like a vice, sinking her teeth around the most vulnerable fleshy parts of Gigantor's neck. The theropod let out a wheeze as Rebirtha squeezed. Gigantor's eyes widened and bulged from her head. She tried to roar, but nothing came out except for a gurgle.
With a forceful movement the spinosaur shoved Gigantor. As Rebirtha had her feet firmly planted, Gigantor's neck was ripped from her hold. Rebirtha stumbled backwards with Gigantor's esophagus, trachea, and a thick chunk of ragged muscle, skin, and fat still pinched between her teeth.
Gigantor fell in an instant. Her bones collapsed to the earth, and her flesh flattened like putty. As blood stained the dirt around her head and neck the spinosaurus pushed herself up off of the theropod's lifeless mass. She turned to Rebirtha who still had the hunk of meat in her mouth.
Rebirtha was done fighting. She could feel exhaustion setting in. The tyrannosaur began to back away. She growled and kept her eyes on the spinosaurus.
