Hi! Ihmp here. If you've stuck with me this far, it means you like my style of writing or, at least, the idea of this story. Again, I will take all criticisms and critiques. I am a rather new writer on this site so it would help a lot. I probably should've said this at the start but, unless you want spoilers to your game, stop reading. I'm sure you figured it out by now, but this is based off of "Pokémon Legends: Arceus".

POV: Present-Day
Lucas sighed before looking up from the dust-filled pages to find all four researchers sitting in front of him, eyes wide with curiosity.
"Can one of you get me some water?" With that request, both of Dawn's parents rushed off, leaving only Dawn, Lucas, and Professor Rowan. Lucas took the quill that he found alongside the journal and placed it on the entry he had finished reading, closing the artifact with the grace of a grizzly bear.
"Careful!" exclaimed Professor Rowan. In his mind, Professor Rowan was ecstatic. He had been studying Pokémon evolution for years, and here lay the findings of one of the very pioneers to pave the way for people like him! It also marked the appearance of one of his ancestors! His family descended from the blood of the great trailblazer, Commander Kamado. To know that one of his ancestors played such an integral part in the acceptance of Pokémon. "Isn't it just amazing? To know that people like us, the curious, existed all the way back then?"
"Not really, professor." Dawn, at the time, was quite critical of the major players in this tale. The writer of the journal, Rei, supposedly fell out of the sky from some place (or some time, as he referred to it) where Pokémon were quite common. Then he was accepted immediately into an ancient civilization that knew almost nothing? It seemed like fiction (or just really shitty writing, but I'm not one to judge - Ihmp). "It's simple odds. There are bound to be people from every generation that wish to learn more."
"Very true, dear." As Dawn's parents strode back into the room, her father victoriously raising up a cup of water, Lucas started to wonder if any of this was true.
Graciously accepting the water, Lucas drank a bit before clearing his throat and announcing, "I'm gonna start reading again!"
