Ch. 1

Prologue

In the sands there are stories and myths lost in the sands of time. But this tale however lasted. There once was a high priest who served for the gods and had an apprentice in the teachings in healing who was a prince. This prince although humble, was mistreated by the many people of his fathers city. Nevertheless, he was always protected by the priest to whom he was falling for each day since they met. One day, the prince spoke the truth of his feelings to the priest and had known he may not accept his heart. What he did not had known the priest did accept and he too express and offered his life and everything to the prince. The pharaoh was not pleased as he did not accept his sons love for the priest as he decided to order his people to do whatever they could to separate the lovers.

It was hard for the prince as he knew if he continued to seek out the priest more, he too will suffer for his crime so he forced himself to stay in the pharaohs palace. But the more he isolated himself from his lover, the more he grew sick. He knew he wanted to see his love but he was denied and each night cried and even tried to escape. But one night, the priest went to see the young prince and spoke to his young love he did not care about his city but only him. He was willing to leave this city for him and take him with him. The prince smiled and held his lover close.

But as they share a kiss, the pharaoh saw and heard them. Anger ran through his blood like the locust, it devoured all his thoughts and decided then and there to kill the priest. As the pharaoh ran to kill the priest, the prince saw the pharaoh coming and did the one thing he could do to protect his love.

Shield his lover by taking his place.

The dagger plunged through his heart and both the pharaoh and the priest were shock. The priest lunged forward to hold his love close as he fell. The priest cried and cried, praying to the gods for his lovers life back.

The pharaoh scowling at the priest and tormented him spoke horrible things to him. How it was he the cause of the death, the cause of misery. He ordered the guards to imprison the priest, separating and forcing him from his dead love as he was covered in his blood. In the dark depths of his dark prison he prayed to any of the gods to hear his plea but none of the gods heard.

None but Sekhmet had heard. She spoke through his dream if he wishes to seek revenge on those who had harmed his love, she will offer him his wish only he has to offer something equally.

Not his soul, but his humanity.

She smiled deviously as she turned him to a vampire, seeing all of mankind will suffer and see gods and monsters exist.

The priest given the curse, plagued across the city slaughtered those that has harmed his heart and finally reaching to the palace he sees the pharaoh was not there. He ran through the night and found the pharaoh weeping over his son in the sacred tombs.

The priest ready to kill him…. Could not.

He saw how careful his love was wrapped and before his eyes the memories of him washed over the rage and he was left with guilt. No matter how many he has killed, it will never bring back his love. The pharaoh, seeing the priest, called forth his guards to kill the priest but saw the pain etched in him, he too, could not kill him. He knew he was the one who killed his son so he sentenced the priest to imprisonment, for he had committed murder against his own city.

The priest accepted only to learn he would not be imprisoned with his dead love. As he was taken deep within the pyramids and enclosed from the world. The pharaoh seeing fit, did the last piece to assure his son will not come back.

By burning his body and erasing his existence.

Osiris the king of gods saw the events, spoke to the priest.

"I see before me a broken heart and a lost soul. I understand you were hurt and accepted the punishment. Alas as my mercy to shower you, your love will come back to you; you will suffer and bare the isolation, but your lover will come back to free you. I cannot undo Sekhmet' curse, but I can alter the curse for you to roam the days and to control the elements. But to alter ones life you must offer them your blood." The god of the underworld and the afterlife spoke. Before departing he gives the priest one final gift.

The ring his lover was gifted by him.

"For you to give him when the time comes…"

The priest in his imprisonment, smiled for no matter how long it takes, he will be reunited with his heart again…
