A visitor

20 years before

A young boy, aged 8, was dialing any number, trying to reach out for his big brother who left home two days ago after a fight. It was his only option after learning his brother closed off his phone and any form of connection. It took hours before he got an answer.

"Hello, this is the devil's hotline-"

"I think I called a bad number-" the boy hears a giggle.

"Do not worry,"

The boy looked across from his room and through his mirror on his closet door came a lady he thought was a fairy. He never saw a lady with hair as red and pale blue skin that shone like stars.

"I am Nos, and you summoned me for a request. Of course as my 1,000th caller who has called a 1st S class devil, you are given a free rule wish. Of course you should know there are restrictions-"

"Can you bring back mom?"

Nos looks to the boy showing her a picture of his mom along with a moody teen and a man who looked older than he should. "My mom left, so my brother left for the academy but he cut off any connection to home. My father," the boy paused. "... He called my brother a lot of names and they won't talk to each other. Maybe if you can bring her back, she'll fix what I can't."

Nos was looking through the picture memories and was shocked to learn about the situation.

This child is from a one night stand but was left to be cared for by the father who lied to his wife about adopting the boy from a family member. This mother left after learning the painful truth and despite how much both brother and father despised each other, the brother was the one who loved the boy like a brother. Despite how much the boy was ignorant to the situation, she could not allow this child to be any more part of the situation. She especially knows the pain of being pulled away from your sibling.

"Unfortunately I cannot let someone else have this wish. This is your wish to keep."

The boy frowns and holds the picture close, "I don't have any wish to make." He frowns. "I just want to have my family together. I'm sorry for calling you."

Nos kneels down and hums in thought before having an idea. It was a bit ridiculous but eventually it will come back to her. "Well then, you leave me no choice."

The boy perked and saw her cover her left eye, he flinched when she winced but pulls her hand away to reveal once vibrant red, was now an orange gold eye. She makes a chain appear and puts it on the boy. "This is a special gift I want you to have. To take an eye shows strength, but if a devil offers you an eye, especially being a half god, it is truly a blessed gift. It will bring you luck and give you all you want. When you no longer want it, it will return to me."

The boy blushed at how close the lady was but he could tell she smelled like flowers and honey. He couldn't help but hug the fairy lady. He couldn't believe this was a devil, she was too pretty. "Thank you, can I ask you something?"

"Of course." Nos hugs him back carefully.

"Can I see you again?" The boy asked.

Nos shook her head. "It is not because I do not want to see you again, but because its part of the rules as a devil to keep the customer safety."

"Oh." the boy frowns.

"But you still have a wish rule free, when you are ready, I will come back and grant your wish. Also, we seem to be connected." She shows a purple and a red string wrap around their wrist. "So someday we will."

"I'm Xavier Ramone, XR for short." He holds his hand for her.

"Nosferatu." She takes his hand and bows. "I better go but I will see you again." She bows and disappears into the mirror.

XR holds the eye close and hopes to see her again.

Present- Japan

It was a beautiful morning for the Newman residence. The owner, XL, who was waking up early for a special day. Xander Lucas, XL, was happy to let his brother move in for his first semester at a university to work for his major in Engineering and here in Japan holds the best programs. But the major joy was because he can temporarily kick out the Devil that has been stopping him from having a proper date with his wifey. You probably think she has a goddess like beauty, in fact she does, but she is a literal goddess. Sirena was a 1st class goddess who had a voice that was so beautiful, it was un-world-like. Of course how was he supposed to know wishing she stayed by his side forever was a marriage proposal! Despite the unexpected wish, he enjoyed his time with her, and he fell in love with her the more time they spent together. It felt too good to be…

… of course he did meet his inlaws…..

The youngest of her siblings was Ald, a tech savvy and a pain in his ass because this young god was 1,600 years old, he was a moody teen. Of course he was protective of his big sister so Ald wasn't so bad

But the worst was her evil twin who changed gender like they were clothes and a devil from hell.

The possible antichrist that exists to give him a hard time! The bringer of Evil!

Worst of all, that wannabe vampire goth monster steals his secret stash of his favorite cherry baked cookies Sirena bakes!

Well after today, XL will be free from the most dreadful thing of existence for a few months!

"You need to leave." XL stated to the now male devil Nos.

"Nope." Nos chomps away the cookie as he tends to his garden he made. From what XL learned, Nos was once a 1st class god that lived in the same place as Sirena that was called Yggdrasil. He was practically a powerful god until he did something unforgivable and was forced to live with their father, Zurg, the ruler of Niflheim or realm Z. He could care less where Nos lives, so long as he keeps away from his brother. "You really think kicking me out will keep your secret."

"Hey! We had an agreement that if and when I have a family member coming, you, the oldest, will leave until the time comes to come back. You literally made a contract for that."

"I did not sign it." Nos stated. "And let me be clear," he points to a sharp claw and XL shriek in fear. "I only tolerate you because some force, and my sister, will not let me annihilate you. So unless something comes to it, no force on any side will make me leave."

15 minutes later.

"Brother, can you please let my hubby's brother stay for the time being? For me?" Sirena held her brother's hands as he was cooking. Nos blinks to process it and sighs.

"Only because you asked, sister." He steps past Xl and goes to clean out the room. "I will be living in my bookshop."

XL kept calm but on the inside he was shouting in his head until he yelped when a knife pierce through the wall. He shook a bit when he felt blood roll down on his cheek.

"XL if I find out you did something to my sister, you are fertilizer for my plants." Nos warns him with a glare before shutting the sliding door.

XL groans knowing well just hugging her was a death invitation. But he'll enjoy his time with his wifey!

…. Somehow….

Nos after getting everything, head over to his shop, it was a small simple shop but it was his home from home he enjoyed staying in. It was a two story building just across from the university. He took a small stroll through the park and as he walked, he had wondered about one client he had not thought of for so long. Most of his clients wish for power, fame or fortune, but get their karma when they try to abuse their wish or the time period of their contract. All but one child who was calling on an old phone, wishing to have his family back together. He wondered if he still wanted that wish? Or when will his eye return? He walks down the path until he bumps into someone, making them drop a suitcase and the sound of books splash into mud.

"My books!"

Nos looks to the young man's stuff for a second and helps him grab the books. "I am terribly sorry."

"Well it's my fault for not looking-" The young man stops and sees familiar red eyes and feels his heart skip a beat. XR has been hoping to see the lady for so long, that he had no idea she was different! He wasn't judging but he felt he was looking at a shining star like that day. He had to say, his pops wasn't happy he wanted to work in Nasa over being a cop but ever since he met Nosferatu, his life changed! His dreams changed because he wanted to see the stars.

'Well I got to see the stars again.'

He hoped to see Nos again.

By the looks of it, Nos didn't recognize him but it made sense, he was a little kid and if he told him who he is, there was a good chance this devil fairy would see him as nothing more than a kid wanting his family together. "-My way, you're really handsome." he felt stupid.

Nos chuckles and he had to say the little mortal was adorable. "Thank you though I must say this is quite unexpected to hear. May I know your name?"

XR was wondering if he should or not but he didn't want to lie. "I'm Xavier Ramone, Newman but you can call me XR." XR holds his hand out nervously.

Nos was very startled but dare not show any sign of it, and shaked his hand. "Nosferatu, Nos for short." It was unbelievable, to see the boy he met years ago is different now. He saw the books were ruined but can recognize some of them. "If you allow me, I can replace the books for you." Nos felt it was only fair and hopefully he can fulfill the wish.

"Thanks." 'He knows.' XR was not brave to be a cop but he knows tell tale signs and although Nos was a professional, he can spot the small hints. So he figures to play along. He blushed when Nos helped him out and he just carried one piece of luggage.

"Have you eaten?" Nos was a chef, in fact he would cook more than his sister because it was his specialty.

"Not yet, but I can treat you to brunch? It's only fair." XR was not someone to make someone pay, and this was his crush! He wants to look good!

"I have food I need to cook soon so please allow me." Nos insisted.

Before XR could say no, his stomach growls and he blushes deeply. "I would like to." He caved and followed Nos to his place.

Coming up to the shop, XR was surprised but then again he thought Nos would chose some high class place. 'But I'm pretty sure living around here is pricey.' (college student)

"Thank you again." XR follows the owner in and when they go up to the top, it was really nice. He saw it was wider and bigger.

Nos forgot to rearrange the space yet he did not hear XR asking questions. It was as if he was used to this. "Do you know who I am?" Nos knew it was obvious that the system should, as soon as he left, make sure XR could not remember. But he hoped the young man remembered.

"I remember that night. You did say you're a 1st class devil-"

"I was 1st class but early this year, I retired from the job." Nos took off his shoes, XR following his lead but Nos handed him some slippers. "But your rule-free wish is still there."

"Good to know but I didn't really think of that. I really am happy to see you." XR puts on the slippers and sees Nos going to his kitchen area and taking out ingredients. He sat on the stool across from Nos's island table. He watched Nos take out food that looked too fresh! 'I can hardly believe they look ready to spoil. They look too fresh.' But he watched Nos prep and he was feeling a bit useless. "Can I help?"

Nos was about to cut the vegetables but decided why not. He does not get much help and it was nice to cook with someone. "Do you mind cutting the vegetables?"

XR was already by his side and began slicing the tomatoes. He tried to look like he knew what he was doing but in all facts, he didn't. "How were you over the years?"

"Bored, it was nice ruining souls and claiming power, but I stepped down because I did not want to rule over realm Z. I would have killed my father, but I am not powerful enough." Nos cuts the meat and thought of making stir fry but places some raw meat for himself. "How about you?"

"Been ok-ish, I left home to come here to the university. I got into the program for engineering and plus I got a chance to work on spaceships here." XR smiles, it was nice to talk to him and be like this.

"Any special someone in your life?" Nos asked, it was not something he should bother to ask, but yet here is asking and waiting to hear it from him.

"Well," XR sighed. "I had a horrible breakup months ago. She was really controlling when I told her about my dreams. She also told me how much she wanted my necklace and I said no many times." He remembered how she kept eyeing it. "I told her it was special but she tried to take it. One night, we were cuddling and she pulled on it and broke it. She took it and threw it out the window. I ran out to find it. I- I felt scared because what if you don't get it back and this was a special gift from you. You probably wouldn't believe how much I was crying and having an anxiety attack."

Nos stops and sees XR was crying.

"I was able to find it but the chain wouldn't work. I left and hurried to someone I hoped to fix it. They said it was hard to fix the lock. But I was worried if your eye was cracked." XR looks at him not looking at what he was cutting and Nos stops him. "Sorry about that-!" XR was silent when he was pulled into a hug by Nos, smelling the familiar roses and honey.

"No need, I am sorry that happened to you. You deserve better." Nos held him and XR hugged him, clinging to him. He wished with his heart he made that wish, because then maybe he didn't feel that longing.

"I wish you can be with me forevermore." He mumbles but feels Nos tense and XR realized what he did. "W-wait-!" XR covered his eyes from the flash. When it diminished, he uncovered his eyes and saw Nos glowing until it faded. He felt he messed Nos up.

Big time.

"I'm so sorry!" XR shouted, Nos was quiet but felt something changed and saw the thread was now on his wedding finger. He didn't know what to say. If it was any mortal or devil, he'd kill them. Even a god or goddess, he was not to tie down for power. But this was XR, the one person he in his entire existence, wanted no power, fortune or even fame. He can even sense no drainage from his eye that was in a leather rope for a necklace.

"XR-" Nos stopped hearing XR listing what he can do.

"Can I undo it? I read from stories that being tied down to a mortal can weaken you."

'Not true' Nos thought.

"Or I can call a line?"

'Fat chance.' Nos thought and just watched XR trying to figure a way to unwish the wish. He tried to keep a calm expression but XR was just truly adorable. He then see the mortal hyperventilating and still talking so he thought of shutting him up.

Nos pulls XR by his shirt and kisses him. He cannot tell anyone it was his first kiss, he knew there were few that would tease him and a certain annoying devil that would be choking out this mortal. However this kiss sent sparks in his body. He wanted to enjoy this more but he did not want to have a passed out mortal so he pulled away and saw XR red as a cherry. He chuckles and sees it work.

"Calmer now?" Nos asked.

"... Y-yep…." XR felt he had his first kiss stolen and he knows it wasn't his first. But kissing Nos made him feel like his shy self back in highschool. 'I feel like I'm in the clouds.'

"I do not wish to undo the wish." Nos stated firmly. "I cannot say it's love, yet, but I wish to get to know you better and go from there." He figured with time, he can understand this thread that has tied them already. He did not expect XR to give him back his eye.

"It's only fair you're willing to stay with me, you should have it back." XR holds it out. Nos carefully takes it but just as he did, it went back to him. He tried again and it repeated. He remembered Drac was peeved seeing the orange gold eye and tried to learn how it happened. "Perhaps it is best if it stays with you but I am changing the accessory."

XR beams, thinking it be a bracelet or a ring- he blushed when he feels what he knew was a choker.

"And do not worry it will not get your neck infected, I think it suits you nicely." Nos smirks placing the eye on the clasp and it seals. He felt his possessive side enjoying this but seeing XR needs his eyes, he thought of something special. He made a choker appear on his neck but leans forward.

XR didn't know what to do until he feels Nos leans to his neck and bites him. He winced and clung to Nos but for some reason he liked it. He felt his body heating up until Nos pulled away. "Wha-what did you do?" He felt like he was slammed into the ground and was panting a bit.

Nos purrs at the taste and resisted swallowing it before cupping his mouth and in a flash made a topaz gem appear in his hand. "Just pull a small part of your blood and energy, nothing extreme." using his magic he sealed it up and made sure it was secured.

"Oh… I kinda liked it." XR was flustered but saw the choker was special and he felt around the thin but perfectly made choker around his neck. "So… wanna keep cooking?"

"What is taking so long?" XL was worried now as it was past 1pm. He was thinking the worst but he was calming himself and glad he made a big meal. It wasn't Nos cooking, but he can make a great big meal! Of course there are some mistakes here and there.

(Ald was gagging from the smell.)

XL perks, getting a call and sees it's from his little brother. He has been worried since he left home but he finally gets a chance to be supportive of him.

"Lil bro!" He smiles through the video call but was shocked to see him at Nos's place. "Where are you at?"

"Welll…. I accidentally got married to my long-time crush, who is a devil. No, I didn't sell my soul but I had a wish I had on hold. I know you wanted me to live with you, but I'm going to live with Nos. We're gonna go look around but we can hangout later. Bye!"

XL was quiet but he watches his little brother hang up and he feels worried now.

"Think he's pissed?" XR asked and Nos walked in and sat by his side. "Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I'll live with you, but my brother is really…."

"Annoying, impulsive when he wants his way." Nos hugs him from behind and purrs. "I will deal with him later, for now I want to be with you and eat with you." Nos served the table but felt nervous. "If it is too much, please tell me."

"This is amazing!" XR was amazed and took the chopsticks out and began serving himself. He was surprised that the amount he made was supposed to be "little" but this was beyond heavenly! He took his time to eat and was curious about something. Nos was eating meat but it's was more raw than cooked so he wondered was it a particular taste or was it custom? He figured it was maybe both because he's a devil, devi for short. Then again he did bite his neck and drank out of him so maybe not. 'We'll cross that question later.' he thought but that was when the door rang.

"I'm guessing that's my brother."

"Nope, it is an annoying guardian here for lunch." Nos stood up and walked over to the door to reveal a man taller than the two but he looked no older than late 20s.

"Buzz." Nos glares annoyed.

"Afternoon Nos, I heard you moved out-"

"-and you figured I would be cooking." Nos crossed his arms. He knew the main reason why Buzz being here. Despite Nos falling from Yggdrasil, he was known to be one of the few that served to the almighty, his parent. Buzz is considered a 1st class as well but not a god yet per say. He's known as a power guardian. And power guardians fuel on heavenly food. Unfortunately for Nos, he's the only source for that. Buzz can eat normal food but it's like charging from a cheap charger, he won't get the amp he needs.

"Please Nos? I can't return to Yggdrasil thanks to Ald's experiment." Buzz recalled that Ald tech broke Buzz's transportation device. "Please?"

"I am on a date right now." Nos stated and let Buzz see the guy.

"Wait, you're dating? Dating a mortal? But you never dated anyone!" Buzz was shocked to see his old colleague was with someone, and a mortal one. He wondered what force did this because Nos never dated anyone, especially from either side. Unlike mortals, gods and devil's join hands unless there is something to gain. Buzz would deny believing the good it does but he has seen gods try their favor on Nos. 'And Nos is one of the rarest to work with one of the great elemental spirits. So even from falling, Nos is still a god by law. But what made him do that unforgivable act?' It was still a mystery to everyone, even now.

Nos could not argue with that; he could but he's having a good day. "If I let you take some, will you leave?"

"Yes." Buzz smile widens when Nos let him in and sees the human but…. This human didn't feel like a human. He looks to Nos who sat next to the said thing but Buzz couldn't tell what it is.

"Where are you from?" Buzz asked.

"San Francisco California." XR answers.

"That sounds like a fake place." Buzz wasn't buying it.

"Buzz it is a real place. I have been there before." Nos replies. "Besides you know the rules of luncheon: do not be asking things."

"Really? Is that a ritual?" XR asked.

"Proper etiquette, Buzz is a power guardian. Power guardians are the protectors but not exactly gods." Nos explains. "Though if they cannot exactly be considered to one there considered more like angels."

"Like cherubs?" XR wasn't exactly a professional But he tried to understand.

"Something like that." Nos answers and eats his raw meat.

Buzz ignored that Nos was being considerate to it but he was uncomfortable to see Nos eating raw meat. 'Then again Nos ate raw meat as a kid. Probably part of his devil side.'

"Nos I know it isn't proper to ask, but do you like raw meat?" XR asked, making Buzz tensed up. The gaurdian was worried and looked to Nos.

"Yes I like the texture and taste. I cannot understand the reason, I just do." Nos smiles. "Though pork, not so much."

XR hums. "Can I try?" he asked and smiled when Nos shared with him a piece.

Buzz was now surprised, no one tried to ask Nos without getting a scolding or an aggressive glare. Ever since he can remember, Nos always had this wall around him. Mostly because his familiar was half Angelic, and half Devil. It was considered an abomination but Nos wouldn't give up their familiar. Being known as a half was bad but yet Nos was still the best of the best….. Just not the best at making friends. But he was with a human/not human and it was like seeing kid Nos. It was nice to see that wall crumble, But feel sad he didn't get to be the one being kind of not enemies. He still has hope Nos returns back to Yggdrasil and maybe this XR can help him.

"Not bad, maybe add some sauce?" XR dips the bitten piece in the sauce on his plate and tries it. "It's really different! You gotta try it." XR holds his plate, and Nos was surprised, blushing even, and tried it. Nos takes a bite and smiles enjoying the taste and hums in delight.

Buzz was surprised to hear Nos hums, it was really the first time he heard this. But seeing him with XR, made him really hopeful. "Well I'll take my food to go. Have a nice day."

Nos nods away, he felt happy being with XR. Buzz was already feeling good until he opened the door to see none other than Ald.

"Dork." Ald stated, carrying his backpack.

"I thought you were staying in that mortal place?" Buzz was shocked, forgetting this was the source of the problem.

"I cannot live another second eating his horrible excuse of cooking and I figure Nos is-" Ald was shocked to see his older sibling eating with someone. He didn't know what to say before he steps through and walks up and sat down, serving himself some food.

'I'll interrogate after I have my fill.' he was very hungry and missed his sibling's cooking. But as he ate, he couldn't help but see his brother looked happy. 'Maybe interrogate later, later on.' He didn't want to ruin his brother's mood.
