Chapter 1
Hello welcome to my first story that I am writing, this was not the first story that I planned to make, but well the other ideas I had are still in production. I will also let you know that I am a college student so my time to write these chapters are limited, so my updates will most likely be whenever I find time to write so I apologize for that. Also since this is my first story it most likely won't be good (I also know that my grammar is not the best), but if you want to stay and read it that's awesome, I thank you for that.
This is also an idea I had where I get most of my idea's while I am trying to sleep. I have not seen other people do this kind of story, but if other people have done this story I apologize and would like a link to the story (I am always looking for other good stories to read).
I also have a couple of OCs in the story I could not think of a way to do an introduction organically with my writing style, so I will describe more about them next chapter, but if you don't like OC's don't worry I don't plan to make as few as possible.
I would also like to make clear that I do not own either Pokémon or Harry Potter, if I did, I would not stress about money so much lol (I don't know why people put this message when they write stories, but I guess I will do the same).
Anyways let's get on with the show.
Chapter 1
James and Lily were rushing over to Godric's Hollow as quickly as they could the moment, they heard it was attacked. They left their twins (who were 4 years old at the time) there with James's parents watching them, assuming that the Fidelus charm would prevent Voldemort from finding their children and allow them to continue fighting. Unfortunately, by the time they got back to Godric's Hollow they saw that it had been destroyed and caused them to fear for the worst. They went in with their wands out and first thing they saw was James's parents on the ground dead, saddened to see this they ran up the stairs to the twins' rooms hoping that their children would still be alive. Thankfully they both were alive though Harry seemed to be sleeping peacefully, his sister Iris on the other hand seemed to be crying quite a bit. This led to Lily picking her up to calm her down when Dumbledore showed up at that moment, being somewhat winded from rushing there so quickly.
"Are the twins, okay?" asked Dumbledore worrying about their safety, to which James shows him "As far as we can tell the twins are okay, with Harry sleeping over there and Iris being calmed down." To which Dumbledore made a small sigh of relief, "I am thankful the twins are okay, I am sorry about your parents James, I checked on them when I came in and sadly it seems that their moving onto their next adventure sadly" Dumbledore said to James who seems like he is holding back tears as he picks up Harry and Lily goes over to him to help comfort him.
James in his emotional state sees Sirius Black come in, because Sirius also got the alert about the charm and rushed over, and sees that Sirius looks even more distraught breaths a small sigh of relief at seeing the twins are okay, "This is my fault, I should have never suggested Peter to be a secret keeper, I will hunt that rat down to the ends of the earth if I have to."
Sirius turns to head out to find him when he is stopped by Dumbledore telling him "Do not rush into this Sirius, for now be glad that the twins are okay and tomorrow we will inform the order and the ministry about what happened, then we will all hunt him down" With that Sirius took a sigh and thanked Dumbledore for stopping him before he did something reckless. Dumbledore then asks Sirius, "Could you do a check around the house and go downstairs, that way if there is a death eater they do not ambush us when we are unprepared." In which Sirius readily agreed and after looking at the Potter family one more time went out in case someone was nearby.
Now Dumbledore turns towards the parents asking them, "Would you like for me do a diagnostic spell on the children to make sure there are no lingering effects from any spell that may have been cast." They readily agreed and Dumbledore started with Harry he sees the lightning bold scar on him and when casts he can see some dark magic in it but labels it as residue from the spell that Voldemort has cast, before continuing and finding no more magic in Harry. Turning his attention to Iris, Dumbledore notices that there is an X on her head and her magic seems to be at a higher level then is what is normal in children their age.
He turns to the Potters and tells them what he has detected and gives his theory, "I can safely say that both children should be fine, though I am afraid that Harry has depleted all of his magic meaning that he will become a squib." Saying that causes both Lily and James to look distraught at the thought that their child lost his magic due to what Voldemort has done, after a brief pause Dumbledore continues, "I believe that Iris was hit with the killing curse and has managed to deflect it back at Voldemort, and that she is the one that the prophecy spoke of, with the X on her head being the mark that considers her equal." At which both parents were shocked to hear the news.
Lily then asks Dumbledore, "So does that mean Voldemort is dead?" Lily asked with hope. To which Dumbledore looked at her sadly, "While his physical form is dead, I do not believe that he is completely dead, and that Iris will likely have to face him in the future" he told them. While they looked downtrodden Dumbledore did give them some hope, "I do plan on giving her special lessons to help her prepare for Voldemort's return, and she is going to be the symbol of hope for the whole wizarding world." They looked thankful for that and was glad Dumbledore was going to give them support.
At this point Dumbledore did give a look of grim, "In order for the training and social practice she will need, she will have to learn to focus and not get distracted, though I also have another fear related to Harry" in which the Potters were confused about it, "What fear do you have for Harry, sure he will be a squib but we will love him all the same" Lily responded. "My fear for Harry does not relate to that, but on the ends for his safety and emotional well-being, Voldemort may be gone for now, but his followers are still out there, and your family will have targets on your backs because of the death of their leader caused by Iris. While you two can defend yourselves and Iris will be able to one day, Harry being a squib will be vulnerable to them and could be against you." At which both the parents were feeling very frightened about hearing the news.
"The other factor I worry about is his jealousy towards Iris and everyone else around him due to him becoming a squib, it is a common occurrence when a squib grows up around a wizarding family and will be drastically worse because of how much extra attention Iris will be getting." The Potters look like they are deep in though looking up like they are about to say something, but looking down because they had no response until Lily asks him, "So you are saying that we should never see again." Looking extremely upset and angry at what Dumbledore was telling them to which he quickly tells her, "I am not saying you will never see him again, but if you wait to reunite with him until he is grown up it will make it so he does not feel resentment towards you and understands the decision, plus it would also become a safer time at that point for all of you."
At this point there was silence in the room, until James asks him, "you are 100% certain that he is a squib and that this plan will keep him safe" to which Dumbledore nodded. This is when Lily responds, "If we did do this where would we send him the only family or friends, we have in the muggle world is my sister Petunia, but she hates everything about our world." This is when James had a thought, "what about my brother Will, he is a squib so he would be understanding of Harry's situation and cares very deeply for them and would be understanding" Dumbledore looked down when he heard this, while he knew what James was saying is true, Will would likely suggest that the whole family move to where he lives, which would also take them away from his influence, so Dumbledore responded to James, "I do not believe that would be beneficial, Harry could still grow to resent the family and do you think that the island that Will lives on is truly a safe place for Harry to live."
After giving a brief pause to his statement Dumbledore continued, "I believe that Petunia might be the best choice for Harry, after all she is family, plus she only hates magic and since Harry lacks magic, she would most likely love to take him in." They looked at each other and were trying to think about what Dumbledore had said to them, they did not look happy about the plan but were unable to think of what else they could do. "Would it be possible for us to go and visit Harry while he is living at Petunia's." Lily was asking Dumbledore, "That would not be a good idea for any of you, he has to be unaware of the magical world from this point onwards for this to work." Dumbledore told Lily, to which Lily and James looked at each other and were talking quietly about it, finally they turned towards Dumbledore with tears running down their faces, "Okay we will do it if you think this is the only way." James said, "Sadly this is the way it has to be." Dumbledore responded with a saddened expression. After a moment of silence, Dumbledore spoke up, "I will head downstairs, when you two have said your goodbyes to him I will take him over to her place, while you three and Sirius head back to the safehouse."
Dumbledore then left the room heading downstairs he sees Sirius in what used to be the living room covering the bodies of James's parents. Dumbledore shared the decision that was made about Harry, Sirius was furious about the decision and was about ready go upstairs and say that he will take Harry until he got told that it would be hard for him to take care of a child with no experience, along with the fact that the Potters already agreed to it. After that revelation they sat in silence until the Potters emerged and came downstairs with their faces obviously tear stained from crying about this decision they had to make. Everyone was saying their final goodbyes to Harry, as Dumbledore got the address from Lily and went on his way to the Dursley's while the others went to the safehouse.
When Dumbledore got to the house, he put Harry on their porch and set a letter explaining the situation on Harry's bed. Before Albus left he made sure to cast a warming charm to make sure Harry stayed warm, as well as a security charm that will be disabled the moment, he is picked up by the Dursley's the next day. Thinking that his work was done Albus apparated away, making it appear like he was never there at all.
So here is my first end note for the chapter, I do not believe these will pop up often, the only times I plan to be when OCs are introduced in the story which I do not plan for a lot of OCs for this story.
The other thing I will mention is Pokémon will play a major role in this story, only this chapter I do not feel I could introduce them because it would feel bloated so they will be introduced next chapter, as well as how the world views them.
OC's Introduced:
Iris Potter-She is the twin sister of Harry Potter, and my idea while not the most creative is she appearance wise will look similar Lily only with James's eye color, simple approach but I think this adds to the twins feels of them.
Will Potter-He is the squib brother of James, and appearance wise he will look like James only a couple years younger, any more of his background will be explained next chapter (hint he is going to the link to Pokémon)
Finally no relationship for Harry Potter has been confirmed the main ones I am deciding between is Harry/Luna, Harry/Daphne or Harry/Luna/Daphne (Though I do hear harems are hard to write well) and if you have any recommendations about possible ships let me know, while these are the ones I am leaning towards I would like to hear if anyone else has good ideas.
Finally I don't write Lemons, and since I don't use curse words I won't write curse words.
