Kryiak skipped along, while the rest around her ran. Over the three hours the group had ran, she had learned that the old man, who wasn't old, was named Leorio and the blonde was called kurapika.
The group having meet during the travel to the exam site. Leorio had almost gave up but had a new bust of energy and though for some reason he did strip and almost left his briefcase behind.
Most of the time she let her mind wander, into the labyrinth of thoughts – no better time like running for three hours to create ideas of new weapons and designs as such!
But every now and then she would catch killua blue hues glances at her, "killua~" she smirked, looking ahead as she caught the boy once again glancing at her. "Why are you staring at me?"
"I'm surprised" the boy stated after a moment.
"Why?" she asked, cocking her head at the male.
"Cause everyone else seems to be running full out yet you're here skipping like a little girl"
She smirked, turning her vermillion colour head towards him, her sliver hues locking into his blue ones. "Well, this little girl is a lot more dangerous than you know"
Killua's lips twitched as he suppressed the blush wanting to grow, even though she said words like that, he couldn't help but be reminded of a cute little kitty cat pretending to be a lion.
Gon ran up beside her, the boys flanking her sides as stairs Apon stairs came into view. They continued up, running (skipping) up the stairs, slowly but surely gaining distanced. "I didn't notice that we were in the front" gon commented glancing back.
"it's because the Rythm isn't very fast, in fact not moving the fastest way is more tiring." Killua stated, "unless your kryiak..."
She grinned, giving the boys a peace sign, "I'm just that special"
Killua scoffed, "sure you are"
She pouted at his respond, but her remark was cut short as gon asked, "why do you want to be a hunter?"
"I don't really want to be a hunter" the sliverenette said, "I've heard it was something extremely hard and I thought it sounded interesting" he shrugged, "but I'm disappointed."
"And you kriyak?"
"hm? Well I'm a fully certificated blacksmith. A craftsman's"
"What really? That's awesome?"
"Yup," she grinned "but because I'm young and female, people don't believe me" her lips curling downwards into a frowned, "so I'm doing this to prove that I am capable!"
"That's awesome!" gon grinned.
"What about you gon?" both her and killua asked at the same time, turning towards their friend.
"My father is a hunter! My goal is to become a hunter like him!"
"What kind of hunter is he?"
"I don't know!" gon stated simply.
She giggled, as killua let out a laugh, "that's not ordinary!"
"You think so?" gon questioned before explaining how he never saw his father and wanted to do something that his father loved. And that was to become a hunter. She smiles pleasantly, as natural light landed on her face.
The exit was in view.
She glanced at both gon and killua, who were both staring at each other. All having the same thought.
"Race ya!"
The group sprant up the stair. Kryaik deciding to run instead of skipping alongside the pair, she grinned as the group busted though the exit at the same time. "GOAL!"
Kryaik stood on the edge on the platform, balancing on her toes as she scanned the foggy outline on the landscape around them. She felt a tug on the back of her kimono and glanced back spotting killua. "You need to listen" he stated simply pointing towards Satotsu who began to explain the dangers of the swamp. Having completely blanked the conversation killua and gon had about the buying dinner and talking to the hunter before the others had arrived.
She nodded, vaguely listening to the man speak about the dangers of the swamp around them, her glaze turned upwards watching the clouds drift by above them. Only for a voice to cut through the crowd – increasing the already tense atmosphere and snapping her attention back to the task at hand. "That's false! He's lying to all of you guys!"
Kyriak burrowed her brows, her head snapping from the hunter to the new guy and back. Her head tilting slightly in confusion. Were people actually going to believe the beat-up guy? Granted she hadn't been listening to most of the conversation but even she could tell who the real deal is.
Hunters are strong not weak men that got their licenses stolen – if they did, they weren't hunter material in the slightest or dead.
She zoned out, the vermillion head looking downwards as she played with the hem of her kimono selves, studying the pattern. Maybe next time she'd wear a red one? Or would that clash with her hair... Maybe sliver?
As she debated her next choice of clothing. Someone blood lust increase and cards were thrown.
Her head snapped up, as the imposer dropped dead to the ground. Sliver hues following everyone stares to the magician, who smirked his golden eyes glittering with lust as he spoke.
Maybe cards would be her next weapon of choice... They did look pretty handy. Not likely to be picked up as weapons –light and you can play with them. Moreover, they wouldn't be picked up on weapon scanner thingyes or mental detectors… well depending on which material the card were made out of. Not like her armoury was ever picked up on those anyway.
Maybe instead of paper cards, she could order some of that ultra-light metal she's been wanting to get her hands on… that could work nicely with cards… choices choice.
Thought she still had to think about that other weapon idea. Changing something to something else…
"Come one" killua tugged on her arm drawing the girl out of her crafting thoughts.
Mentally she added the cards onto the growing list.
Once again, she and the boys kept pace with the group running into the marshlands of the swamp. The tension in the air as thick as the fog growing around them.
"let's go ahead" killua stated more as a fact than a suggestion.
"I agree"
"We should keep an eye on the judge"
"I just say it's more prudent to get away from Hisoka… he wants to kill somebody and he's becoming impatient" killua say, confirming her thoughts.
"No doubt he'll use the fog" she pitched in with a small smile on her face. Killua glanced towards her before looking at gon, "you should see your face!" he chuckled at gon's confused look, "I can feel it, it's because him and I are of the same race"
Kyriak snorted, "killua we all are the same race silly!" she stuck out her tongue.
"Of the same race? I couldn't tell..."
"You shouldn't rely on appearances, you understand?"
She snorted again, getting an annoyed look from the slivernette, "yeah you shouldn't judge on appearances, you never know when they could be your best friend or your downfall."
"And which one are you" killua asked suspicion lining his voice.
"I'm the one you want on your side" she gave the slivernette a cheeky smile before picking up speed. The boys following at her side, completely phasing out gons shouting. Screams could be heard from all around them as their competitors fell for the traps of the wicked creatures of the forest and marshlands. Or fell at the hands of a blood thirsty magician.
Suddenly Gon stopped in his tracks, looking back at before sprinting off. Kyriak paused in her running glancing towards the running figure of Gon and a frowning killua. She went to follow the spiky haired boy but was stopped as a hand gripped hers.
"Leave him, he will chance up" killua stated as he started running again pulling her along.
Kyriak nodded following the slivernette, her hues drifted down towards there still holding hands. With a shrug she paid it no heed instance following the boy though the foggy woods. sliver hues drifted about the woods, watching the shadows distractedly, completely unaware of the blue hues glancing at her every now and then. Pulling her in the right direction when she saw a pretty red butterfly.
"There they are!" killua pointed towards the font of the running pack.
Kyriak grinned, "we should be close to finishing! Come one!" she tugged on his hand which was still locked within hers as she began to pull him along. killua letting the red head do so.
Soon enough the pair made it to the end of the first stage of the hunter exam, kids standing by the entrance of the large wall. She was humming quickly rocking backwards on feet, looking about while killua looked bored hand in pocket - holding his skateboard against his side while his other one still held onto the girls' ones keeping her in place.
"What are you thinking about?" killua asked breaking the silence.
"Huh? What I am thinking about? Do you really want to know?" she asked turning towards him, her head tilted slightly.
"Yup, I'm bored and gon isn't here yet."
"hmm... yeah I depending on whether to add more coils into the circuits of my shock gloves or weather to invest in better some batteries to keep them charge for longer. Maybe I will see if I could adjust the output on contact without breaking the circuit. I not good at the sciencey stuff. If I was, I would add an adjuster, to alter the power outage. But the client wants what the client wants..." she let out a defeated sigh before she perked up at a sudden though. "Or even add some magnets to create a Magnetic field! I could even try an adapt it into a forcefield thingy! But then I thought about thing staff inspired by that magic trick at the start done by that jester dude! I think his name was... actually I don't know it" she started her eyes glittered with excitement, he could almost see the stars shotting around her, "I'm gonna call it Wabbajack!" she nodded determined, sliver eyes darting about the clearing. "But then I thought about his cards, like what material could I use that's strong and super light! There's so many to choose from, and then I spotted the pin guy that's beens staring at us for a while now, and his pins look pretty sweet, I wonder how they are made? like are they weight or more equal in- oh there's gon!"
She stopped might sentence and pointing towards the spiky haired boy, standing by the blonde and old man. Killua eyes widen, before setting off towards them his hand still gripping her – not wanting to lose the easily distracted girl to wander off, it the little time he'd known her he new it wasn't that hard for it to happen.
"Oi gon! Took you long enough"
To be continued...
three is one day.. thats not too bad
happy hunting xx
