The end of the week came and when and we fine our completely heroine in a room with the chairman of the hunter association being asked a set of questions. Which she struggled to concentrate on.

The chairman chuckled, staring down at the adopted daughter of thorin a good friend of his. "kyriak" sliver hues darted towards the older man. "Question number one" he held up a finger, "above all why do you want to become a hunter?"

She blinked, thinking for a moment before nodding. "Well, I wanted to prove myself as an artisan. Because I'm a girl or young people underestimate me, so if I get a hunter licensee then it shows them that I am more than capable you know? Plus, I would be able to get some more question items into my collection to play with you know! I heard rumours of fire salts that allow something similar to a fire weapon or super light but incredibly strong metal – a unique Vibranium-metal alloy that can only be acquired with a licences. Soo really I think it's pretty obvious you know?"

Netero nodded, seeming to take notes, "was never a weapon wielding person myself to be honest"

"I have some blueprints for stuff like gauntlets or fist supports to provide extra damage among other things that are compatible with Nen"

The older man nodded, "I may have to paid thorin a visit, onto my next question! Who among the other candidates, retains the most of your attention?"

"Oh killua! Ah and gon there really nice. And gittarackur! Hes funny really nice when we were in the tower even gave me a ride on his shoulders! Ooh... what about hisoka? He cheated on cards though..."

"I see, you got yourself some interesting people around you. I'm sure thorin would be prove" netero nodded, reminded himself not to be the one to let thorin know his only daughter had surrounded herself with male only...

"Right last question before you can go! Among the other candidates who do you want to fight against the least?"

"what's game are we playing?" she questioned.

"a game I chose," netero smile at the pouting girl. He knew she couldn't help it, the need to play deadly games. He'd never seem thorin so angry before after discovering what had happened to the girl, he had taken under his wing for those few months she had been taken.

"That I don't want to fight against anyone! Hisoka cheats! And I think gittarackur does too! So, you better be careful!"

"I shall kept it in mind" netero chuckled, waving the child away. He looked down at the notes, he had the final challenge to prepare.

….

Kyriak found herself standing in-between killua and kurapika. The pair taking it a pon themself to sort of ground her while Important talks where happening. Even leorio stood slightly behind her, gon on the other side of killua. The group crowing around protectively the youngest and only female (even though at least two of them knew she didn't need protecting at all) It was easier letting mama and papa bear do want they want.

The group along with the other competitors stood in a large well-lit room before a covered-up board of sorts.

"I hope that everyone had rested well these pass three days. We are here in a hotel managed by the committee until the end of the final round. This place will be yours." the chairman spoke, everyone listening intently, on one side the previous examiners, on the other hunters in suits that had previous followed the wannabes round.

Everyone held a baited breath, waiting for netero the chairman to revel the last part of the exam.

"The last trail will be..." he waited for a dramatic effect, "in the form of duels of 1 vs 1"

He grabbed the cloth covering the board pulling it slowly away, "the groups are the following..."

Kyriak blinked, it was a badly balanced fighting chart. Her number was between 53 and 99... so, she would fight whoever won the fight of 53 or was it the loser that continued to fight...

In short, she was confused at first glance.

"Go and now the rules in the last round. It's very simple" the chairman explained, holding up a finger, "one victory and you pass the exam, in other words in this tournament winners quit the game one by one"

She nodded in understand zoning only to blinked and pout as netero states you weren't allow to kill the opponent.

Killua gripped her hand pulling her off to the side as the first match began.

Hanzo versus gon.

She watched blanky as gon was severally out classed by Hanzo. The older male having been trained and more experiences when it came to combat. She didn't blink, nor get anger like some of the gang *cough* leorio, kurapika *cough*.

She could sort of understand where they were coming from but at the same time, she couldn't. Growing up with Thorin and being from metero city as well as her own personal experiences...

This was an experiences, it was supposed to be hard/ challenge to overcome. Something to show that you are the best of the best. It wouldn't help if she where to step in it was gons fight. Her papa had told her that everyone needed to fight their own fight – you couldn't save them from everything.

So, sliver hues watched silently as the odd sided battle progressed. With gon being stubborn and Hanzo underestimating and being nice because the boy was a lot younger.

Somehow gon won the battle. Well, she didn't understand why Hanzo had given up he clearly had the advantaged and skills to win. (Even broke an arm and knocked him out)

The next round was kurapika vs hisoka.

After this point in time kyriak was starting to lose any form of concentration towards the matches. Opting to sit cross legged on the ground and doodle notes and ideas in her little notebook hidden in her obi.

Hisoka gave up after a little match against kurapika and whispering into the blonde's ear.

The third match was Hanzo and Pokkuru the young archer.

This match ended quickly. Pokkuru admitting defeat when Hanzo threatens to break the younger arm – he was an archer after all.

4th match was against hisoka and an old martial artist named Bodoro. Hisoka cleaned the floor with the determined stubborn old man. But it wasn't until hisoka whispered something into the man's ear before he admitted defeat.

Which lead to this moment kyriak verses pokkuru.

Killua glanced down towards the younger girl. She blissfully unaware of the stare she was getting from the other in the room. "Kyriak" he spoke trying to get the girls attention to no avail.

"Kyriaaaaaaaaaakk!" he yelled loudly. Still nothing.

"Why don't we play a game~" hisoka voiced broke through her daydream.

Sliver hues blinked turning towards the other red head. "Huh? What did you say?"

"Nothing~" hisoka purred a glit of something in his eye as he stared at the girl.

"Kyriak" sliver sighed from his position besides, internally thanking and adding it to his knowledge of ways to get the girls attention. What was up with her and playing games? "it's your turn"

"Oh, why didn't you say so!" she grinned, blissfully unaware of the deadpanned looks the group was giving her all thinking. What do you think we were trying to do...

Kyriak skipped into the middle, staring at a cautious pokkuru, the boy looking at her with suspicion. She turned towards the referee, "can I kill him?"

"No, killing will lead to failing the exam. This was mentioned at the start you can only win by your opponent admitting defeat"

"Ah, I forgot" she shrugged smiling at the boy. "Hey! Why don't we play a game!" she grinned eyes sparkling.

"Aren't we already playing a game?" he muttered staring at the girl with suspicion.

"This will be a different one," she mutters, putting her hand to her check in thought, "we have two game! Whoever loses Foreits the match!" she smiled.

"I never agreed to this" muttered pokkuru.

"Just rolled with it" killua called with a snickered. Only to be silently scowled by a worried kurapika.

"The games you get to choose, either a game of luck and choice or skill!"

He narrowed his eyes at her, "what's the catch?"

"No catch, you win you get a hunter licence, you lose you move onto the next match. Simple!" kyriak explained, the smile never leaving her face.

The male looked at her, he had heard of her skills in passing (the show at the start of the exam) it does put her at an advantage skill wise seeing he couldn't successfully use his bow without killing/putting his targets to sleep and he didn't have the skills nor guts to torture someone. He thought it over, "game of luck" he concluded, a shiver rolling down his spine. Why does he feel like He's made a deal with the devil.

He let out a sigh of relief Apon hearing what the game entails.

It was rock, paper, scissors.

Seeing the let pout on the girl's face, he concluded that it was the better option of the two. The game of skill, may have left him without a limb or two not that he knew that.

The relief was short lived as he lost to the girl 2-1.

As much as the author would live to write a dramatic battle of wits and cunning the game no doubtingly possessed. She hasn't the skill to write it to the way she wants...

"That was like a YuGiOh battle!" kyriak grinned glancing at something no one could see.

"what's YuGiOh?" questioned the group as the author hurriedly tried to patch of the cracks in the fourth wall.

"Huh? What did you ask?" she asked, the red head tilting her head in confusion.

"What you just-" leorio started only to be cut off by kurapika, "don ask..." he said in a knowingly voice.

Kyriak wins this round.

Leading to the next battle. Killua vs pokkuru.

Before the battle even started, the slivernet gave up, saying that the boy was too weak and he wanted something harder.

Leading up to the moment of gittarackur against killua.
