I have added some more details about the layout of the timeline in the book summary. This way no one is confused and if anyone has any more questions that need to be answered just ask them in the review of this chapter and the answer will be posted in the next chapter I post. (If I am able or at liberty to answer it. NO SPOILERS.)

Chapter 2: Escaped Memories

Harry's Dreamscape 3 years old

There is a boy that looks just like Harry but his name is Henrik and he is hiding behind a tree. He keeps peeking out trying to see if he had been followed. While his back is turned one way another boy a few years older, Henriks older brother Kol, quietly sneaks up behind him with a wooden bucket filled with water. With no warning, Henrik is now drenched with the cold liquid and shouts out in surprise. (A manly shout not a girlish scream and if anyone says otherwise they are lying.) Kol then takes off running with Henrik in hot pursuit.

Kol slowly allows Henrik to catch him and then they proceed to wrestle in a meadow not far from their house. They spend the rest of the day goofing off and just being boys until their mother calls them back to their home for their evening meal. Most of the time they would not be allowed to act like this but their father is currently away in another village. This means they won't be punished for just being children. The dream ends when Henrik finally goes to sleep.

End of Dreamscape

A young three-year-old boy woke with a smile on his face while the new dream settled itself into his memories. This boy was Harry Potter but he didn't know that he believed his name was Freak Boy. He wouldn't learn of his common name until he started school and he wouldn't learn of his true name till years later.

(I am just going to use Harry even though he doesn't know his name because it is easier for me but for this chapter just know that Harry believes his name to be Freak Boy.)

Harry lived with his Aunt and Uncle Petunia and Vernon Dursley along with his cousin Dudley. He didn't live with his parents because they were killed in a car crash when he was only a baby. His aunt Petunia told him that his dad got drunk and crashed the car. This was also where Harry got his lightning bolt scar. When he was told this he started to resent his father for taking his mum away from him and making him live with The Dursleys.

The Dursleys were a normal family, living in a normal neighborhood everything about them was completely normal. Well, they liked to believe that anyway.

You see, normal people wouldn't make their 3-year-old nephew sleep in the closet under the stairs; do an excessive amount of chores; beat him until he loses consciousness, and then literally toss him in his cupboard; or call him FREAK and BOY so much that he believes that his name is FREAK BOY. No normal people wouldn't do any of that, but the Dursleys do. Also, their appearances didn't help things much. Vernon looks like a beached whale with a blonde wig, Petunia looks like a Giraffe and Horse hybrid, and Dudley looked like an inflated beach ball that got dressed in cute little outfits. This family was far from normal.

Of course, things didn't start this bad but they certainly didn't start well either.

On the morning of November 1, 1994, Harry was found by Petunia when she was putting out the old milk bottles to be picked up. There on the doorstep with nothing but a letter and a blanket, that was suspiciously still cozy and warm as if it just came out of the dryer, was 18 month Harry Potter with a fresh scar over his right eye. The scream she let out woke not only her husband but also her surrounding neighbors.

When Petunia started to see the lights come on in the other houses she quickly scooped up Harry (more like held him like he had a contagious disease) and then rushed into the house. The letter told the Dursleys that Harry's parents were now dead and that he was being given to them to look after. (The whole letter will be in later chapters.) After reading the letter, neither Vernon nor Petunia was happy about the situation but decided to take the boy in instead of turning him over to the authorities.

Petunia later told the neighbors that the scream was from learning the fate of her sister and her sister's husband. Then she went into the sob story of how now they had to take care of her orphaned nephew who already had signs of taking after his parents in the worst way possible. None of them believed her, people can tell a scream of terror and a scream of sadness apart. They did however believe that the boy would be nothing but trouble after observing him for the next couple of years. If only they were smart enough to recognize signs of child abuse and neglect.

The main theory going around the street was that Petunia's deranged sister and her husband had probably broken into the house to do who knows what. They then were spooked by Petunia and they ran out of the house leaving their son there. There was that one neighbor who thought Vernon murdered the two and kidnapped the child and the scream was Petunia releasing what her husband had done when he brought the boy home covered in blood. Nobody paid attention to him, those kinds of things just didn't happen in a nice neighborhood like theirs.

The first week went by without a problem but with some adjusting. Harry slept in Dudley's playpen, which the boy never used because he would cry until his mummy picked him up. It was set up in the spare room that just housed some of Dudley's old toys that they hadn't gotten rid of yet. They had an extra highchair already for when Petunia's friends would visit with their children, of course, it was not as expensive as Dudley's but it would do. All of Dudley's old-too-small clothes fit Harry just fine so they did not need to go shopping. They refused to buy another size of diaper so they just used tape to keep the Dudley-sized diapers from falling off the boy, who was too skinny for a normal baby according to Vernon.

When Dudley finally realized that Harry was not leaving like all the other babies that came over he didn't like it. So he started, unknowingly, of course, testing the limits of what was allowed with this new addition to his life. At first, when Harry was playing with some of his old toys because he wasn't allowed Dudley's new things. Dudley would snatch the toy away even if it was a toy he didn't like. Harry would then look to Petunia or Vernon but they never did anything.

Next was demanding the rest of Harry's food after he had scarfed down his own. To give Petunia some credit, she initially tried to give Dudley seconds but he refused everything except Harry's food. Of course Petunia didn't want her baby to starve so she relented and handed over whatever Harry hadn't eaten. She then refused to waste seconds on THE FREAK so Harry had to go without. Harry's crying was met with a pop to the mouth from Petunia which gave Dudley his next idea.

The next time he took a toy away from Harry he promptly hit Harry over the head with it. Again Petunia and Vernon did nothing except pop Harry in the mouth for crying. He started pushing Harry down, but nothing was done. Punching him in the face, as much as a baby could punch, nothing was done. Grabbing his hair until Harry cried, nothing was done. Dudley even pushed Harry down the stairs one time and still nothing was done to stop his behavior towards his cousin. Dudley soon learned that he could do anything to his cousin and his parents didn't care one bit but he wasn't allowed to do any of that to the other kids that came over, just to Harry.

After a few weeks of this, Harry had had enough, and one day when Dudley hit him, he promptly stood up and pushed Dudley over. The scream that Dudley let out was ear-piercing and could be heard down the street. Harry expected Dudley to be popped in the mouth for crying like he always was but that wasn't what happened.

When Vernon ran (waddled) into the living room and saw what had happened his face started to change from white to red. If he was a cartoon character then smoke would have been coming out of his ears.

He then yanked Harry up by his arm, not caring about the sickening pop that was heard coming from the boy's shoulder, and opened the first door he saw, which was the cupboard under the stairs, and he proceeded to throw the child in it so hard he cracked his head on the wall and passed out. After slamming the door and locking the small latch on the door the Dursleys then rushed Dudley to the ER to make sure that the Freak didn't cause any lasting harm to their 'precious darling'.

What nobody was there to see was a white light going through the child's body to all the damaged places and healing the small boy. It then started to fix the problems that not eating enough was causing to his small frame. It would later be known that with some help from the otherside, Harry's magic was basically jumpstarted from its dormant state into an active state.

See a wand wielder's magic laid dormant except in extreme emotional or survival situations (accidental magic) until they turned 11 years old, or whenever early puberty started. This was because magic needed certain hormones that were only released during the early stages of puberty. (My idea.) So Harry's jumpstart was these hormones becoming activated earlier than usual. This was very risky for a child as young as Harry because nine times out of ten introducing those certain hormones would induce early puberty. Luckily for Harry, he also had Wiccan magic that negated that from happening. Purebloods though still practice this since it allows their magical core to start growing earlier.

Wand wielders went through three magical maturities. The first happened at 11 when their magic went from dormant to active and started growing. With more use the more it would grow, which is why the older you got the more magic you could do. The second maturity happened at 17, when they became an adult, their magical core would stabilize and the growth rate would be cut in half. The third maturity was at 21 when the core expand rapidly, usually to twice its size.

When the core is activated early then they have more time for their core to grow at an accelerated rate thus giving them a bigger core for their third maturity to double. This also gave the wand wielder a greater chance of achieving wandless magic because of the amount of magic required for it.

This was only one of the many secrets that the purebloods used to keep themselves above muggle-borns. This process however did not work on squibs and some wand wielders just cant perform no matter how much magic they have access to.

Now Wiccan magic can start to be used as early as five years old, but it takes years and years to master Wiccan magic. Most parents will have their children start meditation and communing with nature first. What the children don't know is that by doing these things and not changeling magic into spells, they are helping their bodies prepare for when they start to channel magic. Children who learn meditation and to commune with nature first have an easier time of using magic later on.

Everybody who says that magic is not sentient is a fool, because as soon as Harry's magic was given the jump it needed she felt that her human was in danger and started to fix him. A wand wielder's magic usually associated itself as female but so few wand wielders took the time to commune with their magic that only a few knew how aware their magic was. A person's magic was also very protective of their human and in times of great need would act without their human knowing.

The next day the Dursleys saw that Harry was looking healthier and better than he had in weeks. Vernon then proceeded to drag the child out and beat him all the while saying to stop using his freakishness in his house before throwing him back in the cupboard. Harry was left in the cupboard for a whole week but somehow when Petunia finally decided to change him, the boy's diaper was spotless. She didn't tell her husband about that because the less she had to take care of the Freak the better.

That first night in the cupboard was also the night that Harry started having his dreams.

He only ever dreamed of one family and he doesn't understand why. The dreams always start when his dream self Henrik wakes up and then ends when he goes to sleep. Harry has often wondered if Henrik is real and dreaming of him as he is dreaming of Henrik. However due to Henrik not asking his parents about the dreams Harry believes that the dreaming is only one way.

He often wished that his dream family was real and would come and save him from his ongoing nightmare. Even if Father acted like Vernon sometimes.

His dream family consisted of a mummy and a daddy who were also called Esther and Mikael by strangers and then mother and father by him and his siblings.

Dream mother had long blonde hair and a kind smile most of the time and she could do magic. That is another thing Harry loved about his dream family, they could do magic. Well Mother and Kol could, the rest had the ability but didn't practice. Except for Father, Mother said that Father didn't have any magic in blood but the blood of a warrior instead.

Father, also had long blonde hair and had a stern and mean look. Father was a lot like the Dursleys in some ways when it came to punishment but it was never as bad as Vernon's punishments. Harry didn't like him very much but all things considered, he would take dream father over real Dursleys any day.

He also had five siblings in his dreams. The Oldest was Finn, who also had long hair except his hair was brown. In fact, everyone in his dreams had long hair and they spoke a different language. Harry didn't even know it was a different language until he answered a question his aunt had asked him using it. He got a frying pan to head for that freakishness. After that, he made sure to only speak English from then on while he was awake. It was hard at first since he had memories of being taught how to speak that other language but his aunt and uncle never took the time to do the same for English. He had to watch and listen to figure it out for himself.

Anyways according to his other siblings, Finn had a stick up his butt. Why he wanted a stick up there was unknown to Harry because it seemed to him that it would be very uncomfortable. Harry hoped that his dream self wouldn't have to put a stick up his butt as well.

The second-born son was Elijah, his hair was darker almost black, and of course was kept long. Since Finn didn't like the others very much, Elijah took the first-born son's responsibility for the younger siblings upon himself. He even wished that he could protect them from their father as well but they had all learned the hard lesson to not interrupt a punishment or try to have it lessened. They all now knew that if anyone tried to undermine their father's authority that the punishment would be shared and become worse. Much worse.

The third-born son was Niklaus. He had dirty long blonde hair and for some reason always felt different from the others to his dream self. Mother said that was his early magic sensing what could not be seen and not to worry about how he felt. His dream self was also not allowed to tell anyone that Niklaus felt different, especially his father.

Niklaus loved making all sorts of things from toys he carved out of wood or paintings from mixing different types of flowers to get great colors. He was also the one that Father punished the most and most severely. The worst one yet was when Father caught Niklaus whittling little chess pieces with Father's hunting knife.

The fourth-born son was Kol. Kol's hair was in-between Finn's and Elijah's in color but just as long. He was the joker out of them and loved learning magic and communing with nature. Harry often wondered what communing meant but was never told and he couldn't control his dream self to ask. He just knew that Mother would teach him two winters before his magic training would begin.

The second-born daughter and only living sister was Rebeka. She took after Mother in her looks but had a vicious streak that could give Father a run for his money or gold in this case. Rebeka was also the one who was punished the least and given more material things, her being the only living daughter. Henrik knew that they had had another sister, but she had died from sickness long before even Elijah was born. Her name was Freya.

Finally, there was Henrik, he was the fifth-born son and the baby of the family. Henrik looked exactly like Harry except he had no scar and his almost midnight black hair was to his shoulders now but would reach his back around his 5th or 6th winter. Being the baby of the family gave Henrik a lot of freeway that his other siblings didn't have but in no way did his parents allow him to become even a fraction of what Dudley was like.

You see his dream family was a Viking family that lived very far in the past from what he could tell. Harry didn't know what being a Viking meant but he knew that they were a type of warrior. All the sons were taught how to fight and in secret, they would teach Rebeka so she wasn't defenseless. Henrik would start his training after his 5th winter but he always loved to watch his siblings train.

He wanted to train like them but he also wanted to magic, luckily when his parents heard this they were very pleased. He would be a true warrior but would have the gift of magic as well. His parents told him that he would have almost double the work but he didn't care. He wanted to fight but the art of magic was equally as enticing.

After his dream parents' positive reviews of Henrik's goals, Harry tried to tell his aunt and uncle the same thing, hoping that they would be proud of him as well. Ya, it didn't turn out the same at all. The second he mentioned magic they both froze before his uncle had gotten madder than Harry had ever seen him. The beating that followed that conversation was so bad that Harry woke up in his uncle's trunk, wrapped in a rubbish bag (trash bag). His uncle had thought he had killed him and was on his way to dispose of the body. After that, Harry never mentioned magic again but was not discouraged in his pursuit.

His relative's reactions must mean that they knew about magic and with how they always said he shouldn't use his freakishness that must mean he had magic in the awake world as well. He really couldn't wait until he turned ten winters, that was when Mother would start to teach him the ways of magic. Mother wouldn't explain why he had to wait so long when Kol got to start after 8th winter, she just said everyone was different. Harry believed that she just didn't want Henrik to grow up as fast as his siblings.

Another weird thing about his dreams was that he felt everything that Henrik felt and experienced even after waking up. It was like every dream became memories instead of dreams. Harry also retained all the knowledge that came with these dream memories. It is like he lives his life as Harry Potter during the day but then he lives his dream life as Henrik Mikaelson at night.

Essentially living two lives meant that Harry was further ahead in his mental development than other kids his age. He was also very smart for his age but knew to never show his true potential while living with his relatives. For some other odd reason, his body also resembled that of Henrik's, well-fed and healthy.

One morning he even woke up with his hair to his shoulders just like Henrik but the Dursleys made sure that he understood that was freakishness and wasn't allowed. Also, his injuries would always be healed after he dreamed. He didn't know if it was the dream doing that or if his own magic healed him since his healing never happened in the daytime and he never slept without the dreams. He did notice that even though he was given less food that he was never actually going hungry like he used to. Maybe his magic was helping him after all.

It was only through his dream family that he learned what love, kindness, and happiness was. He also concluded that there was nothing wrong with him for the Dursleys to treat him as they did. There was something wrong with them. Harry might have magic but at least he wasn't a monster like they were.

THE OTHERSIDE

To say that Esther Mikaelson, the Original Witch, was pissed off would be the understatement of the millennium. First, she had to stand by and watch the farce of a headmaster bind her baby's core then leave her baby on a doorstep on a cold November night with nothing more than a warming charm on his blanket. Lilly and James weren't impressed either. Anything could have happened to him that night. He could have been kidnapped, he could have woken up and wandered up, hell he could have been abducted by aliens. Okay, maybe not that last one but still, that was very irresponsible of the old goat.

(In this story, wand wielders are supernatural so they get sent to the otherside as well. If you don't know what that is then google The Vampire Diaries Otherside, or watch the series. However, in this version, I have it so that if any spirit on the otherside has a living connection to another spirit, then they can see and interact with them.)

Dying was enough of a traumatic experience but then finding out that their son was the reincarnation of the youngest son of the witch that created the original vampires was just as shocking for the Potters. Their feelings on the matter were shoved aside though as they watched what was done to their son. In the last year and a half, all three of them became united in the goal to somehow save their son from the life had. Sadly for them, they couldn't do anything until they could contact Harry and the only way to do that was through his magic. However, since Dumbledore place a bind on Harry's magic they would have to wait until his magic grew enough to talk to them and keep healing him. They were lucky that James knew how to jumpstart the core or they would have to wait until Harry turned 11 or started to actively use his Wiccan magic.

See unknown to Harry at the moment, his magic was almost constantly in use. His magic not only healed him but it supplemented itself for the nutrients that he lacked from practically being starved. If he was a normal non-magical child then he would have died within the first six months of living with the Dursleys. They predicted that at around age five he would have enough magic to spare. Until then they would have to watch, hope, and pray that Harry would make it until then.

Since there was not much else to do for them they began to talk and tell their life stories. When the Potters found out about the true reason Esther had for creating the original vampires they felt sorrow for her. All she wanted to do was protect her family. That sorrow turned into anger when they found out that she now wanted to fix her mistake and that meant killing her children. That led to James having to hold Lilly back as she lunged for Esther.

Esther thinking that her reaction was due to them believing that Harry was part of that plan, tried to explain that she only wanted to kill her vampire children. Ya, that didn't help calm Lilly down at all. To Lilly, any child is a gift and to kill your own no matter what the circumstances is just unthinkable and unforgivable to her. It would take time but the couple began to scheme and plan to change not only Esther's plan but her way of thinking when it concerned her children as well.

See Esther believed that she went against nature in creating vampires but in reality, nature would never let something that wasn't meant to be come into existence. Since Vampires existed that meant they were meant to. Esther had the ego to believe that she knew better than mother nature and magic itself. It was going to be a long two years.
