Spring Yard

A week has passed after Eggman's defeat.

Outside at the field, a bunch of anthropomorphic children are playing ball which shows one one end is Sonic the Hedgehog's team and the other is Johnny Lightfoot the Rabbit's team.

The gray rabbit boy in a red jacket is playing with the ball as he's dancing in front of Sonic's team that includes Mighty and Ray.

"You long eared moron!" Ray growls.

"Heh. You guys are good, but can you get past this?" Johnny asked while smirking at both Mighty and Ray.

Before Mighty takes a step forward, Johnny kicks the ball and zooms past Mighty and Ray, going ahead towards the goal.

The ball is passed to a bird boy while he passes it to a squirrel boy, only for the squirrel boy to be caught off guard by the one and only Sonic the Hedgehog.

Kicking the ball to Ray, Sonic pulls up his thumb and runs as fast as he could, making Ray pass it to Mighty as Mighty himself booted the ball, leading to Sonic shooting the ball as hard as he could as the pig kid missed.

Goal as the score is 2-1, meaning Sonic wins the game.

"All right!" Mighty cheers as he, Sonic, Ray and a rooster kid bump each other's chests as they celebrate their victory together.

"Good game, Sonic. Man, I didn't know you could do that." Johnny laughs while approaching Sonic and his team.

"Heh. It's worth taking the risk. I'll teach you how to cut off the ball." Said Sonic while raising his arm.

"Sure thing." Johnny shakes Sonic's hand with a cheerful smile.

While shaking hands, Sonic and the boys are seeing a bunch of girls cheering for their performances, especially when Bunnie is supporting Sonic and his team.

Sonic knows about Johnny Lightfoot after saving his life at the Marble zone, making Johnny far more grateful and looking up to Sonic like a hero.

"I wonder if Clutch has something good on TV." The squirrel boy said, with excitement.

"Man, I can't wait to see what's on!" Said the chicken girl.

After the game is over, Sonic and his friends are checking out what's on TV.

Inside a mansion building, Clutch is waiting for a phone call as it rings, seeing how worried Sally was about her family.

Finally a click happened.

"It's for you, kid." Clutch hands over the phone to Sally while watching her call.

"Father? Father, it's me." Sally speaks out through the phone.

[That voice… Sally? Is that really you!?] A man's voice gasped with surprise.

"It's me, father! Thank goodness you're okay!" Sally cries with joy after hearing her father is okay.

[I… I don't understand. After Eggman's attack, I thought all of my family was gone. Thank heavens you're still safe.] Sally's father sighed with relief, hearing his daughter being safe outside of the kingdom.

"We defeated Eggman. It's over thanks to Sonic." Sally informed her father.

[Really? You mean Sonic is real?]

"Yeah. He's just a hedgehog that's 10 years old and he managed to use the chaos emeralds against Eggman." Sally explains.

[Interesting. So Sonic is able to protect us this whole time and with the emeralds, that means we won't worry about Eggman anymore.]

"No. Also he's an angel. He's our hope."

[Indeed he was. Anyway, when are you coming back?]

"You see, I was told that we use Eggman's machines to get there, but we need a different vehicle. I don't know when I'll be back, but I can still talk to you." Said Sally.

Sally's father is silent, worried that his daughter isn't able to come back home, but is sure to see how safe she is.

"Father?"

[Nothing. I hope you return safely.] Sally's father calmly finishes his call as Sally nods.

"Yeah. See you soon, father." Sally hands the phone back to Clutch, leading to Clutch watching the children playing around out of the window.

"It's alright, Nigel Acorn. When your daughter comes back, she'll be as happy as a sunflower." Clutch said.

[Thank you, sir.] Nigel is grateful for Clutch's care for Sally, especially when they're separated on different islands.

As the phone hangs up, Clutch turns towards Sally and kneels while patting Sally's shoulder.

"We'll find a vehicle to return you back to your kingdom. A brave young girl like yourself has proven your loyalty to those who befriended you."

"It's okay, Clutch. I always have my friends with me." Sally nods with a confident smile.

"Heh. Run along, dear, they're waiting for you." Clutch stands up while letting Sally go.

As the door opened, Tekno the Canary, an anthropomorphic green feathered canary girl In a red and black striped sweater, appeared.

"Morning, Tekno." Sally cheerfully greets Tekno.

"Ah! Um… Morning, Miss Sally." Tekno meekly moves aside as Sally runs through the corridor.

Approaching Clutch, Tekno sits on a chair while waiting for Clutch to respond.

"Tekno."

"Mr. Clutch, I found something unusual on this island." Tekno puts down the photos as Clutch remains calm about it.

"I can see that. The Little Planet… Why is it chained onto earth?" Clutch asks.

"I have no idea. But it doesn't look good either. Both planets should not be that close to each other." Tekno points out the uncertain fate earth will meet.

"I could assume that someone is doing Dr. Eggman's deeds after he was defeated." Clutch says while drinking Chaos Cola through his glass cup.

"That could be the case. How are we going to break the chain?"

"Hehehe." Clutch chuckles after hearing Tekno's question.

"What's so funny?" Tekno asked.

"You know Sonic's story is just the beginning. He may have defeated the doctor, but his challenges are getting tougher the further he goes. His future will determine his ongoing fate." Clutch puts the cup down and rings his finger around the top of the glass with a sinister smile.

"In other words…"

"Dr. Eggman has found his playmate. The story of Sonic vs. Dr. Eggman is coming to play and the victor gets to keep the world. A classic game of cat and mouse." Clutch answers.

This shocks Tekno, knowing a 10 year old kid is being targeted by a human scientist that now has a beef against him.

Stopping at the entrance, Sonic and his friends are seeing a planet chained on the mountain of South Island, making them question if this is the new moon.

"I don't know what this is, but it's creepy." Ray worries that it'll crash into earth.

"Mr. Sonic?" Bunnie, along with other kids, are looking at Sonic, who is smiling.

"I'll be back." Sonic waves with a salute and then charges off as the children are silent.

Johnny remains silent, knowing that Sonic is still out to discover something potentially dangerous, leading him to walk forward.

"Where is he going?" Asking from behind, Sally arrives after seeing him running from them.

"I have no idea, but he's heading towards the chain that is on this strange planet." Said the chicken girl, leading Sally to gasp with surprise.

The Little Planet is closer to earth with a chain attached to it as both planets are stuck together.

"This is…" Sally turns towards other kids with a shocked reaction.

"I don't know either, but-... Hey! Where did Johnny go!?" Mighty turns left and right, seeing as Johnny disappeared out of nowhere.

An engine revving noise has caught the children's attention as a bike slides, revealing behind the helmet is Tekno.

"Everyone! I want all of you to stay put! I'll be right back!" Tekno calls and then starts her bike while moving towards the chain like Sonic does.

Further outside in South Island, a pink furred hedgehog girl in a green shirt and yellow skirt is reading the cards while looking into her fortune as she receives the tower.

"Hrmm… Why do I always have bad luck? Curse my fortune telling." The pink hedgehog moans while fiddling with the tarot cards.

Before she shuffles them up, a wind blows as the hedgehog shrieks with the cards landing on her face.

One of them she holds out is lovers, making her gasp and then look at a certain blue hedgehog right in front of her.

To the hedgehog's shock, she recognises that blue fur as if he's a familiar looking hedgehog.

Sonic turns around, calmly looking at the pink hedgehog with a little surprise in him.

Sonic stands still as his serious expression is a far cry from the one the pink hedgehog's usually familiar with.

There's no way this can be him as the pink hedgehog girl shakes her head and stares at Sonic.

"Um… Who are you, mister? You look familiar." The pink hedgehog said.

Sonic looks at Little Planet as he's clenching his fists.

He clearly knows the pink hedgehog as he's unable to say anything to her, leading him to run at the speed of sound, leading the pink hedgehog to look at Little Planet and then run after Sonic.

Building a UFO looking machine, Eggman is in a very different location, thinking about what he should do when the planet is his to rule.

Footsteps approaching Eggman which makes him turn around.

"Hello, Dr. Robotnik." A familiar voice said with a smirk.

"Oh. It's you. Care to ask why you returned?" Eggman asks, seeing as Breezie is on another job to do.

"Hm. Is that a way to greet a future businesswoman?" Breezie sighs while sitting on one of Eggman's desks.

"Hm? Businesswoman? But you're just a kid. The only reason I hired you is so you can prevent any quote unquote 'hero' from ruining my goals to obtain the chaos emeralds, which seemed to fail." Eggman can tell but was confused about what Breezie calls herself.

Releasing a green gemstone out of her hand, Breezie is showing Eggman the thing she has which had Eggman curious.

"Hello? Is that a time stone?" Eggman asks.

"Is that what it is?" Breezie stops herself and looks at the said time stone.

"Indeed. These things will grant you control of the timelines. Obtain 7 of them and you'll become a God, although that's too absurd since Gods are just a myth." Said Eggman.

In Breezie's case, to become a God is to obtain a similar number as the chaos emeralds, making her think about what she'll do for her past and future.

"Interesting… So that explains why I entered the past."

"Hm? What do you mean?" Eggman is confused.

"I saw you at G.U.N. earlier. Interesting friends you got there." Breezie reveals the past as Eggman drops his tools out of shock.

"Hey! Don't snoop into other people's history like that! What'll happen if there's a time paradox!?" Eggman exclaimed.

"Your friends I read through. Tell me about your former friends, doc." Breezie leans forward.

This had Eggman shuddering and then take the time stone from Breezie's hand, showing her the same people she sees.

Humans and anthropomorphic creatures.

"This one over there is Sir Charles the Hedgehog, as many address him as Chuck. He is Sonic's biological uncle and was formerly my lab partner." Said Eggman.

"You worked together on finding a cure for the Neuro-Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Trying to find a way to cure an incurable disease with a partner. Doesn't sound very villainous of you, doctor." Breezie giggles.

"Oh please. I bet you haven't heard of Professor Gerald Robotnik." Eggman reveals the name of a man that has never been brought up for a while.

"Professor Gerald Robotnik… I heard of him. He's a famous scientist that built many machines that helped us."

"Exactly. He also did the best he could to cure the NIDS in order to save his granddaughter, who is also my cousin."

Breezie gasps after hearing who Eggman was, then it hits her as his name she already knew is Ivo Robotnik, the grandson of Gerald Robotnik.

"Our recent subject is an anthropomorphic lynx, Nicole Ellidy the Lynx. We saw her at Westside Island. She was a happy child who's strong enough to fight against the illness." Eggman points out as Breezie stares at Eggman.

"Did this Chuck guy continue?" Breezie asked.

"He was a stubborn old fool, so he did continue without me." Eggman answers and moves to a couple of hedgehogs. "These two are Sonic's parents Jules aka Paulie the Hedgehog and his wife Bernadette aka Brenda the Hedgehog whose birth name is Aleena the Hedgehog. They're Sonic's parents." Eggman answered.

"So Jules is Chuck's little brother, huh?"

"Of course, hence Bernadette is his sister-in-law. They're combatant members since Jules is the toughest fighter and Bernadette is a rebellious woman with that much speed. I was wondering why she passed down the running speed to Sonic. After they're married they have 2 children." Eggman continues.

"2? So who is the other one?" Breezie asked.

"Sonic's little sister Tania is already located at Westside Island, after I took their parents." Eggman moves on as more people are being shown.

"There's more, huh?" Breezie looks at Eggman, seeing as there's something deeper inside Eggman's history.

"Exactly. That one over there is Dr. Finitevus the Echidna, Dr. Zachary the Echidna, Cyrus the Lion who's a child prodigy, Black Doom, Duke of Soleanna, Julian Robotnik my nephew, Tundra the Walrus, Isabella the Mongoose and Chuck Thorndyke. We're a science group dedicated to creating new medication and technologies using our shared minds. That is until I was branded as a traitor." Eggman revealed more of his former colleagues.

"And why is that?" Breezie is interested in more of Eggman's history.

"Because I've been caught attacking not just islands, but continents as well, leading me to be G.U.N.'s most wanted list. But I need my empire built. Eggmanland is the perfect way to start my goal." Eggman pulls a devious grin while tossing a time stone to Breezie, making the past vanish. "Who needs a bunch of brainless buffoons when you have 300 IQ, that's why I have my own goals set."

Breezie understands why Clutch and Eggman call each other, even though they sometimes argue through the phone.

This had Eggman halt and then turn towards Breezie.

"Wait a minute, why didn't you help me upgrade Scratch and Grounder in the past!? It would've benefitted me to have the chaos emeralds and take those brats down!" Eggman snapped while pulling Breezie's shirt.

This had Breezie remembering Eggman's embarrassing defeat which caused her to snicker.

"Why you!" Eggman growls as Breezie breaks down with laughter.

"Oh come on, doc, it's hilarious leaving your robots as useless as they always are." Breezie laughed.

Eggman grumbles while letting the hedgehog go and look at the Little Planet.

"When you're done with your past, the future will be as good as mine. I'll make sure history is rewritten and nothing will stop me!" Eggman laughs, preparing for his newfound future to take over a planet as his own.

As Breezie vanishes, Eggman can see a new location that is under construction in his map, widening Eggman's grin.

This time, it's Eggman's turn to win the battle between him and Sonic.
