Over the rest of the week, everyone was started to get settled into their place.
Balin was getting back into his five-day school routine at No-Name Town, while business at I.M.P has hit a peak with how efficient Neptune and Marijiana have already proven to be as new employees since their first mission.
...
AT SCHOOL...
Balin began every school day getting dropped off by Loona, who secretly gave him a kiss on the cheek for good luck every time before walking down to the courtyard.
During lunch time, because it lasted an hour long, a lot of kids gathered around he and Matt's hangout spot to hear the boy's tragic story and his friendship adventures with Loona since then. ...A hundred times it was told as of that week.
Recess time proved different as the two boys and their friends played a different sport at the court near the playground.
As for his five classes a day, he was already getting good marks in Maths, English, and his other elected courses:
...
PERFORMING ARTS:
As teased by Matt, Balin loved to perform. So choosing Drama and Music as his favourite arts, he got to learn to tap into both sides of himself with confidence like he always wanted to, as long as some of the classes were away from his crush since he didn't want her to hear his beautiful singing voice just yet.
But whatever performance workshops the class had to do, Balin rehearsed in the back area of the classroom where he used to his lunch everyday before, but still performed outstandingly.
SPORTS & RECREATION STUDIES:
He also found his strength after meeting Loona when she chased him through the school. So with the thought of that AND his swimming lesson days as a post-toddler, he chose this course based not only off his love of sports with his friends, but also as a way of pretending to work with I.M.P in the future.
ITALIAN (BEGINNERS):
Italy was one of Balin's favourite countries and languages, but he didn't know a lot about it yet. So whenever Loona brought him to the office after school, Moxxie would sit with him and help him with this homework, teaching him the different dialect he once used, being born and raised into a Mafia family back in the day.
Loona would often look up from her phone or magazine, secretly pleased at how well Fatty was influencing him.
SCIENCE:
Thanks to his love of space from Stolas, Balin had really gotten into science. Picking this class, he knew he wasn't learning ALL about space and its stars, yet, but because he read the shit-ton of astrology books in his library, it was close enough.
...
Sometimes after getting picked up by Loona, Balin would visit Stolas' mansion to have some after-school tutoring from the Goetia prince and his daughter. Again, he may have been in danger from his ex, but that didn't mean he couldn't spend some free time with the little human.
THAT FRIDAY...
3:15PM.
The final bell of the school day rang, and the little boy ran out of the school saying goodbye to Matt, before running up to Loona AND to his surprise, another human who stood right next to her, wearing nearly the same clothes as Stolas.
"Oh. Hello, sir." said the boy kindly, even though he was like a stranger. "What's your name?"
"Balin, it's me." said the gentleman in a British accent. "It's Mr. Stolas."
"S-Stolas?" Balin widened his eyes in surprise. "Is it really you?"
"Yep. He just told you." Loona snickered at the little kid's reaction.
"How did you turn into a human, Mr. Stolas?" he asked.
"Well, you've seen how Loona blends in with mortals. Mine is the exact same spell." the prince then did a little model-like pose as if he was on the catwalk. "Do you like what you see, little one?"
"Yes, I do." Balin slowly nodded. "You look very cool."
"Why, thank you." Stolas then blushed a little, until he heard a car horn nearby.
It was Blitzø's I.M.P van waiting in the carpool lane.
"Uhm, guys! Ya might wanna hurry this along, I've got a Karen right behind me!" exclaimed Blitzø.
"Ooh, so Balin Johnson's your kid?" the Karen then said looking at the people he was talking to, while Buzz and Leni got in the car. "Hey! You! Yeah, you! You can't ignore me!" she then shouted out to Balin.
This made Balin nervously plant his head into the beefy thigh of a pissed-off Loona.
"Oh, so you're these little shits are your kids?" Blitzø then remarked at her. "My daughter's told me about them!"
"FUCKING ADOPTED, BLITZØ!" Loona shouted from afar.
Thankfully, she blocked the boy's ears while a lot of the kids were too far from the school now to hear her scream like that.
"Really...?" the Karen of a mother started speaking loudly so Blitzø could hear her taunting. "You tow, tell me what you did to this kid so I know how much I should raise your allowance this week."
"Oh, wow, what do you pay your kids with? McDonald's?" Blitzø taunted her back with an evil smirk.
"And that's the first time he's called someone ELSE fat!" added Moxxie, poking his head from the passenger's window.
Infuriated hearing that AND seeing Loona snicker afterwards, the Karen accelerated and bumped her car into the van's fender on purpose, making Blitzø yowl in fright.
"CHRIST, there goes another 900!" he exclaimed out loud to himself.
He started driving the van away from the school so fast, he ran over the lollipop man, turning him into a taffy man with little impales from the spikes on the tires.
"Alright, little Balin. Time for a ride!" sang Stolas, as Loona picked him up in her arms and the two grown-ups ran straight for Blitzø's van and quickly jumped through the passenger doors before it could drive away from the exit.
The three then quickly moved into their empty seats and buckled up, right next to where Via was sitting in her human disguise.
"Hello there, Balin." she giggled to the boy teasingly. "Having fun in there?"
The boy then looked to see that he had landed his face into Via's chest from the jump.
"Oh my gosh Via, I'm so sorry!" he said, quickly getting up and spitting some of the feathers from his mouth.
"It's alright, darling." she replied softly as she rubbed his head.
"So your girl got some new looks, huh?" Loona smirked to Stolas.
"Indeed she did." the prince replied. "My little Via, all grown up."
"Fun fact, Balin: Last time she was here, she was in her normal form the entire time." Blitzø educated Balin quietly.
"Blitzø!" Loona stopped him with a glare. "Not, now."
"Sorry." he then said as he kept on driving the van.
"So, where are we going?" asked the boy with a smile.
Tex started speaking as he, Neptune, and Marijiana were also in the far back seats of the car, also in their human disguises.
"Well lil' man, to celebrate you returning to school and the new girls' first week at I.M.P, ..."
"Without dying!" Blitzø interrupted.
"...Okay. We decided to hang out at a restaurant for a nice dinner tonight." Tex finished. "Maybe somewhere around here."
The two hellhounds then snickered at their new boss' twisted but somewhat funny sense of humour.
"Any requests for a spot, kid?" Loona asked the little boy.
"Well, I am thinking of Hot Slice." he replied. "My family loves eating there."
The demons in disguise didn't know what it was, but having agreed, they couldn't wait as Balin navigated Blitzø as he continued driving.
...
A FEW MOMENTS LATER...
at 'HOT SLICE...'
The van pulled up at the Main Street where 'Hot Slice Pizza Restaurant' was open for business.
As the gang hopped out, Neptune and Marijiana sniffed the food coming from inside, given their hound senses underneath their human looks, like it was just freshly cooked.
Neptune's human disguise was a slim African-American tomboy look, like a young Lupita Nyong'o from 'Black Panther' and 'The Wild Robot', but with her usual country clothes, nose piercings, and long-black hair like Balin's mom.
Marijiana's was a little more pale-skinned with her humongous locks of white hair, sort of like Maxine from YouTube's 'MadTown' series, still dressed in her usual jazzy-rock attire.
Tex giggled seeing the two hellhound girls sniff about, acting like puppies in their new styles.
"Trust me sis', once you've been doing this as long as I have, you get used to the features." Loona grinned as she looked at her phone in one hand and held Balin's with the other.
"You two look cute as humans." he then added.
"Really?" Neptune said excitedly. "We're cute?"
"Awww, thanks, cutie-pie." Marijiana knelt down and gave Balin a bear hug, making him a little flustered.
Soon, everyone took a seat at their table inside, and the Hooter-like waitress gave them their menus and glasses of water, before Blitzø cleared his throat to order the drinks.
"Yeah, I'll have some booze so I can wash it down with my water, thanks." he grinned staring at her breasts as he spoke.
"...Okay. Fuck, you're weird." said the waitress.
"Just a red wine for me, dear." Stolas then added.
"Can I have a lemonade, please?" asked Balin politely.
"Absolutely..." the waitress then looked up at him, recognising his face for a second. "Balin Johnson? Heh, long time no see. What you been up to?"
Balin started feeling a little sheepish about the story, until Loona saved it for him.
"He doesn't really like to talk about it, bimbo." she tried to keep her cool. "He's a little sensitive on it."
"Oh. I understand. I saw the news anyway." the waitress then said, handing Balin a lollipop. "On the house, kiddo."
She then walked off to get their requested beverages and brought them back to the table before leaving again to serve more guests.
"Speaking of the news, how's school been treating you, lil' man?" Tex asked his little human friend. "Oh, it's been great Tex. It's been so exciting."
"Exciting, huh?" Loona chuckled teasingly. "To get away from us scary demons?"
"No, of course not. I love you scary demons." Balin replied with a flush, making Loona flush too.
"OK, let's save that for the apartment, okay?" she showed a sheepish toothy smile. "I still have my reputation, you know?"
"Sorry." replied Balin as he continued talking to Tex. "Anyway, all the kids have been wondering what happened to me since I left the first time. But I didn't tell them about Hell, I promise."
"Ah, thank Satan." sighed Blitzø in relief. "Good man."
"Told you we could trust him, sir." Millie nudged him.
"Balin? What do you mean, the first time?" pondered Via.
Stolas then explained it for her. "You see owlet, when Balin's parents were sent away to the safe house, they had to pull Balin out so he could..."
Loona showed Stolas a desperate look on her face as she cleared her throat, begging him not to bring up the foster home thing.
"They just had to pull him out." he soon finished, feeling sorry for the kid.
"Well, what matters is that you're having fun with the other little humans that are glad to see you safe." said Marijiana.
"Yeah, you've literally been 'down under' for the last few weeks and no-one's hurt you. ...Yet." smiled Millie. "That is... did any scary demons up here hurt you?" she began searching the kid's body for any scars or anything.
"No, I'm okay, Aunty Millie." he replied as she did that.
"Good." she then gave him a kiss on the cheek "Mwah!" before sitting back down in between Blitzø and Moxxie.
"By the way, Neptune and Marijiana, how have you two been doing?" the boy then asked his groupies.
"They've been improving, but they've got potential kid." said Blitzø in an impressed tone, grabbing his phone. "Wanna check out a video of their first target?"
He was about to show Balin the video before he sheepishly looked away, making Loona slap it out of his hand.
"Ow! Loonie, no claws!" Blitzø cringed in pain.
"He's traumatised enough, Blitzø!" she quietly glared at him with a point of her claw. "Don't force it."
Balin wondered what the mission was like, but decided to ignore it since it wasn't nice for a seven-year-old to see I.M.P's work.
But I can show you this little flashback.
FLASHBACK...
Dealing with the abusive stepdad murderer in Montana, the imps stabbed his legs multiple times as he sat in his barcalounger until he couldn't move them. Marijiana then swung him to Neptune who then shook him in her mouth like a rag-doll until he passed out screaming.
FLASHBACK ENDS
"Okay... so I'll just have a small meat-lovers pizza." Balin made his choice for dinner with a smile.
"As always." snickered Loona as she ruffled his hair.
"Red wine and mushroom... penny?' Blitzø stuttered looking at the menu.
"Ugh. Penne, sir." corrected Moxxie with a groan.
"Oh, penne! Fan-fucking-tastic!" Blitzø then smiled again.
"Uh-uh-uh, sir." Moxxie interrupted him again. "This restaurant's PG-13."
Blitzø then pointed Moxxie all around the restaurant in a pissed-off mood, showing him there was literally no-one else inside yet, not even a kid.
"Sometimes." Moxxie then finished with a remark.
"Oh, Christ-on-a-stick, such a realist at work AND a fun place?" scoffed the boss. "More fun than you, Moxx."
"At least it's better than being a disgrace at both." Moxxie remarked again.
"...Effing, watch it!" snarled Blitzø.
"Yeah. Insulting him won't make you any less fat." groaned Loona. "Stop bickering and lose weight."
"Or what? You'll fax me another ad, mama human?" teased Moxxie in annoyance. "Just stay out of this."
"You're still on her ass about the whole ad thing?" Blitzø raised his eyebrow at him.
"ENOUGH!" Loona quietly seethed, looking up from her phone. "What was my one rule for when the kid's around?"
"...No fighting." Moxxie sighed.
"But you were in on it too, Loonie." Blitzø interjected like a child.
"What the hell are you talking about?!" Loona remarked frustratedly. "Just stop embarrassing me in front of the kid and grab a salad."
"I'll do it." Blitzø stood up from the table and whistled.
He was about to order everyone's food, when Moxxie stuck out one of his hoof-like legs and made him fall to the floor before he could even leave the table.
"Ugh..." growled Loona.
"I'm sorry that they annoy you, Loona." said Balin sympathetically.
"No, don't be. I should be the sorry one." replied his friend wholeheartedly, before speaking flatly. "Sometimes, it feels like I'm that baby's God-mother."
And speak of the devil, when Blitzø stood on his knees, crunching his back and rubbing his head, he soon heard some cooing noises with his horns. He saw what looked to be a baby boy in a chameleon t-shirt with one teeth in his mouth, bouncing up and down on the legs of Balin's chair.
"Hey bucko, I think you got a little admirer." Blitzø said to Balin, standing up and dusting himself off.
Everyone else looked down at the chair to see the baby look up at their little human friend, who with a widened expression, knew who it was.
"Mitch?" he gasped at the sight of who appeared to be a young relative of his.
"You know this kid?" asked Loona, looking at the baby from right behind his head.
"Yeah." replied Balin. "He's my cousin."
"Awww! Your cousin's so cute!" Millie quietly squealed as she got out of her chair and knelt down in front of him. "Hey bubby, come here." she cooed to the baby, opening her arms and making him look up at her.
The baby boy then got up on his two feet and began waddling towards her, walking exactly like Baby Lily from 'The Loud House', until he made it into Millie's arms.
"Hello there, little cutie. What's your name?" Millie cooed again as she bounced him in her arms.
"Balin just said it was Mitch. Weren't you listening, Mills?" Blitzø rudely answered her drinking a shot of his booze. "But he's a cool dude, I'll give him that."
As everyone else fell in love with the little toddler, Millie then felt him tug his way at Balin with her arms.
"Oh? You wanna sit next to Balin?" she said in her cute voice, making him clap his hands in excitement. "Yes? Yes you do? Oh yeah, here you go." she then placed Mitch on Balin's lap as he gently held him.
"Hello there, Mitch." Balin spoke in his normal kind tone, as Mitch began tapping his face like they were bongos, making him giggle. "Good to see you again too. What are you doing here, huh?"
Mitch made more cooing noises as he pointed to his mom and dad at the counter, aka, his real uncle and aunty.
The uncle had a beard and a face that reminded him of Howard Donald from 'Take That' while the aunty had spiky white hair on her head.
"Oh. You're here for some take-out? That sounds like fun." Balin smiled to him, tilting his head for the baby's amusement. "I'm sorry I can't come. I've got some new friends I'm hanging out with."
Mitch then gave Balin a little hug, placing his hand right over his left shoulder blade.
The two new hellhound girls awed at the affection until they felt a little faint.
As flustered as he was, he closed his eyes and cradled Mitch around slowly for a bit, before he felt like going to the bathroom.
"Hey, uh... can someone keep an eye on Mitch while I'm in the bathroom, please?" he asked, breaking the cuddle.
"I'll take him." Loona said in a deep breath.
"You?" the three imps went in surprise.
"But, what if you, rip his throat...?" Millie slapped Moxxie so hard on the head before he could finish that sentence.
"Hell no, Moxx!" Loona exclaimed at first, but calmed down straight away not wanting to frighten the littler guy. "I'm not gonna do that. I don't always have... instincts." she then assured him flatly.
Slowly but gently, she then grabbed Mitch from Balin's arms and held him right in front of her face.
"I'll be right back guys!" Balin called as he raced to the bathroom. "Tell his parents I said hello if I'm not here!"
It was then just Loona and the baby, who just looked at each other curiously, with confusion and a smile.
"Okay... so, you're a... a baby." she began speaking a little inexpertly. "And uh... how's that been working out for ya, eh?"
Laughing at the mild insult in his baby way, Mitch soon grabbed her nose, making the imps gasp.
"Shit! DUCK!" Blitzø exclaimed, as the three covered their eyes in fear, thinking Loona would definitely go all on the rage on this little human.
But she didn't.
All that the imps heard at that moment was the baby's laughter still filling the room. They soon opened their eyes hearing a little snicker from Loona at his ticklish grip.
"Boy, mini dude. You've, uh, you got quite the grip there, don't ya? Ow. Awww."
"PHEW...!" Moxxie went in his sweet relief.
As Mitch gently let go of her face, he soon snuggled into the warmth of her tank-top like a normal baby. Seeing this sight, Loona decided to just gently bounce him to either get him to laugh more, or to get him off her breasts before he could sleep.
"Oh, you are just a fun little guy, ain't ya?" she chuckled in her normal voice, before cooing and giving him belly and foot tickles with her nails. "Got your beans. Got your beans!"
Thankfully her nails weren't as sharp as her claws.
As Tex laughed a little at the adorable sight and everyone chuckled with him, Loona soon heard a word coming out from the baby's laughter.
"Beautiful." he babbled.
This made Loona feel a little heartbeat and show a small smile, quickly giving him a kiss on the forehead before anyone could notice. But Blitzø and Moxxie did, as the boss took a photo using his tail.
"Aww." Moxxie awed seeing the quick movement, making Loona roll her eyes.
"Horn-Y!" Mitch babbled again looking at Moxxie. "Horn-Y! Horn-Y!"
Moxxie's eyes just widened while everyone else just laughed hearing that, no more louder than Loona.
"Oh my Satan! Is it weird to say I like this kiddo even more now?" she laughed so much, she nearly cried.
"Of course you would." Moxxie then rolled his eyes, growling at the moment in secret.
"Now THAT is one of the best first words ever." Tex then giggled, while the two hounds also burst into laughter.
"Okay, okay, everyone." said Millie. "As cute as this is, we can't really have those as his parents' FIRST words. Allow me to help."
She then grabbed the baby from Loona's hands and held her in her arms once again, before clearing her throat and saying 'Mama!' hoping he'd imprint off of her, but all she got was 'Horn-Y!'. This went on three times before Millie gave in and giggled.
"Mitch? Mate? Where are you?" the uncle called out, before seeing him with the gang. "Oh, there you are."
"Excuse us, folks. Sorry if he disturbed you." said the aunty.
"Nah, it's all chill, dudes." replied Loona.
"Balin! Balin! B-Balin?" Mitch babbled again, looking around to see he wasn't around.
The aunty and uncle laughed at his babbling a little, until a few seconds later, Balin came out of the toilets.
"Hey guys." he said to the gang before noticing his uncle and aunty with them.
"Aunty Corra? Uncle B.J?" he greeted them with his surprised expression.
"B-Balin?" they both stuttered in more shock.
Their cousin soon hugged them slowly by their legs, and smiling with emotions, the two knelt down and hugged him in return with everyone at the restaurant table watching this moment.
"Balin!" Mitch clapped his hands with the smile back on his face.
A/N: See y'all in the next chapter.
