Annalise Grimbal sat on the couch in Tsukune's office, holding her children, and showing a look on her face, that almost made it seem like she had died inside. The three vampires stood off to one side watching. The pain, and grief, seemed to resonate in a way they were not used to.
"Mom, I did my best to take care of Andrew," the girl said, her sunken cheek bones showing how hard the last few months had been for her and her brother.
"Mama," the boy looked up, tears in his eyes.
The woman still didn't move. Her ability to function seemed to have left her body completely. She wasn't even crying, just sitting there with a blank look on her face. It wasn't such a surprise with her learning about the death of her husband and mother. Especially as it was at the hands of the people that had given her what she thought was the chance to be able to provide for them.
"Tsukune, I...," Moka wrapped her arms around her husband, as she observed the painful sight.
"I know. I understand it too. I hope neither of us has to go through the same," Tsukune said, as he wrapped his arm around her.
Issa, simply watched them. He couldn't help but think, that his son in law didn't have any clue. He had never gone through that kind of pain. He never had to have his heart torn into pieces, knowing that he would never see someone that meant so much to your heart, that you had given a part of yourself to.
He walked over to the woman, "It won't get easier."
The woman inclined her head slightly.
Issa knelt down, "It never does. I wish it did, but if does, then you never truly loved them. That pain, isn't something that you should let control you though. Remember who they were, and remember what they mean to you. Don't think of them as the past, for some part of them will always be with you."
For a moment she just sat there, her expression never changing, until she fell against the elder vampire, and began to cry. Moka and Tsukune stiffened up, almost expecting the man to suddenly tear her into pieces for disrespect. Instead, he simply embraced her gently.
The two younger vampires looked at each other in surprise. This wasn't really vampire like behavior, especially given the natural arrogance of the race. If anything, Issa Shuzen, was a paragon of vampire behavior. It was almost unthinkable.
"I, how do I go on. He, has been there since we were infants. Our parents had known each other since they were kids. He...," she broke down into sobs again.
"It's ok. You want revenge," he asked.
"What good would it do," Annalise looked up at the vampire.
"What, good?"
"I may be an Orc, but I am not one of these savages, that only look to rape and pillage. I don't want Celina and Andrew to grow up like that. I don't want revenge, I want to make sure that they can't do this to anyone else," the look on her face went from dead, to fury.
"Mom, please don't. It won't bring Dad, or Grandma back. We can't lose you, we won't have anyone else. We, made peace with it, we had to. Don't throw yourself against this wall," Celina looked up at her mother's face.
"Celina, how can I not do anything," Annalise looked down.
"You can be our mother, not another grave," the girl said.
Issa looked at the woman, then nodded, "She is right. Now, you can do more for your husband, and your mother, by making sure that your children grow up to be better than those beasts. I have been hunting their killers, for a while now. I will make sure, that they do not go peacefully. Tsukune, Moka, a word outside."
The two younger vampires nodded. They followed him outside, and didn't stop him as Issa gave Galdia a dismissive wave. Galdia was someone who didn't have to fear death, but she realized that not following his instruction, would not necessarily be that great for her physical condition.
"Gifu, I, am surprised," Tsukune started.
"Do you not need an effective Head of Security here? I believe she has previous experience," the man cut his son in law off.
"Uh, it may not hurt, but...," Tsukune started unsteadily.
"Father, please. What were you doing in there," Moka suddenly intoned.
Tsukune considered trying to insert himself back into the conversation, but decided against it. While he might have been the most powerful being alive at one point, he was actually used to being cut out of conversations by his wife.
"I woke up to something, after talking with Tekeshi," was all her father said.
"What could he have said, that would make you change," she asked.
"He refused to fight me, when I challenged him directly. He said he didn't have time for it, because he had something that gave him more purpose than being a vampire ever did. I remembered your mother, and Gyokoru. For such a young man, he has more wisdom than any who have lived beyond even I. I also have considered what my absences did to you and your sisters. I missed so much, and forced all of you too as well. Those children have lost one parent, they don't deserve to lose another," his words were, oddly heartfelt, which was unexpected from the elder vampire.
"Father, I, I'm sorry. It, was just unexpected. I never thought that you would," Moka began, but stopped when her father took her in a firm hug.
"Moka, you raised a very fine child, and I expect that you will do the same with your second child. Hopefully, you will not be forced into the same position you were."
"If anyone is to be given credit for how Tekeshi turned out, it is Yukari and Fang-fang. I hated giving him up to them, but they did so well. I wish I could have been there for more of it," the woman melted into the embrace.
"Gifu, I will find someway for her to feel useful. I will also ask Mizore if she can help teach the boy, and the girl can be enrolled here. Even after all of this, Fairy Tale can do nothing but cause pain. I hope that Tekeshi can end their existence, and keep it from ever coming back," Tsukune finally found a chance to speak up again.
"Thank you. I will return to trailing the kill team. I will not be gentle as soon as I find them."
"I'm back bitches," the voice attracted attention as it walked into the music room that had been claimed by the Mongrels.
Everyone looked up. There in the doorway stood a tall black form that had an expression that made it seem stoned.
An absolutely massive blonde boy stood up, "Akoni, what the utter hell? Why would you even enter a room like that? Even being gone for a month, you shouldn't have forgotten your manners."
"Uh, I... I have no clue. I, never think before I do things," the black boy said.
"So, who is this, and why is he talking like a hood rat," a reddish skinned girl that Akoni didn't recognize asked.
Akoni, despite appearances, was a genius. That didn't mean that he was particularly smart, just intelligent. However even he could recognize that the girl was Native American. Which meant that the next act he did was wrong on so many levels.
"Heya-waka, heya-waka, heya-waka," he started, which just gained stares from all over.
Heavy, the blonde giant, just deadpanned, "Akoni, really?"
The girl looked at him like he had two heads, "Dude, really? I'm Mescalero, not Dakota. I'm not even from the same tribe. Plus, it is aiya-watha. Where the hell are you even from?"
Two red headed girls looked at each other, as one spoke, "Och na, please tell me she didnae juist ask that."
"Uh, well, my mama. My mama was in Nigeria, and I guess my old man was. She was pregnant then, and stopped being before she left. So, I'm from Africa," he said.
Around that time Utsuki and Harumi had been walking to the room. There had been an issue with a peeper looking in the girl's locker room window. Harumi, had found him, and was preceding to attempt to pull his head off topless, which was probably heaven for the guy, when Utsuki finally arrived to deal with the situation.
"Little asshole. I ever get my hands on him again. Why did you have to stop me, Dyke? I could have made sure that the issue never came up again," the young succubus grumbled.
Utsuki rolled her eyes, "Because murdering other students isn't permitted, or really productive. Plus, if I can catch them, you can blast them out in the paper. Why is it I am the vampire, and you are three times more violent than I am?"
"My dad was a U.S. Marine. I come by it honest. Plus, I hate perverts," she said, making Utsuki stop in her tracks.
"Who was giving him a full body tit-job when I got there? You really don't have anyway to talk about perverts, miss sex demon," the vampiress replied.
Harumi opened her mouth to say something, then promptly shut it when she realized that her friend was right. She was indeed a sex demon, and the boy's head was completely between her boobs.
A loud scream of utter pain shattered the quiet of the hallways. The two girls looked in the direction it came from as they recognized the voice that made it. Harumi immediately held her hands up.
"Don't blame me on this one. I have been right next to you for the last thirty minutes, nor did I know the dickhead was back," Harumi said as they began hurrying to the music room.
When they arrived, the scene was both horrifying, and confusing. Akoni was rolling around on the floor, blood flowing from one of his eyes, as his fingers surrounded a drinking straw. A drinking straw. Nalin, was seated over to one side, looking very satisfied with herself.
"Hey, I just heard a massive scream from... Hey, Sis, please tell me you haven't started drinking from the source. At least not from such a low quality one," Karasu had walked in behind the other two.
"Haha Kari. So, I know we all want to at times, especially Harumi, but who stabbed him in the eye," Utsuki knelt down to him to see how bad it was.
"T twas th' Apache this time. She juist, we dinnae ken whaur th' straw cam fae," one of the red haired girls offered.
"Thank you Dehlia. Nalin, please don't. I have to heal him enough from Harumi beating him half to death more than I like. I don't need the extra work," she said as she gave the straw an exploratory tug.
"Hey, his fault. He wanted to be stupid. I don't deal with stupid that well. You can't imagine how much self control I had to use when I was working at the diner," the Apache said, not even looking over, "Wait, what do you mean you have to heal him? I thought vampires were more into the harm game, than the healing game?"
"She doesn't know, she doesn't know," Chun-hee was sitting on a desk swinging her legs as she sang.
A dark haired girl, the youngest of all of them rolled her eyes, "Chunie, shut it. Otherwise, you get to wake up with itching powder in your underwear. Try me, and I make sure that it goes in a specific line up the front. I would say I would say that I also would put it in your bra, but we all know you don't have any reason to wear one. Black, please control your sister."
A Korean boy had been sitting off to one side, "Machiko, I would rather not wake up with my throat cut. So if you want her controlled, do it yourself."
Machiko looked over at him, then back to the girl with a lewd smile on her face, "Uh, bro, please save me," the Korean girl ran over to hide behind her brother.
Utsuki gave a small smile at the typical chaos as she pulled on the straw, and Akoni's screams immediately stopped and he sat up. Sadly, he was very prone to being assaulted, primarily by Harumi of his own actions, and not uncommonly by other female members of the student body. He really didn't know when to keep his mouth shut.
"Damn, Chick, you have one hell, of a hello. Why can't I see out of my left eye," Akoni started panicking.
"Hey Dickhed, open your eye, and it may help," Harumi told him.
Akoni followed the instruction, and calmed down when he saw that he wasn't permanently blind in that eye, "Oh. That does help. Thanks Pillows."
The room just watched with the same fascination as a car accident, as Harumi unleashed her utter wrath against him.
Nalin looked over at Utuski, "How did you fix his eye?"
"In addition to being a vampire, a very powerful one, I am what is called a Witch of... right Madonna said I was a Witch of Love, as she called it. That sounds so corny, I don't like it. Anyway, I was that before I became a vampire. I became much more powerful, after I was turned," Utsuki really didn't have a reason to hide anything.
"Uh, cool. Can I become one, that sounds way better than being a skinwalker, that can't skinwalk. Uh, does it hurt," the girl asked.
"Trust me, the last thing you want to go through, is becoming one of them. Ask Madonna more. She is the first of all witches, and her stories aren't all fun to listen to. I still have nightmares from some of them," Utsuki replied.
"Yeah, she isn't kidding. Uh, well, I'm still not used to dreaming yet, so, yeah. What bleeds over from her, isn't pretty," Karasu commented as she had pulled a bag of candy from somewhere, and was enjoying watching Akoni get beaten.
"So, I know I stabbed him in the eye, but, does he get this kind of abuse often," Nalin turned her eyes back to the event.
Utsuki shrugged, "Define often. I quit keeping count of how many times I have had to keep him from dyeing months ago. He has a bad habit of opening his mouth, and broadcasting please kill me. I tend to make sure that doesn't happen. For some reason that I don't understand, Tekeshi actually likes him. So, Harumi, no headshots, he has enough brain damage."
"Blow it Dyke. He brought it on himself. Insult my tits, bastard. Either you learn, or you die."
