Chapter 5: "The Prideful Warrior who can Overcome Any Past"

Back at The Broken Bridge,
The shadow sniper used their eight scope and tried to aim the female Aries warrior, Friendsheep's head. Before they hit her, an arrow suddenly appears and blocks the radar, losing their balance and missing their direct shot, thus ending up hitting the wrong floor.
The Shadow sniper saw the next arrow attack as they tended to move back and avoid that shot. They turned to the direction where the arrow shot and saw the mastermind behind it.
There was a man with a scar face on the rooftop, holding a bow and arrows. He was a sniper, a weapon professionalism, a brave warrior.
"War Criminal of Sagittarius, Takes Aim and Kills, Unsun Sajari!" He called himself.
As he finally got his eyes on the mysterious sniper, he proceeded to deal with the next shot while his opponent dodged it again. On the far side of the same battle, the Veteran warrior grinned as he raised his fist and pointed to the direction where the sniper and archer's battle commenced.
"Damn it! Don't keep us waiting you Latecomers! Just hurry up and get it over with!" Dandylion muttered.
The War criminal archer and the mysterious sniper commenced their range fight in far away side. They had their unlimited arrows and bullets to shoot and avoid among themselves. With their good eyesight and silent shots, their rooftop battle wouldn't interrupted in public areas.
On the Broken bridge, the War Criminal, Aries, couldn't help but wanted to know what's stopping the sniper. She noticed her fellow Warrior holding his phone until she realized something. "So you're using Backup plans?!"
Dandylion nods back as his eyes are on the phone. Aries sighed back, knowing they still had a chance to live. "Very impressive, as expected of our Leader."
"You damn right, lass! They got the message, it seems we're okay." Dandylion smirked back. During the chase, Dandylion kept looking where the sniper goes and he used his phone and messages them about their location. He admit that his team would be late but they managed to help them on time in the end. Once this is over, he wants to lecture them back.

On the Far Away Side of the Broken Bridge,

The War Criminal Aries, Friendsheep agrees as she follows after Dandylion. However, a huge rubble suddenly fall them back Dandylion noticed the silhouette of a tall man coming closer.
"Show yourself! I know you're out there, come out and face us like a Man!" The Veteran Warrior shouted. By the look of it, he felt it was strange to have one enemy to come after them. "A guy? No wait.. it looks like a Shadow guy but-"
"He's definitely a Warrior with killing intents." Friendsheep glares at the Shadow warrior for getting in their way. They managed to stop the sniper and now they have to fight against a strong looking warrior with big muscle. The Shadow warrior with horns turns in his fighting position.
"Ox Warrior of the Eight Zodiac War, Kill breakingly, _ " The Shadow warrior calls himself and the two War Criminals decided to do the same thing as a way to honor and greet warriors before the battle.
"War Criminal of the Leo, Dandylion"
"War Criminal of the Aries, Friendsheep"
When calling this enemy as Ox warrior, no wonder they have this horns on their headpiece. His black hidden mask can't predict his expression but telling by how silent this guy is, they knew this warrior is not easy to negotiate them and their bloodlust tells them he's out to hunt them. Besides, the War Criminals have the sleepy Rat Warrior as their hostage, there's no way they're here to negotiate unless their leader is here.
Dandylion drops the Unconscious Driver near Friendsheep and stood up to face against the Shadow Ox Warrior, "Don't worry, I got this. Stand back and let me take him."
Friendsheep respects his wishes and allows him to fight. The War Criminal Leo clenched his fist and taunt the Shadow warrior to fight with bare hands. The enemy fell for it and flexed his muscles before going up against the big man.

Back to Sagittarius Warrior Side,
Meanwhile, the War Criminal Sagittarius is determined to take the sniper down as he keeps shooting arrows in far range. He was impressed how the Sniper managed to aim and shoot quickly before dodging in one second. Most snipers he faced before wouldn't do that unless they have a special ability that can see far distance.
Speaking of that, Unsun Sashitari recalls that time when Sir Cancer tells his story about his Eight Zodiac war and those eleven warriors he previously fought with. Sir Cancer mentioned about a sniper warrior who can find warriors at long range that even the War criminal Sagittarius is no match for them. A warrior with their ability, "Bird's Eyeview", who can use their eyes of the hawk. Sir Cancer admits that this sniper warrior almost got his leg but was lucky enough to hide with his small body. The only thing he stops them was using a bait.
Thinking about that warrior, Unsun Sashitari knew a dead person won't revived and he thought there's no way to outmatch them. However, his opponents movement and his long range attacks somehow makes him believe he's connected to them. Not only that but the Sniper suddenly stops, making the War criminal confused.
When their long range battle paused, he can see who the sniper's appearance was. The mysterious shadow man with a feather headpiece on their head. They started to call their names but with their long distance, both of them couldn't hear each other.
However, the archer can tell what they're saying by looking at their lip syncing, he started to follow and understand their calls.
"Chicken Warrior of the Eight zodiac War, Snipe and Kill, _" the War Criminal couldn't believe he's facing the former warrior that Sir Cancer fought before. As a way to honor their enemies, he also calls again, hoping the sniper warrior can understand their lip syncing movements.
When their formal introductions are done, they settle their final battle with their weapons, ready to shoot. It's by Archer vs Sniper, a battle between warriors in long range. Unsun Sashitari couldn't tell if they're serious but he believes that shadow sniper can stand a chance. As what Sir Cancer said it before, he needs a Bait, something that will show his counterattack.

Back to Aries and Leo Warrior Side,
Dandylion and that muscular warrior continued their battle as they fought barehanded. He couldn't believe their strength are equally the same. Dandylion heard from Sir Cancer that there used to be a muscular warrior like him who can match his strength and prideful arrogant personality. A muscular warrior that he fought during his eight Zodiac war tournament. The warrior who almost won but got lost because of his pride.
Dandylion learned the enemy calls himself as the Ox Warrior of the eight, meaning he used to be a warrior from the eight tournament. He didn't expect they would fought against the shadow version of the past warriors from the eight Zodiac war. If Sir Cancer were here, he would not be happy to see them, especially how they looked like now.

Back to Sir Cancer Side,
The eight champion, Sir Cancer expect this meeting would be a trap but what he didn't believe is how the Eleventh champion was upset about the sudden ambush.
"Damn those brats! I shouldn't get into this trouble again." Eleventh clenched his fist and cursed himself. Sir Cancer om the other hand, felt it was a miracle to avoid that trap and getting split up to avoid it.
Somehow, the Lonely Garden becomes a mess and that shadow wolf was nowhere to be seen. He also wonders who started this, implying that they wanted to cut off their deal and eliminate both champions. He realized that both of them are being targeted right now. That makes it clear that the eleventh champion is not the suspect behind their mess.
When the explosion fog lifts away, Sir Cancer and the Eleventh come across Eight figures with shadowy forms. Unlike the wolf, all eight individual shadows have familiar faces and fellow acquaintance of Sir Cancer. There's no mistaken it.. they are-
The Former warriors of the Eight Zodiac War.
"No way… you guys are-" When Sir Cancer finally meet the past warriors that he used to fight them Sixty one years ago, he was speechless and his emotional expression couldn't help but feel something of a mixed confusion.
On the other hand, Eleventh ignores his reaction as he glanced at the Shadow warrior with a Boar insignia on their clothes. He knew those guys are nothing but fabrications of the past and he got used to them. But what troubles to him is the fact this Boar Warrior of the Eight is one of his relatives that he didn't wish to see again.
"We finally met, Grandpa. I hope you won't regret being killed by your relative."
The first warrior with a tiger claw on their hands strikes first and the War Criminal noticed their movements, dodging them immediately. The Tiger Shadow warrior tries to kick him but Sir Cancer used his arms to defend his head, causing to push him backwards.
Sir Cancer felt their attacks are real as he tend to avoid them more. He used to negotiate them and win the tournament in the past but now that they're in their shadow forms, he knew the same technique won't happen again. Suddenly, the remaining six warriors follows the tiger warrior and charge at Sir Cancer. They tried to find his openings and finish them in one go.
The Eleventh was fighting against the Boar warrior while observing the eight champion. He knew this former War Criminal won't stand a chance after seeing his fellow eight zodiac warriors. Believing this champion is not worthy to be strong, the Eleventh thought of killing him once he's done with the shadow warriors because he doesn't like weak champions to respect.
Soon after, Eleventh didn't expect that Sir Cancer used his fist to break the Tiger's claws and punched the Tiger warrior's stomach, creating a hole in the process. The eight champion also used his superhuman strength to beat the other warriors and knocked them down in two strikes.
Just who and what is he? A superhuman and experienced old man with a former War criminal status, huh? Eleventh was surprised this eight champion can still fight and outsmart each warrior's movements. For an old man, Sir Cancer must've got his eight zodiac war battle as part of his memory.
As Sir Cancer finished the next warrior by the neck, he witnessed the Eleventh champion has taken the Shadow Boar warrior down by striking their head and damaging their vital organ. It's clear this guy is very strong and he shows no mercy. Best of all, he's not the mastermind behind the summoning of the Eight warriors from the Eight Zodiac War.
Whoever it is, Sir Cancer makes sure to find that person and show them not to mess with them.

Back to Aries and Leo Warrior Side,
The big guys kept fighting with fist. The war criminal Dandylion, is running out of stamina while the Shadow warrior has the upper advantage. Just how much strength this guy does he have? Is he even a normal guy? Dandylion was getting out of hand and frustrated that he's going to lose. Behind the enemy, he noticed a white haired girl raising her hand, eyes on them as he received a signal and gave her a nod.
"Now Friendsheep!" Dandylion shouted as he grabbed the Shadow Warrior's fist and holding them.
"Sleep!" The War Criminal Aries, jumped on the battle and used her Hypnosis ability to sleep them. Just in time, Dandylion released his enemy and covered his ears, which end up not affecting to her attacks.
When the Shadow enemy's head begun spinning, they noticed the old bearded man was still standing, not affecting by that mysterious ability. However, Dandylion stood a chance and charge up his energy, clenching his fist and ready to fight back.
"Take that!" Dandylion used his full energy and strike the Shadow Ox Warrior's gut, making the warrior fall down.
"Just one strike will take him down." Dandylion thought. But it's not enough, to use his full strength, he needs to distract his enemy and thanks to her, his plan worked out. The teamwork is quite a good success. "Good job for the last part. I knew you would get my signal on time." Dandylion praised Friendsheep, who looked away from him with a sigh.
"No need. It was pretty obvious you were planning to use a trick from the very start." She folded her arms and turned her eyes back to the fallen shadow enemy. "Still, as a War Criminal, you really put up a fight against him like a warrior would do. Without me, you two wouldn't stop punching each other until your strength runs out."
"Hmph, thanks for the compliments but nevermind about that" Dandylion followed her gaze and went to the enemy. He tried to kick them, hoping to wake up. "Hey! You're still alive, I know my punches were not enough to knock you down"
The Shadow warrior who claims himself to be the Ox Warrior of the Eight War, blinked once but opened his eyes back. Their body slowly becomes disintegrate to a black shadowy wind blowing little by little.
They realized his shadow was going to disappear but the warrior sat up and getting weak.
"Magnificent Teamwork…" The Shadow Warrior touched his stomach and control himself, "*cough*... Yeah, This is truly… an amazing punch.. I.. ever witness…"
Their voice is growing weaker like an old man ready to say his last words. Even Dandylion pitied the enemy but decided to hear him out.
"...Thank you… strong warriors…" Dandylion nod back with a proud smirk when he hears warriors respecting their enemies.
"Let's make it short, before you're gone, can you answer our questions, Shadow person?" Friendsheep said directly with an cold tone.
"Such a cold-hearted lady.." Dandylion broke his sweat to hear such a response from an expressionless elegant lady.

Back to Sagittarius Warrior Side,
Two warriors continued their never ending log range attacks at high building. They moved from one roof to another while fighting. Unsun Sajari made sure he wouldn't trip as he keep his eyes both the platform he was standing and their enemies.
As he reached to another roof and shoot more, Unsun Sajari stumbled upon a small box on his feet. The box had a parachute behind and a scribbled note with morse code. What his eyes bothered is inside the open box, he carefully holds it while dodging the sniper's bullets.
"A Stungun? Who could possibly be sending me this?" The Archer wondered before getting his hands on the item. He couldn't think more when a sniper shot almost got his head.
He used this chance and try to end the sniper warrior once and for all. He aims the sniper warrior again but this time, he shoots the Water tank, attempting to stick the arrow until a triggered noise alarmed behind the enemy.
The Sniper shadow heard that noise and attempted to run away but, the water tank got exploded and released the water in their face. When the Shadow warrior covered by the water, Unsun Sajari saw this is his sign. He aimed his enemy with an arrow being tapped by an automated Stun gun.
"Take this!" He goes for the ground water at high speed, hitting with electric stun gun attacks and watching the Shadow warrior getting electrified.
Seeing the Sniper falling down from electric attacks seems working well. Unsun Sajari let out a sigh that he completed his mission. But he wonders if its coincidence to left this stun gun Bait to him or maybe, someone left it by accident.

Back to Sir Cancer Side,
Surrounded by eight shadow warriors was not good, the champion knew fighting them forever would lose their strength. So they separate and fought different enemies. Sir Cancer looked at the Eleventh champion while fighting.
"Listen Eleventh Champion, if you want to end this fight, try to release the shadow from the hole. Then, I'll distract them."
"I understand." He nodded as he pushed the Shadow Boar enemy back.
As he stood back, the Eleventh observed his surroundings, wondering what the shadow he meant before. Suddenly, the Shadow Tiger Warrior swings his sword to aim at his back. Sir Cancer kicked the Tiger Warrior and avoid that attack, saving the Eleventh's back.
The two have no time for gratitude as they focused on more enemies coming after them. The Eleventh kept thinking the ways to end the fight and wondering why the surrounding is covered by fogs. He looked at the side and saw a mysterious entity hiding beneath the fog. With his sharp eyes, he managed to find the Shadow that Sir Cancer was talking about.
However, that mysterious shadow was so fast at hiding, Eleventh couldn't catch it on close. Then, Sir Cancer gave a hint to Eleventh about the enemies attacks as one of them charge him. Eleventh understands his signal as he attacks the Shadow Tiger Warrior who throws the sword at him. The Eleventh dodged his swords, which ends up hitting the mysterious shadow on the way.
When that shadow got hit, the surrounding fogs got vanished and the remaining seven shadowy warriors got confused. The two champions finally saw who made that illusion, the mysterious shadow was struggling with that sword but their eyes are still on their opponents. When they lay down, the mysterious shadow warrior made a final call to them,
"Rat Warrior of the Eight Zodiac War, Hallucinate and Kill, _ "
The other Shadowy warriors were about to call their names until Sir Cancer immediately finished them off with his superstrength speed. He punched them without hesitation and mercy. He didn't let them finish their call until all of his enemies are down. Eleventh watched the champion fighting against the remaining warriors. No, this is no longer a fight, it's exterminating them. he felt the battle is already over in ten seconds when Sir Cancer brought them in his own hands. He doesn't mind his actions taken but the Eleventh wonders if he considers to be ally or foe.
"Good job for crushing them. Didn't think I'd stumbled upon those fallen warriors in the past."
"We don't discuss that now." Sir Cancer said in a cold tone. He didn't turn to him as he faced at the ruined Lonely Garden.
The two champion warriors looked at those Shadowy warriors getting disintegrate. They were planning to leave the Lonely Garden and walked around the mountains until they were cornered by an electronic tower machine and got surrounded. Seeing the machine charged up made them decide to split up and run away but it was too late, once they are cornered, there was nowhere left to run.
"Just How many enemies we faced now?!" Eleventh thought grudgingly, suppressing the electric shock.
Sir Cancer, on the other hand, was trying to stay conscious as he embraced the electric impact attack. He turns his eyes to the machine and wants to break them. However, there was someone near that machine and he couldn't see them because of his struggles against those electric waves hurting him. When that electric volt was paused, the champions took their time to breathe, trying to stand up and charge at the machine but, they heard a ticking noise.
They saw a bomb nearby with a twenty second countdown. Sir Cancer finally realized the mysterious person near the machine, was actually the one who set the bomb, the electric machine and those fallen shadowy warriors they faced. He learned that persona was clearly a mastermind who wanted to eliminate Champions from Zodiac war.
The Eleventh grabbed Sir Cancer's shoulders and try to escape from the bomb, they heard a loud noise from the sky, which was about to head towards them. What now? They were in a middle of having no break and this mastermind has to give them more hard times. However, Eleventh wasn't expecting to see a familiar face from the sky as they saw a Helicopter with three people.
One of them was a woman who fell down and landed next to the champions. They were going to warn her about the bomb coming and going there as a fool but once they saw in her hands, they immediately understand what she's doing. The woman with a military uniform grabbed her metallic shield and circled around them. The flying helicopter chop flew up high to not getting blown by the next hit.
The woman adjusted her shield and managed to secure the champions at the time when the bomb has few seconds left. Once the ticking stops, the bomb finally exploded, destroying the Lonely Garden and the Nearby Electric Machine in the whole process.
After ten minutes, the Woman deactivates her shield and along with the champions, they survived against the bomb. The helicopter flew down and reached to them, showing they survived.
"Whisper, you came." Eleventh turned his eyes on that woman, who puts her shield back. Sir Cancer believes they know each other as well as those two people who reunite them.
"Not just us, Listener and Waver rush out to help you. You should've seen their face, they were worried about you." The woman named Whisper said, she gave him a gentle smile back as she watched Eleventh turned away.
"Not my problem, I don't need your help."
"Eleventh! You okay?!" A cheerful voice from a young boy approached them as he finds his companion survived and doing well. "I'm glad you're fine!"
The young boy was about to give Eleventh a warm hug but the cold-hearted champion pushed him away, not wanting to show affection. Another woman came to them and glad they were okay. "Thank goodness we made it on time."
"But aside from that, we should discuss from here on out" The young boy said, turning his eyes on Sir Cancer.
"So you must be Waver? I heard from my companion you've treated that young Champion well." Sir Cancer greets the young man who nods in response. He turned to his team and bows them as a gentleman. "My my, it seems we have so much to discuss now."
"Eight Champion of the Zodiac War, it's finally nice to meet you, I heard your tales in the past." The woman he thought her name was Listener, introduced him. "It's nice we could discuss somewhere else but, can we negotiate?"
"It would be my honour to accept your invitation, young lady" Sir Cancer replied.

Back to Aries and Leo Warrior Side,
The Shadow Ox Warrior was going to disintegrate and the War Criminal Aries wanted answers, trying to ask more questions. Suddenly, the shadow warrior got his hands forced unto grabbing something from his pocket. The War Criminal saw their struggling expression as if they don't have the will to control their body. It's like the Shadow warrior got manipulate or something, watching they took an unknown drug in their mouth.
"Run"
At that moment, the Shadow Warrior twitched his eyes as their body suddenly flashes brighter like a lantern inside their body. Dandylion finally realized the enemy was planning to explode but, they have no time to run. Friendsheep tried to sleep him but it was no use, their mind is out of control. Dandylion orders his companion to grab those sleeping people and leave this place.
At that moment, someone throws a syringe at the Shadow Warrior's head, forcing them to stop the explosion from their body and lay unconscious. Dandylion saw another serum hits their arm. He thought that person throwing was one of his companions but he was wrong, it was a mysterious man wearing a black cap and hood.
"Excuse me, may I wonder if you two are the Warriors who survived from that Island?"
"Who are you?!"
"Oh, not a thank you, just great.. It took some time to leave that stun gun package to that archer and made it on time." The mysterious guy remained compose as he marched forward, approaching to the fallen Shadow warrior. He has a syringe on hand and smiled back, "Well, guess I have to finish this for them."
"What are you up to?" Friendsheep asked
"Relax Lady, I'm not going to hurt them. In fact, I respect them." The man returned his syringe and picked a small danger from his pocket. He pierced into the shadow's neck and put his eyes down, watching him disentegrate once more. "Now you may rest in peace, my ancestor."
As the Shadow warrior disappear by the wind, the War Criminals wondered if he's an ally or foe. They were cautious of his behavior as he placed his dagger in his hood and turned to them. The War Criminals stayed cautious as the mysterious man approached them.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, fellow Warriors. Think me as a friend or enemy but in return, let's make a deal, shall we?"

Back to Sir Cancer Side,
Aside from saving from that explosion, the War Criminal Cancer knew he shouldn't trust those people so easily. Right now, he was sitting along with those untrusted warriors in a round table at private cafeteria. The Eleventh champion explained those shadowy warriors they faced against and how it turned out. Sir Cancer simply cooperate as a spare time before having a full discussion.
"You fought against those shadowy fallen Warriors in the past and nine of them?! How impressive you beat them!" The Young man Waver sparkled his eyes to hear those battle. "As expected of the Champions from the Zodiac War!"
"A Tiger Warrior with a Boomerang word, a Rat Warrior who creates Illusion Disastrous fog, a Boar Warrior with Martial Arts skills, and wait-" The young woman Listener recalled those shadow warriors and continued, "Rounder told me those three friends of yours fought two warriors who happened to be the Ox Warrior with muscles using powerful drugs and a Chicken Warrior with Zoom Eye Ability"
Sir Cancer clenched his fist when hearing those warrior's identities. He doesn't want to admit but he knew they were the warrior candidates he fought back in his eight Zodiac war. To think he fight them once again but with shadowy forms. Whoever controls their soul must be punished the next time he sees them again.
"Your friends are safely in hands, Sir Cancer. Don't worry about them, Rounder can assure he will protect them from that Mastermind."
"About that Mastermind, tell me young lady. What brings you the trouble to invite me here?" Sir Cancer asked politely.
"Please, you can call me Listener but worry not Sir Cancer, we're not your enemies. The reason I invite you here is to discuss some urgent situation that's causing your group in trouble." Listener explained as she took a deep breathe before getting a formal topic,
"The Mastermind is making their move and they're hunting your War Criminal group!"
