Twin Rangers: Part Two
While the parents collected Maya's missing purse and turned it over to the police station while they were working on finding the young girl. Max and DJ, once they both made it home, teleported to the dojo, using a kneeling stance in order to open up portals that would lead them to the dojo.
Once they both went through their separate portals and into the dojo, they both found Ellie sitting at her computer.
"Ellie!" Max called out as he and DJ approached her. Ellie glanced over at them and sighed in disappointment. "What's wrong?" Max asked with concern.
"Yeah, aren't you and your father aware of Maya's sudden disappearance? The police are looking all over town for her." DJ explained.
Ellie turned back to her monitor and spoke. "Yes, and I have some horrible news and I need you guys to brace for what I am about to say." She took a deep breath before explaining to them the matter of their situation. "Ever since you guys obtained your Gems, it has become linked to your overall health and life. If it were to be damaged, you would be harmed. Another thing is that I managed to use a system on my computer to track down the location on each of the Gems, as long as they are within the Earth's surface or below."
"That's it! Just use that system to figure out Maya's location," Max spoke with an excited look in his eyes.
Ellie shook her head. "I can't because that's the bad news. I have lost connection to Maya's Gem, meaning it is no longer on our world."
DJ's eyes widened. He dug his fingers through his hair as he began rambling out any idea that despite being so random, he hoped it may work to find his friend. "Well, may we can create a better GPS system that tracks everyone down so that we can find Maya?"
Ellie rolled her eyes. "That is not possible, DJ. But I have been able to track down the last location her Gem had been before I lost the connection." She began typing a few keys before finally, something came up. "There! It seems as if Maya had just left the theatre and was probably on her way home. She walked down this trail but her Gem became offline halfway through the narrow road." She pointed at the area where the yellow dot was marked. DJ and Max both gasped in realization.
"That's where we found her purse!" DJ exclaimed. "It was just laying flat on the ground like a piece of trash. All of her stuff was inside."
A voice then spoke up from behind the three. "Is that so?" The boys turned and saw their sensei looking genuinely worried after having overheard Ellie's entire explanation.
"Sensei, what can you make of this?" Max asked desperately.
Uni scratched his chin before giving both boys a sad frown. "I cannot say, but what I can say is that there is no doubt in my mind that Po is behind this, and of course, Maya is in grave danger."
Max and DJ's gazes fell as they were both filled with three different emotions: fear, sadness, and of course, guilt. The third was the most significant after the very last conversation they had with Maya, and they both realized that the conversation happened just a minute before Maya had gone missing.
Just then, the Disturbance Alarm went off. Max groaned. "Man, not now..."
DJ's eyes widened. "Do you think that this Humanitor disturbance has anything to do with Maya being missing?" He asked with hope.
Max's eyes widened. "Screw this." He and DJ stood side by side as they held out their hands. Their Gems appeared before them.
"CALL INTO COMBAT!" After the morphing sequence, they teleported to the empty parking lot of the mall that had closed down a long while ago.
Maya had just been released from her tiny cell, but she was still under the captivity of Po himself. The stone brute Maya bound onto a chair, with a needle pinned into her left shoulder. Maya struggled and did every she could to get free, but obviously, Po, being as powerful as he is, managed to use a technique that made it 99.9 percent impossible for someone to break free.
Maya looked up and ground her teeth as Po paced around her. He looked deep into her angry, brown eyes as he chuckled. "You look great. Not going to lie. I bet your power will go great with my own."
"What's the use of taking my powers away?" Maya asked. "What are you going to do with them, anyway? It's not like you need them!"
Po snickered. "Isn't it obvious? With you being powerful, there will be less of a barrier that will stop me from taking your world. I believe that removing one of you insufferable rangers would cause the other two to crumble without one of their own."
"You do now know my friends as I do!" Maya spat out. "They were obviously not born yesterday, and they will find a way to find me. Just wait!"
Po cackled. "Alright, little girl, but until then," he turned to where his sister was standing, "Sky, activate the Power Drainer."
"Yes, brother," Sky obeyed as she walked over to the ginormous, computer-like machine that resembled the shape of a packaging box. Maya's eyes then widened as she realized the needle that was implanted in her arm was connected to a long tube, where the otherwise was connected somewhere in the back of the machine.
Once Sky flipped the switch, Maya screamed as she felt something being sucked out of her body. She noticed the need with ejecting a very strange yellow substance. It didn't take long for Maya to realize that this was raw energy that came from her POWERS! She began to feel her insides ache with agonizing pain. It was so painful she thought she would faint.
"STOP IT! PLEASE!" Maya begged, screamed forming in her eyes and down her cheeks. She felt as if her life was being sucked out of her body.
Thankfully, it didn't take long for the pain to wear off, but the machine kept ejecting the energy from her body, and Maya started to become weaker at every minute that goes by.
"Po, it will take a few hours before her every ounce of her energy is diminished. I sent out a monster to deal with those other Rangers in case they realize where she is."
Po looked over at Sky and smirked. "Good, sister. We might as well take those two rangers out. I already have the raw energy I need."
Maya's vision began to become blurry. She tried her best to stay conscious, but the machine was still doing its work. Soon enough, she leaned her head bed and passed out, quietly mumbling.
"Max, DJ...I'm so sorry..."
Max and DJ made it to the abandoned parking completely morphed, where they found numerous Karadracs and a Humanitor waiting for them. Max and DJ had their blades ready as Max called out from a distance.
"Hey, who are you?!" He called out to the Humanitor, who was a creature with pale white skin, and his face resembled that of a mummy with light yellow eyes, and his thin legs were wrapped in cloth as well. His arms were thick and his hands were huge with claws sticking out of them. The one feature that was quite the highlight of this monster was his rather large back, which resembled that of an armadillo's shells wrapped in cloth as well.
The monster cackled before calling out in a deep, British accent. "Rangers, I hope you don't mind. We were just hanging out, and we were wondering if you would like to join us. We already got your yellow friend. You might as well join her, huh?"
At the mention of their friend, both boys became fueled with anger and frustration. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MAYA?!" DJ shrieked.
The monster, known by his master as Mummidillo, laughed. "Beats me. My faithful master Po is taking good care of that brat so don't you worry. Meanwhile, I might as well have some fun. Karadracs, attack!"
More than a dozen foot soldiers charged at the two rangers. Max and DJ each took care of their fair share of targets. One by one, each Karadrac was struck by either DJ and Max until they were all on the ground, wheezing in pain from the sharp blades' impact, before they suddenly disappeared into thin air, with cemented each of their deaths.
Mummidollo backed up until he was just outside the huge supermarket as both DJ and Max charged at him. They both jumped into the air, reeling their blades up high, ready to give their first blow at the monster, when Mummidillo suddenly turned and tilted forward. The two boys ended up hitting his hard shell, which proved to be easily breakable.
Max and DJ backed up and examined their swords, looking confused. "What happened?" DJ asked.
Max shook his head. "I don't know. Did that even affect him?"
"I guess not!" Mummidillo yelled as he turned back forward and launched himself towards the boys, giving each of them a quick slash with his claws.
The Red and Blue rangers fell onto their backs, groaning from Mummidillo's quick attack. They both collected themselves as the former jumped over the monster to strike his back repeatedly but to no avail of actually harming the monster.
"Oh yeah, that feels great!" Mummidillo said sarcastically before turning and grabbing the Blue Ranger by his helmet. "But this won't!" He said as he threw the Blue Ranger back over towards the Red Ranger's direction. DJ moaned as he fell beside Max's feet.
Max knelt down and put a hand on DJ's shoulder. "DJ, you alright?" He asked worriedly. DJ gave a painful nod.
Max then turned back to the monster and charged at him, but Mummidillo proved to be one tough opponent to beat, even without using his shell to protect himself from any of the Red Ranger's attacks.
As DJ managed to get back onto his feet, he looked over and realized the monster was getting the upper hand against his friend. Max was laying feet on his back struggling as Mummidillo had his foot against the Red Ranger's chest.
Before DJ could help, he noticed at the corner of his eyes two mysterious-looking figures. As of now, the sun has set and it was pitch black, save for the outdoor street light that lit up every other small space of the parking lot, including the area where Max was fighting Mummidillo.
DJ squinted his eyes as the visor on his helmet made it a little difficult to see through, especially now that the two figures weren't under a street lamp's bright rays.
The figures walked forward, to which DJ called out, believing to be just civilians. "Hey, you guys need to get out of here! It is not safe!"
But they ignored him and continued moving forward until they reached a lit parking spot that was the adjacent side of the street lamp that hovered over DJ, and the figures became clear to DJ's own vision. He couldn't catch his breath as these were no ordinary humans.
These were other Power Rangers. One was green, and the other was white.
"Who are you guys?!" DJ screamed, not noticing Max getting up on his feet as he continued to fight against the monster.
The White Ranger pulled out her staff from her back and pointed its sharp end towards DJ. It extended before a burst of white energy shot from its end.
Max, who was pinned against the wall by Mummidillo, saw what was happening to his friend from the corner of his eyes. He screamed DJ was absorbed into the white ball of energy before it flew towards the two mysterious Rangers.
"NO!" He screamed. The anger and adrenaline he felt gave him the strength to push Mummidillo back and strike him in the mid-section, causing the monster to yelp in pain as he fell backward onto the ground.
Max took his chance and ran towards the two Rangers, who had in their possession the ball his friend was absorbed.
"HEY, GET BACK HERE!" He screamed but was too late as the two Rangers use smoke bombs to teleport themselves off the planet before Max could reach them and save his friend.
Max couldn't believe what had occurred. He just witnessed his friend get kidnapped by two other Humanitors. Wait a minute, were those even Humanitors. They looked sort of like...
RANGERS!
Max held his fingers on his left ear, where his radio was implanted. "Ellie! Ellie, can you hear me?"
Ellie responded. "Yes, Max. What is up?"
"Two goons have gotten DJ, and I am certain they were the ones who have taken Maya as well. I need to save them, but I got this ugly thing to beat but he seems to be indestructible with his shell! I am panicking and I don't know what to do!
"Max, calm down!" Ellie spoke from the dojo as she looked up the monster on the Karate handbook. Once she found the page, she spoke through the mic.
"Max, listen. The monster is a special kind of Humanitor. His kind has hard shells to use in battle, but if you destroy his shell, you will destroy him, too."
"How can I destroy him?" Max asked as his heart began pounding as he noticed Mummidillo getting onto his feet.
"I'll upgrade your sword once again, but that won't be enough. Your element is air and perhaps any form of gas. If you were to tap into the moon's light and combine it with your Air Gush, you can easily demolish this jerk's shell."
"Thanks, Ellie!" Max responded as he felt his sword become more reflective. He then focused on the monster, who called out towards him.
"Do you think you can stop me? I am invincible!"
"Not for long," Max mumbled. The Red Ranger ran towards the monster as he felt the moon's light shine above him. He took his chance and jumped up high, using his abilities to tap into the Moon's bright power.
"BRIGHT AIR GUSH!" He called out as he descended down towards Mummidillo, who turned out and tilted forwards, his shell fully in view in front of Max. Max held his sword up high and struck once he reached the monster's level.
Mummidillo shrieked as he felt his insides being torn apart from Max's attack. "No, no, no! NOT MY SHELL!" He shouted as he Shell deteriorating into dust. Sparks began to fly all over Mummidillo's body, causing Max to keep his distance from him before the monster screamed. "I AM A MUMMY WHO WANTS HIS MUMMY!" Mummidillo then collapsed onto the ground and erupted.
DJ was held captive in Kartae. He was demorphed as he was now bound and gagged on a long pole on the adjacent side to where Po's throne was, just ten feet away. He then looked around the dark and gloomy place. It made him shiver madly the more he realized he was in PO'S world, in PO'S LAIR!
He then heard footsteps approaching. DJ looked up in front of him and was shocked to see the Green and White Rangers standing before him. A few days ago, DJ did some research and discovered that there were not just three Gems, there were five. However, Uni never brought up the Gems at all, and DJ knew better than to ask about subjects that had no business to him.
He then noticed a figure approaching behind the two Rangers. DJ squinted his eyes before they shot back open. His blood turned cold and he felt as if his heart was going to explode by the sight of the figure, none other than the Lord of the Humanitors himself, Po.
DJ couldn't believe how huge Po was. He was like the wrestler he used to watch, Batista. However, this thing was not human. This guy wore a steel vest and DJ couldn't stop acknowledging the lack of pupils Po had.
Po walked past the two Rangers and towards the dark-skinned kid. He chuckled. "Well, it is a pleasure to meet you, Dean-Jamal."
DJ could have responded clearly, but whatever he wanted to say just came out as muffles to the gag on his mouth.
Po chuckled and spoke. "I bet you are wondering where your friend is. Oh, sweet Maya. I couldn't let her power go to waste, so I decided to take them and put them to good use. See for yourself." He snapped his finger, causing a ray of light to shine on the far end corner of DJ's sighed. He looked over and muffled his screams as he noticed Maya bound to a chair. Her head was laid back as she lost consciousness due to her powers being drained from her.
"As of now, her Power is at 32 percent, but it may take just a short while to get that down to zero, but then, her heart will just stop, hopefully," Po said with a grin.
DJ looked over and felt tears form in his eyes. It wouldn't take long before he would lose his best friend forever, and go knows what Po is going to do to him afterward. It is not like he is going to let the kid go like that. DJ knew that if no one came to his rescue, he of course would not be alive for much longer.
He felt...trapped.
To be continued...
