I DO NOT OWN POWER RANGERS! This is a fan-made season
Maya Garcia, Signing Off Part Two
Maya, the Yellow Combat Ranger, felt her entire life flash before her eyes as the monster, Chamoguin, raised his razor-sharp flipper, ready to end her right then and there. There was no one to save her.
Not DJ, who was fending off a foot soldier who was pinning him against an adjacent tree.
Not Bonnie, who was surrounded by several Karadracs several feet from where the Yellow Ranger was pinned down.
Not Donnie, who was too busy laying waste to any enemy who tried to dominate him, slashing them with his staff.
And, not Max, who was nowhere in sight and probably wouldn't even bother helping his so-called best friend out after she had exploited the only identity that mattered to him all over the local news.
Maya squealed in horror at the sharp point of the flipper nearing her throat. She knew it was a matter of time before she would be exterminated.
Just then, a large, red projectile launched over Maya and struck Chamoguin, sending him flying backward wailing until he was slammed against a tree.
The impact sent the shield flying toward the direction it originated from. Maya sat up in shock before turning her head around, only to find the Red Ranger standing just a few feet behind her.
"Max!" Maya cheered, but Max didn't even acknowledge her. The Red Ranger just charged at Chamoguin, who just barely managed to make it back to his feet, still stunned by the leader's latest attack.
Chamoguin raised his flipper to block Max from striking him with his blade, but Max knew better. He charged up his blade and swung down on Chamoguin's flippers, leaving an impressionable slash.
Chamoguin screeched in horror before turning invisible yet again. Max growled as he examined his surrounding, trying to sense where the monster could be creeping around.
Then an idea crept into his mind. "Donnie!"
The 'Green Ranger' immediately was alerted by his leader, running past Maya, who was still standing there in shock at Max's new attitude. It was true Max was a dedicated leader and all, but this battle against the monster felt personal. Granted, this could be the Yellow Ranger's fault. Perhaps whatever rage Max wanted to take out on her, he was instead inflicting it on their enemy.
But then, Maya noticed at the corner of her eye what appeared to be the actual Green Ranger still fighting off the Karadracs. She was confused as to what was going on, but then when Donnie saw the second 'Green Ranger' approaching Max, he hollered in a panic.
"MAX, NO! THAT'S AN IMPOSTER!"
Maya gasped. Max didn't understand what was going on until the fake Green Ranger torpedoed his staff against Max's midsection, before catapulting him upward into the air.
Max screamed as he was launched several feet across the park, before roughly landing on the grass. The other Rangers finished off the Karadracs and rushed over to the Red Ranger with Maya.
"Are you okay, Max?" The Yellow Ranger asked with concern, hoping Max had cooled off since their encounter just a moment ago.
Max just brushed Maya off as he hopped onto his feet. "I'm fine." He said bitterly.
Then again, all of a sudden, a second Yellow Ranger appeared before the Rangers. "Guys, watch out! That's the bogus Yellow Ranger!"
"No!" Maya fired back. "Guys it's me!" She said.
The Second Yellow Ranger then stood next to her. "Guys no! It's just Chamoguin trying to trick us.
"NO!" Maya cried out.
"Wait a minute. I do not recall hearing about what his name was?" DJ pointed out, scratching his chin.
The Yellow Ranger who was making the accusations was taken aback and was scratching the back of her neck nervously. "Well, of course not. I...uh-" She stuttered, but then Maya, the REAL Yellow Ranger, raised her blade and struck down on the fake, causing Chamoguin to cry out and ditch the disguise, changing back to his original self as Maya laid a hard her to his midsection, sending him flying.
Max turned to Donnie. "You have the sense of a bat, right?" He asked.
The Green Ranger nodded.
"Let's combine our weapons and finish this freak, but Donnie, you are going to dictate where we shoot via clock position."
"Great idea!" Bonnie replied. The others agreed before pulling out their weapons.
"Eagle Shield!" Max called, pulling off his red, eagle-shaped shield.
"Shark Ax!" DJ pulled with his shark-tooth blue ax
"Cheetah Bow Gun!" Maya pulled out her yellow weapon
"Bat Bow!" Donnie pulled out his distinct Green Bow.
"Bear Lance!" Bonnie was now equipped with a white lance.
They combined their weapons to form the Combat Cannon. Chamoguin stood up from where he previously landed and looked stunned by the Rangers' large weapons. He immediately cloaked himself, forcing the Rangers to put their plan into action.
Max gave Donnie an affirming nod. Donnie closed his eyes underneath his helmet, taking a deep breath as he tried to engage with his surroundings, trying to locate Chamoguin via his sonic hearing.
Then it hit him. He immediately called out, pointing in the opposite direction to where Max was facing. "6 o'clock!"
The Rangers immediately ducked out of the way as Max quickly fired the cannon in the exact direction. The blast traveled across the park until it hit an invisible force, which turned out to be Chamoguin, who was forced out of his cloak, feeling his body beginning to erupt after absorbing it impact of the blast.
"NO!" He cried before erupting into flames, sending pieces of burnt grass flying all over the park.
"Perhaps I should give Chamoguin some fun. He deserves it after all." Buck spoke before sending over the aquatic ball through a portal.
The fertilizer revived and gigantified Chamoguin.
"Ellie, we need the Zords!" Max exclaimed through his communicator.
"Say no more!" Ellie replied. Soon, the Rangers used smoke bombs to teleport themselves into their respective cockpits.
All five Rangers clapped their hands together. "Form the Megazord, now!"
Within a few seconds, the Great Martial Megazord was put together.
Chamoguin laughed evilly, giving the Rangers a hint that he was tempting to attack. "That formation was impressive, I hate to admit it. But even now, you are no match against me." Green mists then swirled around him once, and once they faded away, Chamoguin was nowhere to be seen.
All the Rangers began to murmur as they were alarmed by their situation. Just then, they felt their entire cockpit tremble viciously as their Megazord was struck from behind.
"He's still there! He's just invisible!" DJ pointed out, but Chamoguin attacked the Megazord again, causing the cockpit to continue to shake. The Rangers were trying to keep the Megazord steady, but the invisible monster was not making it easier.
"How are we supposed to beat him if we can't even see him?" Bonnie asked.
"There has to be a way to uncloak him!" Maya pointed out.
"Max, Max, can you hear me?" Ellie's voice rang out through the Megazord's radio that was just recently installed.
"Yes, Ellie?" Max answered.
"I can see your situation, so here is a gift I have for you guys. Try out the Radar Fan!"
On queue, a flash emanated from the Megazord, hindering the Rangers' site for just a moment. Once it faded, the Megazord was now carrying a black, sharp fan known as a Tesson with bickering red light from one edge to the other.
"Awesome!" DJ cheered.
"Let's blow this guy away! Radar Fan, engage!" Max called. The Megazord pointed the fan forward and began rotating from left to right, its thermal vision allowing the Ranger to see where the monster could be lurking around.
Now Chamoguin was giving a white thermal signature through the Megazord's vision, letting the Rangers know he was nearby. Once his signature was caught, that's when they knew it was time to end this once and for all.
"Got ya!" Max exclaimed. The Megazord then swung the Tesson back before hurling the fan toward Chamoguin. The Tesson spun as it flew and knocked Chamoguin to the ground, forcing him to uncloak himself.
The Tesson then boomeranged itself back to the Megazord's hands. After the Megazord caught it, lightning inflicted itself onto the fan, charging it up.
"Final Fan Strike!" The Rangers called in unison. The Megazord launched the electrified tesson at Chamoguin.
"Is it too late to forfeit!" He then cried out as the fan speared through his midsection before it averted over his head and back over to the Megazord. "I guess I should take that as a 'no'!" He screeched before erupting.
"YES!" Bonnie and DJ all jumped to their seat and cheered. "Finally!" DJ yelled. "That guy was a pain!"
"You said it!" Bonnie replied, giving the Blue Ranger a high-five. Donnie leaned back against his seat and let out a deep sigh of relief.
Maya then got up and walked closer to Max, who still did not respond to her. He was just silent. "Max?" She spoke cautiously. "Max, please don't be mad. I know I screwed up, but please don't be mad."
The Red Ranger just stood up from his seat and walked off, not even sparing a word with Maya. The other three Rangers all sadly watched as Max exited the Megazord via a portal, before turning toward Maya.
Maya then said. "You guys are not mad at me for yesterday, right?"
All three Rangers looked at one another and said their respective answers.
"I'm just mad you didn't help, that was all." Donnie declared, sounding quite calm.
DJ shrugged his shoulders. "The media was already all over our butts anyway."
"At least they don't know who we are," Bonnie said.
The Yellow Ranger let out a huge sigh of relief. She was glad the three did not dislike her for what she had done. Max was a different story, however. She just needed to make things right with him.
Then an idea popped into her head.
Max had just exited the shower in Uni's house, drying his hair with a towel after putting on his robe. His gaze still looked furious, but also more exhausted after the day he just had. After exiting the bathroom, he was bombarded by Ellie, who looked at him with a grin.
"Guess who is in the living room waiting for you?" She tempted him.
Max rolled his eyes as he darted down the stairs. He was stunned to find Maya sitting with Sensei Uni on the couch.
"What do you want?" He asked bitterly, crossing his arms and glaring at Maya.
Maya stood up and grinned. "Have you watched the news yet?"
Max's eyes widened. "No, why? Did you do another story on us?"
"Yeah," Maya answered, but just when Max was about to lunge at her and attack her, she put her hand against his chest and stopped him. "Just read the news." She gave him her iPad, which had the news playing on the live TV app.
"Aspiring journalist Maya Garcia had just made some remarks on the Rangers' identities, claiming she has no idea who these heroes are. However, she has worked with several attorneys to keep the Rangers' future battles sacred from any media exposure, claiming these are our world's heroes and it would be best to keep their identities safe for the sake of their lives, and for the sake of all mankind. She had also made a public apology to the Rangers, who she claimed confronted her out of nowhere and reprimanded her for exposing them on television."
Max looked up at first with an expressionless face but then cracked a smile. "Thank you."
Maya shook her head. "Forget the public apology. You deserve a real one, face-to-face. I was just so blinded by becoming famous and having it all, that I realized that I already have it all. A family, a fulfilling duty to protect the Earth, and my friends, including you."
"Aw, that is so sweet!" Ellie commented.
Max chuckled before embracing his best friend. "You have no idea how much that means to me."
"Max, you have no idea how much YOU mean to me. You may be annoying, but I'll always be there for you. Always!"
"That is wonderful," Uni commented with a smile as he stood next to the two friends. "I intend to see you two continue to bond as you fight off against the Humanitors. Now, who wants cookies?"
"ME!" The two girls answered before racing to the kitchen. Uni just chuckled and rolled his eyes before glancing over at Max, who just sat on the couch, looking rather distant.
"A penny of your thoughts, Maxwell" Uni suggested, taking a seat next to the red-haired boy.
"Uni, when would I be able to see my parents again?" Max asked, looking up at his teacher with sad eyes.
Uni sighed and spoke. "I don't know when according to the ruling-"
"Is there any way we could go around the ruling?" Max almost begged. He just loathed being away from his mother and father. It has been so long since he had woken up to the fresh aroma of chocolate chip pancakes from his kitchen, along with cruising with his father in the man's police car. He didn't care if any method of being with his parents was unorthodox. He just wanted to be with his mom and dad.
Uni thought for a moment before putting on a smirk. "Well, there is one way, but it would be difficult."
Max's eyes widened as he nearly jumped from his seat. "What is it? I'll do anything." He exclaimed ecstatically.
Uni chuckled before patting Max's shoulder. "We can discuss it while we eat. Come on, let's go before the girls finish the cookies."
"Buck!" Po called out for his cousin, who was immediately alerted and rushed over to Po's throne.
"Yes, cousin," Buck replied, giving a slight bow.
"Monster after monster after monster," Po was enraged by Chamoguin's failure, just like all the monsters that came before that all tried to take on the Rangers, but failed miserably.
"I can explain-"
"You made a promise to me! You would take those Rangers down, yet here we are! The Rangers' bond is still stronger than ever, and our army is getting smaller and smaller by the day!" Po leaned forward and stared at Buck with piercing eyes. "You do not have much time here. I do not tolerate failure at this level. Get it together, because I cannot take failure for much longer. The next time I hear that the Rangers had foiled your plans once against, you are going 6 feet under. Do you understand me?"
Buck took a deep breath, trying to take in what Po had just said. He merely nodded his head. "Yes sir." He said, but his thoughts were different. Just one more monster destruction and I'll have absorbed enough power to split this world in two.
And that's it for this episode! Have a good one! I'll see you guys next time!
