After Morrow had completed the reconstruction of Red Tornado, Flash and Doctor Fate had kept their word and given him a one time pass and even allowed him to keep Red Torpedo and Red Inferno. For now, it was only right to uphold their word, since Morrow hadn't done anything wrong in years, though they had agreed to hold off on reactivating Tornado until they were safely back in the Hall of Justice. Morrow had admitted that he'd considered downloading and copying Red Tornado's memory files, but considering how outdated the information on those files was, there was no point in it anymore, since JSA was obsolete now.
Morrow had even said that it had felt good helping someone other than himself, but he wasn't sure if he truly liked that feeling. Time would tell if he could reform and put his science to good use helping humanity or if he'd return to his former wicked ways.
But now it was time to go. First Doctor Fate dropped Barry and Iris off at their apartment and as soon as they returned, Barry called Caitlin and asked her and Gabby, since Gabby had been with Caitlin at the time, to come and keep an eye on Iris and also check her over to make sure there were no unforeseen side effects of the nanite infusion and he'd also informed her that Ice Maiden would need to hold down the city a little while longer, since he had one last thing to take care of.
After making sure Iris was in capable hands, since Caitlin had brought a portable version of Mount Flash's medical bay with her, Barry still didn't quite understand that, aside from the fact that it was due to some tech his father had brought from his home earth, but anyways, after that, Flash and Doctor Fate finally returned to the Hall of Justice, where the now intact, but still dormant body of Red Tornado was waiting for them.
"We should alert Supergirl to the situation, since she did want to be kept informed of the spoils of your recon mission to General Eiling's office and I think that this qualifies." Doctor Fate said and Flash nodded his agreement.
"Besides, as the leader of the League, she should vet him herself before considering any new member." Barry agreed, since while he wanted to induct Red Tornado into the League himself, it ultimately was not his call, since Kara had set up official bylaws for inducting new members into the Justice League, which stated that while new membership votes could be called at any League meeting, if the need arose to bypass the usual system, only the current leader and chairperson of the Justice League could override the decision. Also, the bylaws stated that while new Leaguers would be called into service immediately, their induction into the League would be made public officially until a ceremony called at the end of each year, to avoid having the ceremony so many times that it became meaningless. But those bylaws meant that the only way Barry could get Red Tornado into the League now was by having Kara approve it, since she was the current leader of the Justice League and while he knew she'd step aside if asked to, he doubted anyone, including himself, would want her too due to how good a job she'd done.
"You'd better summon her then, since I'd like to bring my old friend back online." Doctor Fate said and Barry nodded as he pulled out his new League communicator, which utilized a special frequency and used a variation of Argo Enterprises' technology to work, to send a message to Kara to ask her to come to the hall.
A few minutes later, they heard the computer state "Supergirl, 01, access granted." as Kara walked into the lab, wearing a new Supergirl suit.
"Okay, what is so important that I had to rush here while I was finally spending some quality time with Lena and Krypto?" Kara asked, annoyed, before she noticed the android.
"Is that Red Tornado?" she asked, all annoyance leaving her voice as she now understood why Barry had sent her that message.
"Yeah. He was among the things we found while investigating General Eiling. The other artifacts are in the archives until we can move them to a more secure location." Barry said as he brought her up to speed on everything.
"So you let Morrow go with two more elemental androids?" Kara asked.
"We made a deal with him and honestly, he's been inactive for so long, I'm not sure he's even a threat anymore." Barry said.
"I get that and I respect you keeping your word, but let's keep that quiet. The last thing we need is the world finding out that the Justice League let a dangerous criminal get away. But I am happy to hear about Iris and I expect to get that wedding invite soon. And to meet her at Diana's wedding, since that's coming up soon." Kara said, since Diana's wedding to Steve was fast approaching.
"Yeah, I still can't believe that I'm on the guest list for Wonder Woman's wedding. Or that you're her maid of honor." Barry said.
"She was my mentor when I first became active as Supergirl and she's like another older sister to me. We have a close bond. Just like I have with Clark and Oliver seems to have with Bruce and you seem to have with Doc Fate and this new stray. Also, did you see the report about Firestorm, since he lives in your district?" Kara asked and Barry nodded.
"I'll keep an eye on him, try and train him and I do like the sound of this younger team you're putting together. Who knows, maybe I'll get a protege of my own to add to it soon, since I think my future brother-in-law Wally is still trying to find a way to recreate the accident that gave me my speed behind his dad's back. I'm just glad that I've grown as a hero and a speedster, since Dad's finally started teaching me more advanced moves like phasing and I've learned to throw the lightning I create when I run." Barry said, since he was no longer the inexperienced noob of the League and he'd sent numerous meta criminals to Belle Reve, including Mirror Master, Top, Weather Wizard, Multiplex, Peek-a-Boo, Rainbow Raider, Deathbolt, the Mist, Everyman and even one hell of a bruiser called King Shark.
"I know. You've become a real hero and I think you're beyond being a student now. You're ready to be a teacher. Besides, when your man in yellow shows up again, you'll need all the speedster help you can get. Especially since you're kind of behind the times since nearly every founding member has a protege now. I have Powergirl, Diana has Wondergirl, Clark now has Superboy, J'onn now has Miss Martian, Bruce has Robin, Spoiler and based on what Clark told me, a new protege, Bluebird and even Oliver's taking on a protege, though she doesn't have a codename yet. You and Alex are the only stragglers. Not to mention Black Lightning has Lightning and I'm getting it's only a matter of time until Arthur takes on a protege too." Kara said and Barry nodded.
"Anyways, I called you here because I think that due to Red Tornado's service for the JSA, it warrants bypassing our usual voting process for letting him in." Barry said.
"And I agree. Though, if he's agreeable to it, I would like to upgrade his systems a bit to allow him to be able to shift to a human form." Kara said.
"I think he'll be more than agreeable to that, since one of Red's deepest desires was to become more human. But now, can we turn him on?" Doctor Fate asked.
"Of course." Kara said as she nodded at Fate to do the honors, since he was Red Tornado's oldest living friend.
"Thank you. And now." Fate said as he used the activation code Morrow had given him to turn Red Tornado back online.
"System reboot complete, Red Tornado back online. Hello Kent." Red Tornado spoke as he registered his old friend.
"Hello Tornado. It's been a long time. Welcome back my old friend." Kent said as he removed his helmet.
"I take it there is much to bring me up to speed on." Red Tornado said as he took in his new surroundings.
"Indeed. We have much to discuss." Kent said as Tornado slowly managed to get to his feet.
