Baboons

The Lion Guard went about their morning patrol, and all appeared quiet in the Pride Lands.

"Ono, how's it looking from up there?" Kion asked.

"We've got a big rain cloud moving in," Ono answered, hovering above the Guard. "Other than that, no signs of trouble. Wait," the egret narrowed his eyes, focusing his vision, "Mzingo and the vultures, they're circling."

"And that usually is a sign of trouble," Fuli muttered under her breath, sharing a look with Kion.

"Is it just Mzingo and his vultures, or do you see Janja and his hyenas anywhere?" Kufu asked the egret.

"I don't see Janja, I only see the vultures," Ono answered.

"Then we should go see what they're up to," Kion voted. "Ono, lead the way."

"Affirmative!" The Keenest of Sight firmly nodded and led the rest of the Guard in the direction.

In another part of The Pride Lands, Kiara along with Dalia, Tiifu, and Zuri were walking across the grasslands.

"So, where are you taking me exactly?" Kiara asked her friends.

"Don't worry, we're almost there," Zuri assured her.

"You know I have to be back soon," Kara reminded them. "It's the first time I'm presiding over the Royal Buffalo Wallow. My mom and dad won't be there. It's just me. So I have to make a good impression."

Tiifu and Zuri looked at each other with a smirk.

"Of course, that's what this is all about," Tiifu said with a giggle.

"And you two were supposed to help me get ready, remember?" Kiara reminded them with a raised brow.

"We will Kiara," Zuri assured her.

"But why am I here?" Dalia questioned the two lionesses. "I don't usually hang out with you girls, I mostly hang out with Kion and the Lion Guard."

"Well, since the Lion Guard are busy, we figured that you should hang out with us for once," Tiifu answered.

"Besides, isn't this better than staying in the den all day with that dork you call a brother?" Zuri asked, referring to Kopa.

Dalia looked at them for a second before she nodded. "OK, I see your point." She said, not wanting to deal with her brother.

The four lionesses soon arrived at a field with a bunch of yellow flowers all around the area.

"Here we are! Urembo Meadows!" Tiifu announced.

"And we're here, why?" Kiara asked.

"You need to look your best for your princessy duties," Zuri answered with a sigh.

Kiara then looked at herself. "What's wrong with the way I look now?" She asked.

"Yeah, she looks fine to me." Dalia agreed.

"Nothing, Kiara," Tiifu answered, "Nothing at all."

"Nothing we can't fix," Zuri added as she and Tiifu made their way to the fields and lay on the flowers.

"Come on Kiara, Dalia, it'll be fun!" Tiifu encouraged them.

Kiara and Dalia looked at each other before looking back at Tiifu and Zuri.

"Well I guess I have a little time," Kiara said with a smile.

"Better than doing nothing, I guess," Dalia said with a shrug before she and Kiara joined Tiifu and Zuri.

Mzingo and two of his vultures were circling over a baby baboon with light gray fur and big, teal eyes.

"As a senior member of the Lunch Committee, I move we forego prolonged debate... And dive into business," Mzingo said as they began to dive toward the baby baboon.

"I second that motion," Mwoga agreed as the vultures were about to take the baby baboon.

"Vultures!" Kion yelled as the Guard raced to the scene. "Leave the baby baboon alone!"

Ono flew right into Mwoga's path, glaring at the older vulture, who let out a slightly terrified squawk.

"Go ahead," Ono challenged. "Make your move, Mwoga."

"Don't worry, baboonie," Bunga assured as the baby primate ran to him. "The Lion Guard will save you."

"Incoming!" Beshte warned as Mzingo dove straight for the baby baboon.

"I got him!" Kufu called, leaping over Bunga and landing on Beshte's back.

"Oh-no!" Mzingo gasped, trying to cease his flying. Kufu swiped his paw and hit Mzingo square in the beak, the vulture let out a yelp. "Yield to the Guard!" Mzingo ordered, flying away with his two companions.

The baby baboon panted, trying to catch his breath after the terrifying experience.

"All right, little guy, you're safe," Kion reassured him with a smile.

The next second, a clasp of thunder rumbled and rain began to pour from the sky. Fuli rolled her eyes in annoyance,

"First baboons, now rain," Fuli groaned. "Could it get any better?"

A wave crashed over the small piece of land the baby baboon was standing on, washing him downriver with him screeching in fear.

"Baboonie!" Bunga exclaimed.

"Way to jinx it, Fuli!" Kufu said, giving the cheetah a look.

"Fuli! The baboon!" Kion looked at the Guard's Fastest. "You're the only one fast enough!"

"Got it, Kion," the cheetah nodded, speeding off shouting, "Huwezi!"

Back at Urembo Meadows, Kiara, Dalia, Tiifu, and Zuri were sitting underneath a tree to keep themselves dry from the rainstorm.

"You know, Kiara, a little moisture is good for your complexion," Tiifu advised the princess.

"A 'little' moisture?" Kiara repeated. "This rainstorm could last all day."

Just then, the rainstorm stopped, surprising the four lionesses as they walked out and saw that the sun was out.

"Huh, I guess it was just a passing rain cloud," Dalia said in surprise.

Tiifu and Zuri then approached the flowers and smelled some before laying down on them.

"After all that rain, the flowers smell even sweeter!" Tiifu sighed before looking at Kiara. "Which means you'll smell even sweeter for the Buffalo Wallow!"

"Oh boy," Dalia said, rolling her eyes.

Just then Kiara and Dalia heard rumbling sounds as they looked ahead and saw a flood heading towards them and washed away the land around them leaving an island in the middle of the river with the four lionesses on it.

"Oh no, that was our only way back!" Kiara gasped in shock.

"How are we gonna get to the Buffalo Wallow now?" Dalia asked.

The rest of the Guard followed Fuli, and the rain cleared up after a few minutes. Ono kept watch from the sky for any signs of trouble and found something interesting.

"I don't remember an island being there before," the egret muttered to himself. He focused his vision and saw four young lionesses trapped on the small island. "Kiara? Dalia? Tiifu and Zuri?"

The baby baboon grabbed a branch on the side of the bend, holding on for dear life. Two seconds later, Fuli skidded to a halt and grabbed the infant by his scruff, dropping him on the ground by her paws,

"There, you're safe," the cheetah said, "Again." The baby jumped up and hugged the cheetah, nuzzling against her neck, making Fuli a little uncomfortable. "Maybe, you should go on home now."

"Aw, that's so cute," Beshte chuckled, seeing how the baby took so well to Fuli. "I think the little guy likes you."

"Too bad Fuli doesn't like baboons," Bunga retorted.

"I like baboons just fine," Fuli rebuffed. "As long as they're not anywhere near me."

"That's basically you confirming that you don't like baboons," Kufu said with a chuckle.

"Everyone!" Ono called, circling over the Guard before landing on Beshte's back. "You won't believe this, but..." he stopped when he heard the cooing baby baboon as he snuggled against Fuli's neck.

"Somebody wanna get this thing off me?" Fuli asked, now very annoyed.

"Somebody wanna get me off this island?" Kiara cleared her throat as the Lion Guard saw the princess and her two best friends along with Dalia trapped on a small island right across from them.

"Kiara?" Kion said in shock.

"Dalia?" Kufu followed.

"Tiifu and Zuri?" Bunga said with a raised brow.

"That's what I was going to say you wouldn't believe," Ono added to his earlier thought.

"I thought Dad asked you to handle the Buffalo Wallow ceremony?" Kion asked his sister. "What are you doing on that island?"

"It wasn't an island when we got here," the princess answered.

"The rain washed away all the land around us," Dalia explained.

"Don't worry, Kiara," Kion assured, stepping up beside Kufu. "We'll get you off that island."

"Yeah, Kiara, Dalia, listen to the Lion Guard," Zuri agreed with a sigh as she fell on her back and lay in the small flower patch. "Come and relax in the flowers."

"By the time the Lion Guard rescues us, we'll have you smelling and looking great for the buffaloes," Tiifu giggled, lying on her stomach in the same flower patch.

"Uh, Kion?" Fuli questioned. "What're we going to do with this guy?" She glanced at the baby baboon still clinging to her neck.

"We need to get him home," Kion answered. "His family probably lives in the big baboon tree in Nyani Grove. It's not far." The prince added. "So, it shouldn't take you too long to get him home."

"Me? Uh..." the Guard's Fastest blinked. "...Don't you need me to help you get Kiara off the island?"

"We can manage until you get back," Kion informed her with a smile. "Besides, I think that baby baboon kinda likes you." A slight grin formed on his muzzle.

"Lucky me," Fuli sighed, as the baby animal continued to nuzzle her.

"Have fun with your new friend, Fuli, hehehe," Kufu teased with a chuckle.

"Oh and take Kufu with you," Kion added.

"Wait what?!" Kufu exclaimed looking at Kion in shock. "B-But don't you need me to help get the girls off the island?"

"Like I said, we'll manage till you get back," Kion informed him with a smirk. "And let that be a lesson not to open your mouth.

Kufu sighed in defeat. "All right, off to Nyani Grove it is, let's go, Fuli."

"We'll Be right back," Fuli told them as the baby baboon jumped onto the cheetah's back, "You ready?" She asked, the infant giving a coo of approval. "Huwezi!" Fuli sped off towards Nyani Grove.

"Wait for me, Fuls, Huwezi Kuniona!" Kufu exclaimed following the cheetah.

"OK, now, how do we get Kiara, Dalia, Zuri, and Tiifu off that island?" Kion pondered, his tail swaying behind him.

The baby baboon cheered happily as he rode on Fuli's back. He entertained himself by tugging on her ears.

"Hey, easy on the ears," the cheetah snapped. The infant grabbed the feline's tail and started rubbing it against his cheek. "And don't pull my tail!" Fuli scolded through gritted teeth. "Baboons," she groaned with a roll of her eyes.

"Heh, maybe not helping the others ain't so bad after all," Kufu said with a chuckle. "Because at least I can enjoy the show."

"Shut it, Kufu!" Fuli growled as the baboon's grove soon came into view, making Fuli sigh in relief. "Well, here you are. Back home in Nyani Grove," she announced, stopping in front of a large tree.

"Hello?" Kufu called out. "Any baboons home?"

The baboon troop leader hopped down from one of the taller branches. "Fuli and Kufu of the Lion Guard?" he questioned, looking down at the cheetah and lion. "What are you two doing here?" He asked with a scratch of his head.

"We just wanted to make sure this baby got home safe," Fuli answered, motioning to the infant on her back.

"That's nice of you," the troop leader hooted. "Just one little problem, that's not our baby," he informed. "He belongs to our neighbors."

"Well, which tree do they live in?" Kufu asked.

"Tree? They don't live in a tree," the troop leader laughed. "They live on Mapango Cliffs." He pointed in said direction. "In a cave, way up at the top."

Fuli and Kufu followed the same line of sight, their ears falling flat.

"Way up at the top?" Fuli whined. "Guess this is going to take a little longer than I thought." She sighed.

"Let's just get this baby baboon home, Fuli," Kufu said as they both headed towards the cliffs.

Back on the island, Kiara and Dalia approached Tiifu and Zuri who were basically messing with the mud.

"Tiifu, Zuri, we have to find a way off this island," Kiara told her friends.

"And what are you two even doing?" Dalia asked before Tiifu put mud on both her and Kiara's faces.

"Giving you two a mud facial," Tiifu answered.

"Remember, it never hurts to look your best," Zuri added as the two lionesses continued to put mud on Kiara and Dalia's faces.

"Hold still, it has to dry," Tiifu told them as Kiara and Dalia gave them a look with mud all over their faces they tried to speak to them but with the mud on their faces, it's hard to understand them. "Uhh, what did they say?"

"I don't know, I can't understand them," Zuri answered with a shrug as Kiara and Dalia got the mud off their faces.

"I said that we're trapped!" Dalia answered.

"And I said that I don't wanna keep the buffalos waiting," Kiara told them. "We need to find a way to cross that river."

"But why even attend the buffalo ceremony if you're not looking your best?" Zuri questioned.

"Besides, both of your fur feels softer already," Tiifu said, rubbing both Dalia and Kiara's fur.

"Well now that you mentioned it, my fur does feel softer than before," Dalia said, rubbing her fur before seeing Kiara giving her a look. "What? I was just saying."

"Now, how about some more mud?" Zuri asked, holding a pile of mud on her paws.

Meanwhile, the Lion Guard was trying to find a way to get the four lionesses off the island.

"A-ha! I got it!" Bunga piped up, turning to Kion. "Use the Roar to get rid of all the water!" He suggested. "Then they could just walk off the island."

"Unless the Roar destroys the island," Kion pointed out with a raised brow.

"That wouldn't be good," Beshte noted.

"But there might be another way to get them off the island. We can make a bridge," Kion said before looking around, spotting a tree a few feet behind them. "And we can use that tree." He said before looking at the Guard's Strongest. "Beshte, think you can knock it down?"

"Sure thing, Kion," the hippo replied. He got behind the tree and pressed his head against it. "Twende Kiboko!" Beshte grunted, pushing against the tree until it broke, landing across the river. "One tree bridge, ready to go!"

Another wave washed over the tree and carried it downstream.

"And there it goes," Bunga sighed.

"Along with more of the island," Ono noted.

As Fuli and Kufu ran towards Mapango Cliffs, the baby baboon was busy gibbering away.

"Hey, baboon? Mind making a little less noise up there?" Fuli asked, as politely as she could considering how annoyed she was.

"He's a baby, Fuli," Kufu reminded her. "He doesn't know any better.

"He's still annoying though," Fuli muttered before she and Kufu ran past a tree, which the baby then jumped into. "That's better, nice and quiet." The cheetah sighed contently before they both skidded to a halt.

"A little too quiet," Kufu pointed out as he and Fuli realized the baby baboon was gone. "Wait, where did the baboon go?!"

"Baboon?" Fuli asked, looking around, "Baboon!"

Just then, Kufu and Fuli got hit in the head with a baobab fruit and they looked up to see the baby baboon up on a tree throwing baobab fruits at them.

"Don't you even think about..." Fuli was cut off when she got hit with another baobab fruit.

"I got him, Huwezi Kuniona!" Kufu exclaimed as he climbed up the tree and grabbed the baby baboon by his scruff before jumping down and putting the baby baboon back on Fuli's back. "There you go, little guy, back on Mama Fuli's back. "He teased.

"Very funny, Kufu," Fuli said in a deadpan tone.

"Aw, come on, Fuli, you gotta admit that this little baboon is cute," Kufu said, looking at the baby baboon. "At least when he's not throwing baobab fruits and messing with our tails."

Fuli rolled her eyes before giving a smirk. "OK, maybe he's a little cute." She admitted. "But that doesn't mean I actually like baboons now."

"Wouldn't expect you to," Kufu said with a chuckle. "Now, come on, let's get this little guy home." He said as they both made their way to Mapango Cliffs.

Kiara and Dalia walked to the edge of the island, watching more of it crumble away. They both looked at each other in concern before looking at Tiifu and Zuri, who were lying on their backs soaking up the sun.

"Tiifu, Zuri," Kiara got their attention.

"What?" Zuri asked, rolling onto her stomach. "Is it time to roll over?"

"Try lying in the sun, Kiara," Tiifu added, lying on her side. "It's so relaxing."

"I'm sure it is," Dalia deadpanned. "But we're getting out of here. Now!"

"What about the Lion Guard?" Zuri questioned.

"Aren't they going to rescue us?" Tiifu asked.

"No time to wait," Kiara told them.

"Besides, I have a plan," Dalia smiled, showing the girls a small puddle of water with three small stones laid across it. "We're gonna make a stepping stone path to shore. All we need is a few big stones."

"Wow, nice idea, Dalia," Kiara said with a smile. "You know I'm kinda surprised that you're not an honorary member of the Lion Guard because you'd fit in with my brother's team perfectly."

"Heh, I wish I was," Dalia said with a smirk. "But let's just find some stones for my plan to work."

"Ooh, I see a stone," Tiifu giggled, finding a small stone near the edge of the island. "This will be easy." She knocked it into the water.

"We'll need something just a little bigger," Kira noted.

"Ooh! This is bigger!" Zuri giggled, walking up to a larger stone that sparkled in the sunlight. "And shinier, I can see my face in it."

"Really? Let me see," Tiifu ran over and stood next to Zuri, both cubs staring at their reflections."

"Does my nose look big to you?" Zuri questioned, rubbing her nose with her paw.

"No, it looks pretty," Tiifu replied.

Kiara and Dalia shook their heads and looked around the island, spotting a large boulder that would be perfect for her plan. The two lionesses pushed up against it, trying to move the boulder, but it wouldn't budge.

"A little help?" Dalia asked the two lionesses.

"But...I might chip a claw," Zuri rebuffed.

"Zuri," Kiara growled, glaring at her friend.

The tawny-orange cub giggled nervously, walking up to her friend, with Tiifu at her side.

"OK, here we go," the princess leaned against the boulder, "One, two, three... Push!"

The four lioness cubs put all their strength into pushing the boulder. The large stone budged from its position but ended up rolling downhill, destroying another part of the island before sinking into the river.

"We did it!" Zuri cheered.

"No, we didn't," Kiara corrected.

"But we got the rock to the river," Tiifu pointed out.

The princess rolled her eyes, got to her feet, and looked at Dalia. "It was a good plan though, Dalia," Kiara told her.

"Thanks, Kiara," Dalia sighed. "There's got to be something we can do to get off this island."

Ono flew around the island and saw what Kiara had planned, "Too bad that boulder idea didn't work." The egret sighed. "Better tell the rest of the Guard." He flew back to the others, perching on Beshte's back as he relayed what happened with Dalia's plan.

Meanwhile, Kufu and Fuli were almost at Mapango Cliffs.

"Won't be long," Fuli assured as she ran towards the cliffs. "You're almost home."

Kufu then noticed something up ahead which made his eyes widen. "Uhh, Fuli, we got a little problem." He informed her.

Fuli looked ahead and saw what Kufu saw, Mzingo and two of his parliament circling a few yards ahead of them. Fuli and Kufu quickly jumped into the tall grass to hide.

"We have to get past the vultures to get to the cliffs," Fuli whispered to the baby on her back. "So get down, and no noise." The small primate did as instructed, hunching low and putting on a semi-terrifying look on his face.

"Good job, little guy," Kufu praised. "Now, follow us"

Mzingo and his vultures continued to circle, pretty soon catching the sound of a chittering gasp. "All who think that sounded like a little baboon say aye."

He announced to his parliament, both vultures replying with a firm, "Aye!"

The three birds perched in a nearby dead tree, scanning the grass for the small animal. Soon, they caught sight of the grass rustling,

"There, in the grass," Mzingo alerted. The vulture leader started chuckling, "Come out, come out, wherever you..." he said in a sing-song voice when all of a sudden Fuli and Kufu popped their heads up. "...Oh, it's you. Greetings, Fuli, Kufu." Mzingo sighed.

"What are you two doing out here?" Mwoga asked.

"What? Is it wrong for two friends to hang out?" Kufu questioned.

"Yeah, just because we're on the Lion Guard, doesn't mean we're not friends," Fuli told him.

"Really?" Mzingo questioned, not entirely believing the Guard's Fastest. "What happened to that delicious...I mean, adorable baby baboon we were trying to help earlier?"

The cheetah rolled her eyes, "Trying to help?"

"Oh, yes," the lead vulture continued. "He was hopelessly lost and we were trying to guide him home," he added, acting all innocent-like.

"Yeah, sure you were," Kufu said, rolling his eyes.

Unknown to the vultures, the baby baboon was hiding underneath Fuli's stomach, clinging to her underbelly. A blade of grass tickled his nose and he was fighting the urge to sneeze. Just before he could, Fuli covered his nose with her tail.

"Well, I'm sure the little baboon made it home safely," Fuli told him.

"So, if you don't mind... we're both on a hunt," Kufu informed the vultures.

"What are you both hunting?" Mzingo inquired.

"Well, you're looking pretty plump," Fuli chuckled, licking her lips.

"Yeah, I've always wondered what vultures tasted like," Kufu added with a smirk.

"Me?!" Mzingo gulped. "Well… yes… um… meeting adjourned!" He excused himself, flying off with his parliament.

The cheetah and lion cub waited until the vultures were out of sight before walking out of the grass.

"Heh, what an idiot," Kufu said with a chuckle.

"Good job staying quiet under there," Fuli smiled down at the baby baboon, who let out the sneeze he was holding in.

"So, Kiara and Dalia tried to use a boulder as a stepping stone?" Kion questioned, quirking his brow. "Sounds like a good plan."

"Unfortunately, it collapsed part of the island into the water," Ono informed him.

"Just like our tree did," Beshte reminded them.

"They were both good plans," Kion stated. "Just not good enough, Hmm, I wonder..." He pondered, his tail swishing back and forth before he let out a gasp, "That's it!"

"What's it, Kion?" Bunga asked with a confused look.

"You figure something out?" Beshte questioned.

"Bunga, Beshte, help me move that big boulder," Kion then switched focus to the egret in front of him, while the honey badger and hippo ran behind the large boulder a foot away from them. "Ono, fly over and get Kiara, Dalia, Tiifu, and Zuri. Bring them to that tree."

"You got it," Ono nodded, before taking off as Kion joined Bunga and Beshte behind the boulder.

Mpango Cliffs came into view and Fuli and Kufu let out a heavy sigh.

"Here we are. You're home safe and..." Fuli didn't get a chance to finish her sentence when the baby baboon jumped off her back and started scaling the cliffs up toward his troop. "Figures," Fuli rolled her eyes. "Get him all this way and he just runs off... Baboons."

"Heh, the baby baboon is just glad to be back home, Fuli," Kufu said with a smile. "You can't really blame him.

Fuli and Kufu turned to make their way back to where they left the rest of the Guard, only to realize that Mzingo and his vultures were flying above them.

"Motion to engage with lunch?" Mzingo asked his parliament as they all said 'Aye' and flew towards the baby baboon and his mother.

"Oh, no, you don't!" The cheetah hissed, running up the cliffs.

"You are not touching those baboons, you savages!" Kufu growled as he followed Fuli up the cliffs.

Kiara, Dalia, Tiifu, and Zuri gathered at the island's edge, listening as Kion explained his plan.

"Is he serious?" Zuri whispered to Tiifu.

"I think he is," Tiifu whispered back. "Think it'll work?"

"I like your plan, Kion, but we better be quick," Kiara urged.

"Yeah, 'cause this island isn't going to last much longer," Dalia added.

"But we can't leave yet," Tiifu interjected, jumping in front of Kiara and Dalia.

"We haven't finished getting ready for your Royal Buffalo thingy!" Zuri added.

More of the island crumbled away, causing the four cubs to fall into the water. Kiara and Dalia managed to swim back to shore easily enough, grabbed Tiifu and Zuri by their scruffs, and dragged them back onto the island. All four girls now had messy fur and muddy paws.

"You saved us!" The two cubs grinned.

"That's what princesses do," Kiara beamed.

"Now, let's get out of here," Dalia looked across the river. "Kion?"

Kion nodded and ran behind the boulder, standing on his hind legs between Bunga and Beshte. The three animals leaned against the boulder and put all they had into knocking it over, which they did. Kion jumped onto it,

"We're all set on our end!" Kion called over to the lionesses. "Are you girls ready on your end?"

"I'm ready!" Kiara called back,

"Are you two ready?" Dalia asked, looking over to Tiifu and Zuri.

"Ready," they chorused.

Kiara stood right between Dalia and her best friends.

"Then...push!" Kiara ordered, the four cubs pressing against the tree until it snapped, falling over the river and landing on the boulder.

"Alright, now hurry!" Dalia urged, as more of the island collapsed around the four cubs.

Zuri ran over the tree bridge first, followed closely by Tiifu, with Kiara and Dalia bringing up the rear. Once they all made it safely across, they jumped from the boulder to the ground.

"You did it!" Zuri and Tiifu cheered.

"We all did it," Kiara corrected, glancing at her brother and his Lion Guard.

"Right," Kion agreed.

Fuli ran up the cliffs, trying to outrun the vultures. "Claws off my baboon!" The cheetah growled, continuing her climb.

"Your baboon?" Kufu repeated in amusement.

"Shut it, Kufu!" Fuli growled.

"It's no use, Lion Guard," Mzingo laughed. "You two can't climb faster than we can fly." The lead vulture was suddenly hit in the beak with a fruit, thrown by the baby baboon Fuli and Kufu just returned. The entire troop joined in, causing Mwoga and the other vultures to crash into one another.

Fuli and Kufu reached a wide ledge and caught their breaths.

"Haha, the baboons! They are holding them off!" Kufu exclaimed.

"Keep holding 'em off!" Fuli called up to the cliff baboons. "We're almost there!"

Getting their second wind, Fuli and Kufu continued racing up the cliffside.

"Get the baby," Mzingo ordered his two subordinates. "I'll take care of the cubs." The lead vulture dove straight for the Guard's Fastest and Slyest, staying just out of reach of their claws.

Fuli swiped at the vulture, losing her footing and sliding off the cliff's ledge, Kufu grabbed her by the scruff at the last second. Before Mzingo could strike again, the infant baboon threw another fruit, which knocked the vulture down into a tree branch hanging over the cliff.

Fuli laughed at the sight of the entangled vulture.

"Thanks," she said, looking up at the baby baboon and his mother before looking at Kufu. "And thanks for the save, Kufu."

"No problem," Kufu said as he pulled her up onto the ledge.

Mzingo soon freed himself from the branch, shaking off the fall. "I'll be back for you," he grumbled, flying towards the baby baboon.

As he flew upwards, Fuli and Kufu leaped off the ledge and pounced, pinning the male vulture to the ground.

"Mzingo," the cheetah snarled. "Tell your parliament to back off!" She pressed her claws against his neck and bared her teeth.

"Unless you and your parliament wanna end up as cheetah and lion food!" Kufu growled, baring his teeth.

"Emergency motion to cease and desist!" Mzingo squawked.

The two vultures stopped their taunting, "Shall we form a committee and put it to a vote?" Mwoga asked.

"No! Stop!" Mzingo ordered, wiggling out from under the two felines and flying off, his two subordinates behind him.

The baboon troop climbed down the cliffs and stood in front of Fuli and Kufu, chanting their names. The troop leader, who was also the mother of the baby that Fuli rescued, stepped forward,

"Thank you for saving my baby," she said, giving Fuli and Kufu a sincere smile.

The baby baboon jumped from his mother's arms to Fuli's back and nuzzled against her neck, squeaking out "Huwezi," which made Fuli smile.

"You know, Fuli, you would actually make a great mom someday," Kufu said with a smile which made the cheetah blush in embarrassment.

The rest of the Lion Guard escorted Kiara, Dalia, Tiifu, and Zuri to the Buffalo Wallow.

"Thanks for the escort, Lion Guard," Kiara said, tipping her head to the five Guard members.

"It was our pleasure, Princess Kiara," Ono replied with a bow.

The lioness princess smiled at each animal, "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a royal duty to perform." She walked down the hillside with her head held high, despite her fur still being messy and muddy, and approached the buffalo herd leader.

"Your Highness," the female leader bowed.

"Vuruga Vuruga," the princess returned the bow. "So good to see you."

"And you," Vurugua Vuruga agreed. "I must say, you look ready for the wallow." She smiled, leaning down closer to the cub, "Usually, the royals are always so stuffy at these things. But this..." she noted the princess' messy fur and muddy paws, "...This is most impressive! Clearly, you understand what the Buffalo Wallow is all about."

"Uh, thank you, Vuruga Vuruga. Though Zuri and Tiifu deserve some of the credit, too," Kiara replied, glancing at her two best friends. "They always insist I try to look my best. Now..." she stepped forward, addressing the entire buffalo herd. "..Let the Buffalo Wallow begin!"

The entire herd let out low bellows and ran down the hillside, jumping right into the large mud puddle below.

Up on the hill, the rest of the Guard watched the wallow. "Poa!" Beshte sighed with a grin. "That sure looks like fun."

"You said it, Big B," Bunga agreed.

Fuli and Kufu ran up and joined the rest of their friends.

"Sorry, it took so long, guys," the Guard's Slyest sighed. "We had a little vulture trouble on the way."

"But the baby baboon is home safe," Fuli informed them. "Just wasn't as simple as we thought it would be."

Kion rolled her eyes, "Nothing's ever simple when it comes to Fuli and baboons."

"You said it, Kion," Dalia nodded in agreement.

"Yeah," Bunga chuckled. "Bet you're glad to be rid of that pesky little baboonie."

"You know it," Fuli giggled.

"Still hate baboons, Fuli?" Kufu asked with a smirk.

"Heh, yeah I still don't like them," Fuli said, smirking back at him. "But if that little baboon taught me anything, it's that maybe not all baboons are so bad after all." She said as she cast a glance over her shoulder, looking in the direction of Mapango Cliffs, a smile crossing her muzzle.

A/N: And that was Baboons and I made it where Kufu joined Fuli because I realized that I haven't made an episode with just the two of them so I made it happen here and just a heads up, the next chapter won't come out until either October 30th or 31st because of what the episode is about so I hope you all enjoyed the chapter, leave a review and tell us what you think.

Up Next: Rafiki tells a scary story and now everyone thinks there's a monster in the Pride Lands.
