Hi everyone, here is another chapter of Lara and Kurtis enjoy.

Please note FF readers. Just in this one-shot, Kurtis is a few years older than Lara.

Thank you.

Lara had been working at the Nine Belle's for a while now, and although it wasn't her dream job, it was enough to earn some money for herself. She was only twenty-one, but she had already set her sights on an adventure of a lifetime. She was planning on finding Yamatai in a few months and she knew that it would be an incredible journey. But there was something that had caught her attention at the pub, a stranger who had walked in many times before.

This stranger had striking blue eyes and a kind smile that had instantly caught Lara's attention. She couldn't help but feel drawn to him, even though she sensed danger around him. It was a feeling that she kind of liked, as it made her heart race every time he entered the pub.

One night, he sat at the bar and ordered his usual beer. Lara couldn't help but feel nervous as she approached him with the cold bottle in hand. He smirked at her, and his messy hair fell between his eyes that were staring right into her soul. She couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest.

"Thanks," he said, taking a sip of his beer. "So, tell me, how's your day?"

Lara hated this part. She wanted to ask him questions, to get to know him better, but he always left after one beer. She had learned his name, Kurtis, and he had told her that his work required a lot of traveling. Lara liked the idea of meeting someone with such an adventurous spirit, just like herself. She was planning on exploring the world, and she hoped to find someone who would share that passion with her.

But there was something holding her back, a fear that she would end up like her father. She wanted to clear her family's name from the shame her father had brought upon them before his death. It was a burden that she carried with her every day, and it was a constant reminder of what she didn't want to become.

"Same old," Kurtis replied, sipping his beer. "Look, you should fight for what you want."

Lara looked at him in shock. Why was he saying something like that? Did he know what she was thinking? She heard him speak again as he stood up to leave, leaving the empty bottle on the counter.

"I like a girl who fights for what she wants," he said, smirking as he left the pub.

Lara watched him leave, feeling a mix of confusion and curiosity. She couldn't help but wonder what he meant by those words. As she followed him out the door, she saw that he was gone, like the wind. She sighed and went back to work, his words repeating in her head. She couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to him than met the eye.

It was a strange feeling, but it made her even more determined to find Yamatai and see what else the world had to offer. She knew that the journey wouldn't be easy, but she was ready to fight for what she wanted, just like Kurtis had suggested. Lara smiled to herself, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. She was ready for the adventure of a lifetime.
