Outside, a heavy stone block was slowly pushed out of a stone structure. From the resulting hole emerged a panting Sun. He climbed out with Blake right behind.
"Thank goodness they're out of that ghastly place," Kali said with relief.
"You can say that again," Nora said, still a little freaked out by the skeletons in the previous scene.
Down below, they spotted a crude airstrip and a large airplane with its engine running.
"Nice-looking plane," Yang admitted while eating a handful of popcorn.
"So, they're going to fly the Ark back to Mistral?" Oscar asked worriedly.
"Not if I can help it," Sun said, knowing his counterpart was already planning something.
Nearby, Sienna hopped into a jeep and drove off, missing Sun and Blake as they hid behind a row of barrels.
"They're going to fly it out of here," Sun said in realization as he came up with a plan. "When that Ark gets loaded, we're already going to be on the plane."
"Good plan. But they'll have to stay under the radar," Weiss said, knowing there were plenty of White Fang reinforcements in the vicinity.
Elsewhere, Cinder emerged from a tent and approached Adam lounging in a chair.
"Ah, Ms. Fall, let us toast our success in the desert," he offered as he poured a glass of whiskey. "To the Ark."
"When we are very far from here," Cinder declined as she walked over to the boxed-up Ark.
The audience glared angrily at the onscreen villains.
"Don't celebrate too soon, Adam," Blake snarled with a scowl.
"Yeah. It's not over while Sun is still breathing," Yang added as she glared at the screen.
Sienna pulled up in her jeep and stepped out. "The plane is ready to be loaded now, colonel," she notified Adam.
Cinder gazed down intently at the crate containing Ark with a sly grin on her face as she rubbed it gingerly with her hands.
"Soon…very soon..." she said under her breath. (1)
Everyone narrowed their eyes in suspicion at Cinder's counterpart. They weren't surprised by her plotting... and a few already had their guesses.
"What are you plotting, Cinder?" Ozpin said internally, half-expecting Cinder to go behind Salem's back to keep the Ark of the Seasons for herself.
Back at the airstrip, a White Fang pilot climbed into the plane's cockpit, awaiting the delivery of the Ark. Unbeknownst to him, Sun snuck under one of the plane's wings and climbed onto the fuselage to sneak up on the pilot.
Unfortunately, a mechanic spotted Sun and confronted him whilst holding a heavy wrench.
"Hey! Who are you?!" the mechanic demanded. "What are you doing there! Come down from there!"
"Uh-oh. Busted," Nora muttered.
"Don't worry. It's only one guy," Ren assured his partner.
Sun silently responded by kicking the mechanic in the face and hopping off. The mechanic stood up and began swinging the wrench at Sun, but he easily dodged the blows and responded with punches.
"He shouldn't be too hard to beat," Sun said with confidence.
As the two brawled, a tall, burly cougar Faunus stepped out of a nearby tent. He noticed the ongoing brawl and smiled as he removed his cap, gloves, and jacket, revealing a distinct set of tattoos on his left arm.
"He might be," Neptune said nervously.
"Isn't that the White Fang goon you fought on the train back in Vale?" Blake asked Weiss.
"You're right. I'd recognize those tattoos anywhere," Weiss confirmed, thankful he was unarmed.
Sun continued his battle with the mechanic as Blake stepped out from the barrels and hid behind one of the plane's wheels.
Sun caught the mechanics hand in mid swing and forces the wrench he held into one of the plane's propellors, snapping off the tool's head.
With a final punch, Sun knocked out the mechanic just as the second, larger one calmly approached from behind.
"Man, look at that guy. He's got muscles on his muscles," Yang observed with a hint of envy.
The big mechanic took up a boxing stance. "Hey, you there!" he loudly beckoned Sun.
Sun turned around, as did the pilot as he finally took notice of the situation.
"Come fight, boy! Get off there!" The mechanic challenged, still holding his fists up.
"I so don't have time for this," Sun grumbled impatiently.
"You won't be able to take off with him interfering," Ren reasoned.
Sighing in frustration, Sun motioned for the mechanic to "hold on" as he climbed back down from the plane.
Blake, meanwhile, discreetly removed a pair of chocks from one of the plane's wheels.
Sun took up a boxing stance in front of the mechanic. Sun feigned surprise at spotting something to his left. The mechanic followed his gaze. With his foe distracted, Sun delivered a kick to the mechanics crotch… and it didn't even phase him.
Everyone was either shocked or impressed by the mechanics toughness. Jaune, Ren, and Oscar even winced in discomfort and covered their crotches.
"Damn! He's got balls of steel," Qrow complimented, knowing without aura, he'd be in agony unless he was drunk.
Sun tried a wide swing, which the mechanic dodged, then responded with a quick jab that knocked Sun right onto his ass.
"Ooh! That looked painful," Ruby said through clenched teeth.
"This is definitely going to be harder," Ghira added, noting the mechanic was almost as big as him.
As this was happening, the pilot pulled out a revolver.
"Come on! Get up!" the mechanic shouted. "I'm gonna give you one in that mug!"
The mechanic grabbed Sun and pulled him to his feet. But as he did, Sun bit down on the mechanics forearm, causing him to yell in pain and throw his opponent aside under one of the plane's wings.
"Ugh! Really Sun? Biting?" Weiss asked in disgust towards such a savage action.
Qrow shrugged. "When your opponent is bigger and stronger than you, you gotta fight dirty to win," he reasoned.
Outmatched, Sun ran under the wing to the other side of the plane, only to backtrack as the pilot spotted him and squeezed off a shot that barely missed. Running back into the mechanic, Sun was then punched twice more and knocked to the ground.
Everyone looked on in concern as Sun was clearly outclassed by the mechanics superior strength.
"Hang in there, bro," Neptune whispered.
The mechanic smiled widely as he towered over his opponent while the pilot tried to pull off a shot on Sun. Needing to be pragmatic, Sun picked up a handful of sand off the ground and flung it into the mechanic's eyes, forcing him to move out of the pilot's line of fire.
"Nice one. That's really putting dirt in someone's eyes," Yang cheered jokingly.
"Oooh! That's gotta burn like hell!" Ilia winced, having gotten sand in her eyes before.
"Watch out, Sun!" Blake shouted now that the pilot had a clear shot at Sun with his revolver.
Luckily, Blake snuck up on the pilot and knocked him out with the wheel chock. She stood atop the plane with a cheeky grin of triumph.
"That a girl, Blake," Kali praised her daughter handling herself without Sun while Ghira nodded with pride.
"Yeah, I owe you one," Sun added thankfully.
Unfortunately, the now unconscious pilot lurched forward in his seat, pushing the plane's throttle forward. One of the engines to short out, causing the plane to rotate in a circle around it's one set of blocked wheels.
"Uh-oh," Ruby muttered.
"This is going to escalate quickly, I can tell already," Jaune predicted as he sipped a soda
Blake then hopped into the cockpit, causing the canopy to fall and lock above her. She struggled to move the knocked-out pilot, but it was no good.
"Sunny!" Blake called out; her voice muted by the plane's canopy.
Below, Sun was on the ropes at this point as the mechanic delivered blow after blow.
"I'm kinda busy right now," Sun said irritably.
"Getting your ass kicked," Yang finished with a frown.
A truck carrying a squad of White Fang troops pulled up to the airstrip and noticed the commotion.
Luckily, Blake also spotted the truck. Thinking fast, she took control of the plane's machine gun turret and opened fire, killing most of the truck's occupants in a shower of bullets.
"Good to have you helping me out," Sun said with a smile.
"Damn right. I'm no distressed damsel," Blake agreed.
As this happened, one of the plane's wings clipped a tanker truck, snapping off one of the port caps. A clear, liquid began to leak out of the tank. (2)
"What's that stuff? Water?" Ruby questioned.
"No, Ruby. That's what's called gasoline," Gold-Sith answered, much to everyone's confusion.
Weiss blinked. "Gas-o-line? What's that?" she inquired.
"It's a liquid fuel source found in a few alternate universes. It's a distilled version of a naturally occurring fuel source known as petroleum. In this particular universe, dust exists, but is harder to come by. So, gasoline is often used as a less-potent substitute to fuel vehicles when dust is unavailable," Gold-Sith explained.
Everyone listened intently with wonder. Weiss scratched her chin, wondering if her father would ever want to capitalize on such a resource or drive any companies that tried to out of business to keep dust as the dominant energy source. One thing was for certain, it would create a huge amount of energy competition on Remnant.
"So, it's like a cheaper alternative to fire dust," Taiyang deducted, wishing such a source existed in his own reality to conserve dust.
"Essentially," Gold-Sith confirmed.
The mechanic knocked Sun down again, the latter barely avoiding one of the plane's wheels as it slowly rotated.
Meanwhile, Blake gunned down the last White Fang soldier from the truck. Unfortunately, her gunfire hit a shoe boxed sized container of fire dust sitting atop a crate, causing it to explode in a great, upwards fireball (3).
Everyone flinched slightly at the explosion, well aware it would alert the other villains.
Blake smiled sheepishly. "Oops…" she muttered.
Back at the White Fang camp, the fire cloud from the exploding barrels was visible and alerted the assembled troops. Cinder stepped out of her tent while Adam rose from his seat.
"Stay with the Ark! Stay with the Ark!" Cinder commanded the soldiers as she and Adam ran towards the airstrip.
"So much for staying under the radar," Saphron sighed.
"Sun's gotta hurry before more White Fang arrive," Yang added.
"Look out!" Blake called, stopping Sun from running into the plane's spinning propellors.
Just then, Blake spotted the leaking fuel truck. "Oh, my Oum," she whispered, knowing the gasoline would reach the fire.
Judging from Blake's tone and the fact gasoline was a fuel source, the audience's expressions matched the cat Faunus onscreen.
"Please tell me gasoline isn't as flammable as fire dust," Weiss asked in worry for her teammate.
"Unfortunately…yes it is," Gold-Sith confirmed, prompting everyone to widen their eyes.
"Get out of there, Blake!" Ghira shouted at the screen.
"I can't. I think I'm locked inside," Blake said, knowing her counterpart would have jumped out by now otherwise.
By this point, the gasoline had reached the plane and splashed over the unconscious mechanic as he began to wake up.
"Blake," Sun muttered as he climbed atop the plane, now aware of the impeding danger.
"In here! Up here!" Blake called from the cockpit. "Sunny, come on!"
As Sun reached the cockpit and struggled to free Blake, the burly mechanic climbed atop the plane to pursue him while the other one regained consciousness and ran off to avoid the upcoming explosion.
"That bastard just doesn't give up," Sun groused, frustrated by the tenacity of the mechanic.
Sun threw a punch at the mechanic, only for him to catch it and respond with a jab that knocked Sun off the plane. By this point, the expanding gasoline puddle had nearly reached the fire.
Sun and the mechanic continued their fight, exchanging blows that left both combatants with bloodied faces. But Sun was overpowered and knocked prone again.
Everyone started to get worried, especially Ghira and Kali. Not only was Sun on the ropes, but Blake was stuck inside the doomed airplane, and the rest of the White Fang was alerted.
"You're not gonna beat him with fisticuffs, Sun," Ghira said urgently, impending danger for Blake.
"He'll have to try something different," Jaune noted.
While the mechanic stood over Sun, one of the plane's spinning propellors inched towards him from behind.
"Is that all you've got?" the mechanic taunted, oblivious to the impeding danger.
Smiling, Sun curled up into a ball on the ground. Puzzled, the mechanic turned around just in time to scream before the propellor sliced him to bits offscreen, splattering blood and strips of torn flesh all over the cockpit, much to Blake's horror as she covered her eyes.
The entire audience exclaimed in shock and disgust, a few even diverted their gazes from the screen. A few, namely Jaune, even came close to losing their lunch.
"Talk about going all to pieces," Taiyang joked prompting groans and glares from the rest of the audience.
With the mechanic dead, Sun quickly picked up the pilot's dropped revolver and climbed back onto the plane to free Blake. The gasoline puddle had just reached the burning barrels and ignited, of flame rapidly crawled towards the plane
"Pull on the latch! Move up! It's gonna blow up!" Sun shouted to Blake.
"It's stuck, Sunny! I can't force the lock!" she replied loudly.
By this point, the flames were already half-way to the fuel truck.
"Come on! Get her out of there!" Ghira shouted at the screen.
"Hurry, Sun! Hurry!" Kali added.
"Never mind! Get back!" Sun ordered as he aimed his pistol and shot the locking mechanism.
Now free from the cockpit, Blake and Sun hopped off the plane and ran for their lives as the fire reached the truck and detonated it, the resulting explosion destroying the plane as well in a burst of flames.
Ghira, Kali, and Blake all sighed with relief at such a
"It's a good thing that wasn't fire dust. The resulting blast wave would have been big enough to kill Sun and Blake even from that distance," Weiss remarked.
"At least they stopped the villains from flying off with the Ark," Ruby said optimistically.
Later, Cinder, Adam and Sienna had arrived at the now debris ridden airstrip, surveying all the damage Sun and Blake had caused.
"Get the Ark away from this place immediately," Cinder ordered as she fanned smoke away with her hat.
"Have it put on the truck. We'll fly it out of Vacuo," Adam said before turning to Sienna. "And Khan, I want plenty of protection."
"Yes sir," Sienna complied.
"They're not about to give up," Ruby sighed.
"You're right, kiddo. They must have other ways to transport the Ark," Taiyang agreed as he sipped a glass of water.
Just then, a fuel barrel sitting beneath a guard tower exploded, blowing the structure to pieces.
Adam and Sienna departed while Cinder looked around suspiciously. "Wukong," she muttered.
"She knows he's escaped," Oscar said with worry, knowing now the bad guys will be on high alert.
"Her rivalry with Sun has probably spanned for years so she must know how he operates by now," Ozpin assumed.
Not far away, Pietro stumbled around the area until he spotted something. He drew closer and his face lit up with joy.
Sun and Blake were hiding in a nearby tent which Pietro entered. "Holy smoke, my friends, I... I'm so pleased you're not dead!" he said with relief.
"Thank goodness, they spared him," Weiss said in relief for Penny's creator.
"Yeah. They need all the help they can get if they're going to get the Ark back," Maria agreed while sipping some tea.
"Sunny, Sunny, we have no time," Pietro informed and he shook Sun's hand. "If you still want the Ark, it is being loaded onto a truck for Vacuo."
"Truck? What truck?" Sun asked in frustration.
Elsewhere, a White Fang convoy consisting of a truck, a jeep and a motorcycle with a side car pulled up to the boxed-up Ark.
"Sun will be hard pressed to get the Ark back with all that security," Ilia noted the jeep and motorcycle both having mounted machine guns.
Four White Fang troops assembled around the Ark and lifted it.
"Come on!" Cinder ordered from nearby as the troops carried the Ark to the truck.
From behind a nearby hill, Sun, Blake, and Pietro covertly watched the scene unfold.
As the White Fang loaded the Ark into the truck, a crowd of Vacuan workers tried to intervene, but were driven back when one of the soldiers fired his sub-machine gun into the air.
Meanwhile, Cinder climbed into the back of a black staff car with Adam and Tyrian.
"Let's go!" Adam shouted to his troops.
Sienna climbed into the jeep and slipped on a pair of goggles.
"Get back to Vacuo," Sun instructed Pietro as the convoy moved out. "Get us some transport to Atlas boat, plane, anything. Meet me at Peter's place."
"Peter? As in Peter Port?" Ruby questioned.
Weiss shrugged. "I'd assume so," she replied.
"But why take the Ark to Atlas?" Oscar wondered aloud.
"Perhaps because it's far away from Mistral and protection offered by the Atlesian military," Maria presumed, hoping the Atlesians wouldn't desire the power of the Ark for themselves.
"Be ready for me. I'm going after that truck," Sun informed.
"How?" Pietro asked skeptically.
"I don't know. I'm making this up as I go," Sun replied.
Minutes later, Sun rode out of a nearby tent on horseback, much to the outrage of its owners. Sun rode out of the dig site after the convoy while a few of the protesting Vacuans chased after him in vain.
"Did he just steal a horse?" Ren questioned disapprovingly
"I gotta catch up to the Ark somehow," Sun reasoned, knowing all bets were off at this point.
"Taking a horse against a convoy of vehicles armed with machine guns doesn't seem like the best idea," Weiss said doubtfully, even though she understood Sun's options were limited.
"Like he said, he just makes it up as he goes along," Neptune recalled Sun's earlier quote.
The White Fang convoy cruised down a desert road while Sun pursued them cross-country on horseback through the desert. Sun's signature action theme began to play as he stopped at a cliff edge overlooking the road and waited for the convoy to show up.
"This is going to be awesome!" Nora predicted as she swayed slightly to the music, prompting a few nods and excited grins from the others.
The White Fang convoy arrived. Seizing his chance, Sun descended a hillside adjoining the road and rode after the truck carrying the Ark.
The White Fang immediately spotted Sun. The jeep's machine gunner opened fire on him but was forced to stop when his rounds threatened to hit the White Fang troops riding inside the truck.
Cinder heard the gunfire and shot a look back in concern, already suspecting that Sun was responsible for the commotion.
Sun, Blake, and Neptune all smiled smugly at Cinder's alarmed expression.
"You're not getting away that easily, Cinder," Ruby said, hoping the villainess' plans would be foiled.
Sun hopped off his horse and onto the truck. He clambered over to the truck's cab, opened the door, and threw the passenger out, sending him tumbling across the sandy road. He then threw himself at the driver and began grappling with him for control of the vehicle.
The truck began to twist and jerk erratically as Sun and the driver struggled.
"Careful. Don't tip over the truck," Weiss cautioned, knowing that doing so would ruin everything for Sun.
Sun hit the brakes by accident, causing the jeep behind them to crash into the trucks rear. Next, the driver accidentally hit the accelerator, sending one of the trucks passengers flying out with a distinctive scream and smashing into the jeep's windshield (3).
Ruby, Yang, Jaune, Taiyang, and Oscar all burst out laughing at the distinctive scream. Everybody else at least grinned in amusement.
"That scream was hilarious," Yang giggled.
"You know, something about it seems… familiar?" Ren said, having a strange feeling he'd somehow heard the scream before.
In the staff car, Cinder and Adam kept looking back at the truck in concern.
Cinder then turned back to the road. "Look out ahead!" she shouted to the driver.
The staff car sped through a Vacuan village, narrowly missing a few pedestrians.
"This reminds me of Benny the cab from the last movie," Saphron noted from the last viewing.
"But this is worse," Maria said, knowing the White Fang wouldn't think twice about running over innocent people.
Sun and the driver stopped struggling in time to gape in shock as the truck plowed through a wooden scaffolding built alongside a stone structure parallel to the road, sending the workers falling off or jumping from ladders. One of them landed on the trucks hood before slipping off with a dumbstruck look on his face.
Qrow, Taiyang, Coco, and Yang all laughed reluctantly at the dark humor of the pedestrian on the windshield.
"Those poor people..." Ruby said sadly as the villager's house was damaged.
"They've been through enough already with the White Fang forcing some of them into slavery," Velvet added while munching on some carrot sticks.
Sun and the driver then looked at each other and laughed in relief before Sun sent him tumbling out of the truck with a punch.
Now in control of the truck, Sun stepped on the gas until he rammed into the back of the staff car, pushing it off the road. The truck plowed through a few aqueducts carrying water as Sun drove along.
The convoy entered an oasis with palm trees lining the road. Sienna's jeep caught up to Sun. The machine gunner aimed and fired towards Sun as the jeep inched closer to the cab of the truck. Acting fast, Sun rammed into the jeep, knocking it off the road.
"Ah shit!" Sienna swore as the jeep drove across rough, sandy terrain.
"That's one vehicle down," Yang noted.
"So far so good," Ilia added.
Back on the road, the motorcycle began to catch up to the truck. Sun grinned and almost casually rammed into the motorcycle, sending it and the two soldiers tumbling into a puddle on the side of the road. Sienna's jeep made its way back onto the road and continued pursuing the truck.
"You're really having a blast, aren't you?" Neptune commented on Sun's cheeky grin.
"Saving the world is strenuous, but I guess it can be fun too," Sun agreed with a grin matching his counterpart.
Pulling up on the left, the jeep's gunner fired at Sun again. Smirking, the Faunus adventurer rammed into the jeep again just as they were driving alongside a gorge. Losing control of her vehicle, Sienna and her troops all screamed as they sailed off a cliff and were sent falling hundreds of feet to their deaths.
Everyone looked a bit disturbed as Sienna Khan's death. The Belladonna's were even saddened, knowing the former high leader wasn't nearly as ruthless of racist as Adam was.
"Whoa…that's a long way down," Nora noted as she ate a slice of pancake.
Back at the truck, the White Fang soldiers riding in the back stood up from their seats. The music reached a more urg
"Get out there! Stop him!" the sergeant ordered.
The soldiers climbed out of the back and clambered towards the truck's cab from the sides.
"This one's gonna be trickier," Ruby realized as she heard the change in tone to the music.
"There's White Fang on both sides of him," Weiss added.
Sun spotted the soldiers through the side mirrors. "Uh..." he said uncertainly.
Thinking fast, Sun swerved the truck from side to side, shaking off four of the White Fang soldiers as they were knocked off by branches and vegetation lining the road. One of them, however, managed to hang on. He drew a pistol, reached the cab, and fired a shot inside, grazing Sun's left arm.
Gasps echoed throughout the theater as Sun took what looked like a serious bullet wound to his arm.
"Sun!" Neptune and Blake cried out in concern.
"It's all right. I think it was only a grazing shot," Maria assured, her sharp ocular lenses noticing the bullet only scratched Sun's arm.
Reacting fast, Sun reached over and opened the passenger door, nearly knocking off the White Fang soldier. Sun clutched his wound; small droplets of his blood stained the windshield.
The White Fang soldier hung onto the now open door as his feet were dragged across the road. Soon though, he lost his grip and fell off.
The sergeant in the back of the truck them climbed atop the roof and worked his way towards the cab.
"That guy is gutsy pulling a stunt like that," Qrow admitted as he sipped from his flask.
The soldier threw himself into the cab through the driver's side. He began punching the Sun's wounded shoulder, causing him to wince in pain.
Everyone cringed at the White Fang sergeants action, knowing it must have been painful.
"That's gotta hurt like hell," Jaune said as he rubbed his own arm in discomfort.
"Dirty fighting bastard!" Sun shouted.
"Hey, it works both ways, kid," Qrow reasoned with a shrug.
Next, the soldier grabbed Sun and tossed through the windshield and ends up hanging from a hood ornament in the front of the fast-moving truck.
The ornament bended and broke off, so Sun grabbed onto the truck's grill, only for the thin bars to snap off. All that was left was the trucks front fender, which Sun clung to.
"Hang in there, bro!" Neptune called to the screen.
"Did you just make a pun?" Yang asked irritably.
Neptune blinked in surprise and realization. "Not on purpose," he said sheepishly.
"Step on it!" Adam hollered at the driver.
Hearing the order, the driver grinned and hit the accelerator, bringing the truck closer to the back of the staff car.
To avoid being crushed between the two vehicles, Sun lowered himself under the engine where he clung tenuously beneath the truck.
Sun made his way to the truck's rear wheel axle and snapped his bullwhip around it. He found himself being road hauled behind the truck while clinging to the bullwhip.
"Good thing you have that bullwhip," Ilia noted, realizing Sun's trademark weapon had saved his skin twice so far.
"Even so, that's gonna leave a mark," Qrow said noting the rough sand and rocks on the road.
Eventually, Sun managed to pull himself forward and lifted himself up onto the rear of the truck. He crawled back in, worked his way back to the cab, and jumped inside.
The audience clapped or whooped at Sun's impressive stunt, considering he didn't have Aura in this universe.
"Kick his ass, Sun!" Neptune cheered on his partner.
Angry over the driver's stunt, Sun punched and slammed the drivers head onto the dashboard before hurling him out through the already-broken windshield. The White fang soldier wasn't so fortunate, failed to cling to the truck, and was crushed to death under its wheels.
"Ooh!" Ruby, Jaune, Oscar, and Saphron all exclaimed as the sergeant became roadkill.
"Damn, Sun. That was pretty brutal," Yang remarked as she sipped a soda.
"Well…he did try to do the same to me," Sun reasoned, though he didn't fully approve of his counterpart running a man over with a truck.
Now in control of the truck again, Sun sped up alongside the staff car and rammed into it. The staff was forced off the road and Sun made his escape.
"Idiot! Idiot!" Cinder chewed out the driver as the latter shifted into reverse to get back onto the road.
The audience either laughed at Cinders frustration or applauded Sun for reclaiming the Ark.
"That was the most awesome chase scene I've ever watched," Yang commented.
"Me too," Ruby chirped in agreement.
"Me three," Jaune and Oscar said together.
"Four...er...my bad," Oscar corrected awkwardly.
Back in Vacuo, Sun arrived in the truck, which he quickly drove into an open garage in the center of a circular courtyard where Peter Port, Pietro and their men were waiting to hide it. Pietro's men concealed the truck and garage with a hastily assembled bazaar stand.
"Clever move hiding the truck like that," Oscar complimented with a smile.
"Indeed. The villains will never find it now," Ozpin agreed, knowing the city was too big for the White Fang to ransack in search of the Ark.
Just then, the villains pulled up in their staff car. They desperately scanned the courtyard for the truck but couldn't see it.
A few merchants approached the staff car with green melons in hand. Enraged by his loss of the Ark, Adam grabbed one of the melons and threw at an offscreen dog in frustration, eliciting a yelp from the animal.
The audience frowned or glared at the screen for the stunt Adam just pulled. Even Blake didn't look very pleased. As a cat Faunus, she didn't like dogs very much, but would never show such cruelty to one either.
"Hey!" Ruby shouted in outrage.
"Asshole!" Yang and Taiyang both shouted
"How dare he?! Harming an innocent animal like that!" Weiss hissed.
Having lost Sun's trail, the staff car drove off. Pietro's assembled men then cheered their success in retrieving and hiding the Ark.
Cut to nightfall at the Vacuo city docks. A group of people were applauding a street dancer in the middle of a performance.
Sun and Blake, both tired and haggard from a long day of adventuring, approached a cargo vessel stationed at the dock.
Pietro approached the pair. "Everything at last has been arranged," he informed Sun.
"The Ark?" Sun inquired.
"Is on board," Pietro answered. "Nothing is lacking now that you're here. Or what is left of you."
"You trust these guys?" Sun asked warily.
"Yes," Pietro assured his friend.
Nearby stood a dark-skinned man wearing rectangular sunglasses, a white naval cap and matching sweater was lighting up a cigarette.
Weiss pointed at the screen. "Look. It's Flynt from the Vytal tournament," she pointed out.
"I wonder how he and Neon are doing today," Yang sad curiously with a hand to her chin.
"Mr. Coal?" Pietro beckoned the ships commander.
Captain Flynt Coal turned and approached the trio as Pietro made introductions: "Mr. Coal, these are my friends. They are my family. I will hear of it if they are not treated well."
Flynt smiled. "My cabin is theirs," he assured with a hand to his chest.
"That's good. After all they've been through today, they deserve the rest," Saphron remarked.
"But is he really as trustworthy as Pietro claims?" Ilia questioned, remembering how the Albain brothers betrayed Sun in the beginning.
"Well, they need to get the Ark out of Vacuo, so beggars can't be choosers," Qrow said, though he knew Ilia had a point.
"Mr. Wukong. I've heard a lot about you, sir," Flynt said. "Your appearance is exactly the way I imagined.
Flynt and Pietro both laughed as the former walked off to board his vessel.
Sun approached Pietro. "Good-bye," he said as he and Pietro embraced in a hug.
"Look after each other. I am already missing you," Pietro said.
Sun pulled away and nodded. "You're my good friend," he said while Blake walked up.
"Pietro," Blake said gratefully as she placed a kiss on Pietro's right cheek. "That is for Pietra…" another kiss on his left cheek. "…and that is for your children. Thank you." (4)
"Awww, that's so sweet of you, Blake," Kali cooed at her daughter.
"Well, he was a major help in getting the Ark," Blake reminded.
Sun and Blake boarded Captain Coal's ship while a delighted Pietro began to sing: "An Atlas tar is a soaring soul. As free as a mountain bird. His energetic fist should be ready to a dictator..."
A few audience members chuckled or applauded for Pietro's soothing singing voice.
"He really likes to sing, doesn't he?" Ruby giggled as she ate from a cup of strawberries.
"For an occasion like this, I'd probably do the same thing," Weiss wistfully, having missed performing back in Atlas before her father disowned her.
Later that night, as the ship was sailing for Atlas, a whistling Blake entered the cabin she and Sun were given. She had a red towel draped over her shoulders and was carrying a bowel of water and a washcloth.
Sun was sitting on the bed. "Where did you go?" he asked in a pained voice.
"I'm cleaning up," Blake answered as she tossed the red towel aside, revealing the silky white gown she was wearing.
"That's a nice gown," Coco complimented while lowering her shades.
"I'll say," Ilia muttered under her breath as she admired how the gown hugged Blake's figure with a blush.
"Where'd you get that?" Sun asked about Blake's new outfit.
"From him," Blake answered simply.
"Who him?" Sun pressed.
"Coal."
"Getting jealous there, lover boy?" Yang teased Sun with a smirk.
Sun narrowed his eyes at Yang and pouted, eliciting a few snickers from the others.
"I got a feeling I'm not the first woman ever to travel with these pirates," Blake presumed as she dunked a rag into the bowl of water.
"It's lovely," Sun complimented Blake's gown.
"Really?" she asked.
"Yeah."
A double-sided mirror was in the cabin. While Blake tried to check out her new gown, Sun examined and touched a gash on his forehead.
Blake's side of the mirror had grime on it which she tried to rub off. Failing that, she flipped the mirror over, accidentally slamming it into Sun's aching chin.
A cutaway to the exterior of the ship underscored the sheer volume of Sun's pained scream.
"Oooooh!" half the audience exclaimed while the other half burst out laughing.
"I almost felt that," Sun said through clenched teeth as he rubbed his own chin.
"Be careful Blake. He's had a hard day," Kali scolded her daughter.
"It was an accident," Blake said while holding her hands up.
Sun rubbed his sore chin while Blake peaked around the mirror. "What'd you say?" she asked obliviously.
More laughter filled the theater at Blake's obliviousness to Sun's scream that could have woken the dead.
"Did she not hear me?" Sun questioned incredulously.
"Apparently not," Neptune answered with a shrug.
Sun slowly removed his shirt, revealing cuts on his chest from being road hauled. Blake rushed over to sit beside him and help remove his shirt.
Sun winced. "Wait... I don't need any help," he insisted.
"You know you do," Blake insisted as she examined Sun's reflection in the mirror. "You're not the man I knew ten years ago,"
"It's not the years, honey, it's the mileage," Sun countered in a strained voice.
"Wise words to live by," Maria agreed with a nod.
"Indeed. It doesn't matter how old they are, it's experience that matters," Ozpin said internally, prompting Oscar to nod as well.
"Please, I don't need a nurse. I just want to sleep," Sun insisted.
"I beg to differ, Sun. You've been beaten up, shot, and road hauled in just one day," Blake defended her counterpart.
"Even so, after going through all that, I'd just want to sleep for a whole day," Sun said, his counterpart's fatigue being palpable.
"Don't be such a baby," Blake scolded as she forced Sun to lie down.
"Blake, leave me alone," Sun ordered as he tried to push her off.
Blake inspected Sun's wounds. "What is this here?" she asked.
"Go away. Yes, it hurts," Sun complained as Blake dabbed at his chest with the washcloth. "Ow!"
"Lay off him, will ya? He's been through hell," Neptune scolded Blake.
"And I haven't?" Blake asked with a hand to her chest.
"Well, compared to him, you had it easy," Jaune reasoned.
"They're right, Blake," Yang added. "While Sun was in the Well of Souls with all those snakes, you were getting wasted with Cinder."
Blake paused for a moment. "Point taken," she conceded.
"Well, Oum-damn it, Sunny, where doesn't it hurt?!" Blake asked in exasperation.
"Here," Sun answered, pointing to his left elbow.
Blake leaned in and planted a kiss on Sun's elbow.
Next, Sun pointed at his forehead. "Here."
Blake smirked, removed Sun's fedora, and kissed his forehead.
A few audience members chuckled. It was kind of childish for Sun to want a kiss to his elbow and forehead respectively.
Next, Sun's right eye. "This isn't too bad," he said.
Finally, Sun pointed at his lips "Here," he whispered.
Blake happily obliged and their lips locked in a long, passionate kiss while soft, romantic music played.
Blake and Sun both blushed a deep red and averted their gazes from each other but couldn't hide their pleased grins. Inside, Kali was gushing at seeing her little girl find love on the big screen. Ghira
"Awwwww," most of the female audience cooed at the heartwarming scene.
"This is so touching," Coco said softly with a hand to her cheek.
Even Ilia and Velvet felt mushy inside despite their jealousy towards Sun and Blake respectively.
"You better not do anything more than kiss, Wukong," Ghira warned sternly, causing Sun to flush slightly.
"Dear, please stop!" Kali scolded her husband. "I'll grant you, Sun messed up in the past, but he's a good man. He's kept Blake safe so far in this viewing."
"Mom's right, dad. I'm a grown woman. I can make my own decisions," Blake added irritably. "Besides, that's not the real me up there."
Ghira paused before nodding with a sigh. "I'm sorry. I guess it's just fatherly instinct," he said sincerely.
Finally, Sun drifted off to sleep after such a long, arduous day of adventuring.
"Wukong...Wukong?!" Blake said to no avail as Sun began to snore.
Blake sighed in disappointment. "We never seem to get a break, do we?" she lamented.
"I'm guessing as a rule you never show anything sexually explicit onscreen, do you Gold-Sith?" Taiyang asked, hoping so for Ruby's sake.
"That's correct, Mr. Xiao Long," Gold-Sith confirmed to the relief of everyone concerned.
Review Responses
Luffy L Deathwalker: Are you referring to Indy and Marion's scene on the ship, or the opening of the Ark? Either way, good call. Lol.
Guest Jul 22: You're right. That was my bad. I've watched every episode of "Game of Thrones" and Tyrian was my favorite character. The names are homophonous, so I'm not surprised I made that error XD
JC of the Corn: I know what you mean. The face melting scene was more gross than scary for me. But those mummies in the Well of Souls were outright terrifying when I was a kid. Marion's screams and the hopefully imagined groans coming from the mummies made it hard to watch.
Jlargent: LMAO. That's a good idea. Just the idea of Taiyang chasing Blake around an oil rig with a shotgun would crack the audience up. Except for Blake and Yang. They'd be embarrassed.
CJ: Most likely after they arrive in Mantle. They'll be too tied up with other matters, like battling the Leviathan, or, in Blake and Yang's case, fighting Adam.
SuperSaiyanJedi14: I know. I got Tyrian mixed up with Tyrion because I'm a die-hard "Game of Thrones" fan. I've fixed the error. Thanks for pointing that out for me.
Soviet Commander: It'll probably be an action flick or another animated flick. I'll have to ask the reviewers what they would like to see. I always give my readers what they'd like.
volcasiron30: I can only imagine the utter horror on everyone's faces (especially Ruby's) to see Penny transform from a cute, harmless looking doll to a deranged, potty mouthed, serial killer. It's a complete 180 from her canon self.
(1)- You probably guessed it earlier. I went a bit off script on Cinder's part here because it'd be totally in character for her.
(2)- I took Zraul Prime's suggestion under advisement and decided to incorporate gasoline into the RWBY multiverse. As you said, I can only integrate so much RWBY into other fictional works.
(3)- This is to keep dust integrated into this universe and demonstrate just how more potent dust is compared to gasoline. A small box of fire dust is equally potent to multiple 50-gallon drums of petroleum. If not moreso.
(4)- Since there's no recorded Wilhelm scream in RWBY, I felt the audience would be amused by such a legendary stock sound.
(5)- I cut out the last kiss on the lips Blake would have given to Pietro here. I felt it'd be a bit gross seeing that canon Blake is barely an adult while Pietro is old enough to be her grandfather.
